At a time when most creative software seems to be stuck in a rut, Photoshop CS5 comes as a bit of a surprise. It’s packed with startlingly impressive new features, some of which herald a significant leap for the sophistication of image-editing software. Considering that Photoshop CS4 was already so mature, elegant and stacked to the rafters with powerful features, this update exceeds our highest expectations.

Before we get too carried away, let’s take a look at the more down-to-Earth improvements. Photoshop is now available in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions; we measured a performance boost of up to 40 per cent when comparing the two versions on a Windows 7 64-bit PC with 8GB RAM, although some tests only showed a six per cent increase.

RAW processing benefits from more sophisticated noise reduction. Lens correction includes automatic correction of distortions, chromatic aberrations and vignetting, all calculated by referencing photos’ EXIF data against profiles for various SLR lenses. The profile database is currently pretty small but that should improve with time. A new Mixer Brush delivers an interesting hybrid between painting and smudging, and works well with the new Bristle Tips, which emulate a variety of natural paintbrush shapes.

The most impressive new feature is Content-Aware Fill, which crops up as an innocuous looking button in the Spot Healing Brush’s options. This brush was already invaluable for removing dust spots, bits of rubbish and skin blemishes, pasting the texture from a nearby area and colour-matching it to its new surroundings.

However, it struggled when the offending item was large or spanned two distinct background textures. Now, selecting the Content-Aware button makes more intelligent decisions about what to fill the space with. It wasn’t smart enough to preserve structured geometric shapes and patterns, but in most cases it produced photo-realistic results that previously required lengthy manual cloning techniques.

Content-Aware Fill can also be invoked by selecting an area of the background layer and hitting Delete. Rather replacing the selected area with a block colour, the software fills it in by cloning from various other parts of the image. Its effectiveness is highly dependent on the material being edited – it nearly always messed up with man-made objects, for example, although it had a reasonable stab at extrapolating straight lines. For natural environments, the results were often astonishingly effective.

Gameplay

Gameplay in Bad Company 2 is primarily a squad based First-person shooter. Similar to previous titles in the series the game is played out on large maps with vehicles, aircraft, turrets, unmanned aerial vehicles armed with hellfire missiles, and so on, but the majority of the game is based around infantry combat.

Players can score points by performing a variety of tasks that do not involve directly engaging with opposition players. For example, the "engineer" class can score points through the repair of various equipment and vehicles, or the "medic" class can do so by healing his squad and reviving recently killed players. A key gameplay feature introduced by its predecessor, Bad Company, is destructible environments. The improved system is called "Destruction 2.0". It now allows players to completely demolish a building with sustained explosive firepower, resulting in the building becoming a pile of rubble and killing any trapped inside. The game also introduces bullet drop, a feature previously seen in single-player games such as the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, which causes bullets and other munitions to fall downwards due to gravity.

Along with Battlefield Vietnam, Bad Company 2 is one of only two games in the Battlefield series to show blood without third-party modification.
Bad Company 2 features 15 vehicles, including new additions, such as the UH-60 Black Hawk, a quad bike, a three-man patrol boat, a personal watercraft, a ZU-23 mounted on a BTR-D armored personnel carrier, and a UAV helicopter controlled via remote computer terminals.

The currently available maps are set in various environments from South America and the mountainous regions along the borders of Russia.

Gameplay

Assassin's Creed II takes place in an open world with nonlinear gameplay, allowing the player to roam freely within several regions throughout late fifteenth-century Italy such as Venice, Florence, and the Tuscan countryside. The Animus 2.0, a new version of the machine of the same name present in Assassin's Creed, provides in-game context for changes and additions to several game elements. A database is also available, providing extra historical information about key landmarks, characters and services that the player encounters. The health system has been made more dynamic, with synchronization to the Animus and causing the character to recover only from minor injuries. More grievous injuries require visiting a street-side doctor or use medicine which can be purchased from doctors.

The player may now swim in water, and eagle vision—the ability to identify specific people and landmarks—can now be used in third-person view and while moving. A young Leonardo da Vinci is present in the game, aiding the player by creating new weapons from translated "codex pages" that Altaïr, the original game's main character, left behind for future assassins' analysis and insight. Within the game, the player will be able to use Leonardo's flying machine (based on real-life plans by Leonardo) while on one mission. The player also has the ability to control a carriage on one level, but can row gondolas, as well as ride horses at any point in the game where they are readily available.

WindowBlinds is a program that allows you to completely change the look and feel of Windows to however you want it to look like.
WindowBlinds allows you to completely customize your desktop look by changing the style of title buttons, bars and toolbars. You can change the look of buttons and check boxes by assigning them skins, or personalities, and you can assign buttons that will launch programs to toolbars.
You can create your own skins, choose from the four that are included in the program, or download additional ones. You can also choose to exclude certain programs from WindowBlinds if you don`t want to change their appearances.

Applying visual styles : In addition to the shortcut to the WindowBlinds Advanced Config window in your Start menu, you can change WB visual styles and settings from either the Skins or Appearance tab in Display Properties.
