Discourse Community Analysis (DCA) Essay On Red Cross

I had a fair share of trouble in my college during times when my instructor would assign us essays on such complicated topics that would drive me nuts. No matter how much I googled or how much I tried looking for some good and reliable source I would always give up. So in the end, it would always be the hard way writing so many drafts until a proper essay was written. During my time in college, I had to take two composition courses which were ENGL 1301 and ENGL 1302. I am sure the names are gonna differ for your English course if you compare it with mine but the gist remains the same i.e. you won't get out without good essays. It is funny how there are thousands of websites on the internet that tells you how to write good essays in every way possible but the topics for which our essays are assigned are never up there.

To be honest I received a B in my first composition class and a perfect A on the second one which I am extremely proud of. The first time the essays got the better of me and on the second one, I absolutely aced my essays. It had been a long time since I haven't posted anything on my blog so I will be getting back by starting a little series of essays which I was asked to write on my composition classes. These essays are going to be extremely helpful for you and as always they are copyrighted and you would fall into plagiarism if you copied these and get an F in most cases. So let this be just an example and more of a guide for you to ace your essay.

This particular essay was written as a Discourse Community Analysis (DCA) Essay and it was also my first essay for composition first. My professor was very strict on having to use logos, ethos and pathos and the way it had to be written. I am also including the response towards my essay by him so you guys have an idea on how it was graded. I don't remember the exact prompt but it looked something like this, "Write a paper to me and your classmates about a time when you successfully joined a discourse community. Show us how you learned to make logos, ethos and pathos appeals which were specific to the community." Spoilers alert, I got A minus for this paper.

A Community That Matters – Red Cross

My lunch break was just over and was the turn for my social studies class. With a full appetite, I was feeling quite lazy and was not in a great mood to attend the Social studies class because it was always boring and I could never get why all those historical dates and events mattered. Luckily something caught my attention, I saw a notice that there was a general body meeting of the Red Cross circle of my school that day and those interested to join it could attend it. I thought I would rather go to this meeting instead of attending my boring class. That day I found out that I didn’t know most of the things about the Red Cross circle, how valuable the society was and a ton of amazing things it did to make this world a better place. Being in a community which cared for the wellness of every individual in need and irrespective of the differences, organized a broad range of programs, constantly indulge in social activities and develop leadership skills in a person seemed fitting to me. I had always wanted to do something that actually made a difference in the society, so I signed up the form with a strong motive to come prepared for my selection the next day. To my surprise I was selected and as I stepped outside the room before I knew I was a part of the red cross discourse community, a community that I believed mattered.

I stepped into the Red Cross circle as a member. It was not easy to get into the community because most of us think being a Red Cross volunteer is like being a member of the circle which isn’t the truth. To get into the circle first, you need to understand its fundamentals by attending a general body meeting. There you know what Red Cross is and all the awesome things it does to make the world a better place. Then you go to the selection stage where the existing members of the circle will interview you about your interest in joining the community. They expect you to demonstrate your knowledge and reasons why this group seemed fitting to you. After the selection when you are officially the part of the community, there are certain codes that you are expected to follow as long as you are in the community such as mutual respect, understanding, being unselfish and accepting your mistakes. To be a real member of the Red Cross circle I had to wipe away my nervousness when talking with new people in the community, listen to the instructions correctly and express my views and ideas about the discussion. There is a hierarchy of positions in the circle with the president at the top and the member being the lowest and everyone is expected to do their works accordingly. Sometimes I used to feel intimidated when working as a team with members that I didn’t know and during programs, the circle conducted because I was completely new to this. I used to talk personally with every member of the community and time and again ask for help without hesitation because others were more than willing to help me adjust to the community which ultimately helped remove those inconveniences.

The real challenges come when you have been in the Red Cross circle for a while. It’s not enough to just get selected because members are often critiqued by others out of the circle for not being able to live by the high standards of the organization. Even though you may want to do social works you are still in school, so you need to keep up with your studies as well as contribute to the growth of the circle. After adjusting for the group and taking part in simple events, I participated in some big ones. Compared to other members of the group I was good with my studies, so I had no restrictions and had greater time to spend on the circle of which I took great advantage of participating in a lot of district-level seminars and training. I went to the Cancer seminar conducted by the Cancer hospital only once in a couple of years, attended first aid training and frequently volunteered for the relief programs representing my school. I was never late for any of my meetings and always worked hard in both small as well as big events and rarely committed mistakes. My contributions were recognized by everyone in the circle as well as by my teachers and advisors and were eventually promoted from member to vice-president step by step. The more I took part in such events and programs the more I became a confident person. I left placing my ego in front, thus my want to help others in need grew. My leadership skills took a drastic boost, and soon everyone respected me, and I was established as a credible member.

Red Cross is a non-profit organization, and the circle was run by individuals who chose to help others out of their own will. There were moments when it felt it just wasn’t worth all our work and time when our activities were not seen. For instance, many of the seniors graduating who were leaving the circle were not acknowledged by the school despite their efforts which made me feel very bad. But the team always found a way to cheer up by looking at the motto of the organization which is not to be selfish and to expects the least from others so our job is to do right and rest will follow. There was this moment in my time as a member of the Red Cross circle which I shall never forget. I was newly promoted to the Vice president and in one of our meeting we were discussing how the circle had never grown drastically ever since it was created. The services and programs were pretty much the same, so the team felt if we could do something that would help the circle grow drastically we would be considered as an enormous success and as it happened all of a sudden, a new member gave an idea to go big and buy an ambulance for the circle. Now, this was a big step because economic issues would prevail and not everybody was willing to take the risk. But if we could manage it then the services would have increased exponentially. We took a vote, and the result was affirmative which caused a lot of distress in the circle. Despite the risk, we trusted each other, and so we began working hard on the advertising programs, and everybody tried their best to spread out the information on every possible platform. I visited a couple of schools and explained to them our situation and asked for help. The result was beyond our expectations as we could raise funds for the ambulance. Even while handling the money there were a lot of problems because sometimes the transactions would be confusing and sometimes people didn’t provide us the amount they first agreed to. There were times when we thought our goal won’t come right but we didn’t give hope and as a team kept worked hard and at the end when it was a success the joy I felt was literally overwhelming. As a team, we had come through so much despite our difference and still managed to do a lot which was considered pretty good for a bunch of teenagers. Here I learned what it felt to tackle difficulties and also how it felt to achieve something as a team and both of those were overwhelming.

I was a part of the red cross circle until recently when I graduated school and came to the US for higher education. This discourse community was an integral part of my life which was a vital element for the development of my personality. It has helped me to become a better version of myself. An important thing to me being successful in this discourse community is that I really enjoyed it as well as all the obstacles it came with. It was not easy, but as time passed, I developed skills and memories within the community that I know I will carry with me for the rest of my life even if I am no longer a part of the community, it still matters.

My Instructors' Response

He responded that it was a really nice work I did with my essay because it was crisp and clear. He was able to understand my essay crystal clear evidently because of the choice of the group. He did felt it was shorter than what he had expected it to be but despite that whatever content I had did help me out against my length of the essay. For the next time, he suggested me to add a couple of pages more. He specifically praised the ending of my essay because of the way they did an astounding job on giving examples and with some analysis on why it matters which matched the title as well. While I didn't get the same kind of response for the beginning paragraphs because they relied heavily on description and suggested if I had kept the same amount of detail as I did on my later paragraphs it would have been better and I would have been able to match the length of my essay as well. Overall he really enjoyed the essay from the smart introduction to the well-crafted illustration of the ambulance and said it was well done and that I should be proud of it. He was eager for my next essay as well after reading this one.

Event Report on Business Etiquette

Hello, guys, I hope you are doing well. I haven't posted here in a while, but now I am back with an event report. As a student of electrical engineering, I had to take Intro to EE 1201 in which students were required to write at least 2 event reports which were conducted every now and then in the university. These speakers talked about general topics related to engineering and were considered appropriate for the level and scope of the course. The two event reports counted for 5% of final course grade. Today I am sharing you the event report that I wrote on Business Etiquette which was discussed by personnel from the curriculum development center of my university.

Business Etiquette

The lecturer Mrs. Nikki Dickens was from The Lockheed Martin Career Development Center, and she discussed Business Etiquette in her lecture. She started off with some definitions of Business etiquettes and then moved towards the examples of business etiquette and various other tips on life after a college degree. She interactively explained all this, so everyone was paying proper attention.

Business etiquettes generally mean understanding and respecting the fact that there are norms and values. We should have a mutual agreement with others which would help to create an environment where others feel comfortable through real connection with others. Mrs. Dickens talked about the proper way to do a handshake which is to look up in the eye and firmly shake hands for a couple of seconds with a smile. Then we got to know where to place a name tag which is on the right shoulder so that while doing the handshake others can see and know your name quickly. While you are in a business place or a social function the best way to meet up is to introduce to a person standing alone because it is not regarded as a satisfactory manner to disturb others who are talking with each other very closely. Moving on, when you introduce certain persons in a business introduction you should introduce the lower status individuals to the important one.

When you are in a meeting and your phone rings, then it is best to apologize and keep your phone in silent/flight mode because talking out loud there would seriously hurt your status. If it is critical, then express your apologies and quickly receive your call and attend the meeting immediately since the person whom you are with takes priority. While communicating with business people you should keep it professional and keep about 3 feet distance. When you are talking on the phone, you should greet with your name and ask how you can help them so that you sound formal. Holding out the door for someone is an excellent way to show your business etiquette. If by any chance you have a heated email exchange then it’s probably best to resolve as soon as possible either by changing the medium or any other means because you don’t want to get in trouble during your first stages.

Finally, she concluded the lecture by mentioning how important it is to connect with others when you are in business. You should have a proper e-mail, phone as well as meeting etiquette if you want to succeed in your business. You can use tips such as learning co-worker’s names, accepting or initiating lunch invitation, recognizing others accomplishment and keeping up to date with your deadlines.

First Weeks of The University Life

I have studied my whole life in a school which consisted roughly 3000 students confined within a limited area and a couple of buildings. Then after my VISA was approved, I went to the US for my higher studies at the University of Texas at Arlington. I attended my orientation on August 15 and until today which is September 15, technically it’s just been a month, but it almost feels like ages. It was a tremendous change in every aspect for me. Today when I am writing this article I don’t feel so different but the first weeks were surely the opposite because I wasn’t used to such life.

First Day at the Orientation

I entered the university as a freshman pursuing a bachelor in Electrical Engineering. During my first day which was the day of the orientation, I had no idea how was it going to be. I woke up late and was eating during my ride to the university. I hurried to get there because there was so much traffic since it was office hour and then eventually got in time. There was a massive crowd of students in a hall who were also there for the orientation. I was intimidated slightly with the crowd, and then I was guided towards a room with several lines of students standing in a queue to get their pass, so I got into my queue and waited my turn to get the pass. We were guided towards a huge hall with lots of students, and I loved every aspect of that room beside its temperature which was way low. Then it started, and I got to know lots of information about the university, its resources and so on, everything a new student is supposed to know. All that information and the way they presented was just outstanding. The way they gave us suggestions dividing us into groups, the way they advised us to take classes that would fit our majors was fantastic. When it was over, I went home and came back tomorrow with the purpose of exploring the university. It was so huge, I didn’t even think it would be that way. I sure did some research about the area of the university but never realized it would be so huge. There were so many fountains huge buildings that it was easy for anyone new to get lost. It’s funny how even now after studying here for a month I haven’t even explored half of the university properly.

My classes started on August 24. When I arrived there, lots of students were roaming here and there. I had to go quickly and find my classes, so I entered the address of the hall and followed the map. I know this sounds crazy, but during the first couple of days, it’s good to have a map with you. When I reached to the hall, I had trouble finding the room so I went in every direction and I finally found it. I was on time. The first class at university was of English and coincidentally it was the first day at the university for my professor as well who joined the university the same time as me. With a whole bunch of students whom I never knew in my life, who had come to study from far and near, it was a pleasant experience in an entirely different environment. I attended two more classes and then went home. For a couple of weeks, I was going to the university getting home doing assignments and so on. They teach a lot of things in a short time that it’s hard to take a leave for a day because it’s going to get piled up the next day. As an EE major (Electrical Engineering major) I expected to start studying about electricity and cool stuff like circuits and so on, but it didn’t work out that way. I was forced to take classes like Politics, Math, English, Economics, MAVS 1000 and Intro to EE. Out of this only Intro to EE was a subject directly involved to my major whereas others were classes to hone my skills and prepare me for future semesters. MAVS 1000 is a first-year experience course for freshman students aiming to make the first year more engaging and helping to understand the aspects of the university.

The best thing possibly of the university life is its events. You know, a university has so many students who are engaged in so many groups that it’s kind of weird if you don’t become a part of one. Everyone remains involved in one way or another. The university itself conducts tons of events especially for freshman so that we can meet new people on a regular basis and have a momentous year ahead. Most of these events happen during the first few weeks of the university, so it’s essential you stay nearby the university if you don’t want to miss those. Till date, I have been to about 10 events, and all of them were incredibly entertaining. They give you free t-shirts and food and stuff like that to encourage you to go and be a part of it. Just yesterday I went to the volleyball game of my university versus another who came all the way from California. It was my first time in a stadium watching a match with my friends. All that noise, the game, and the stadium were a fabulous such that even I was occasionally screaming for my team.

When you study at a university in the US, you are always a part of something bigger than you can imagine. I have made so many friends across the globe who speak multiple languages, and it feels great to interact with them, telling them my experiences and listening to theirs. Most of the student bring their laptop to take notes, and it’s a requirement for doing homework’s because you need to submit them online. My order got canceled because of some issues, so it came late, and for a week I didn’t have a laptop. So, I used to go the library and do it over there. The library was so vast, and it remains open all the time. You need to swipe your ID card in most of the places to get in. The Mavericks Activities Center (MAC) is my personal favorite which consists of gyms, games, swimming pools and so on. I go there often and play games with my friends.

To sum up, the university life is a busy life where you are expected to study hard by your faculties and family. But it can be much more than that. In this first couple of weeks, I have experienced so many things that it feels excellent to have all this. This was pretty much the experience I had in my first couple of weeks. There is a lot of things that you need to keep in mind, such as the resources, the deadlines, the organizations, events and so on. In future, I expect to have the similar sort of experience. While I want to study well and graduate in time to become an electrical engineer I also hope to participate in various programs/events, make new friends, utilize the resources of the university as well as represent my university in some sort of game which would be a lifetime experience.

The F1 Visa Interview, The Entire Process

F1 VISA

Finally, the day is here, the US VISA interview day. After waiting for so long, all those efforts put forward starting from practicing Math and English for securing higher marks in SAT’s as well as writing essays and for getting affordable I20s. The day that decides all, whether you get to follow your dream to study abroad or you are declined. The interview which is not even 5 mins at all decides your future and in some ways, it doesn’t seem fair in comparison with all those hard works done to be where you are right now, but it is what it is so deal with it. I do hope personally that someday the system changes and the interviewers will find a better approach, at deciding who gets accepted and who gets denied, rather than asking a few random questions in a very short period.

Your VISA is gonna look like this

Before I begin, I would like to mention that this article is based on my personal experience and the experience of countless other students that I came across during my study abroad process. This is not something that I made up on my own or something very ideal to apply. Also as a fellow student who got a US visa and is currently studying in the United States, you guys need not worry about the reliability of the contents here.

This article is all about knowing what a VISA interview mean, what is it like to give an interview, what are the various parts of the interview, how do we prepare for the interview, and so on. I know there are bunch of site’s out there as well as consultancies and genius people who already have this information but this article is from a student’s perspective and contains literally everything in one big page for your convenience which I believe others do not have so it’s going to be really easy for you to read it. So, let’s begin;

To make it easy for you guys to understand I will break the entire interview process into 5 stages;

1. Getting your documents ready

This was a bit naïve of me to mention but I did anyway, the first thing to make sure is that you have all those documents with you required for the interview. I know all of you are serious about the abroad study process and will obviously have your documents, but I have come across many who fail to do so. So, I have shortlisted most of the documents mandatory for you to gather;

· I20 from the college you got accepted as well as the acceptance letter

· Passport

· Transcripts

· Standardized Tests Certificate (SAT/GRE/TOEFL)

· Personal Photographs (it’s not mandatory but sometimes it’s required)

· Certificates of extracurricular activities (not mandatory but it’s a great thing to have)

2. Scheduling your interview date

Now by this stage you have all the documents required to schedule an interview date. You can schedule an interview 120 days prior to the course starting date mentioned on your I20. You have a total of 3 chances for the interview within a year and if you don’t get through within those 3 chances you must wait for another year. You must make two payments here, the first being a fee for the VISA interview date which is called a visa application fee which is of course non-refundable. You do this online by filling out the DS-160 Form and print out the submitted form which you will be taking to the consulate where your interview takes place. You can just google “DS-160” and you will find the official site of U.S. Department of State where you can also find the guidelines for filling it out. Remember to enter all the credentials correctly and accurately as it is very important so you will not face trouble during the interview day.

The second payment you need to make is the SEVIS fee. It stands for student and exchange visitor information system. You ought to make the payment at least 1 week earlier than the interview day. It is a system used by the US government to keep track on non-immigrant students, exchange visitors and their dependents. After you make the payment print out the receipt as you will need to show it with DS-160 form in the consulate.

NOTE: This may sound a bit vague, but based on my personal experience I found that there are comparatively less number of students who apply during the beginning half of the interview session and relatively more of them got accepted. I had my interview on May 8 so I certainly found it later to be an advantage not only for the interview but also for the fact that it gave me time to do other things after the interview.

3. Preparing for your interview

After the payments are done and you have scheduled the interview date for the college you wish to attend it’s time to prepare for the interview. It’s the hardest part to do and I know it from my experience. The worst day is the day ahead of the interview when I literally got a headache that I couldn’t manage to sleep properly. There is so much tension in all these free times and there is so few to learn that it literally feels intimidating such small things have such big influences. We literally go through the same things every day for a couple of weeks that it doesn’t feel worth it.

The first thing I am going to say is calm down. The more you go nuts the less it is going to help you. Over this free time before your interview you need to stay normal at all costs. Don’t just focus on the interview, prepare for it but don’t just let it be a thing. Do other normal things that you always did in your life so you don’t feel un-necessary pressure and tensions. For eg: I used to play soccer regularly and go out with my friends like I always did as well as prepared for my interview. Reading 24/7 is not going to help and you know it. Bur also take caution that you stay healthy and in good shape because you don’t want to get in the consulate with a broken arm or a broken leg.

The interview is taken by an American VISA officer who is trained in the discipline of getting out the required information out of you. They can literally tell you what’s going on your mind and whether you are being honest or not but still they act quite friendly. Don’t worry, they won’t ask any question that you don’t know already. The interview is about you going to study in the united states so obviously, it’s going to be about you. You can find in thousands of places and come at the same point that they are interested mainly in your study plans, your major and university choice, your academic and financial capability to study and your motive after completing your studies. Take a deep thinking on these areas and note down what you think is right.

NOTE: Don’t forget to eat and sleep properly before your interview day so that you look fresh and healthy and can make the most out of your interview.

4. The VISA interview day

Now what I wrote in the first sentence of the article comes into play, the day is in fact here. When it is time, get ready and only arrive about 15 minutes before your interview time because you won’t be allowed to enter early and there is not going to be a proper place to stay while you wait. So, go at the right time with all the documents you need. Wear a decent uniform and not just your regular ones like a shirt and pants. You don't need to over dress by wearing suitsYou will need to show the DS-160 form which comes with an appointment confirmation page to the guard who will then let you in. There is going to be a queue of students before and after you and trust me the numbers will surely be intimidating. Don’t bring unnecessary items other than your documents. You will go through series of security checks and then will be sent to a waiting hall where you will be called upon your turn. When your turn comes first you will give your biometrics (fingerprint scanning) and then will be assigned in a line with applicants waiting for the interview. I remember how difficult it was to breathe in that environment while I was waiting for my turn in the line. Right in front of us, inside the booth where the VISA officers were interviewing the students. The mixed emotions of joy and sorrow, the sheer rate by which students were declined a VISA for a small reason was surely intimidating. Keep your cool and slowly progress. You can drink water and use rest rooms throughout your waiting period. At last you are sent to an officer and your interview starts. Remember to greet him and smile all your way through. Slowly pass the asked documents only and reply only the required answers in a confident way. Don’t feel nervous and hesitate or show any sign of weakness and I know it is easier said than done but the fact is those officers are trained to extract the essential content out of you even if it means taking advantage of your weakness. When the interview is over in a couple of minutes, the officer will give you their answer (either accepted or rejected).

5. Outcomes of the interview

The outcome of the interview is clear, either accepted or rejected. You might think what an idiot I am to even mention this but there is more to this that meets the eyes. If you are accepted than it’s totally cool but if you are rejected than you need to understand what are the types of rejection and move forward. Let us simply keep these two outcomes in bullets for you to understand;

· Accepted:

If you are accepted than congratulations, all those weeks of tensions and pressure are over. After your interview, you will need to go to the payment counter and pay another fee for issuing the VISA. You will need to give your passport to them so they can print the actual VISA on your passport and go home or party or wherever you like ... just kidding! You will have to wait for a couple of days before you get your passport. You will get an email from the consulate as to where and when will you be able to retrieve your passport. After that it’s time for further arrangements like shopping, flight tickets and so on. But that is another story for next time.

· Rejected:

Not everyone gets a VISA, in fact most of the students don’t get it so if you have got one, cherish it. The pain of rejection is very painful because we practiced so hard and waited so long for getting accepted. Everyone had such high hopes yet we managed to disappoint them all. But speaking as someone who was initially rejected, don’t get too depressed or sad just because you were rejected because there is a saying that nothing is over until it is really over. And getting rejected on your interview day isn’t even the halfway of the over line. If you are rejected you will receive either Yellow or Pink paper, mine was pink though. Let’s learn more about those;

a) Yellow Paper;

If you got an Yellow paper that means you are rejected completely by the officer and the main reason is they didn’t find an intent of you to return to your country or they didn’t find you have an intention to be a student. I don’t if it is true but sometimes I have found interviewers randomly filtering some students, I have no idea why they do that, they provide you with a Yellow paper. After getting a Yellow paper, you still have two more shots with your interview so don’t worry. You can take another interview date often referred as second attempt where you will be interviewed by a different officer and not the same one who rejected you. You will have to pay another sum of VISA application fee but not the SEVIS fee. Even after your second attempt you get rejected there’s a third attempt but after that it’s over for the year. You cannot have more than three attempts at your interview within a year as mentioned earlier in the post so you will have to wait for another year. You will have to restart everything right from the beginning and all your information will have been removed from the consulate.

NOTE: Just to let you guys know, I came across a student once who got a US VISA after a grand total of 6 attempts. So never give up on your dream.

b) Pink Paper;

This is a little trickier than the Yellow paper and the one I got on May 8. I still remember the day when I got a Pink paper and I literally cried just because I got rejected. At that time, I was the only one who received it because it is given rarely, compared to Yellow paper which they seem to hand out every now and then.

The Pink Paper

I believe I told you the main thing required for you to study is the financial capability and the academic capability. When the officer gets the slightest hint that you are not financially capable of affording your studies then they tend to issue you a pink paper. Other times they hand out a pink paper is when you are required to submit additional documents or your application needs further processing. This happens rarely because you already how expensive it is going to be and you won’t be here unless you can pay for it. So, it’s not exactly a rejection, rather a temporary hold on your application. I found out later about and quickly gathered my financial documents and in a couple of days I was called to inform that my visa was approved and I had to come to the consulate to the VISA issuance fee and to submit my passport and get my financial documents.

So here it was guys, a summary of getting your F1 Visa starting from getting your documents all the way to the outcome of your interview. I am not perfect that I am aware so if you feel there is anything I need to add to make this article more resourceful than you are more than welcome to post a comment. My Journey to USA For Higher Education

After high school graduation, I was left with a lot of time to think about future. Many of my colleagues had already thought what they were going to do. I figured it wasn’t really an appropriate period since the tortures of high school were just over, so I went on vacations and visited many places. I went to visit places of India like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Haridwar and so on. It was based on a religious tour with many oldies so it was kind of peaceful and spiritual trip which really helped me to be a calmer and a friendly person. Then after visiting places of Nepal, it felt like the right to start thinking about future. I always wanted to study Electrical Engineering and become a person who fixed problems such as a power engineer or a plant supervisor. And then a new chapter begun.

There was a portion of my friends and relatives who advised me to study in my home country because they thought I just graduated from high school and was not simply old enough to handle the responsibilities that came with studying abroad. In a sense, they were right because I never stayed apart from my home, from the beginning to the point when I graduated high school. Our community is based on that manner so I didn’t really have a say on that subject. Moving on there was a portion who advised to study in neighboring countries like India, Bangladesh, and so on. They were excellent options, and a good number of students went for that because by adopting this advice we could do well in a perfect environment, a good university or college, and be near to home. So, it was a win-win scenario for a student who wanted to study abroad at the same time didn’t want to be homesick. But I wanted more, as in I wanted to be literally exposed to everything there is in this world. All those years where my script was already fixed, and I was forced to study as the society wanted and obliged to do as others wanted me to have taken a toll on me. Personally, even though I like Republicans, I am a very democratic person when it comes to freedom because I believe freedom is something everyone gets as their birth rights and literally no one can steal it from them. So, they should be only guided and not be forced to live their lives in a way they don’t want. That’s why in a search for a sense of freedom, to study in a well-recognized university in an education system which would take me to the highest level I kept the United States in mind.

The American Dream Was About To Become A Reality

I went to the capital and enrolled in some of the classes to know what’s actually required for going to the United States. We need to be proficient in English so, there was this test, TOEFL which evaluated my English. For scholarships and other academic requirements, I had to give SAT exams. I took the tests in October. I got 101 on TOEFL and 1300 on SAT which was not really great though. Then I submitted my scores to a couple of universities and filled out the application form. After a couple of months, I got my acceptance letter and I-20’s. From the advice of my friends and families, I chose to go to the University of Texas Arlington because it was an outstanding university with a diverse community and excellent research opportunities. And so, I booked a date for my Visa interview on May 8, 2017. It was a long time to wait till then. Trust me, I always prayed every morning so the days passed quickly and my interview will come soon, but it never happened. Eventually, the moment came, and I appeared for my interview, I got my VISA, I was delighted, and then I booked my ticket for July 28, 2017. I will talk about the entire VISA interview process in my next post including some happy and sad moments I was forced to witness.

After the interview, there was nothing but joy in everyone’s faces because not everyone gets a chance to study in the United States and while the number of students getting the visa may contradict my statement but its ratio of the total number of applicants will prove it. After that, I went back home to my family. I spent my days casually playing, sleeping, eating, working occasionally and so on. The only thing I did which mattered was that I took the driving course because knew I had to know how to drive because everyone in America drives so I learned it, and it was a pleasant experience. Again, this is another story for me to tell in my next posts guys. And then I started shopping for clothes, shoes, stationaries and other important things I needed to have with me while going to the States. And then the day of the flight came. My friends and families were sad because I was leaving them for a very long time at such a young age, but I assured them that it was for a good reason and when I return I will have grown up to be a man they all wanted me to be. I had two other siblings with me going at the same time. My flight was on 7:00 pm I guess. It was my second time flying on an international flight, (the first happened when I was about 6 years old, so I don’t really remember) so I was excited. All those new faces who were traveling with me and the flight attendants made me feel awesome for a while. It was a Korean Airlines flight, so my transit was in Seoul city and trust me on this one guys, it was the best Airport I had ever seen. It was so vast and beautiful that I literally had goosebumps the entire time the flight landed. The meals were delicious, and my trip was enjoyable. Within a day we landed at DFW airport, and it took me a while to realize that, I HAD LANDED ON THE UNITED STATES. It was a dream come true, and I was very excited.

It took a while to wait for my turn in the port of entry, and after that, we had to go under several tests which were mainly for security purposes. I was sent to the Agriculture department because I had brought some foods with me, so it took some extra time. By then we had already contacted our relatives who were to pick us up at the airport. They were very excited as well because all 3 of us passed thousands of miles together from home and arrived in the States. The exit door opened and the first thing I realized was it was scorching in Texas at that time. We loaded our luggage on their car’s and were off the airport. I was dazzled with the road of Texas, how beautiful and how crowded they were. It was about 20 mins drive to home, but it felt like only a couple of minutes because of all the excitement, and my body was tired as well. And so, a new chapter began as we set foot in the apartment. It was a wonderful journey.

After High School, What Next?

In every stage of our life, our instructors say to us: “When this is over, you are good for the rest of your life,” as well as make statements like: "there won’t be a hard time after this." The truth is, such sayings are repeated, and when it finally comes true is when we are buried inches down in dirt. But there was this point after high school when I felt it came to be almost right. After so many years of studying at different schools, meeting new friends and talking with so many teachers on a regular basis-not to mention those rigorous exams and presentation-there is this feeling of relief that every high school student feels. Personally, my group of friends celebrated wildly and so did I. When you are in highschool, your body and mind is set to wake up early, think about homework and other various assignments that it’s literally like a living hell. That leaves a great deal of aftershock even if you have graduated highschool.

After high school which way you want to go?

I remember the day after my graduation when I woke up on time and was about to take a bath and wear my uniform and think about what to do today suddenly my mom said, “You don’t have to go to school.” AH! I am a highschool graduate now. Those schedules and lame assignments don’t bother me anymore and then I got back to bed and slept for a while. This happened a couple of times but then I got used to not going to school and trust me it’s very hard. All those years under the same environment and suddenly everything changes, it’s hard to get adjusted to a new life. The mindsets don’t go easily and you start missing your highschool and that’s when in a snap of finger, all those good aspects of your memories when you were in highschool comes to you. Well that’s what it is, we will cover this topic another time …!

Moving on, after highschool, for a period, everyone is free to do as per his/her's will. For a moment, it does feel like everything is over. You are provided with many choices and the judgements of your parents and the society do not bother you anymore. You don’t have to care about reading something your parents want neither should you live under the expectation of others. This is the time of transition when you should really take various considerations in mind. There will be so many choices that we literally get swayed away: sometimes we get a thought to study engineering and find solutions, sometimes we get a thought to become a doctor, sometimes it’s the thought of being a player and so on and so forth. The idea of earning money suddenly becomes more evident and clear as well as the chances and prospects. You are no longer a kid and you should look out for yourself. But all these choices can be categorized into two basic things:

Do you want to excel on whatever you have interest on and do something in future? Do you want to take another step in your studies and join college?

Do you want to give up, it’s too much for you already and you don’t want to waste your life studying, so you work part time and life the rest of your life?

These are two choices that will define what you want to become and do in future. These are two choices no one can force you to choose because it’s your life and you get to make the decisions for yourself. And whatever you choose you will have to live with it for the rest of your life. I know people say it’s never late to do anything and there are examples of unexpected people doing exceptional things in their life, but the thing is it’s not completely realistic and not everyone is outstanding. This transition period is the only place where you get to make this decision, and when this passes it’s hard to turn, I could even say it’s impossible. It's because everyone and everything have their time and there is something so mystical about time that it never waits for anyone and when it passes it’s over.

If you choose the second one then it’s okay you did well. You are tired of everything and want to take a break. You can always work and earn and live your life and have a very good time. It’s up to you as to how you use your time and resources. Maybe it was fate which made you choose this way, maybe it was trying to make you learn something that you couldn’t have learnt in college. Maybe you are going to be more successful in your life than those who go to college would be. You can never be too sure about life, the failures and success it brings and the magnitude of changes it makes us experience is truly intimidating. Most of us choose the first option and personally I did the same thing. I joined a university for my bachelor’s degree and hopefully I will take it even further. This way to be bold, you can study and make your future even brighter because in this era of modernism, education person is the greatest key to success and every person needs to have education weather it is formal or informal succeed. You don’t just get it you will have to earn it through hard work and labour.

To sum up, the first thing I discussed about in this article, the things the instructor often say to us students, “After this it will be all over”, they are not wrong for being optimist since they only say that to inspire us to read well so we can get better education. But the fact that during the transition from high school to college, personally I believe this is the point when it’s all over in a sense because we take a decision here. The decision to choose which way we want to go and this is the hardest thing we will ever do because both choices seems to be so very swaying that it literally feels like we are in a paradox. But when this is done we will have get past the tallest peak of obstacles we will have in our life and maybe there will be hard times ahead, but nothing will compare to the level of discomfort and confusion we had to bear when we decided which way to go. It's because it’s the way we will be going forever and it’s not something we get to do again. So take a moment, think about what your interests are and what you want to do in your life and make the decision and shape your future because the things which will follow you in future would be things you expected to come when you had to decide. And you chose this way because at that particular point with full consent you knew you will keep your promises.

As a student of mathematics and science, I found geometry among one of my favorite subject since the very start. In the long run with geometry from a small age to the high school completion I managed to get a great deal on knowledge not only on what "Geometry" meant but also the trends in which geometry was taught in various times in various places. So today I present to you my summarized research on geometry and its trends of being taught.

An application of geometry

Let's begin from the very start.

Introduction to geometry:

Geometry means measurement of the earth. It is a branch of mathematics which studies the properties of shapes. Geometric concepts were developed from the beginning of the civilization. The importance and essentiality of geometry was felt with the development and utility of geometrical concepts. Geometry has not been developed at once. It has been in an evolution phase since the start and it's still the case at present. So its teaching and learning must be reformed in order.

Why to study/teach Geometry in School:

Geometry should be taught in school because;

It is key to mathematical thinking.
It develops the ability to draw accurate plans.
It enables the students to acquire a mass of geometrical facts.

ICMI (International Mathematical Union) feels an urgent need for an international study, whose main aims should be focused as;

To identify important challenges and emerging trends for the future and to analyze their potential didactical impact.
To exploit and implement new teaching methods.

Many undulating changes have been brought in this world by Science and technology. We can find numerous miraculous achievements in the arena of science and technology. But behind the success of it, there has been a great and vital role of energy, the like of which can aggravate and entangle Stone Age into a magnificent and luxuriant era. Mainly energy can be categorized into two types; Renewable energy that includes perpetual ones, which can be generated time and again such as solar energy, wind energy, hydroelectricity, etc. and the other non-renewable energy which cannot be generated if finished once like coal, petrol, minerals, etc.

Unfortunately, today the requirement of energy has reached up to the zenith but the amount of energy source is in the situation of emission. Because of the increment of modern civilization and population, the limitation of the use of energy has stunted. The scientists predict that above 80% of the present world is depending upon non-renewable sources while the rest 20% is living on renewable sources. Among them, 40% is depending on the oil. 20% on coal and natural gas each, 10% on wood, 7% on nuclear fusion and 3% on hydroelectricity power. It has been delineated that the role of consumption of energy is out-pacing at the rate of 2.3% each year. If the same consumption rate continues then by the year 2037 A.D., the source of energy in the globe will be emptied and condition will be welcomed which can baptized as “Energy Crisis”.

A single country is not an exception in this case. As the developing and underdeveloped countries are not so much developed and industrialist, it is good to know that they are a little bit safer in this case. But still some countries are facing the dearth of fuels to run vehicles, industries and even day-to-day activities. The effect of energy crisis is not only responsible towards the difficult life of people; rather it has become a challenge for the development of least developed countries.

Energy crisis is burning in such situation like that of the pillars which cannot even hold the building. It is not needed to elaborate that the pillars overcome all pressure of the building but if the pillars are feeble, can you imagine what will be the condition of the building? No one can pursue any development work in the absence of energy. Though we proudly say Brazil is the first richest and Nepal second in terms of water resources, it has fallen in the ditch where there is no place from where the light can pass. The people including the students have been living in the place that is extreme to the oasis, where we can achieve nothing except the “lacks. If this condition continues then, the diligence of all students as well as other people will be as water poured in the sand.

Henceforth, it is the foremost issue of today’s world along with each and every citizen to be prevented from the sultry effect of energy crisis. On the auspicious note of this, all the individuals of domicile must go hand in hand and tackle this problem. The government must go hands on rather than being mouthy and it should be deemed about this disaster. Otherwise all the individuals must be proxy to eradicate this national problem, the people should ponder to tap the existing source of energy by seeking the alternative, innovative and renewable source in place of non-renewable sources. Solar energy and hydroelectricity must be utilized fully in all parts of the nation. Above all, the population should be controlled and the people should always be alarmed about the possible harms of energy crisis as well as not to waste the sources of energy as far as possible.

Therefore, in order to erase the wide-spreading energy crisis and to live in heavenly earth, government and even the individuals must be aroused. It is the responsibility of every conscious individual to make their respective nations better. At last but not the least, having known all the effects of energy crisis and its mitigating measures, shouldn’t all the individuals unite to make the nation amenity? Yes, we should.

A Thrilling Journey To Another Realm

Out of nowhere I am in a very dark forest. Everything is completely new to me. I think I have arrived in a different realm. I am searching for a way to get out of here. Evil laughter echoed in the dark forest. After a while a strange voice of a woman shouted, “You have no place to hide. Just surrender yourself. You pathetic fool.”

My heart practically froze in terror. I ran though I didn’t have a single clue to where I was going. The woman’s voice now seemed to come closer and closer. I ran as fast as my feet could take me and I plunged forward into the bush and suddenly fell into a large hole. I dropped hard on my back and found myself in a cave. I had finally reached my destination. There was a woman who was tied in a pole while two little creatures circled around her. These creatures looked like alligators but had no tail. They had long sharp claws and looked as if they could cut a rod into halves. I knew I had to rescue her but all I had was a knife. I slowly creeped towards the creature and picked up a stone which was just lying on the floor. I hurled it towards one of the creature and hit it without missing. The creature cried in agony and other jumped furiously upon me. I fell on my back and just stuck the knife into one. What had i done? What have I become? In complete mental shock I again started to run. I was running out of breathe. I had been running hard. Then I saw a light just ahead. A glimmer of hope was shown to me. I slowly walked to avoid any sort of calamity, it was a village. "Thank god" was what I saying and then I reached a bus-stop with a sinking heart.

A Journey To Another Realm

Alas! There was not a single sight of anyone. It became clear no buses came at that moment. After that long chore through the woods I was already late. I heard some rustling sound behind my back and turned around swiftly. I took out my knife as my mind was thumping harder and faster, but nothing was behind me. I breathed a sigh of relief and put my knife down. Then from nowhere, I heard a shriek. It was high-pitched so I thought it must have been of a women. I had to go and help her or those beasts would skin her and suck all her blood just leaving mass of muscles and bones. That’s what they had done to my friend Peter. The ruthless beasts got him and showed no mercy. I felt that saving that women’s life was more important.

I ran back into woods. Darkness fell upon me once again. Not a single ray of light could pass through the trees of that very thick forest. It dropped dead and motionless. I quickly untied the women but there was something strange about her. Her eyes were glowing like two red rubies. My hands shaked with fear and my knife fell down. This scared the hell out of me and I just ran away with fear and tripped over to find myself beside my bed on the floor with my little sister's doll in my hands.

What a dream it was !!

As I said in my previous SOP, here is the third version of SOP for undergraduates and this is for Computer Science.

NOTE: This SOP was written for Computer Science so if any of you guys are applying for a different faculty you will have to change the details accordingly. Also as always, I don't emphasize you to copy it.

Considering the fact that engineering plays a vital role in our lives than ever before, I find myself pretty lucky to be in this era of 21^st century. Looking around, I observe numerous devices that are innovated and designed by engineers. This fills me with great passion and eagerness to be a part of this prolific system of creativity and ingenuity. My interest in engineering grew when I got my first computer. I was very fascinated about computer programming language and different electronic gadgets. Soon thereafter, computer became as my hobby.

Talking about my high school studies, I successfully completed my School Leaving Certificate (SLC) with _____% and Higher Secondary Examination Board (HSEB) with ____%. I always had a dream to study in USA since my school days. So, soon after the completion my 10+2 (HSEB) level education I started TOEFL iBT and SAT preparation classes. Simultaneously, I gave my TOEFL and SAT test and scored ___ and _____ respectively. As a matter of fact, I used to be very excited when our school offered computer as a subject. I ranked ‘A’ grade in my Boards for computer. Besides learning about computers in school, I also started attending computer courses outside the school which really helped me to learn more and explore the world of computer. Thus, computer engineering was not a difficult choice for me to take it as my career.

As I mentioned earlier, my course of study is Bachelor of Computer Engineering. I prefer this course because it is the subject of my interest from my childhood. Since my score in computer subject has always been excellent in both school and higher secondary level, it shows how much interest I have in this field. Undoubtedly, my ambition is to become a professional computer engineer. After all, this course will give me an opportunity to pursue my skills, experience and knowledge in software and hardware industries in Nepal. I feel that undergraduate studies at your university will be the most logical extension of my academic pursuits and a major step toward achieving my objectives.

I choose USA because of its reputation for renowned higher education programs. Due to small class sizes, highly accredited professors, advanced technology and research capabilities, world’s top universities are located in the US. Obtaining a degree from one of the world’s best higher education systems will distinguish me from peers with similar backgrounds and career experiences. The goal of US education is pragmatic, so that I will gain confidence and the ability to organize and present an argument. Many employers understand that people who have taken the initiative to live and study outside of their home country are motivated, flexible and independent than those who have never lived abroad. In addition to excellent English Language skills, my time in the USA will demonstrate that I am able to take on new challenges and adapt to new situations with ease.

Particularly, I choose ___________________ University. The major reason is that it provides excellent quality of education. Besides, it provides a great opportunity to learn about other cultures too. Features that attract me are the convenient bus facility and a very nice library. In the same way, _____ is one of the most affordable universities around for international students since it provides excellent amount of scholarships for deserving students. Statement Of Purpose (SOP) For Undergraduates Part 2

As I said in my previous SOP post, here is the second version of SOP for undergraduates and this is for Mechanical Engineering.

NOTE: This SOP was written for Mechanical Engineering so if any of you guys are applying for a different faculty you will have to change the details accordingly. Also I don't emphasize you to copy it.

So let's begin!

As a child, I was always intrigued by the working of complex mechanisms and equipment. I used to spend a lot of time trying to explore and figure out their principle. In school I found myself drawn towards subjects that required in-depth analysis and logical thinking. I was awed by their simple fundamentals which form the governing basis for a lot of machinery. In order to understand these concepts I took part in science fairs and practical workshops. This exposure taught me the importance of simple and practical design. To understand the principles and practical aspects of designing a product I decided to pursue my career in engineering.

SOP on Mechanical Engineering

Ever since my school days, I’ve been interested in the theoretical frameworks in mathematics and Sciences, which drive the physical world. I have received _____% in my School Leaving Certificate and ____% in my Higher Secondary Education Board. Engineering, at this point of time, seems as a natural extrapolation of my abilities and interests. As a matter of fact, I worked in a workshop hosted by Philips for about four months where I was hired as a part time mechanic. The amazing task of moving the world is the monopoly of machines, so I made Mechanical engineering my choice.

After going through your website I found that by taking undergraduate studies at your University, I would be able to venture out into various subject domains and also develop a strong sense of independence coupled with responsibility and self-reliance. It would also help me learn global standards in this field and become aware of the worldwide competition, which I consider would be a great help for me to make a strong contribution in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Besides it provides very appreciable student teacher ratio. Your university with its unique undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering and with its commitment to foster intellectual excellence is remarkable and attractive to embark upon an academic career.

My interest in mechanics started out as a mere curiosity and casual pursuit, but has steadily evolved into a central part of who I am today. I’ve learned leadership, communication, and business skills that literally define who I am today. I’ve learned that innovation and new ideas are crucial in creating anything successful and worthwhile in today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape. Increased globalization has created a higher demand for talented employees, who speak multiple languages, have international experiences and are able to quickly adapt to new professional environments. Degree at your university will make me able for it.

My dream is to push the envelope of mechanical technology past its existing boundaries and limitations. I’m not afraid to break tradition; to do things better than they’ve been done before. I like the idea of creating something that has value to those who use it. There is still a lot to be learned about machines and electricity, and I plan to be on the forefront of new developments. ____________________________ with its team of highly motivated and industrious undergraduate students would hence be the ideal start to my career. I can assure you that given a chance I shall strive to live up to the expectations.

Statement Of Purpose (SOP) For Undergraduates Part 1

Hello Guys, Today I wanted to share with you guys the application essay or the Statement Of Purpose (whatever it is called) that I wrote when I was applying for my university for my undergraduates degree. During my time I too had some difficulties but I did some researches on internet and finally came up with an essay. So here is the SOP.

NOTE: This SOP was written for Electrical Engineering so if any of you guys are applying for a different faculty you will have to change the details accordingly.

Also I don't emphasize you to copy it as it will do no good in reflecting your character. Try writing your own essay and let this be just an example.

After the completion of high school every student faces a huge task to choose what comes next. While most of the students remain puzzled and some even lose a lot of time deciding about it, this confusion never bothered me. I don't why or how but ever since the start, electrical stuffs have been interesting to me. In such a short time, these stuffs have suddenly taken over the world. When I look around, I observe numerous innovations and discoveries taking place. Thus, it kind of feels like every device I observe pushes me towards understanding how it works and eventually generates curiosity inside me. In no time that sort of interest on electrical devices came to be my hobby and now I crave to be an Electrical Engineer.

Talking about the degree, I want to study Electrical Engineering because it’s a very practical field. Here we create something, solve problems and fix things. An engineering degree is universal i.e. the mixture of physics, mathematics and electricity is same everywhere. So I always possess the option to shift from one place to another place. Also a background as an electrical engineer will help me in my future career on a variety of fields. As I undergo the course, my skills, creativity and knowledge would sharpen. But above all it’s very pleasant to know that, every step I would make as an electrical engineer, it would be to fix, create or discover something better which ultimately helps to serve humanity towards a better world. I do not just see Electrical engineering as a degree I would study and get a job; rather I see it as the pillars of future technology.

Travelling abroad for higher studies is itself a big challenge and it’s not as easy as it sounds. But my time in USA with those challenges would contribute to enhance my ability to take challenges and overcome them and this will eventually help me to nurture and grow. So I choose to adapt to this new situation and pursue my career.

Particularly I chose ________________________ because I understand that the university would provide me with the quality education according to my degree. Besides it provides very appreciable student teacher ratio. Also I would love to be in a diverse society consisting of students from various nations as I can always get to know more as a person and share my things with them. I may not be the most intelligent student but I believe I am that curious student who craves to learn and I have those requirements to reach the threshold of your university for my desired course. From the beginning I have always displayed interest on technical things, be it a torch that runs from a single cell or a complex machine such as a computer. A degree in Electrical Engineering would open a wide range of opportunities throughout the globe. I can even collaborate with my peers from another background such as Mechanical Engineering and do projects and research. With the increasing demand of electrical engineers, having international experiences who can adapt to new situation, degree in electrical engineering in ____ will assure me my success.

I do not know what future holds for me but if I get a chance to be a part of this amazing society, I am confident that I can nurture myself to my best and will not disappoint you either.

Reading Books

The store house of knowledge and wisdom is called book. Books are really great sources of knowledge and morals. A famous philosopher has said, “Good books are gold mines”. It is really true but it depends on your potential how much gold you can extract out from the mine. As a student in a school, we have textbooks fixed with us. It’s not simple to cope with those textbooks but they are not adequate for our all round development. To be an extra ordinary person, we should also read the extra books which help us to observe, understand and analyze our surrounding in our own different way.

I have also got chance to read several books. More over the teachers of my school also provide me the books which really seem to be fruitful for the students. Sometimes, I think that I am so lucky that my teachers have provided me wide opportunities for my upliftment. Books help you to create your own world and go deeper inside it. It seems that I have been into the fantasy world of Narnia, I have accompanied Sherlock Holmes and John Watson to solve the mystery of the Hound, I have helped little red riding hood to find out her grandma, I have brought snow white into life, I have clarified the relationship between all in Pride and Prejudice, I have helped Hamlet to find out the real killer of his father and I have helped pip to be a gentleman. It means that I have accomplished so many tasks of my life and they were possible because of the books I posses. Not only that, I have worked as a call centre agent with Esha, Priyanks and all others and I have found my stages of self awakening with the monk who showed great devotion for god.

It is not necessary that you have to read English books by foreign writers and only English books can help you to broaden your mental horizon. You can also go inside the world of other languages like Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, French, Dutch, etc. The books written in other languages is also heart touching and I have found a plenty of such.

Books influence you in many ways. They teach you about the culture and civilization present in different parts of the world. They teach you positive qualities such as obedience, kindness, generosity, love co-operation and so on. They teach you to be a real human being and to spend your life in an ideal manner. Books motivate, inspire and encourage you. Likewise, books can also teach you how to react in difficult or problematic conditions.

Finally, I would like to conclude that everyone must form a habit of reading books so that those very books will help you in your near future. At last, I would take this opportunity to request all the readers to read at least one book out of their text and learn how the world really is. The last but not the least,

“Books are the keys that help you peep through the window the whole world”.

Why only mothers?

A girl, every night peruses Bhagwat Gita or Bible which she in the past considered as trivial. It is just for the question that has beaten her heart with aghast. “Who is the strongest part of our life?” “Where she’d confound and other would purport. “It’s only MOTHER”. “Not satisfied with the reason. Her topic failed so bunked off school on “Mother’s Days” and reached home where dad restores, “Just because it’s Mother’s Day”. Speechless girl with tears in eyes ran inside the room. Daddy feared, if she’d be that way forever, now what life was to other was death to her. Sometimes her Daddy felt, she’d soon get over. The words of those people “A GIRL WITHOUT MOTHER AT SCHOOL ON A MOTHERS DAY”.

The pain one could conceal would she suffer. The thought of her mother’s death tore her heart and she had none to join those spare apart. She thought to close the chapter and would never revise that was the war she had fought since her mother’s demise. Her father revealed the preaching’s of Gautam Buddha which changed her gloomy mien into a pleasing one. Then found the strongest part of life as “LOVE” and “SELF-CONFIDENCE”. Who is greater “father or mother”? No one can reply this. A child needs both father and mother’s love and support in his/her life.

So, one should not compromise the parental love either father or mother. The way we are loved by our father and mother is different. Though the way is different, they both bestow same aspiration. No one’s love is trapped in our life. I confess one of the proverb “The child without father never becomes an orphan but he surely does without mother”. This is woeful instances for those who blabber “child grown without mother’s love are aggressive”. Here again I confess this whining words comparing to the devilish fellow HITLER considered as a person without heart who was brought up from his mother’s love and support. He devastated many people’s life that was innocent. And I want to show “Gautam Buddha” who preached peace and non-violence throughout the world. Pursuing his personal life he too had lost his mother in his childhood. Now, let’s engross towards the environment while being with mother and father. The world supports mother as a living god. Most of the mothers are religious and have fully faith towards God whereas most fathers don’t seem.

A mother reaches her child to be religious, early in the morning standing with flowers, crimson and incense and worship god so that our every wishes gets fulfilled. If she has to give any lessons to her child then she gives lessons amplifying the characters and teachings of various gods. She teaches her child to be like god. But a father never enalts god except for a few exception. He reveals that actions of luminary while giving lessons to his child. He never gives the instances of any god. But give lessons from the life of luminary like Mother Teresa, Florence Nightingale, Sadham Hussen, Mahatma Gandhi and Gautam Buddha whose thoughts and action rules over the world.

Though the environment and the way are different both the father and mother embolden us to be an eminent. So, don’t keep the mothers only as an icon of love and avoid father. Keep the value of things which you have. Don’t keep mothers only behind your success because your father has too big hand behind your success. Don’t make controversary between the love of father and mother. “De trop the peeuish view” i.e. “Mother is greater than father or father is greater than mother.”

Otherwise this brings hassle between father’s and mother’s love. Our life is incomplete without the love and support of both father and mother. Further my humble request don’t adumbrate such speech and view that pinch any one’s heart who doesn’t have father or mother because this behavior discourage them from doing something.

Being Human

We all are proud to say that we are human. We are the wise and the intelligent creature among all the creatures of this universe or we like to say ourselves as a wise and the intelligent creature. Is it good to tell ourselves as an intelligent creature? We all say ourselves as a human but have we done anything as a human? I want to ask this question to all so called human who are existing in this world at the moment.

Human are the strongest and the finest creature which have the capacity to rule over the universe. Although here exist millions of creature among them human are such creature who can rule over them or can conserve or destroy them. Destroying the other means destroying ourselves because we all know that nature can’t exist or can’t run rapidly in its speed when even the single creature extinct from here. Knowing these human are destroying them. They know that if they destroy them then their existence will be difficult but they are only thinking for their own profit then how can we call them human. Nowadays human have been so rude and selfish that they have forgotten being the finest creature. They have the duty to save this world. But now they are only so called finest creature because their behavior and deeds have already shown that. They are destroying the jewellery of the earth in spite of saving them.

In today’s modern society people have forgotten their duty. They all are running behind the success. In the name of getting success they are not even hesitating to sell their mother and motherland. The feeling of humanity has now only existed in saying. We can’t find such human who is like a real human. The world has now become the land of frauds. People are running behind the success without the knowing the theme of success. Only surviving oneself is not success. That is done even by dogs. In order to be a real successful human, one should make other survive. Then the success will come at your own feet.

So in today’s world it is very difficult to find the real human. Human has forgotten their duties. If this process continues to happen then obviously one day the world will not be used for the human. So being human we should think it and make it from the heart and have to work to get success because we all are the human the real winners.

To sum up in a nutshell, humans are the gift of the nature who possess the capability to destroy everything in the world, but also if molded the power in a right way it can also promote the status of the present earth to a very high degree and if this happens then the present earth will be transformed into a utopian world of wisdom where happiness will ring from the every nook and corner of the world. So we should not lose our status that we have got and in order to maintain it, we should work from the inner core of our heart.

The last but not the least, being human our reason to be successful is not because of the great things we do, but due to the numerous small things that’d done in a great and different way.

My School, My Pride

Education has the legacy of transforming individuals to responsible leaders aiming at the magic of spiritual world. It leads to people of high standard feeling and they are acknowledged on themselves. Education is a companion that accompanies us throughout our lives and it quests for medium and SKYRIDER has been a media to prompt the query of education.

A long way that we walked on this trail leading to success forever, as we look back to the past 26 years, we solute many blossoms of our garden who contributed laboriously to develop our school to a hub of education that caters to almost thousands of student with utmost love and care. Needless to mention, SKYRIDER’s education has a unique nature that moulds students to a competent, compassionate and committed citizens.

The pedagogy that the institution runs is the mode through which it acquires success. Our school has an excellent teaching faculty and a very dedicated and supported staff. Consistently hard labour of the teacher and stability in their profession is the main reason of the present day output. Skyrider has been the melting pot of the ethnic, linguistic and cultural diversity. The students are expected to enter the larger world with socially responsible goals, a lifelong appetite for learning and desire to make our universe a better place.

This school has consistently been showing outstanding performance in the academic field. One of the innovative outreach programs of this school is its fascinated indoor and outdoor curriculum. Being one of the successful products of this school is just the casual tradition that I handed to my junior. “Nothing succeeds like success”. The intelligent pursuit of excellence and a variety of activities which students are exposed in school days are intended to produce moral leaders who will champion the values of truth, justice and peace. The sayings of teachers are like a post of god. It tastes butter but sweets in a mean while. We all are just to foster it by using mechanical tools and the medium is teachers. All the caring and blooming students nurture in the tenement house leaving few of the exception. Our teachers usually get fidget with our labours. They feel like we are not competent enough for our exams and tests, but it is a fact that we are just waiting for the buzzer to ring and to show our excellent. Finally, all students did well, do well and will continue to do. That’s what each senior hands it down to its succeeding batch.

With great co-ordination of our patron, all our helping hands and an obstinate care from my teachers, parent and then my friends, we have reached to this cliff. Now and then I just want my school to become a common garden where all the flowers of different colours blossom forth to the clear day light those days when every step prints for perfection and newness develops from each and every mind.

All in all, my school is my pride, and I am proud to be a student of it. I wish it continues to soar high the sky as it had, has and will.

All Stories of Success Are Also Stories of Failures

Failure is the highway to success. Tom Watson sir; of IBM said, “If you want to succeed, double your failure rate”. If we study the history, we will find that all stories of success are also the stories of failures.

But people do not see the failures. They only see the end result and they think that person got lucky. “He must have been lucky at the right place and at the right time”. But the fact is that the success you have in your hand at the last moment overshadows your failures of past.

So examples of failures of successful people are;

Thomas Edison failed approximately 10,000 times before he got the final result of the electric bulb, which later became one of the greatest invention of his time.

Henry Ford forgot to put the reverse gear in the first car he made.

Abraham Lincoln who was one of the great president of USA, failed in business at the age of 21, was defeated in a legislative race at the age of 22, failed again in business at the age of 24, had his wife dead when he was 26, had a nervous breakdown at the age of 27, lost a congressional race at the age of 34, lost a senatorial race at the age of 45, failed in an effort to become vice president of the united states at the age 52.

William Shakespeare, the person regarded as father of English literature, failed in the very subject in grade 5.

The greatest scientist, Sir Albert Einstein, failed as many time as more than 8 in his school life in science. But he later became the man of century.

Now tell me would you call Lincoln a failure? He could have quit, hung his head in shame and gone back to his law practice. But to Lincoln, defeat was a detour, not a dead end. He had a strong commotion that whenever there is will inside you, even in the hardest situation you learn to find a way through.

Now, tell me do you consider Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Abraham Lincoln, William Shakespeare, Sir Albert Einstein, etc as failures?

I am sure confident you don’t. They succeeded in spite of problems, not in absence of problems. But to negative thinkers, it appears as though they just got lucky.

All success stories are stories of great failures. The only difference is that every time they failed, they bounced back. This is called falling forward rather than backward. You learn and move forward. Learn from your failure and keep going, learn to be victorious, not victims. Ask yourself after every set back: what did I learn from this experience? Only then you will be able to turn a stumbling block into a stepping stone.

“Successful people do not do great things; they only do small things in great way.”

A burning desire is the starting point of all accomplishment. Just like a small fire can’t give much heat, a week desire can’t produce great results. So star to work hard from this very movement.
