You may or may not like my views towards it, but I want to tackle this never-ending issue once and for all just to get it off my chest. Why is the immigration issue very important to the United States? Well, first off, it's because of the security issue it poses in the US. Second, it's because of the immigration's economic impact in the US. Both of these issues, I believe, are really important that needs to be addressed and rightfully so. Obviously, you are considered a US citizen if you're born in the United States. But this claim is now also being challenged by some group of people and some entities in the US both in the private and public sector, and of course, the US government itself. Some people may or may not agree with that depending on their personal beliefs. Some people argue that being born in the US doesn't necessarily mean automatic granting of US citizenship to that person. They say that if people came to the US by illegal means their children should not be afforded US citizenship. My view on that is, some people are truly and deliberately doing the practice of giving births in the US solely for that purpose. Do I blame those people? I do if parents are consciously doing it on purpose but I don't blame those children brought about in this world in cases like that. For me, everyone has a right to live and children on situations like that need not be the subject of ridicule and untoward discrimination. Meanwhile, there are those people that wanted to be US citizens who came to the United States by legal means but now became illegals because their visas or immigration documents expires or is no longer valid. What's my views on those people? I believe that those people need to take care of their immigration documents to stay current with the US immigration laws and re-apply again. If they have to go back to their countries of origins to comply with the US immigration laws, then by no means just do it and follow the rules. After five years of being legal to the United States they can apply for US citizenship, as simple as that. How about those people who truly came to the US illegally? What's my views on those people? Well, let me be very clear on them and get it straight to the point. If you came to the United States illegally, what are you people complaining about? Why are you protesting on the streets? Remember, you people are in the US and you're using America's assets and resources. I certainly believe without a doubt that it is just fair and patriotic that you contribute and share in the load towards America's progress by being law-abiding people and work hard to get your immigration status the right way. My friendly advice is to get your lives together and follow the US immigration processes and rules just like everybody else! It couldn't be simplier than that! No violence, no shortcuts, no ifs and buts, no cheating, period. If you want to live and work in the US, then get in lines, make a sweat and just follow and comply with America's immigration rules and laws just like those people before you and stop bickering and stop complaining! In America you are free to hire an attorney if you can't do your immigration legal documents by yourself and you need someone to represent you in the court of law. I don't discriminate whatever your nationality is and I'm not an anti-immigrant or anything like that. In fact, I fight for people's rights and I always advocate for the equality of life and the equality of justice amongst people. It's an overwhelming truth that the United States immigration policies and laws need more polishing than ever as it also need a reform and overhaul in its system. Nevertheless, America gives opportunities and is a dream country and a friend to those who follow its sovereign laws. There is no denying that America became great because of the diversity of its people. Let's all join hands to make it a safe and a better place to live and work.

Taxes Tax Laws And The Tax Man

I want to blog about the topic of tax because I am feeling the calling to do it. Tax is a complicated subject matter that I believe has a lot of loopholes on it and it needs a total revision to be truly equal and fair to everybody. If you think about it, Certified Public Accountants (CPA) themselves sometimes could not keep up with the latest tax laws and regulations. If you're not an accountant, can you imagine all the hardships and confusions you'll gonna have figuring out all the minute details surrounding your taxes? Taxes is, undoubtedly, now a part of people's lives, and unfortunately, many people are getting victimized by it while others are taking advantage of it as well. I am not in any ways an anti-tax person or anything like that. I know that paying tax is a constitutional duty of every law abiding citizen in any country. What is hard for me to understand is (and I know a lot of people feel the same way) the fact that the tax laws are not written so well in a very clear, concise and transparent manner that even an ordinary citizen should be able to understand. Why make the tax laws so confusing to the people? Why do we need the services of an accountant in order to better understand these tax laws? Governments of different countries are collecting taxes from people, supposedly, in order to use this tax collected money for the benefits of the country and its people. I don't mean to disagree, but that's just not the case that's happening recently. How many times we read about it in the newspapers or hear about it on TV that the tax money collected by the governments from the people are just going nowhere and literally going down the drains! Just remember people are paying different levels and types of tax such as Income taxes, Payroll taxes, Sales and Excise taxes, Property taxes, Customs taxes, Estate and Gift taxes, Licenses and Occupational taxes and Alternative Minimum Taxes (these are just the lists of the major ones). Can you believe that some governments claim they have no money despite of all these taxations from the people? And to add insult to injury, some governments and some politicians do is to keep on raising the taxes when there's a shortage in the budget! I firmly believe that just by looking at raising the people's taxes alone to solve the budget deficit is the mentality of an incompetent and useless governments and politicians! These entities can do better than that and not think about just raising the people's taxes all the time! Why can't they think of something else? Do they even care about their citizens at all? I really wonder because they would still get their fat checks sitting on their behinds even without doing anything! Or is it because raising the taxes is the easiest thing to do which requires no brains? The poor and the middle-class are all hurting badly in this very tough economy. The poor are getting poorer and the rich are getting richer. Why? People had enough of these tax burdens bestowed upon them mercilessly and without justifications. The majority of people demand for a tax reform and stoppage to all of the bureaucracies and red tapes in the governments! C'mon... it's time that people get a break!

How To Protect Yourself On The Internet

I wanna blog about this topic because people's behavior on the World Wide Web is changing and it is not what it used to be. Advances in technology is supposed to be good for people so they can be more productive with their lives, and yet, this same technology put many people's lives in danger because there are some unscrupulous people out there who are using the technology to take advantage of other people's online vulnerabilities. There are far too many scams online nowadays that prey on susceptible users. It is undoubtedly never bad to critique and be very skeptic about something that we see or read on the internet. Cyber crooks today are using social engineering schemes in order to trick you to give up your personal information, visit a suspicious site, or clicking a malicious link. To protect ourselves and our computers from outside threats, we have to be wise about the places we visit online, how we act there, and where things come from. We must be very aware of social engineering attacks such as phishing, baiting to click on suspicious links or prompting to download suspect software which are very tricky tactics that is nearly impossible to protect against even with a sophisticated computer security software or hardware. Let us not forget to use our own common sense to better protect ourselves and our computers with any kinds of attacks from the cyberspace. Always update your computer with the latest patches, antivirus softwares and antimalware products for your peace of mind and total protection on the world wide web.

Politicians Politicizing The Politics

A lot of things are going through my mind and I can't help but give in and follow my heart's desire to address this less overlooked but very important topic. As concerned citizens of any nations, we owe it to ourselves to make sure that our country's democracy is runned by the people, of the people and for the people. As citizens of our republic, we simply cannot let bad and incompetent politicians run our country. That's why we have elections so we can exercise our rights for freedom and democracy. I truly believe that a country is as good or as bad as their leaders on the eyes of other countries. We need to elect politicians who are proven leaders and not just smooth talkers. We should always keep in mind that most politicians, if not all, are great talkers. In fact, most of them would promise the people anything and everything just to get elected! They are highly-trained and accustomed to persuade people to select and vote for them during political rallies and electoral campaigns. Politicians are, more or less, judged by how they talk in public. That's why different political parties hold debates in their own party so they can choose the best candidate who can debate well in public and represent their party on election day. I certainly have no problem if a candidate speaks well and have a good command of their audience during political debates. But I definitely have issues with a political candidate who only knows how to talk well but lack the required experience on how to micro- and macro-manage the real problems of his or her constituents and of the society as a whole. We must elect politicians who are not biased to his or her own party. Politicians are supposed to be public servants and they should represent the voices of the people. They are not meant to be dictators nor killers nor thieves to their own country and its people. Politicians ought to be the ultimate role models that people can look up to in very difficult and troubled times but I don't think that's happening in the world of politics today. I believe that most politicians nowadays are just concerned about their own fame, money and power! Most of them are highly motivated by these things why they run for office. Shame on these politicians! Greedy and irresponsible politicians are the main reasons that puts our world in so much trouble and disarray. As people, we should be very cautious of the leaders that we put in office. Electing the wrong politicians and wrong leaders to a country poses a grave threat and imminent danger to that country, and ultimately, to the world! As people, we must always guard the sanctity of the ballots and preserve the dignity of our votes during any political elections. We must not let the guns, the goons and the money dictate the results of our electoral process. As a society, let us not let the bad side of politics rule our nation and dominate our lives. As citizens, let us all remember not to let a few members of anti-people in our governments dictate our fate. Our chosen leaders must work for the people and not against its people. The politicians that we chose to put into office must be an asset to us and not a liability to our nation. Let us put back where the real power truly belongs...to us. As always, let us not forget to exercise our power as a people! Let the freedom and democracy reign!

A Reality Check

I just want you to assure the people reading this that it is not my intention to offend anyone by blogging on this topic but rather I want to challenge every single Christian out there to ponder why I decided to write about this very sensitive but very important subject matter. These are purely my observations and I hope you bear with me and respect my humble opinions on this subject. I want to directly hit on this very specific topic to show my deep concern about the state of the Christianity in the world today. Just like many people, I also at times struggle on this particular subject matter. I am human and I am not a perfect individual. I am a sinner and so are you. Nobody is perfect in this world; not the priest, not the pastor, not the rabbi, not the pope, not even the saints! It is only God Almighty who is the only perfect and sinless One in the whole universe. I'm sure many people around the world go to different churches and proudly call themselves Christians. I believe that many of the priests, pastors, rabbis, biblical scholars, theologians and their followers want to identify themselves as Christians--and that's great, nothing's wrong with that. Many devoted Christians pray at home and many go to church conscientiously because they want to thank God for every good things He's been showering them with, including their family, their job, their health, their friends, their business, their lives, their food, etc. A lot of Christians including the preachers themselves talk so good and act very kindly when they are at church. They put on their best attires, their best speeches, their best jewelries, their best smiles, their best singing voice, their best hugs and even their best handshakes at the church. The sad reality to this is that some people who call themselves Christians today are just putting on a show for others to see and they are only kidding themselves! Why? Because there are many people who go to church today and call themselves Christians who are still unable to resist the temptations around them and mostly begin to hit back to their old ways and old self as soon as they set their feet off the church's vicinity. They begin to think maliciously and act worldly again by saying negative things to others, bragging, swearing things to people, lying, gossiping, stealing, provoking heated arguments and conversations, invoking physical fights, humiliating people, judging others, feeling superior to others, being self-righteous, discriminating others, and the lists goes on and on but you get the point. In fact, not only Christians but people in general are also guilty doing some of these things. It is more especially sad and concerning that many "self-proclaimed" Christians are in the same predicament as that of the non-Christians. Am I mocking the Christians and the whole of Christianity? Am I being judgemental? Of course not, I never would! This is just the reality and I want you to open your eyes and be open-minded at the same time. I am just concerned about the wrong attitude and misrepresentation of many Christians in the Christian world about the word Christianity. Again, I sincerely believe that some people pretending to be Christians in private or in the presence of others are just wasting their time going to church and it's truly a shame because no matter how many times they go to church, and how hard they pray, God will probably not listen to them. Being a Christian is not just saying you're a Christian and yet you're still living an unchristian-like life! If you're a true Christian you have to talk the talk and walk the walk. There's no "half-bake" in God's kingdom. It's either you're good or you're bad. It's either you're with Him or you're not with Him, as simple as that! We all know that God knows everything that we say or do and we cannot fool Him. If you're a Christian I want you to ask yourself these questions today and answer them with all truth and honesty. Are you only a "shadow" believer of God? Are you just a "one-day" saint? Are you playing a "split-personality" when it comes to your relationship and belief in God? Are you just a "word-by-mouth" Christian? I certainly hope you're not! Maybe it's time that you look at yourself in the mirror right at this moment and do a thorough self-analysis of yourself when it comes to your faith and the kind of life you are living. When you die can you look God on His face and gaze through His eyes and tell Him you've been a great servant of His when you're still alive? Put simply, I am urging you as a Christian to be true to God and to yourself once and for all. No more pretensions. No more kidding yourself. It's time to get real. It's time for a reality check!

Money: The Root Of All Evil?

I've heard some people say that money is the root of all evil and many people tend to agree with that. I don't mean to dissapoint anyone but I don't believe that for a second. Money is not evil. It is the person using the money for illegal purpose or use money for bad things to take advantage of others that I consider evil. I believe that money and other material possessions are not gonna give us true happiness. It's true that lots of money and lots of material possessions could make so many people happy and contented. Do you think happiness from material things is gonna lasts a lifetime? My answer is an emphatic No! Happiness from material things is only superficial and won't lasts forever. People should ultimately realize that fact! Money and material possessions are meant to be shared to other people, especially to those who are poor, homeless, hungry, disabled and the infirmed. Just imagine yourself for a second to be in the company of those helpless people. How would you feel? How would you react? Most of us eat 3 times or even 4 times a day. Most of us live in big houses or even mansions. Most of us drive 1 or 2 fancy cars. But unfortunately those people don't! Most of them are just happy to eat once a day. Most of them are just happy to live on the streets. Most of them are happy even just to have 1 cent on their pockets. Most of them are just happy to walk around or crawl even without any directions. Can you feel their pain? Can you feel their sufferings? Or do you even care? The truth is, money is not for you and me to hoard and boast about! We may be rich and we may have all the money in this world today but if we die tonight we can't take all that money and material possessions with us for sure. I always believe in my heart that sharing is caring and caring is giving. Let's do ourselves a favor to always do good things to others. Let's all be nice and be kind to each other. Think of other people first before we think of ourselves. Our life here on earth is short and we might as well do what is right while we still have a time.

Why?

During my time of solitude I often asked myself, what's the role I'm gonna play in this world? I see so many chaotic things happening on television. I hear many unbelievable things everytime I listen to the news. Everywhere I look, and everytime I hear something, it seems that bad things and bad news dominate the headlines more than the good ones. I guess people are changing, and so is the world. Sometimes I feel numb and helpless already trying to figure out what's going on in our world today. There are so many unanswered questions in my head needing very specific answers. Questions like...why there are so many people hungry? Why so many people are homeless? Why so many people are dying senselessly due to war? Why do people die unexpectedly due to some kind of disease? Why there are so many crimes and violence happening every day? I wonder if other people out there are even paying attention to the big changes that our world is experiencing nowadays. I can honestly tell you that there's always a reason why things are happening in this world. I firmly believe that the worst of things are yet to come.
