Last month we had a nice family date, we went blueberry picking at a local farm, Lake Catherine Blueberries. It’s a u-pick farm in Florida. Blueberry Picking {Lake Catherine Blueberries}

On a fabulous Saturday morning we had some good quality family time, we went blueberry picking. We headed over to Lake Catherine Blueberries, a u-pick farm in Clermont, Florida. We had no idea Florida had such a beautiful land dedicated to growing blueberries. They grow two varieties of blueberries, the Emerald and the Jewel.

We each had two vented clamshells to pick one for the Emerald and another for the Jewel. Plus, you can eat while you pick, awesome right?

I want you to know that this place has something magical about it. It can be the lake near by, or the peace and quiet that is sensed right from the moment you step on the land or the charm from which you are rapidly greeted with. Or it might be all of the above. But, one thing I know for sure is that we are going back as many times as we can. There is a space dedicated for kids to play and some picnic tables spread through the property available for you to enjoy any lunch or treat you bring along. We enjoy having picnics at our local Farmers Market, so having this tables available under shades from the surrounding trees is a win-win!

Talking about Farmers Market, you can find Lake Catherine Blueberries in several markets around Central Florida. Here is a list of their Farmers Market schedule so you won’t miss them:

Monday: Audubon Park 6pm-10pm

Tuesday: Lady Lake 9am-1pm

Friday: Windermere 9am-2pm

Cagan’s Crossing 4pm-7pm

Saturday: Winter Garden 9am-2pm

The Villages 9am-2pm

Sunday: Clermont 9am-2pm

Mt. Dora 9am-2pm

Go check them out, drive by their farm or visit their booth at a local Farmers Market. Trust me, it’s very worth it. You haven’t had a tastier and juicier blueberry until you have some from Lake Catherine Blueberries!

Easter Granola

Spring is here, at least for some of us. Some states are still being hit with inches of snow. I miss that part of the season. But, my husband doesn’t miss it at all. Hope that Spring starts blooming on the snowy states and give the surroundings some color. That is where this post comes into place. I am giving you all some color!!!!

This granola is a Spring inspired one with beautiful colors, perfect for Easter! And Easter is just around the corner. Making granola is so easy and this recipe can be changed. Everything from the nuts, dried fruits and even sweets can be altered for those of your liking.

Snack on some homemade granola and watch Spring move in.

Birthday girl!

My first born, my baby girl… it’s not a baby anymore. Last year she hit the double digit mark, this week she turns 11 years old and we all celebrating with her. She is exactly what I prayed God for and we are so very blessed for having her as our first child, our precious girly girl.

She is a big fan of peanut butter and last year she asked for some Chewy Peanut Butter Brownies as her “birthday cake”.

This year, she is still asking for some peanut butter sweets in place of a traditional birthday cake. Any ideas? Here is a perfect breakfast, which was initially created for her. Peanut Butter and Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toasts, maybe I’ll change things up and stuff some pancakes instead of french toasts. Yum!!!

The possibilities are endless when it comes to celebrating a special occasion with peanut butter as a main ingredient. But, for now I’m focusing on what she wants to do and eat on her special day, because I’m so happy to have her in my life. She doesn’t typically ask for things and I want to treat her (spoil her) a bit. She is a darling and we just love her dearly!

Be My Valentine {Bark Chocolate Treat}

Valentine’s Day is a very special day for those who have a good friend and for those who have a special someone in their lives. I have all of the above. Starting with my husband, my daughters and good friends that have been dear to me for many years. On days like today people tend to give that special person a treat (like chocolates), a card, flowers or even share a nice dinner. My husband and I have decided to spend the day together and enjoy a nice lunch. We love our lunch dates!

As you may know by now, we host a home group from our church on Wednesday nights. The members of our home group are very dear to us too! It feels so good to know someone cares about you, that’s why I made a treat for them. The grown ups are treated with a bag with a Valentine’s Bark Chocolate Treat and the kids with some Fun Dip/Cards candy. Plus, my girls helped me make 2 dozens marshmallows dipped in chocolate and topped them on a paper straw to give them a more elegant and thoughtful look. It’s all about the presentation and the thought you put into things. That’s where the saying, “It’s the thought that counts”, comes into place. Don’t you think?

My wishes to you and all the special people in your life is to have a very special Valentine’s Day filled with joy, laughter and many chocolate treats.
