Next Step

After seeing videos and reading posts from other pi owners Ive decided to get help from a friend to do some DIY work on the raspberry pi.

Im unsure what we will try with it but theres lots of stuff to play with so il post what we do.

Before that though am thinking like some have to get a Motorola Lapdock and try adapting it in to a mini laptop, see how it pans out

I saw this on ebay so may get it or a similar 1 or if i can get 1 might by 1 from china, however if i do il have to strip it and resolder it all as everytime I buy from there theres always solder issues, especially seen with my macbook air clones.

Occurring problems

So, so far I have switched her on, checked through some software, not all is working
pre-installed programming software isn't working properly, I thought of updating or updating the software, and had no luck, I get the same issues, certain software just are not working on linux.

Why??

I don't know,
It came preloaded on linux, my friends re working fine, this has got me a little stumped. I am thinking of totally uninstalling and re-installing it on to the memory card or even changing the OS to a different type of Linux.

I have tried a number of various cards, I have had no issues with them.

Vid - HDMI

HDMI works perfectly

Composite RCA

This also works with no issues

Power - 2.5W (model A), 3.5 W (model B)

I have suffered power issues

USB 2.0 ports

The ports are fine, I have plug in and play usb adaptors, I am yet to try them to see if they work.

Audio Outputs - 3.5 mm jack/HDMI

All works well

NET - Ethernet

I have surfed the net on the Raspberry pi, however as it couldn't fit my televisions size I had issues and it was bit crappy as it acted like a mobile network and was kinda slow

Well switched a Development appllication on, 2 shell ones worked then switched on another and it just keeps crashing

Right I've started up my raspberry pi, She works and starts up. It's brilliant, starts up but Linux Damn it kicks arse, can be used on monitors, tv's, other monitary devices,can use sound,it comes with 2 usb's unsure which version 2 or 3. HDMI, av power and same plug as a HTC. It has good file system. Come with games,programming.software,image software,available for net use. You can attach external usb adaptors,and have multiple usb devices in. I'm gunna start a program up and see the quality

Switch On Time Well I have built her, well as you saw in the other post I had anyway but now I have plugged it in to a small lcd television. I have had power issues because plugging it in it hasnt powered on, I was a bit concerned that I had got a defect system but im thinking its just the voltage of the charger. Il find one,plug in usb she powers up, inserted the hdmi aswell and plugged her in to the tv,

Finally received my Raspberry Pi

Well I finally got my raspberry pi... Well I got if last week,but today got the wires case and so on and built it and see what it looked like :) It's the size of a credit card
