Merry Christmas everyone!Today, we celebrate the birthday of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I'm going to cook some yummy foods later. I'm excited. My husband mentioned a cake a while ago. We'd probably go to the store later to get some cake mix. I know Safeway opens today, but I don't know when they close. We will go there before 3pm. I didn't really think about baking a cake today as I got tired of eating too many sweets lately. Well, I guess, I'm going to bake a cake today. But first I'm going to blanch some vegetables in the water to partially cook them. My sister in-law suggested it to me since I'm going to cook some Filipino foods. Blanching makes the vegetables crisp and tender. Then, all I have to do is just make the broth or sauce. Well, I better go and make start preparing the vegetables, spices, etc. Goodbye! Hope you guys have a happy Christmas!

Passport photos

My little man got his passport photos today. I was a bit frustrated with him because he wasn't cooperative enough during picture taking. I wanted him to stand still, but he didn't do it until I thought of a distraction. Finally, he got distracted with loose-fill peanuts. I don't know if the passport photos would pass during the passport application. But I will see when Friday comes. The picture wasn't perfect. I wish I would have gone to Walmart for passport photos instead of going to Postal Annex (the nice thing about it, the photos were free because the owner is my husband's friend). I know Walmart photo center has those props for little kids to distract them during picture taking. Anyhow, I will see on Friday. I hope the photos are okay.

It's Friday. Thank God it's Friday. I feel lazy when it's Friday. I think it's because in my mind tomorrow is the weekend. I will probably go to the grocery store later when my little boy wakes up from his nap. I hope it's going to be a big nap as I need a break. Yes, I need a break. I love spending time with my little man but I need a break sometimes too. I want to relax and not think about anything. Well, I better get this done. Bummed out and frustrated

I just talked to my sister in-law a while ago. I am pretty bummed out and frustrated right now when she told me that my youngest brother dropped his class. He didn't want to go back to school. He cannot take that he got four failing midterm grades. I can't believe how coward he is. In the first place, I already told him not take Chemical Engineering because that is a very hard course. He didn't listen to me. Now, he doesn't want to pursue it. The thing is, he wasted money and time. This is an indication that he is spoiled. I think my mom spoiled him. Now, he wants out because he couldn't bear the burden. I told him that I'm not going to support him anymore in his studies. I'm tired and fed up with him. He doesn't listen to me so I might as well stop supporting him. I hope this situation will teach him something. Or I hope he learns from his mistake.

Should I go to the Philippines or not? I'm having a dilemma right now. I really don't like the idea of leaving my husband for a couple of weeks at home. I would terribly miss him if I decided to visit my parents in P.I. I miss my parents and haven't seen them for almost five years now. I guess, it's about the time to see them again. They live in the other side of the world and thousand miles away from me. I was thinking that I should take this opportunity while we can still afford to buy the plane ticket. It's just going to be me and my little guy to fly to the P.I. I was planning on staying at my parents' house when I get there. I would also like to stay in Cebu City for a few days and meet up my old friends. Then, visit my brother in Balamban. Well, let's see and I need to renew my passport.

Fun camping

It's so nice to get out of the house for two days. We, as a family, went camping on my birthday. It was such a wonderful birthday celebration. We all had fun. We went camping for two days. The place was nice except for the bathrooms, which didn't have any hand soap. I guess, you have to bring your own soap. Our tent works really great and provides us shelter. We got a Coleman Tent for less than $50 at Costco. It works really great. It's very easy to set up and take down. I wish we could go camping again before the winter season comes.

Stress

Stress is part of life. It's one of the inevitable things in life. What is stress? Stress is something that we seem to have become too much. Anything that acts a challenge to our welfare is a stress.

When stress controls our mental, spiritual and physical well being, absolutely, they are not good. That’s a bad sign!

When we are under stress, some biological issues happen. The blood pressure rises, digestive system cannot function properly, heart and pulse rate rises, muscles becomes tense, lack of interest, sleeplessness, immune system goes weak, rapid breathing and the like.

Like I said, stress is part of life, but we can minimize them. We cannot avoid it, then you are in denial. Right? Don’t you know that life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it? That’s a quote by Charles Swindoll. We cannot control over the things that happens to us. Like for example, there’s a heavy traffic on the freeway. We cannot control over this situation. And that’s only 10% of our life. When you are under stress, bring your senses to the rescue. Slow down and think and decide on how to act clearly.

Summer will be here before we know it. I'm really looking forward to summertime as I'm already tired of dealing with cool air every day. It's funny how we often complain about the cold season and when hot season comes, we also complain about it. Humans, in nature, can never be satisfied with what they have.

Anyhow, my mother in-law will be here soon. She's going to be here for two weeks. I wish she could stay more than that. I'm excited about it as we don't often see her. She lives in Oregon and we live in California. It's so nice of her to come down here to see us. I'm going to make her vacation fun and enjoyable. There's going to be a lot of shopping. More grocery shopping as she loves cooking. Well, I better get our house ready, clean and in order before she gets here. So, talk to you later!

Summertime will be here before we know it. Today is the last day of May. Wow, where did the time go? Well, I'm looking forward to our family vacation in Vegas in three weeks. I'm not so excited about the weather (which is going to be hot and dry). I'm just looking forward to spending quality time and having fun with my family. Oh, It is getting warmer and warmer everyday! Since summer will be here soon, people get sunburn. We must always protect our skin from the sun. It might cause us skin cancer and other skin diseases. Warm weather always means outdoor activities and fun. So, to prevent any heat-related illness, we should:

Dress for the heat. Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing. Light colors will reflect away some of the sun's energy. It is also a good idea to wear hats or to use an umbrella.
Drink water. Carry water or juice with you and drink continuously even if you do not feel thirsty. Drink up 10 glasses of water everyday. Avoid alcohol and caffeine, which dehydrate the body.
Slow down. Avoid strenuous activity. If you must do strenuous activity, do it during the coolest part of the day, which is usually in the morning between 4:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.
Stay indoors when possible.
Take regular breaks when engaged in physical activity on warm days. Take time out to find a cool place. If you recognize that you, or someone else, is showing the signals of a heat-related illness, stop activity and find a cool place. Remember, have fun, but stay cool!
Don’t forget to wear sunblock with high SPF.

When you use computer a lot, there is a chance that you might develop the risk of repetitive motion injury. I am blogger and I use the computer. I fear sometimes that I would develop repetitive motion injury or carpal tunnel syndrome. I wish I have this kind of keyboard. But it would be really great to have one someday. What does every teenager dream of? Moving out from their parent’s house and being on their own. Luckily, due to a recent financial miracle, I am now able to afford my own place. Let me preface that by saying that I’ve been out of the parent’s house for 2 years now, since I’ve been enrolled at the University of Arkansas. The difference now is that I no longer have to live on campus. So being the smart investor that I am, I found a nice little foreclosure about 30 minutes from campus in a little town called Lowell. Also playing in my favor, is that I have been dating the girl of my dreams since our junior year of high school and as soon as we graduate college, we’re planning on getting married. But first, we have to get through school. That’s another area that she comes in pretty handy; I didn’t have to do any decorating at the new place. But what would a new place be without a good tv package. A quick Bing search for direct tv lowell and our little place was good to go.

One of my favorite things to do is to watch scary movies and read scary books. I've always been that way and my kids are kind of the same way, too. Well, as much as kids can be any way. So we all love Halloween around our household. This year the kids decided to throw a Halloween party for all of their friends and they asked me to make the house extra scary. So I'm working to do that by this Saturday.

I went online with our wireless internet Boise to find some ideas about what exactly I could do in our house to scare the kids out of fun. I thought that it wouldn't hurt to have something spooky at the top of the stairs or little things that they wouldn't expect to see in other parts of the house.

I think that my kids are really excited about the upcomign party and they keep asking me about when I'm going to start putting up the decorations. Not yet, I keep telling them. But they don't know that I'm equally excited to see how scary their friends think my decorations are.

The purse that I've been bringing around with me all summer is this really bright yellow. I really love it but I think that it's about time I find a new purse for fall. I can't really see myself taking a bright yellow purse with me to fall events like Thanksgiving. So I've been on the hunt for this really great new fall purse for me to take.

I've been shopping around online for a new purse and while I was doing that about a week ago, I ran acorss some TV and internet packages . I looked over them, showed them to my husband and after that we decided to switch over our home services to one of them.

I did end up finding this really adorable light brown purse. I really love big purses so I can throw everything in my purse and take it with me. It has soem really cute straps and bronze colored hardware all over it. I think that it's perfect and just my style. Plus, this is a purse that's going to last me for a while, I think beyond this fall season.

Cardio exercise

I've doing some cardio exercises every week lately as I really want to lose weight and shed extra fats on my belly. I'm kind of conscious how my belly looks since I gave birth. I hope I would lose weight in two months. I really have to be dedicated to attain this goal. I think this can be very challenging. I noticed that I can easily lose weight if I jog, so I'm going to do that often. I have a gym membership, but I haven't started going to the gym yet. :-( I want to go to the gym very soon so I can do more cardio exercises, like swimming, treadmill, etc.

We know that smoking cigarettes is dangerous to your health. I wonder why people still smoke cigarettes when it can cause different kinds of health issues. My boss has been riding me hard lately and with the economy the way it is I want to make sure I’m getting everything done I’m supposed to. He asked me to do some research on business solutions and I found a good package (more info here on that) and that seemed to please him but it seems like every day I don’t stay late (like, until 7 or 8 late) he gives me a disapproving look. I love him to death as a boss but ever since the pressure got worse for us to keep the business afloat he’s been being a little more overbearing. There’s a lot of hardship in the business world right now and I know we’re going to make it if we keep working together as a team so I’m going to do everything I can do to be a model employee. I think there’s something to be said for being a good assistant but my job description seems to be expanding week over week because of the cutbacks!
