Speed up your data connection on a Sprint Instinct.

Go to dialer and enter ##3282#

Select Advanced.

Select Edit.

Enter current code to 686870.

Press done.

Select Slotindex.

Change the 2 to a 7.

Go Back. (Back arrow)

Go Back. (Back arrow) Again.

Phone will re boot.

Go back to dialer and enter ##3282#

Select to Multi Media.

Press Edit.

Enter 686870 and press done.

Select buffer length and change the 07 to 20. You will use back arrow to remove the 07 and enter 20.

Press OK.

Press Done.

Phone will reboot.

Go back to your settings menu, then to general and update the data profile.

You’re done!

On the speed up your data connection I posted yesterday I left out a critical detail. I listed a number on the current code. That number is actually your MSL #. You will need to get this from Sprint. The rest of the process is pretty acurate. Here is another site explaining this. If you have any problem when you ask for your MSL # just tell them thank's and call again. This time tell them your having trouble with your internet connection. They will tell you to enter ##3282# and then they will tell you to enter a six digit code. Write this down because that code is your MSL#. Some guy's will tell you how to do it and others won't.

If you push the Voice button while veiwing a page it will put it in full screen. If you push the camera button and tilt the phone up or down or left and right it will scroll without having to touch the screen. This does not work with Opera Mini.

Mic Problem

Last night when I placed a call I was told that the caller could barely hear me. Sounds very distant and soft. I hung up and they called me back and still like that. I changed out battery, powered off and today it's still like that. Anyone know possibly why?

Battery issues

Hi there, first post. Just last night, my Instinct started powering off, despite having a fully charged batter. I popped in my other battery, also fully charged, but it still would not power on. I plugged it into the charger, and it would power on then, but only for a few minutes before powering off. I left the phone off and charging for about an hour, and the spare battery charging for the same time. After they had charged for an hour, I tried the phone again. It would still not power on off the charger. I tried the spare battery, same result. I went to the Sprint store nearby, and duplicated the problem there. They seemed to think both batteries went bad at the same time, and replaced them, along with the spare charger. My Instinct was fine the rest of the night, and I left one battery charging in the car overnight, and had the phone on the desk charger overnight. Fast-forward to 30 minutes ago, I'm at work and my phone is dead again - it will only power up on the charger. I have the USB charger here, and I went out to the car and got the spare battery. Currently the phone is working on the spare battery, and the other battery is on the charger, I got a green light in just about 5 minutes, so I know the battery is not the issue. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? Any advice to offer? I've been a Sprint customer for 6 years now, I've been very pleased with their service and support.

Is there any way to delete recent contacts?

Hey all. Just got a pink instinct a few days ago. I love the way it looks, still getting used to the rest. Anyway, I'm wondering if there is any way to delete the 'recent list' under the text messaging section? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Anyone know why music player will not read music on SD Card?

I have downloaded almost 4 gig of music on a 8 gig SD micro card and put it in my Instinct. The player is not reading the music on the card though, it only plays what I have downloaded from the Sprint store directly to the phone. I know the card is found by the Instinct because when I check the memory button it shows me what's on the phone and what's on the card. Any ideas why it will not play what's on the card?

I've had my instinct for only a few months and everything worked great, but now, everytime I try to access an application (specifically news, wheather, sports, and movies) it loads it and something pops up saying 'uncaught exception, exiting application' so now I can't access any of that. Does anyone know what might be the cause of this and how to fix it?

Uncaught Exception Error

I have been getting an 'Uncaught Exception Error. Exiting application' error on Weather, News, Sports, Movies, and Entertainment News. One day it was working, the next day it stopped. Other apps in the 'web' tab works (Web, Live Search, and My Account). Does anyone know what the problem is? I executed a 'Reset Settings' but that didn't solve anything. I'm wiery about running the 'reset phone' because I don't want to delete all my stuff. Any suggestions?

How to set personal ring tones?

My Instinct just froze up before Christmas and I can't get it respond. I am able to turn it off and on, even took the battery out overnight but when it turns on, it comes up to my Speed Dial list and the touch portion of the phone is not operating. I can go to the camera but cannot exit so I have to pull the battery out, then it comes back up to my Speed Dial list. The touch portion isn't working anymore! Any ideas on how to get the touch portion of the phone to work????

answering call

Some incoming calls offer option of answering by sliding button as opposed to pushing to answer. Too many times, particularly when driving, sliding proves difficult and ends up 'bouncing' to ignore incoming. Is there anyway to set it up so as to have touch only on incoming. I cannot believe that slide is an option and is very cumbersome. I am a new user of a week or so and perhaps it will get easier.

Error in Communication Message?????????

Brand new device, all seems well until I try and open the web browser. The initial screen appears as normal, the one with the recommended sites such as CNN, ESPN and the others. Here is where the problem arises. Click on any of the tabs and soon thereafter I receive the error message, Error in Communication. After many frustrating minutes with tech support and several resets, still no resolution. I am hoping someone else has encountered this problem and can help. Thanks in advance. P.S. I did stop by the Sprint store and exchange the unit, same problem with the second phone.

watching videos from website??

i am unable to watch clips from different sites. is it because i dont have a media player of some sort? i just upgraded to this instinct phone from the htc mogal phone. and that phone was very easy to watch video clips from different websites (porn). with the instinct i can see video from youtube, but not anywhere else. PLEASE HELP. with all the features on this phone, i would assume it would be able to, but idk. also, is the anyway i can see my background full time, like minimize the menus bar. or did samsung for some unknown reason not let this happen? i would like to see my background most of the time vs the menu options. PLEASE HELP here too. thank you, newbie
