Koko: Yes, i'll help.
Mummy: Help mummy wash buttock, pom pom, carry mummy... (testing him as he is always feel 'dirty' on his own buttock)

Koko: Boy cannot see girl buttock. I can't help you to wash buttock.. (shock me with his answer)

Mummy: Har, then how? Everyday Mummy helps you, then you're not going to help mummy in future?

Koko: Hmm.. ok ok. I'll close my eyes and help you. (showing his action and close his eyes)

Taxi ride

Didi: Why Daddy not yet coming home?

Mummy: Daddy missed flight, has to stay in HongKong for one day.

Koko: Why Daddy didn't take taxi? (Dad always go to airport with cab)

Mummy: HongKong is very far. Cannot reach and no taxi will bring Daddy.

Koko: If take taxi, one day already can reach home. No need to stay there.

Mummy: Do you want to go Hong Kong? There is Disneyland, see mickey mouse..

Didi: I want, I want.

Koko: Hong Kong got Kaiju one. Very scary one. (Pacific Rim - the influence)

Didi: Ooh.. But Daddy is in HongKong. Got Kaiju or not?

Koko: Wow, Daddy can see the robot fighting. I want to go Hong Kong to see Kaiju.

Butcher story

Butcher is one of the word that Koko needs to learn for his spelling. Last night, when we are revising the book, I asked him 'Do you know who is butcher?' Apparently, the teacher didn't explain to them the occupation details. So I said 'someone who kill the animal and sell them. Did you see, when Mummy buys meat, someone is there to cut the meat?. That's butcher.' Koko was stunt, and suddenly he cried.

KoKo: "I don't want the animal to die. It's not good to kill animals. Why they kill the animals?"
He kept on crying and crying. I'm stunt now.

Mummy: Did you eat chicken?.
Koko: Yes. I don't want the animal to die.
Mummy: If nobody sell chicken, then how are you going to get chicken to eat?
Koko: I don't them to kill animal.
Mummy: Then, you don't eat chicken or meat. Nobody going to sell chicken anymore.
Koko: I'll eat vege only, but they will still kill animal. (still crying very lot)...

Since yesterday, Koko insisted on vegetables only. When we reached the hawker stall and he saw his favorite chicken rice, he forgot. Daddy then told him, 'chicken is meat. Do you still want?'
Koko stared at it. Then said, 'Ok, i don't want.' He just ordered a porridge, assuming no meat in there.

Before he ate anything, Koko will ask what is the ingredient use. Flour, ok.. meat, no...
We're wondering how long is his persistence and whether we should support him? No meat?? Hmm...

Time for money or Money for time...

Which choice will you make? If you have enough money, probably you'll want some extra time. If you have a lot of time, probably you'll choose to spend the time to earn some money. For example, you want to buy an oven. Will you just go to an electronics shop and ask about the item and buy it if you're satisfied? Or will you go around to several shops before make your decision? Probably you'll end up buying in the first shop at the end, or probably you'll have a very good bargain on the second/third shop. You'll take 1 hour if you buy it from the first shop or you may take 4 hours for the survey done in several shops.

So far, I'm chasing on the money with my time. Currently, I have been thinking, is it worth the effort of spending so much time just for the money? Should I just use the time to spend with my kids, do my gardening or even just to read a book? Is the present or future is more important? For future, if we don't have the money, we may not be able to enjoy the things that we wish for. If I spend the time to chase for the money now, I may be neglecting the present time that I have. Tough question!! Balance, or yes..easy to say than do..

Late Sunday lunch

Ong Cheng Huat Seafood at Bagan Lalang..many should have heard of this place. First time hubby brought us there. We reached at ~1.30pm, it was a late lunch for us but still ok as we got a late breakfast too. A small ally heading to the restaurant but you'll need to be careful when you make the turn as you may hit the other car from the opposite direction.

Standard ordering of food.. fish, popia, clam/mussels, fried noodle, 'little chick'.. Service is very fast. Food is not bad too.

Didi said must snap him 1st..

Good late lunch to last till dinner. Price is ok, food is good. Environment is the typical Chinese restaurant, no air-con. Just one thing to my surprise, it didn't serve rice. You can only have fried noddle which this is not the typical chinese way..

We tried this restaurant at the famous TopSpot area.

Many choices and pricing is reasonable. Place is very packed with customers. Drink is expensive though..

Kek lapis-layered cake, many types, many colours. Price range from RM10 to RM50/60. We tried on 3 shops (Mira, Dayang Salleh, Cythea-a residence house) and decided Mira Cake House is cheap and good.

Sarawak laksa. You can find it almost in all of the kopitiam.

I love this. Lui cha.. the rice is superb, but not the green soup. I should have ordered the non-bitter one.

At the 101 Premier foodcourt. Cha kuih..ask for salty one. The sweet type is not very special.

Last day, before going home, the plan was to buy the kek lapis from the shop across the river and then came back packing and go home. Driving around 20minutes, we reached the place. Then, hubby suggested that we took the boat back and he'll drive. I said fine, if it's cheap. I weren't really expected it to be so cheap for a boat ride. Thought just opposite the river. Many locals are using the boat as their transportation across the river. It's only RM0.50/person. There is no satefy feature at all for this boat ride. I told hubby to wait and see us until we reached the other side. Anything happen, he has to jump into the river to save us. :)

Kuching..3rd day

So, we decided Semenggoh Orang Utan will another round of visit in the morning. After breakfast, we quickly get into car and start driving to the place. No rain and good weather. We're hoping to see many of them out this round. As we learnt from yesterday, they will take around 15-20min to get the orang utan to be down, so today we reached there at 9.30am, 30min late from the original feeding time. Thought that we'll not need to wait for long to see many of them. Unfortunately, when we reached, most peoples have started to leave and again there were only 3 of the orang utan. Since we're late, we waited till end of the show. Basically around 10am. Still only 3 of them. We're curious and have a chat with the ranger. Now, there are only few of them in the jungle as most of them have been sent away. Seeing 3 of them is considered a lot.

After that, we went to check in to Hotel Grand Margherita. Once in the room, as usual the boys had located the swimming pool area. Insisted so much to get to the pool. However, we said we'll walk around for awhile to see the cats and then only back to the hotel. Photo session with the cats monument around the hotel.

Hotels in Kuching

Hubby and I love this place very much. Basaga Holiday Residences. The environment is very calm, cool and relaxing. Lots of trees and very quiet. The entrance to the hotel is a small alley and you may just miss the turn if you didnt notice the signboard near to the road side. At night, it's a happening place and seems many local folks came over to enjoy the food at the restaurant area. Pool is always shady all the times, unfortunately the leaves keep on falling down to the water. I think hubby booked this hotel at ~Rm140+ price. If we came again, this place will be the choice.

Bar area for breakfast. They provide a breakfast set for each person and semi buffet of bread toast, cereal. drink and fruits at the bar area.

Grand Magherita is the other hotel that we stayed in Kuching. Paying extra Rm200+ as we thought want to enjoy the swimming pool and nicer hotel. However, we don't really enjoy it so much compare to Basaga. The front desk gave us a smoking room and when hubby released about it, he was informed that all rooms are fully booked. Since the air-con is centralized, the air circulation is bad especially if there is someone smoking in another room. Location is good for this hotel. The hotel is at the town center. Cat monument is exactly in front of the hotel and Waterfront is just 5 minutes walking distance. Kid pool is reasonable but the playground is only located outdoor. It was raining almost whole day when we were there. So, the kids were stuck in the room.

Kuching..2nd day

2nd day, our plan was to go to Pekan Serikin. It took around 1hrs drive from Kuching town center to this area. I'll say it's consider isolated and you may be wondering if you got the right way as you're driving towards the direction. The road pavement is very bad along the way. Tar road but with holes, typical road in Malaysia during raining season. We are only there for ~30min or probably less as we started to drive back once it started to rain. It's a long lane with stalls selling many stuffs. I can't find many with traditional things, majority are commercial stuff - clothes, caps,.. which we don't feel excited about.

On the way back, we dropped by at the Tasik Biru. Nice view of the lake.

After lunch, we were rushing to meet the Orang Utan on feeding time at 3pm timeslot. It was raining but still lots of people are around the area. We only managed to see 3 orang utan - 2 big and 1 little baby hanging on the tummy. Hubby and I were disappointed as we remembered when we visited this place in 2004, there were many of them. Thought probably because of the rain, we'll come again tomorrow morning.

Luckily the rain stopped and we manage to visit Kuching Waterfront at night. It's a happening area with many children playing around. We met a whole bunch of Unimas student dancing preparing for their convocation. It was fun as some of them were in ghost/monsters costume running around trying to scare the audience.

Kuching Sarawak 4D3N ..1st day

1st day.. we book Airasia plane from PG-> KL -> Kuching around 2months ago due to the low fare and hubby and I think it's time to bring the kids to experience airplane ride again. Their first plane trip was 2yrs ago when Didi was only a year old. They were very excited and have been asking about the plane since 2 weeks ago on every morning.

Waiting at PG airport at 6am. Total 5 hand carry bags - 1 handbag, 1 camera bag, 2 bags pack and 1 luggage. I can't believe I can pack everything into 2 main bags :)

Both of them were very attentive to the safety feature on the plane.

Almost time to get into plane to Kuching. Waited ~3hrs in LCCT.

1st place in Kuching -- Cat Museum at the Majlis Perbandaran Kuching Utara building. You can see the Cat Museum signboard at the road side turning to this building but you just can't find the museum until you entered it.

Meow meow..

You can find all types of cats in this museum, pretty amazing on the collection, except you can't find the real cat. Koko kept on asking 'where is the cat?'... After that, we went back to the hotel as both of the kids were very anxiously waiting for the fun in pool.. Hotel Basaga Holiday Residences is an amazing beautiful hotel.

Pool time is always the best time.

Genting Highlands

A weekend escape to Genting was a great experience for both the kids. They were having so much fun, from 11am to 11pm. Pity mum and dad as needed to stand the whole day watching the 2 kids having fun.

Ride de Paris - the most fun ride that they can have.

Koko is helping Didi with the seat belt. Lucky that Koko is around to help Didi.

Rio Float - Koko insisted he wana ride on the dragon. We took all of the carriage - 6 of them. The most enjoyable for Hubby and I as we got to sit down in a longer time.

Bumper car. Didi is very cautious. He is so anxious that he only ride in a very slow pace. If anyone bang him, he'll stop and waited till everyone move away before he moved again. Eventually, he still preferred to ride with Koko. Be the passenger. He enjoyed the ride better while Koko is training on his driving skill.

Gunung Jerai

24 December 2012 - last trip of the year..

It was a short trip - 1hrs drive from KM to Gurun, 2hrs stayed on top of the hill and 1hrs drive home.
The last time when I were in Gunung Jerai was after my SPM 1995 with couple of good friends. We hike up, so I never really been to the very top of the hill. The resort is quite impressive. The maintenance is superb. Flowers, garden and building is impressive. It will be very relaxing to stay at the resort. Relax... without any disturbance.. no civilization.. Maybe the next time, we may opt to stay in the resort..

Langkawi - Pantai Cenang

Before heading home, we dropped by at Pantai Cenang. Though it is nearby and we went there couple of time, we don't really take the chance to be on the beach. It was a clear morning and it was a good time to be on the beach.

Langkawi- Oriental Village & Cable Car

Oriental Village is located at the bottom of the cable car. You'll need to be there to get to the cable car area.
It's free entrance and kids can have a lot of fun too. Fish feeding, rabbit feeding, ride elephant (this is expensive, but i guess it'll take you for a big round, playground and snake photo session).

It was very hot.
