Team National is excited to begin collecting much needed toys for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County this holiday season. The initiative is part of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County 13th Annual Biker’s Bash presented by Bruce Rossmeyer’s Harley-Davidson. The weekend of festivities will be hosted by Bon Jovi’s Richie Sambora and singer/songwriter Richie Supa, headlining at Bikers Bash on Friday, December 9 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Hollywood, FL.

New unwrapped toys will be accepted November 1 through December 9, 2011 at Team National headquarters and all toys collected will be handed over to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County during a special presentation with Richie Sambora on Saturday, December 10 at the Jim & Jan Moran Boys & Girls Club in Deerfield Beach, FL.

The Camp offers both summer and winter programs and is making a difference in the lives of children across the nation.

Gateway for Cancer Research

Gateway for Cancer Research is an organization dedicated to finding a cure for cancer. This year about 569,490 Americans are expected to die of cancer. That is more than 1,500 people a day. The time has come to do something about it. Research funding is critical to find new and advanced treatment options that can stamp out cancer for good.

The Gateway for Cancer Research supports the innovators of new cancer treatments and works to ensure that new treatment options are made available to patients currently suffering from all types of cancer. 99 cents of every dollar received goes directly to the life-saving research.

Feed the Children

Feed the Children is a nonprofit organization that provides relief in the form of food, medicine and supplies for families that have been impacted by poverty, war or natural disasters. Two Team National employees recently completed a triathlon to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, below are their stories.

I recently completed my first Sprint Triathlon through the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training (TNT). This organization is close to me because I lost my grandfather, Brenton Hanson, to Lymphoma in 1994.

Training for this event was tough especially since it was my first triathlon, but not as tough as the rigorous treatments that blood cancer patients have to endure. I trained for 4 months leading up to the big day! I practiced with my team every Saturday morning at 6 am, during weekday swims and plyometric workouts and on my own throughout the rest of the week.

On the big day, May 15, 2011, I was required to swim 400 meters in the Atlantic Ocean, bike 12.4 miles and run 3.1 miles through Crandon Park located in Miami, FL. My adrenaline was pumping seconds before I jumped into the water with a crowd of other females, I was nervous that I wouldn’t be able to swim the distance especially swimming within such close proximity to many other people. The toughest activity was the biking portion, especially riding over a bridge (it felt like a MOUNTAIN!) while the wind was pushing me back down. I started the run at a slow pace, but picked up towards the end as I sprinted towards the finish line!

As a part of TNT, I was required to raise funds to support LLS’s mission. LLS’s mission is: Cure Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin’s Disease and Myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Team National supported the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s mission by providing a generous donation. All donations collected are used for medical research as well as to financially support patients and their families as necessary.

I am proud to say that I am officially a Triathlete! Participating in this event through this wonderful organization was a very touching experience. I am glad that I have come this far physically and look forward to participating in more events in the future!

Completing the Mack Cycle Tri-Miami Sprint Triathlon on behalf of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was an amazing experience. Looking back to the first day of training, I thought that I would not be able to complete the race, I couldn’t even swim the length of the pool without stopping. Fortunately the LLS’s Team in Training provided us with great coaches to properly train and support us along the way. When race day came, I was prepared and I am proud to say that I completed the race!

You may be wondering why I took on such a challenge. Physically, I never attempted anything this difficult, but the challenges of getting through this triathlon are miniscule in comparison to the challenges that go along with fighting cancer. This is a subject that hits close to home for me, my Grandmother was recently diagnosed with cancer and is currently going through treatment, and my Great Grandmother is a cancer survivor. Their treatments stemmed from research done by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The road to remission is not an easy journey, and I want to know that I have done my part in helping fund more research to find a cure.

The staff at Team National showed a great deal of support, encouraging me throughout my training, and helping me reach my fund-raising goal. All proceeds went to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, a non-for-profit, voluntary health organization whose mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, myeloma, and other forms of cancer. With the money donated, the society provides funding for research, public and professional education, advocacy, patient aid and community service programs.

Now as we are putting winter behind us and beginning to think of gardening and spring it would do us all good to remember that just because the Holidays are a fading memory doesn’t mean that we should lose sight of our generous spirit. It is as true today as it was in December that there are individuals in this world that need our help.

Giving isn’t always something that needs to be done on a grand scale, it can be as easy as bringing a warm meal to someone who is alone, offering to babysit for a working single mother, or volunteering your time at your place of worship. Everyone can make a difference!

Direct Selling Companies Donate $16.5 Million to TODAY Show Toy and Gift Drive

The Direct Selling Association kicked off the 17th Annual TODAY Show Holiday Toy and Gift Drive this morning by presenting the direct selling industry’s donation live in Rockefeller Plaza.

Forty one direct selling companies donated a total of more than $16.5 million in products and cash to the Toy Drive. Of the 41 participating companies, at least 10 will be featured in their own spots on the TODAY Show during the holiday season. In its seven years of participation, DSA member companies have donated more than $70 million in products, services and cash to the Toy Drive.

Participating companies donated items from books, stuffed animals and fashion accessories to clothing and toiletries for children and families across the country.

“Participation in the Toy Drive is a natural fit for direct selling companies,” said Amy Robinson, DSA Vice President of Communications and Media Relations. “Every day, direct sellers help others achieve their goals through the products and opportunities they offer, but their involvement in charitable and philanthropic activities reinforces the positive impact direct selling has on millions of lives each year.”

The TODAY Show Toy Drive is a project of the Today Show Charitable Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Donations are matched with the needs of more than 200 organizations with which the Today Show Charitable Foundation works. As part of this year’s Toy Drive, DSA member companies will send items to dozens of organizations in states from Calif. to N.Y.

Companies from the smallest, newest member applicants to the largest, most established companies participated in this effort. Donations ranging from a handful of products to more than $7 million in products were received.

• 3 large tomatoes

• 2 large carrots or a handful of baby carrots

• 1 lime peeled

• 1/2 cup of applesauce (optional)

• 2 apples

• 3-4 mini sweet peppers

• A handful of baby spinach (optional)

• A cup of ice

• Sea salt and/or Dick's seasoning to taste

Pork Chops "Chips"

Ingredients

    •   Bone in thin pork chops
      •   Olive oil
      •   Dick's Seasoning salt

Lightly coat pan with olive oil. Then heat olive oil at medium to low heat. Generously coat both sides of the pork chops with Dick's Seasoning Salt. Place pork chops in warm oil and brown. Do not cover the pan in order to allow the pork chops to get crispy. Allow pork chops to crisp up on both sides. If cooking several pork chops, stack each on top of one other to stay warm in pan while cooking the others. They will be crispy like a pork "chip".

"Angela likes them with applesauce, salad and bread. But they are good with anything!"

Dick's Herb Roasted Potatoes

Ingredients

    •   3-5 red potatoes washed, dried and cut into bitesize chunks
      •   1 Tbsp. Dick's Sensational Seasoning (or to taste)
      •   Ground black pepper to taste
      •   2 Tbsp. Olive Oil

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2. Wash, dry and cut the potatoes into bite-size chunks
In a bowl, toss to coat with olive oil

3. In a zip top bag, combine Dick's Seasoning with
potatoes and shake to coat. Pour out onto a cookie sheet

4. Bake at 350 for 20 - 30 minutes or until fork tender

Salt Crusted and Seasoned Pork Tenderloin

Ingredients

    •   3 garlic cloves, minced
      •   1 teaspoon Dick's Seasoning
      •   1 lb boneless pork tenderloin
      •   1 teaspoon vegetable oil
      •   2 tablespoons kosher salt

Directions:

1. Thoroughly combine minced garlic with Dick's

Seasoning.

2. Pat pork tenderloin dry with paper towel.

3. Brush tenderloin with oil; sprinkle with

garlic/seasoning mix. Press into tenderloin.

4. Place long sheet of heavy-duty aluminum foil on

a baking pan. Place tenderloin on foil; bring

edges of foil up at sides and ends; fold in allowing top of pork tenderloin to remain exposed.

5. Sprinkle top of tenderloin with kosher salt.

6. Roast at 450 for 20-25 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160.

7. (Salt layer will brown and crack during roasting process).

8. Allow meat to rest 10 minutes. Remove and discard salt crust.

9. Slice and serve.

Quiche

Ingredients
• 2 cups 2% milk
• 4 large eggs
• 3/4 cup Bisquick
• 1/4 cup butter, softened
• 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
• 1 teaspoon Dick’s Sensational Seasoning Salt
• 1 (10 ounce) package chopped frozen broccoli, thawed and drained
• 1 cup cubed cooked ham
• 8 ounces shredded Cheddar cheese

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
2. Lightly grease a 10 inch quiche dish.
3. In a large bowl, beat together milk, eggs, baking mix, butter and parmesan cheese. Batter will be lumpy. Stir in broccoli, ham and Cheddar cheese. Pour into prepared quiche dish.
4. Bake in preheated oven for 50 minutes, until eggs are set and top is golden brown.

Grilled Salmon with Lime Butter

1 stick melted butter

1/4 cup lime juice

1 tablespoon pepper

1 teaspoon Dick’s Sensational Seasoning Salt

4 9-ounce salmon steaks

Combine first 4 ingredients. Marinate salmon in lemon butter sauce and preheat the grill to medium high heat. Cook salmon approximately 4 minutes a side or until fully cooked, brushing occasionally with the lemon butter sauce.

1/3 cup Lemon Juice (about 2 lemons)

2 Tablespoons Fresh Basil Chopped

1 Tablespoon Fresh Oregano Chopped

2 Cloves of garlic minced

Dick’s Sensational Secret Seasoning Salt

4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves

1 ½ Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Mix First 4 ingredients together. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Season Chicken with Dick’s Sensational Secret Seasoning Salt and pepper. Cook Chicken 5 minutes on each side. Add the lemon juice mixture and stir to deglaze the pan. Reduce heat and cover. Simmer until chicken is cooked.

Roasted Potatoes

Ingredients

1 ½ pounds small red potatoes

1/8 cup good olive oil

3/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon Dick’s Sensational Secret Seasoning Salt

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1 tablespoons minced garlic (3 cloves)

2 tablespoons fresh rosemary leaves minced

Directions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Cut the potatoes in bite sized pieces and toss until well coated in a bowl with the olive oil, salt, Dick’s Sensational Secret Seasoning Salt, pepper, garlic and rosemary; toss until the potatoes are well coated.

Spread the potatoes out on a non stick baking sheet in a single layer. Roast in the oven for at least an hour flipping occasionally for even browning. Remove from oven and serve.

2 teaspoons coarse fresh cracked black pepper

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon granulated garlic

1 5-6 lb. trimmed Brisket

Olive oil

Worchester Sauce

BBQ Sauce

4-24 hours before cooking, mix top 7 ingredients together in a bowl. Brush the brisket with olive oil and rub the spice combination on it.

Lay brisket in a large roaster pan. Cover pan with aluminum foil and drizzle with Worcestershire sauce. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour per pound at 275 degrees. For the last hour, cover with BBQ sauce and bake 1 more hour, covered. Cool before slicing.

¼ cup Italian Style Bread Crumbs

¼ cup Chopped Parsley

Grated Lemon Peel

1 tbsp Margarine or Butter melted

1 lbs Sea Bass or other white fish fillets

¼ tsp Dick’s Sensational Secret Seasoning Salt or to taste

1 tbsp Lemon Juice

Heat oven to 425°. Line rectangular 13 x 9 inch pan with aluminum foil; spray foil with cooking spray. Mix bread crumbs, parsley, butter and lemon peel in a mixing bowl.

Cut fish into 4 serving pieces. Place fish in pan. Sprinkle with seasoned salt. Drizzle with Lemon juice. Spoon Crumb mixture over each piece; press lightly.

Bake uncovered 15 to 20 minutes until fish flakes easily with fork.

4 lbs. hamburger meat

1 medium to large onion, chopped

1 bell pepper, chopped

1 6oz. can tomato paste

1 6oz. can tomato sauce

1 can diced tomatoes (just for chili)

1 can Rotel tomatoes

2 15oz. cans whole tomatoes, blended

1 can tomato soup

Chili powder, to taste

Ground Cumin, just a dash

Dick’s SSS, to taste

Salt & Pepper, to taste

(1 can pinto beans – optional)

Brown hamburger meat with onions and bell peppers. Season with Dick’s SSS and salt & pepper, to taste. Drain and rinse. In a large stock pot, or crock pot, combine cooked hamburger and chili powder, to taste. Season again with Dick’s SSS and salt & pepper. Add a dash of ground cumin. Add remaining ingredients and enough water to desired thickness. On the stove top, cook on medium heat for approximately one hour. In crock pot, cook on low overnight.

One dozen eggs

Boil one dozen eggs for 10 minutes. Remove from heat immediately, drain off hot water and cover eggs
with cold water. Peel and slice eggs in half. Remove yolks, place in a bowl and mash. Add ¾ of tsp. of Dick’s Sensational Secret Seasoning Salt, along with 3 tbls. of mayo and 1 tbls of chopped onion. Add mustard if desired. Fill white
halves with yolk mixture. Sprinkle with paprika and serve chilled.

½ cup of olive oil

½ cup of white wine vinegar

Dick’s Sensational Secret Seasoning Salt to taste

Combine honey, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, vinegar and seasoning together. Take a whisk and begin beating the mixture while drizzling the olive oil in slowly. (This actually helps the ingredients to combine together better.) Serve over the salad of your choice and enjoy!

2 tablespoons butter or margarine

1 cup chopped onion

1 pound of ground beef or ground turkey

1 large egg

½ cup ketchup

½ cup Italian bread crumbs

2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

½ teaspoon parmesan cheese

2 3/4 teaspoons Dick’s Secret Seasoning Salt

Heat in oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Add onion, garlic and ½ teaspoons of Dick’s Secret Seasoning Salt. Cook approximately 5 minutes and remove from heat.

Mix ground beef or turkey, bread crumbs, egg, ¼ cup ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, 2 teaspoons of Dick’s Secret Seasoning Salt. Add onion and garlic mixture and mix well. Pack into a 8 x4 loaf pan. Spread remaining ketchup on top, sprinkle Parmesan and Dick’s Secret Seasoning across loaf.

Bake for 50 to 55 minutes. (10 minutes longer for a crispier loaf).

1 Tablespoon Dick’s Sensational Secret Seasoning Salt
½ lb. fresh shiitake mushrooms
1 tablespoon Olive Oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
4 (5 to 6 oz.) beef tenderloin steaks (1 to ½ inches thick)
2 shallots, finely chopped
1 cup Madeira
½ cup condensed beef broth, undiluted
¼ cup whipping cream

Sprinkle Dick’s SSS generously over tenderloins and set aside. Remove stems from mushrooms, discarding stems and set aside. Combine oil, 2 cloves garlic, thyme and pepper. Coat the steaks with the mixture. Place a large non-stick skillet over medium high until hot. Cook steak 12 minutes or until desired doneness. Remove steaks and keep warm, reserve drippings. Cook shallots and remaining garlic in drippings, stirring constantly. Add Madeira, bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes or until it has reduced to ½ cup. Add broth and mushrooms; cook 3 minutes or until tender. Remove from heat, stir in whipping cream. Place steaks on plates and spoon sauce around steaks.

Recruiting new teammates for your direct sales business can be a frustrating yet rewarding part of your business. In order to grow your business to levels with hundreds of representatives, you must be recruiting people all the time. Here is some information on how to recruit new members of your team on WAHM (work at home mom) websites.

1. Always check with your company first before doing any type of online advertising as many of the direct sales companies have rules and guidelines regarding advertising online. You do not want to be in violation of their rules.

2. If you are looking to recruit online, one great way to start is to join a few of the online WAHM networking communities and web sites. You will find hundreds of them online but you really should only join a handful of them so that you keep it manageable. These types of web sites usually have an online forum board (message board) where you can place business opportunity advertisements in the appropriately marked folders on the forum for free. You will need to register for that site’s forum/message board and fill out your profile.

3. Always introduce yourself to the community members and make yourself a valuable member of the community by participating in their conversations and forum postings. You never want to just join these communities to spam your ads and leave. They will label you as a spammer and never do business with you. You want to be valued member of these communities, so you can post tips and join in on conversations. The WAHM web sites also sell advertising space on their sites in the form of buttons, banners, text link ads, directory listing ads and classified ads. These advertisements can vary greatly in cost so do your homework to find a good site that has great traffic stats before placing an advertisement with them.

4. When taking out ads on these sites go for a short-term ad and if it doesn’t bring you the results that you seek then move on to the next site and place an ad there. If it does bring you great results, you can elect to renew your ad. Many of the larger direct sales forum boards also have huge websites that offer directories for placing your name and contact information for a nominal fee. If you can get an exclusive listing for your company for a good price, that is a great perk.

5. Recruiting for your direct sales business can take many different avenues online. Be creative, helpful and answer questions for those that are new and you will soon be recognized as a leader and that makes recruiting easier on WAHM websites.

It’s Really Easy to Start Doing This!

Most of the time, to take that initial step is the most difficult of all, whether it is a new job, a new hobby or a diet program. This is sometimes due to not knowing will happen next, and sometimes due to the fear of failure. Let’s take a look at what one can expect at the first stages of joining a direct selling organization.

STEP 1

You will find a wealth of information among the documents, CDs, DVDs that you received from the company. Take time to read, to listen to and to watch them.

Do not panic when you see those calculations on the compensation plan. In time, you will see that they are in fact, not that difficult to grasp.

You don’t need to learn everything about the products, too. Look at your catalogue and focus on few products that you are already familiar with.

Attend the meetings your sponsor recommends you. These will both help you increase your knowledge and also will be an opportunity to get to know people just like you. And who knows, maybe you lay a foundation for fantastic new friendships.

STEP 2

Now that you have the opportunity to buy those fabulous products or benefits at discounted prices, order some for yourself and for your family. Start using them as soon as they arrive. While you build confidence towards those products, you can also learn more about them by using.

Remember, your best ally while recommending a product to others will be the fact that you are using it.

STEP 3

Recommend those products that you have been using to your acquaintances. While you are doing this, you are in fact, “presenting the opportunity of using something that you are already happy with”.

This step is where you start earning money by retailing.

STEP 4

Tell those who have been using your product and happy about it, the advantages of joining your organization. This time, present them the opportunity of making money!

Holiday season can mean many things to you and your clients; the extra pressure of the end of the year and scrambling to capitalize on the last chance before the break to improve your numbers. The end of the year can cause a general lag in business. Whatever the situation, there is always the opportunity to benefit. Consider these seven holiday sales tips:

1. Use your media outlets and acknowledge the holidays. While you never want to alienate potential clients or appear politically incorrect, there is nothing wrong with a simple holiday greeting posted up on your website, in your window or in your monthly newsletter.

2. Create a holiday promotion. Create a quick and easy email marketing campaign and advertise a special holiday promotion. Offer this discount or deal to any and all existing clients and reach out to previous customers or on-the-fence potentials. Make it different than usual, offering an exclusive service, pertinent to the holidays.

3. Don’t underestimate a little holiday cheer. A little goes a long way; a simple update of your web banner, email tagline or newsletter to include festive holiday tidbits can create a seasonal mood that can invite a more generous and giving spirit with your clients.

4. Utilize the holiday partying fever. With get-togethers, social gatherings and parties on every agenda, use your networking skills to their greatest advantage. Pack in as much as you can, taking advantage of these easy to hit markets by attending equipped with business cards, flyers or just a friendly soft-pitch. Don’t make it all about the business but do not shy away from light marketing during the holidays.

5. Keep communication fluid. During the holidays, if you plan on adjusting work hours, closing or even extending your business hours, let your clients know well in advance. Send an email blast and use word of mouth to ensure that your clients and customers are not caught off guard by your adjusted holiday schedule.

6. Thank everyone. Take time out to create a sincere thank you agenda; thanking your clients, suppliers and vendors and team members. A simple email, a mention in your newsletter and as many verbal encounters as possible go a long way in keeping your relationships solid into the New Year.

7. Don’t get lazy. Set goals to reach during December and January to help prevent slipping. Striving to reach these goals will keep you on your toes during a season of otherwise general, widespread malaise.

We are having a great time here in Atlanta and excitement is high! I recently heard about two elderly ladies who were best friends who went shopping together. Congratulations to Tony and Stephanie Dunn Team National's Newest Double Platinums

We took a look at this company almost 5 years ago. We were extremely busy at the time, but saw a true savings on things we were purchasing in our home and shop. We were small business owners with a body shop, rental properties, car washes and laudromat. Stephanie was a Registered Nurse running a nursing home, long hours and on-call 24/7. Our current jobs kept us away from our family. Our five children had practically grown up without us.

We began sharing the business at our shop on the corner of my desk. We scheduled in-homes around paint jobs, fixing broke washers and dryers, and working on rentals. Stephanie was working fulltime in nursing and running our shop-over 16 hours a day for her. Our Team National business kept growing and began supporting our other businesses.

We decided to sell the rentals, car washes and laudromat since they were time-consuming not income producing. In just 12 months, we made the decision to sell the body shop, which had been in my family for 35 years. We are now full-time in the business and loving every minute.

Before Team National, we missed so many things in our children's lives. Now we make the games, shows, events, birthdays and holidays; that we didn't have a choice before but now we do! It's so much fun being able to do those simple things for your family. We have added to our family 2 wonderful Grandbabies-Kadence and Zander.
