The Road Warrior boasts that it can scan one sheet in 10 seconds. At first, this sounds like a pretty acceptable rate of speed. But, consider the fact that this is really only 6 pages per minute. The Canon imageFORMULA is a similar portable document scanner that is capable of speeds up to 25 pages per minute.

On top of that, the Road Warrior can scan one sheet in 10 seconds as long as you have the resolution set at 200 DPI and your document is black and white. If you use a higher quality setting and would like a more detailed image (such as 600 DIP), you can expect the scan to take twice as long.

The Scanner Is Too Light And Flimsy

While we were reviewing the Road Warrior portable document scanner, we came across a problem that we’ve never seen before. This scanner is actually too lightweight. Yes, you want your portable scanner to be light so you can carry with you. But, the Road Warrior weighs in at just about 10 ounces – that’s under 1 pound! When you hold it in your hand, it seriously feels like you’re going to break it. We can’t imagine throwing this scanner into a laptop bag without worrying about breaking it.

The Software Is Sub Par

The software that this scanner is packaged with is a memory hog. So, on top of a slow scaning speed, you will be working with a slow piece of software to organize and work with your scanned images.

We would definitely suggest that you look elsewhere if you want a portable document scaning solution. There are several other choices that you might want to look into.
