MRT - Misty Railway Transit

2014-09-08T09:54:00.001+08:00

There is something new in the MRT North Avenue station (not sure, however, if all the stations have it.) Misty blowers that, at first, I thought was something like in the movies when a pipe gets a hole and releases poisonous gas. But, when I took a closer glance, they were really built-in tiny sprayers to emit mists.

I still am not sure if they are mists to keep the station cool, but it seems like it. Wasn't able to check the news last night, so maybe tonight it will be one of the headlines.

In all fairness, at first, I was worried, then I looked around they were everywhere, then I thought... "Cool..." Albeit, I didn't feel it, anyway, I hope it helps.

Look! This is the Metro PH

2014-08-28T09:51:00.001+08:00

Finally, I reached this part of the metro where I can see where I was. I can now say, "almost there." I wish someday one of the top management or govt officials will experience this and when I see him/her I'mma say hi and ask: "So, how's it goin'?"

Look! This is the Metro PH. And I still hope...

A Date with Scarlett Johansson

2014-08-16T23:18:00.001+08:00

Finally got a chance to date THE beautiful Scarlett Johansson! The first time I saw its trailer, I got so excited and interested. Let me just give a little review about it. Don't worry, I am not a spoiler, so I will be very careful here. ;)

The storyline is so intriguing. The story is intense and I think whoever thought and created this film is a genius. Although I am not a believer of the evolution and the big bang theory (since they were somewhat introduced in the movie) I really admire the conceptualization and ingenuity of the story.

I love science, and I guess that's one of the main reasons why I got so into it. The acting of Ms. Scarlett Johansson is just superb! I have to admit that I'm seeing some Agent Romanoff's scene when she was being interrogated by the Russian Mafia in The Avengers movie. But her acting prowess in this movie is very impressive - specially her scene when the drugs finally take its effect in her body.

That said, I just want to point out that some of the scenes in the movie towards the end kind of disappointed me, in which it was very obvious that they were indeed just shot in a big green screen, specially during a scene when everything turned white. Well, I was hoping that they should have done better in editing or filming it so it won't appear as noticeable.

But to cap it off, the movie is fantastic. If, at this point, you're still thinking of watching it or not, I suggest you go buy those tickets and head to the big screen. You won't regret spending some bucks and time for it. If you're not as technical as I was, you won't even get to notice what I just said about the CG.

I always take notes when watching a movie, but I was not able to write down as exactly how it was said in the movie but there was a quote that goes like this: People desire power and authority that result to chaos and destruction... Same as ignorance.

(Short) Movie Review: Noah 2014

2014-08-16T15:28:00.001+08:00

I decided to watch the controversial movie, Noah, and unfortunately, out of dismay, I fell asleep (and I was still at the part where the "fallen angel" captured them.)

Sad to say, I already got disappointed at the very start - I thought it was not the best graphics and I can't just wait to say that I don't like the movie already. First of all, the reason why I watched it was just to justify what other people say about it - so I decided to see it myself. So basically this review is just for the first few minutes of the movie.

Yes, it is not as detailed as in the bible, just like what hollywood does in most of the books-turned-into-movies. Cinematography for me is very poor. The story is very slow - the reason I fell asleep. Same as what happened to me when my friends and I watched "The Son of God" - felt like I wasted my time and money. To make it short and simple, as short as I watched it, I'm going to rate the film 3/10.

Recommendation: Rather than watching it, better read the bible instead. More realistic, intense and action-packed! Same recommendation goes to the Son of God movie.

Gym Workout - Texting

2014-07-25T01:19:00.000+08:00

Never thought that you also have to workout your fingers for texting at the gym. This guy was in the same exact position the moment I started working out until I finished my fourth leg workout. You'll know a rich kid who just happens to make it seem like he's working out, well in fact he's just chillin at the gym. This gym is just too expensive for you to just text. Haha. But I have to appreciate his decision to rather stay at the gym than be out partying on a Friday night. Haha. :) good job on that part though. :)

GO Experience the RUSH in the Metro!

2014-03-26T11:58:00.000+08:00

I've been tweeting to DOTC Philippines about what's happening in the MRT this morning. I must say it was the craziest morning. Been stopping here and there due to "red signal." There was even a sudden stop of train, like really SUDDEN, that made people in the train stumbling down to the floor. Just as we went off the freaky train ride, people were all running late. Like literally RUNNING late.

I just hope the management of MRT knows that these working people's employers won't give a poop to why they were late (due to the defective trains and ineffective system.) These people might get memos for being late, gets salary deductions, promotions might get held, and a whole lot of serious scenarios just because of what happened this morning.

Sadly, it seems like the people managing the Metro Railway Transit do not care just the same.

Suggestion to the management: Experience it, even just for a week. Get in line. Buy your tickets. Ride the train. Get out of the train.
If you're going to take this suggestion seriously, PLEASE don't do it during off-peak hours of the day. Go experience the rush in the metro!

SOLD OUT! Tickets At The Metro: Blockbuster!

2014-03-24T21:00:00.000+08:00

There was a massive crowd and a very long line this morning at the MRT station. What's new right? And to be prepared for the next day, I was suppose to buy another stored value ticket tonight to skip another line at the ticketing booth tomorrow morning (I guess other commuters are doing the same.) But look what's the headline at the stations tonight (see image)! Can't believe this!!! Adding up to the inefficiency of our dearest MRT, most exit/entry machines are under maintenance too. Making it more difficult not just to get inside the station but also getting out of it. This is just crazy. And the fact that I even exerted effort to type all this, gives me the idea that I am REALLY REALLY FRUSTRATED, ANNOYED AND UPSET ABOUT THE MRT.

Just a quick shoutout to #DOTC @DOTCPhilippines #MRTPhilippines - I thought you folks are making the system better. Don't just install useless LED TVs that says "No scheduled train," I think you should first install a good system and machines that would cater more on fixing the basic things: Annoying Tickets that frequently gets rejected, tickets supply, Entry/Exit Machines, etc... Why don't you guys try your own system? Go experience it first hand. For sure, you'll understand why people are ranting about you and your systems.

A Funeral Teaches

2012-02-28T21:14:00.000+08:00

Ecclesiastes 7:2
² You learn more at a funeral than at a feast—
After all, that's where we'll end up. We might discover
something from it.

Indeed, there's more to learn if we just deeply listen in a funeral.
Listen to the people who lost a parent.
Listen to the people who lost a friend.
Listen to the people who lost a sibling.
Listen to the people who lost a loved one.
Listen to the air that breathes slowly.
Listen to the tears of those who are weary.
Listen to the cries which tells the story.
Just try to pause, look around and listen.

Psalm 90:12
Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.

Your Hands - JJ Heller

2011-12-28T07:57:00.000+08:00

Your Hands by JJ Heller

I have unanswered prayers
I have trouble I wish wasn’t there
And I have asked a thousand ways
That you would take my pain away
You would take my pain away

I am trying to understand
How to walk this weary land
Make straight the paths that crooked lie
Oh Lord, before these feet of mine
Oh Lord, before these feet of mine

When my world is shaking, heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave your hands

When you walked upon the earth
You healed the broken, lost and hurt
I know you hate to see me cry
One day you will set all things right
Yeah, one day you will set all things right

When my world is shaking, heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave your hands

Your hands that shaped the world
Are holding me
They hold me still
Your hands that shaped the world
Are holding me
They hold me still

When my world is shaking, heaven stands
When my heart is breaking
I never leave your hands

Matthew 22:36-40

³⁶ “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
³⁷ Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ ³⁸ This is the first and greatest commandment. ³⁹ And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’⁴⁰ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

'The World's Most Expensive Car Crash'

2011-12-06T06:55:00.001+08:00

This is 'the world's most expensive car crash.'

14 Luxury cars
8 Ferraris
3 Mercedes Benz
1 Lamborghini
2 Toyota Prius

Or maybe they're just trying if the cars are really reliable than the cars they make...? (kidds)

Knowing the speed capabilities of these cars, I just can't imagine how fast they were going. But seemed like worth the money - good thing, as the report said that there are only minor injuries.

FYI: This is summing up around $4M! (yes, I have to put the "!" there)

The Genesis of Colors

2011-11-24T08:46:00.001+08:00

Look what I found yesterday while driving to work. Rainbow is like a post-it note stuck on your refrigerator's door, like a billboard in the highway, a huge sign of reminder.

Genesis 9:16-17

"¹⁶ Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.” ¹⁷ So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.”

I just hope the next time you see one, you know why it's there.

Clean Air: I Will Miss You

2011-11-03T09:48:00.001+08:00

While having nice drives to work during the morning... enjoying the view of sunrise and the morning skies, I always gets distracted by these annoying buses who doesn't know how to drive and vehicles emitting dark vicious and killer smoke!

Would there be any way to report these vehicles who are really just exhausting dark clouds. I was just wondering, weren't they supposed to be handled accordingly during the emission testing???

It just always doesn't miss to ruin my mood everyday to work! :\

Somebody suggested this to me: "If the government can't enforce the law the private sector should. We can ban them from entering our villages, schools and our place of business."

It's a nice suggestion I reckon! There's this building in Libis where they put notices of "No Smoking, No spitting and No Chewing of Gum within premises" around their building. I hope private sectors should adapt this (of course, Kudos to Singapore-inspired policy.)

Well, going back to smoke-belching, yea, I hope we can do something about it. While they're taking out trees off the street to provide wider road, they don't care of these smoke-belching vehicles. Oh, clean air, unless we do something about this, we will miss you big time. :|

*Edit:

Somebody replied to me with this:

Contact LTO hotline 9229061 - 66 and ask to be connected to Law Enforcement. Give them the plate number(s) of those effin' idiots.

So today, I've decided to take down their plate numbers and try post or blog it.. hopefully somebody with authority would be able to look into it. Unfortunately, I've decided when I'm already half-way my usual morning ride and so I only got one for today (until further updates):

1. TXP 623 - Safeway Bus - dude, i feel so unsafe with you around!

Manny deserves this. He worked hard for it. The question is, will you bring it to the Philippines though? :]

I'm sure the envious eyes of his contemporaries (public officials and celebs alike) are rolling. Hope Pacman's new ride won't trigger the tainted minds of some officials to improve their corruption strategies and buy themselves one too.

The World's Worst Airport

*Edit Title: The World's Worst Airport

Link to the Feedback site of a blogger: www.sleepinginairports.net

I really am not sure if I wanted to make a blog post about this. As much as I want to say that I love my mother land, but there's really a big room for improvement that needs to be acted upon accordingly.

We are named as "The Pearl of The Orient Seas" [trans. Perlas ng Silanganan] but seems like we are now "The Oyster of the Orient Seas" [trans. Talaba ng Silanganan]. It is so sad and shameful at the same time. And with the current situation of the management of NAIA, I am not sure, but it could be an excuse, once again, for them to neglect this issue.

Corruption. Crab mentality. Tardiness. Ningas Kugon [trans. doing something good at first but will not finish the work]. These are some of the attributes that we should take out of our system as a person and as a government.

God bless the Filipinos. God bless the Philippines.
