New World : Redwood Harbor With Save File

Welcome to Redwood Harbor, a remake of the former Elk Cove. This mountainous island has old pebble roads, lots of fir trees, two waterfalls and a rustic, wooden look. It is a smaller world but does have all spawners, a fire department, salon, junk yard, laundromat, library, gym, open buildings for future EP lot types, and all rabbit holes except the military. If you have LN, you can swap out the city hall rabbit hole for the new LN one that combines them and then that is not an issue. This house also has some very lovely boat houses in the save file for those who enjoy fishing and serene living.

Requirements: Sims 3, Ambitions & Generations

Note: The save file does have 4 additional houses as well as several families and some other finishing house touches but is not required.

Redwood Harbor Going BETA

So, I am preparing to take Redwood Harbor out for a test spin for some BETA testing. Primarily looking to make sure that all rabbit holes work properly as they are all buried in the basement. There are a few lots that remain to be finished, but overall this world has a completeness about it. Therefore if anyone is interested in checking out this world with me, looking for the following issues and reporting them, I'd appreciate it :)

- Lot edges / road tears
- Rabbit holes not working
- Anything else out of place

This world will require Ambitions and Generations. If you have Late Night you will benefit from being able to have functioning apartments, as well as the Military career (I ran out of room for lots big enough to bury that dreadful thing in a basement. So, if you have LN kindly replace the Town Hall with the LN one that combines police and military and then delete the police rabbit hole). There are not many apartments, note, because this is a smaller world.... and I ran out of space. Maybe EA will consider being able to let us combine lot types in the future?

In the past there had been a request to remake an older, archived world called Elk Cove. So, I exported the height map to do some updating to this world and boy am I ever glad that I did! You probably will not recognize it anymore, but the basic map shape is the same. Welcome to Redwood Harbor, a world with homey wood cottages, boat houses and - for a special MSR visitor - FOG! =D This world has been going spectacularly fast even though I have been in love with Elmira City. In fact, for those of you who wish for smaller worlds because of game speed issues, you will be all too happy to learn that I believe this world will be very fast for you as it saves in 1/4 time worlds like Elmira City does!

So here are some pics - as you can see, the entire map is done. Addresses are assigned. Even effects are placed. All that is left is spawner placement and lot building - and she will be yours!

New World : Elmira City With Save File

It has finally arrived - a final version of Elmira City! This world is perfect for sims who want the fun and excitement of the city and the quiet peacefulness of a cozy town... without seeing the other. Created to satisfy my sims who started out in the city but then wanted to feel like they lived in a rural town, Elmira City is a world divided with the rural village area on one side and the bustling city on the other. The village area has several businesses, parks, a campground and a trailer park. The city has - everything else, as well as some more upscale housing options.

This version of the world is considered complete, but I will continue to upload lots for this world - especially any lot noted as "reserved." A save file is in the works now and will have several families, singles and whatnot for you to interact with. However, I thought for those who are not interested in that - or do not want to wait - here is the download link. You'll notice there are a few houses not furnished in the city area that are in the save file because I wanted them to feel personalized. Can't wait to hear your feedback - Enjoy! =D

I have not decided when I should make my latest project available for testing - perhaps you'd like to give your input? I am not really sure how many people actually test out the BETA worlds so, I decided to put up some pictures while I do and go from there.

So welcome to Elmira City - a world that suddenly popped in my head and has consumed my time the past week! I envisioned a rocky coastal city with a little coastal town on the other side of the rocks so that sims could have the best of both worlds and not have to even look at the other! On one side we have a vibrant city with a wharf area, beach houses and all the clubs! The little town side has a small market area with bistro, books and groceries, and a small farming area. I was going to make it with the rocks going all the way to the edge - sure wish there were more distant terrains to choose from. Needless to say, that didn't quite look right or work out as I had planned and instead of having the roads stop as in Brooklyn Heights I took them all the way around in case your sims feel like going for a coastal drive.

There are parts of the city incomplete - such as filling in the houses - but I plan to do that now actually as I create families to inhabit them. So this world will have a very nice prepopulated save file and will require Ambitions, LN and Generations. I have yet to finish the top of the city hill which is Calypso Street... not quite sure what to put there. Anyway, finishing it up but if anyone wants to test it out to make sure all rabbit holes and streets work let me know and I'll post it up for some testing :)

New Pictures of Oakland Meadows

I have been continuing to work on Oakland Meadows... its really coming together nicely. I had observed comments that my tree placement wasn't very realistic so I tried working on that. Overall I am quite pleased with how it has turned out. Those that prefer the smaller lots will be pleased with this world... not to say that they are all small though. So city in the middle, farmland surrounding it, and rolling hills surrounding that. What do you think?

Generations : First Impressions

So, I am lucky enough to have a husband who will go out at midnight to purchase the newest Sims 3 expansion and have it on my desk for me bright and early so I can get right to playing (he took the day off so I could dedicate my time to checking it out). Well, I haven't been in the game very long but long enough to be able to give my review on one of the more fundamental components of an EP - what STUFF do you get with it?

Well, for anyone who equally is concerned about such a question, let me give you the skinny on just how much stuff (or lack thereof) came with Generations... The only word that can describe this aspect of the game is disappointed. Given its hefty price tag, I was expecting much more - so much more that it could really change up how a world could look in CAW but I was wrong.

No new lot types.
No new trees.
No new plants or flowers.
1 new window.
No new doors, fireplaces or columns.
There are a handful of new floors and walls but they basically all look the same so there are really only like 2.
No new cribs.
Limited amount of new furniture.
No roof changes.
There are new toys and of course I've always wanted bunk beds. The treehouses are pretty cool to see.
Of the new things, a lot of them are prince / princess type of variations.

Anyway, here are some pictures to help you decide. Now I haven't played the game yet, and I am very excited about the imaginary friend and the daycare profession, I just sort of anticipated this EP to have some more items - well, a lot more - when they increase the prices as they have. And while I love the new sorting feature - that comes with the newest patch and is free. But I will say there are some older looking items (like the TV) which I do like so... in the end, you can only make your decision. I would've bought it anyway, I'm addicted and a collector like that :)

*Note that all bunks also have a loft version.

World Making : Back to Mooseport City

I had been a little lacking in the creative department after finishing Plum Grove. So I posted a few polls to get a feel for what others may be interested in, but I ultimately found myself back at Mooseport City. And after going into it with a fresh start, I must say that I am rather excited about how it is looking. I think its probably the best job I've ever done at blending the map into distant terrain. I have taken the suggestions of others and am making more distinct nicer / no so nice areas in the world. I am working on lots a bit at a time so I don't get so burnt out at the end, but don't want to do them all at once as I am excited about what Generations may add.

Either way, here are some pictures of how the world is looking - including a pic of the trailer park and the warehouse area that I myself am quite fond of - I think I am going to put some housing in there!

You'll have to forgive me that the save file for Plum Grove is rather limited - there are about 10 - 15 families placed but in midst of placing them and creating them (lets face it, that does get old after awhile!) I got an amazing inspiration for a new city so... so much for settling down and playing the game this weekend. Anyway, so Plum Grove Version 1.0 is available - keep your eye out as some of the reserved buildings will have fillings rolling out this weekend.

New Poll : Should Current Worlds be Redone & Improved?

I would like to know your opinion : should some of my older worlds such as Anju Falls, Elba Village and Meadow Glen - should they be refreshed and updated? Doing this would take what I've learned to make the world better while keeping the general feel and idea of the world intact but would change the layout and probably most things about the world... to be what I think is better.

Should I update them or leave them as they are? I'd love it if you could vote and would like it even more if you could tell me why you voted the way you did!

Plum Grove BETA : For Testing

As has been my tradition I am so excited to share Plum Grove that I am going to release a version for BETA testing. Now, when I do this with a world it means that it has all of the rabbit holes and in this case Ambitions lots as well. There are still edits and lots to be added and changed but for the most part the world is functional. While I finish completing the rest of the lots, anyone who has time to make sure that there are no routing issues, freezing or anything like that - well I'd most certainly appreciate it.

So should you take this world for a spin, please leave a comment if you find any roads that are not connected, experience any lagging or freezing, note that I have forgotten a rabbit hole or anything like that. You should note that the warehouse, science and police station are all buried in basements.

Also - this world does have some apartments within it so I would very much like to know from anyone who DOES NOT have Late Night how those show up in your game... do they just look like a regular house or do they cause issues? Thanks everyone!

Plum Grove Update

I continue going strong working on Plum Grove and I am quite pleased with how it is turning out. I have been working primarily on finishing the layout and then the downtown area just so I can get it into BETA testing and then finish the rest of the housing areas. Below are some pictures - one is of Piper's Landing which is a dock area with the warehouse hidden, the rest are of the main layout. Unfortunately for some of you this world will require Ambitions, but will not require Late Night though I will have those buildings available for download at the same time as the final version - as well as a populated save file. The apartments will already be in there just not functional. If you do not have Ambitions and you were considering getting it, here is a link for it on Amazon.
