Watched INCEPTION on Friday night! Well,I ll try to review this movie by trying “Poetry” for the First time in my life..!!

Here goes my 5 line “Poetic Review” of Inception:

“If you are in “Perception” that “INCEPTION”

is naive,crude and primitive “Reception”,

Then,be ready for the “Deception”

of Christopher Nolan’s Brilliant “Conception”

as this movie is an “Exception”!!

The main idea of this movie is “You can achieve your dream in your Dream”!! Confused? Read on!

Cobb,(Leonardo De Caprio) has this brilliant skill of entering people’s mind through dreams,extracting valuable secrets and thoughts from their subconscious mind in dream state. Cobb and his wife Mal had spent years together in their dreams building wonderful empire. Mal gets physchologically affected by this and wishes salvation. She commits suicide and leaves behind a note accusing Cobb for her suicide. Cobb now flees the country and has one hope of proving himself innocent and returning back to his children.

Cobb is given a chance of redemption when powerful Saito cracks a deal with him. This time the deal is “Not to steal idea, but to Plant an idea ” into his rival businessman Robert Fisher Jr. Saito promises Cobb that he would reunite him with his children if he plants an idea inside Fisher’s mind to break his father’s empire. Lured by the idea of reuniting, Cobb accepts this task.

Cobb always carries a “totem” which he spins to check if he is present in his dream or real world. If the totem spins indefinitely,its dream,else,its real world. If a person dies within a perticular dream experience,he enters a “limbo” state in which in which time is compounded so drastically that even few minutes of real time seems like decades.

Cobb and his team successfully drug Fisher in the plane and enter his dream. The circumstances demands them to enter a dream within a dream within a dream within a dream and so on. Thus they enter multiple levels of dreams to achieve their mission.

Christopher Nolan has beautifully embroidered this movie where each scene is co-relatively stitched to another.

If you bat your eyelid, or attend phone calls or nature calls or concentrate on your popcorn, then Congrats! You have lost “track” of this movie!!

Will Cobb’s dream of proving himself innocent and reuniting with his children ever come True? Keep an eye on rotating “Totem” throughout the movie for the answer!!

Witnessing the "High Voltage Drama" enacted by Congress govt over certain "objectional" scenes which have "uncanny" resemblances to our Honorable Sonia Gandhi in Prakash Jha's Rajneeti,I went to the movie with lot of expectations to witness these so called "resemblances" unfolding. But what astonished me is the truth of"existence of analogies" to "Ramayan","Mahabharat","Godfather" and "Sarkar Raj" instead but none with either Sonia Gandhi or Congress Party! Still wondering what the "Hue and Cry" by the Congress was all about?

Moving forward,the film kicks off with our Kunti Maata aka Bharti getting pregnant over rain smooch and abandoning the baby boy(Ajay Devgun) fearing the society. The movie is fast forwarded few years and a leader of a party suffering from heart attack on some celebration and is in ICU. Now the party is in jeopardy thinking over its heir. Our cunning Krishna Maama aka Naana Patekar uses his cunning brain and asks the leader to chose his heir. The leader surprisingly chooses his nephew(Arjun Rampal) over his own son (Manoj Bajpai) instigating normal reaction of hatred and opposition from him.In the meanwhile,Katrina Kaif is seen wooing her love Ranbir Kapoor who is least interested in her and who is already committed to some Gori abroad.

The ladies in the movie announce pregnancy over rain dances,shower,kisses and smooches must faster than characters in the movie change clothes. Arjun Rampal plays a guy with a short fuse who always lands in soup and is rescued by his younger brother,Ranbir Kapoor who abandons his Phd following their father's assasination at the airport when he had gone to escort Ranbir Kapoor to the airport.

There are various incidents from Ramayan and Mahabharatha shamelessly lifted like:
1>Manoj Bajpai exercising his power and nominating Ajay Devgun into his party when Ajay has a tussel with Arjun Rampal which is similar to a scene in Mahabharatha
2>Nana Patekar donning the avatar of Krishna from Mahabharatha
3>Ranbir Kapoor's undying love and dedication to his elder brother Arjun Rampal like Bharatha's love for Rama in Ramayan.
4>Ranbir Kapoor and Nana Patekar creating a Chakravyuha to kill Ajay Devgun and Manoj Bajpai where Krishna Maama aka Nana Patekar brainwashes Arjuna aka Ranbir Kapoor to kill Ajay Devgun when he is escorting the injured Manoj Bajpai to hospital.
5>There is one scene where Bharati on knowing Ajay Devgun is her eldest son whom she abandoned years ago,approaches him and speaks in Shudh Sanskrit as,"Beta,tum meri Jesth Putra ho,ghar vapas chalo" which makes the audience to burst out laughing.This scene is similar to Kunti approaching Karna and owning up that he is her son.

Many scenes from Godfather and Sarkar Raj are also lifted like:
1>Babu Lal,the aide of Manoj Bajpai wakes up one morning to find a dead corpse beside him,photos of him killing his friend scattered in his house. He is blackmailed by Ranbir Kapoor over phone which makes him spill the beans over the misdeeds and plans of Manoj Bajpai. This scene is similar to the scene in Godfather.
2>Another scene from Godfather and Sarkar Raj is lifted where the driver of Arjun Rampal aids in planting bomb in their cars which eventually kills Arjun Rampal and Ranbir Kapoor's foreign girl friend.

All these change of events make it simpler for Katrina Kaif to fulfill her dream and make it BIG in politics. She wins the election by sympathy votes.

The basic idea which the director is trying to portray is our junta will believe every Tom,Dick and Harry who poses himself as politician and makes false promises.

A total faltoo movie which could be easily avoided if you are familiar with Ramayan,Mahabharatha,God Father and Sarkar Raj.

If this movie was screened years back,it would have saved us from headache of getting glued to our tv sets to watch Ramanand Sagar's epic mega serials "Ramayan" and "Mahabharatha"!

Btw,I failed to draw similarities between Sonia Gandhi and Katrina Kaif (as cited by Congress Govt) except that both are foreign origin!

Walt Disney brings "Taare Zameen Par" to America!

Walt Disney is planning to screen the English version of Aamir Khan's movie "Taare Zameen Par" as "Like Stars on Earth" with English and Hindi Subtitles in North America starting Jan 12th 2010.

"Like Stars on Earth" also features young newcomer Darsheel Safary in an astonishingly nuanced performance that earned him a 2007 nomination for Best Actor in India's prestigious Filmfare Awards.

It will be a 3 disk DVD/CD and will be screened from Jan 12th 2010 in North America by Walt Disney. "Like Stars on Earth" with a feature run time of 165 minutes has a suggested retail price of US$29.99 and Canadian $35.99.

Seven infectious Bollywood dance numbers and vividly imagined animated interludes make this "a little twinkling star of a movie", as BBC Movie Reviews put it, a "sparkling example of why Indian cinema has rapidly become the most popular film import to the US".

Well,this movie moved me! Awesome performances by Aamir Khan,Darsheel, Tisca Chopra!

Indeed,a great lesson to be learnt by all the parents in this world that "Every child is SPECIAL"!

Well, just returned now after watching a matinee show of 'AVATAR' in 3D!

Oh My!! What a Movie!! The Graphics Rocks! Story Rocks! Direction Rocks!!

James Cameron, You are A.W.E.S.O.M.E!!!

Avatar is a story of blue skinned people inhibiting the Earth like moon called 'Pandora'. Their beliefs,rituals,etc.How mankind is so eager to take control of Pandora and how man's mission and attempts are made futile!

All I can say is 90% of this movie is Graphics .. even the Blue people you see in the movie is Graphics!

If you guys are in the misconception that AVATAR is like MATRIX, then wake up!! go and Watch this movie... as AVATAR is NOT like MATRIX!! ;)

3 Idiots!

Watched "3 Idiots"(Hindi movie) yesterday in theater in US. Its a fun filled movie which keeps you rolling on the floor with laughter. A Complete Family Entertainer!! :)

Usually,Indian movies are showcased only for 1 day in US. But this movie is to be showcased for the entire 1 week here in US!

Awesome performances by Aamir Khan,Madhavan,Sharmil Joshi,Boman Irani and Kareena Kapoor!

Aamir Khan Rocks!!!

Even though this movie provides 3 hours of rib tickling laughter, it camouflages certain messages like:

1>The stress and strain enforced by the current education system. The rat-race in current world,the hectic schedules,assigments,pressure enforced on students by it.

2>"Learning something for gaining knowledge" is always better than just "By-hearting and learning stuff just for the sake of marks"

3>Always Follow and LIVE your dream instead of just being what your family or your friends want you to be!

4>The suicides committed by depressed students over failure in exams,or failure in submission of assignments before deadlines,or tremendous pressure.

5>Even though this film doesnt bring down the current suicide rates, it makes people think that 'Life is worth living!'

After adressing various issues in movies like Lagaan,Rang De Basanti,Taare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan has addressed the current educational system and its pros and cons in the movie "3 Idiots"!!

This movie is based on Mayan Calendar's prediction that the world will end on Dec 21st 2012!

The movie starts off with the discovery of the earth's crust getting heated up in the astrophysics lab in a small village in India,how this message is propagated to US President,how the president keeps mum on this issue instead of revealing it to the fellow Americans,how China builds a huge Ark to save only a sample of every species in this world

A Divorced man finds about this prediction from a scientist when he takes his children to camp in Yellow Stone,USA. In the meanwhile the entire city of California is falling like a pack of cards! Its a story of how this divorced man saves his family by escaping from California to China,how he meets other people saves them,how they end up in China,boarding the Ark built by Chinese ...

The Graphics in this movie is 'Absolutely Brilliant' sure enough to keep you at the 'Edge of Your Seat'! Though this movie is based on Mayan Calendar,the concept used in this movie is Noah's Ark !

A must watch movie if you are a great fan of Graphics!!

Twilight!!??!!!

"Twilight Saga"- Well,this is the latest fad now a days with everyone pouncing on one another to get a glimpse of this book or watch this movie. Recently,its sequel 'New Moon' was released!

After hearing numerous hymns and acclamation about "Twilight", I decided to check what this Great Book was all about!

One month ago,I borrowed the book,'Twilight' from library(Thank Goodness that I did not buy this book) and began to read this "great" book.. only to realize that it was not "My Taste"!!

I found this book extremely childish and immature .. in short, It was a 'Teenage Thingy"!! ;)

I even quit reading this book halfway! (which I have not done to any of the books I have read so far..)

I am still wondering what make the adults so fantasized about this book or movie??!!

I have a habit of purchasing and possessing Fresh copies of Books. I possess a personal collection of around 200 books so far.. My Own Mini Library you can say!! ;)

Thank God that I did not buy this book to add it to my collection!!

No Offense to people who liked this book, I am just saying here that "I Did Not Like It!" ;)

Having ran from pillar to post for 3 months in order to procure this latest Dan Brown's book,'The Lost Symbol', I finally succeeded in reading it! Phew! What an achievement!

Dan Brown strikes again with this Awesome Thriller,'The Lost Symbol'. It is a Definitely an 'Engrossing Page Turner' with numerous twists and turns!

I was also fascinated to read and learn about numerous facts like Hands of Mystery,George washington zeus,Apothesis,Neotic sciences,SBB 13,Runic language,Free masons,Circumpunct,Rose Cross,
Rosicrucian Philosophy,Jeova Sanctus Unus,Newton Scale,Verbum Signicatium,TLV,The Order 8th Franklin Square,Heredom,Akedah Knife,Laus Deo and many more...

The plot also reveals the secret buildings,places and spots in US Capitol,Washington D.C, Freedom Plaza,Washington Monument and many more!

Paths of Glory- Jeffery Archer

After reading Jeffery Archer's latest novel,'Paths of Glory', I had thought this was just another fictional story,but not until I googled for 'George Mallory' and bumped myself onto the Wikipedia webpage containing the details of George Mallory!

I was really amazed to read the same sequence of events,incidents,characters pertaining to George Mallory like his ambitions,his family,his school life,his marriage life,his expeditions,his cimbling crew,his conquest etc mentioned in Wikipedia in comparison with Jeffery Archer's 'Paths of Glory'!! Then I realised that 'Paths of Glory' is based on real life incident of George Mallory!!

According to Wikipedia sources and Jeffery Archer's novel 'Paths of Glory', George Mallory,an English Mountaineer,along with his climbing partner Andrew Irvine are believed to have reached the summit of Mt Everest,(the highest peak in the world which is 27000 feet) on June 24th 1924 on their third expedition to conquer Mt Everest. This pair disappeared somewhere on the North East ridge during their attempt to make the first ascent on world's highest mountain. They were last seen by their climbing partners about few hundred meters from the summit.

George Mallory's body was found 75 years after his expedition in 1999. There are huge amount of research,speculation,contradicting theories doing its rounds on whether George Mallory and Andrew Irvine had actually reached the summit of Mt Everest in 1924,before their death on Mt Everest in this expedition!

George Mallory was a passionate mountaineer who had great passion for conquering the Mt Everest.Once when some reporter asked him as to why he wanted to conquer the Everest,he is believed to have told,"Because its there"!!

There are few speculations that George Mallory had actually reached the summit of Mt Everest

1>George Mallory had plans of placing his wife's Ruth's photograph on the summit of Mt Everest. When his body was found, all the items including his clothes,wallet,documents were intact but Ruth's photograph was missing. So the researchers believe that he must have reached the summit and must have deposited her photo there.

But subsequent mountaineers who reached the summit report no evidence of any photograph on the summit.

2>George Mallory's snow goggles were found in his pocket suggesting that they had reached the summit and were descending after sunset. A few days earlier,his climbing partner Norton had suffered serious snow blindness when he had not worn the snow goggles in this expedition on his way up the mountain. So few theories states that George Mallory would not have removed his goggles on his way to the summit,but must have removed his goggles on their way back down.

But few contradicting theories states that George Mallory must have carried an extra pair of snow goggles.

Jeffery Archer's novel 'Paths of Glory' sparked controversies in New Zealand with New Zealanders calling this novel an insult to Sir Edmund Hillary who is considered as the First man to set his foot on the summit of Mt Everest in 1953!

Despite all these controversies, Jeffery Archer's 'Paths of Glory' is an Interesting Read!

Shawshank Redemption

The film portrays Andy spending nearly two decades in Shawshank State Prison and his friendship with Red, a fellow inmate.
Andy is convicted for murdering his wife and her lover and is sent to prison.
The story starts off with how Andy's life changes in prison,how he befriends other inmates and keeps himself busy.
He later takes up the task of filing IT returns of the Jailor,General and other officers in prison to save their illegal possesions.
He later discovers that he is wrongly convicted for his wife's murder and actually his wife was murdered by some other person when a new convict tells him a story of actual murderer's confession in other prison.
So Andy approaches his Jailor and General and spills the beans and pleads innocence.
But the General is not ready to release him because Andy was taking care of the General's illegal possessions,so the general gets the witness murdered.
The story then revolves as to how Andy proves himself innocent and gets out of prison

Forrest Gump

This is a story of a small handicapped,below IQ boy named Forrest Gump,played by Tom Hanks.

He is crippled since his childhood and also not so mentally sound.

He is rejected admission into normal school because his IQ is less than normal IQ.

But then he gains education,joins the army,learns to play ping pong,becomes a master in it,receives gallantary award for saving his comrades life during vietnam war,how he starts a shrimp business and flourishes in it,how he becomes an idol to millions of people in the world.

This is an unusual story of a below IQ boy achieving many things in his life.

Tom Hanks acting is commendable!

Run Lola Run

This is a German movie with the story of a woman who needs to obtain 100,000 Deutsche Mark in 20 minutes to save her boyfriend's life.

The film begins with Lola receiving a phone call from her boyfriend Manni. He works as a low-level courier for Ronnie, a local crime boss. Manni was supposed to bring 100,000 DM (the profits from an ostensibly illicit sale of diamonds) to his boss. Lola fails to pick him up after the exchange due to her Scooter being stolen that morning, so he had to take the subway. He panics when he sees some ticket controllers on the subway and gets off of the train, accidentally leaving the bag with the 100,000 marks behind. The bag is picked up by a homeless person.

Manni has to deliver the 100,000 mark in 20 minutes or face punishment from his boss - possibly murder.

So,this story is about how Lola is able to save her boyfriend's life within 20 minutes of her time.

P.S: Since it is a German movie,watch it with English subtitles if you cant understand German!

But do not miss this movie!

Final Destination

Final Destination is a horror movie about a group of teenagers who cheat death by avoiding a plane crash when one of them, Alex, has a premonition of their deaths.

When seated inside the plane,Alex drems of him exchanging a seat with his fellow classmate,then the seat handle of his new seat being broken and later after few seconds,how the plane crashes in mid air.

When he wakes up in the plane,the sequence of events which he saw in his dream actually happens like.. he exchanging seats with his classmate,seat handle being broken.

So he starts shouting and informing everyone on the plane that this plane will crash in mid-air.

The security officials drags him along with other 6 people who who created ruskus out of the plane and the plane takes off.

But as Alex had forseen,the plane does crash mid-air. Now Alex is devastated with what ever is happening to him

But soon after their escape, they begin dying one-by-one in mysterious freak accidents.

This is an amazing story about how Alex can forsee as to who will die next and how the next person will die.

Capricorn One

This is a story about how NASA fakes the Mars landing Mission and fools the entire world.

Minutes before launch, the bewildered crew of Col. Brubaker, Lt. Col. Willis , and Cmdr. Walker are removed from the capsule and flown to an old abandoned U.S Army Air corps base deep within the desert. The televised launch proceeds on schedule, but the public is unaware that the spacecraft (Capricorn One) does not have a crew.

The public continues to beleive that these 3 men are on their mission.

One scientist at NASA detects some irregularities in signal transmissions and smells something fishy in this mission.He informs this to his boss,but the boss flatly dismisses it by saying that the machine on which the scientist is receiving signals is mal-functioning.

The scientist later tries the same experiment on different machines and he is confirmed that something is fishy about the Mars mission.

So he shares his concern with his journalist friend. Two days later,the scientist is missing,NASA denies the existance of any such scientist in their crew and the apt in which lived denies the existance of any scientist by that name.

This makes the journilist more suspicious about the MARS mission and he starts investigating and finally proves to the world that this is a fake mission

Slumdog Millionaire-originally Q/A

A book 'Q /A ' originally by Vikram Swaroop is an excellent story of a boy from slum ,participating in a 'Who Wants to Be a Billionaire' quiz show and winning billion dollars.

The film 'Slumdog Millionaire' was recently released based on this book which created waves throughout the world and won BAFTA and Oscars.

But i personally feel that book is more captivating,has less flaws,neatly woven and is inetresting.

In the book,the boy's name is Ram Mohd Thomas. He has the name Ram and Mohd in order to protect himself during hindu-muslim fights. He is raised by a father of the church,so he is named Thomas.

This is an excellent story of a boy who is from slums reaching the quiz show and wining the cash prize.

The police suspects him of cheating as he is from slums and is an illiterate.

But the boy has actually answered all the questions from his life experiences!

Every question he is asked in the quiz show has a link to an experience in his life.!

Men are from Mars,Women are from Venus

This is an amazing piece of work by John Gray

This book explains why both Men and Women are born different,why they act,think and react different.

This book explains how Men and Women are physically,physchologically,emotionally,logically

different.

John Gray gives various scenarios in the book and explains how Men and Women act,think,react Differently for the same scenarios.

He explains what makes Men happy,angry,wild,sad etc and how women should deal when men are in such emotions.

Same is the case with women also.

This book is a must read for all the people in order to understand the other sex better

Prisoner of Birth

A book by Jerffery Archer.

This is a story of a Danny Cartwright wrongly convicted for his best friend,Bernie's murder whose sister Beth Wilson he is planning to marry.

They all are happily celebrating the occasion of Danny proposing to Beth wilson in a pub.

Everything was fine until some vegabonds picked up a fight and killed Bernie.

Danny is arrested for this murder and sent to prison.

This story then eveolves about how his life changes in prison,how he faces the circumstances and how he proves himself as innocent.

Erich Segal's Love Story

This is a Brilliant Love Story by Erich Segal.

This is a story about a rich boy falling in love with the poor girl and later marrying her despite opposition from his dad.

The story revolves around the couple as to how they struggle hard to earn money,fulfil their amibitions and lead a happy life.

Then the boy discovers that the girl has developed cancer and she will be with him for only short period of time.

The story is all about how the boy faces and accepts this and how this news changes his life

Time to Kill

This is a story of a Black American girl getting raped by 2 drunkard white americans.

But the court will set the culprits free as they are white americans. The father of the girl is devastated and he kills the culprit as revenge and is put behind bars.

Then a white american lawyer takes up the responsibility of freeing the father who is behind bars.

The lawyer experiences opposition and threats from other white americans for taking up the case of black american.

The lawyer's life,his wife and chil'd life is also under threat.

This is a story of the differenciation meted out between blacks and whites in america and how the lawyer finally succeds and wins the case despite all odds

P.S I Love You

This is an amazing Romantic novel by Cecelia Ahern!

This is a story of a couple Holly and Gerry who are happily married. Gerry dies of brain tumour and Holly is devastated and withdrawn.

She then finds the messages left behind by Gerry for her in twelve envelopes . She has the instructions of opening one envelope per month.

She opens the first envelope the first month and Gerry would have left her a message to do something that she always wanted to do,but had never tried.

Subsequent envelopes also contains messages asking Holly to do things which she was scared of or always wanted to do,but never had tried.

So Gerry acts as her Guardian Angel guiding her through paths,helping her conquering her fears and being with her always through his messages even though he is far away from her.

At the end of 12 months,Holly discovers that she had conquered her fears,fulfilled all her un-fulfilled ambitions and then feels extremely happy.

A lovely book which explains the depth of love,concern and committment

Da Vinci code

This book written by Dan Brown is another favourite book of mine.

This is a story about Robert Langdon investigating the murder of curator of the museum, Jacques Saunière (the Grand Master Of Priory of Sion)

Robert Langdon will be called for deciphering the code written near the body,while the police believe that Robert Langdon is the prime suspect.

Sophia Neveu shows up at the murder scene as a police cryptographer and quickly gains Langdon's trust. Jacques Saunière was Neveu's grandfather.

Both of them start deciphering the codes where one code leads to another and finally to a key of the safe.

Inside the safe deposit box they find the keystone which is actually a large cryptex, a cylindrical device supposedly invented by Leonardo Da Vinci for transporting secure messages. In order to open it the combination of rotating components must be arranged in the correct order. If the cryptex is forced open an enclosed vial of vinegar ruptures and dissolves the message, which was written on papyrus.

How do they find out the combination of the key and read the message?

This is an amazing story with twists and turns.

The 'SIXTH SENSE'

An English movie by M Night Shyamalan(An Indian)

This is a movie of a small boy who sees dead people!

The movie starts with the murder of a renowned Child Pschychologist,Dr Malcolm Crowe by his student as the Dr was unable to cure him.

Then the movie fast forwards one year later and shows how the Dr again meets another small boy who is undergoing the small pschychological fear as his previous patient.

The Dr feels that he should cure this boy as he was unable to cure his previous patient.

But this boy is not candid enough to inform the doctor about his problems.

The Dr befriends him and makes the boy spill out a secret that has been troubling the boy since ages-- that is "The boy can see Dead People walking around and talking to him" and they want the boy to do tasks for them!

The boy is experiencing great fear due to this,but is unable to tell anyone as no body beleives him and everybody thinks that the boy is a FREAK!

So,the boy will be silent,introvert and withdrawn always

The boy then meets this doctor and spills the beans to him. The doctor is so involved in solving this issue and treating the boy that he starts neglecting his family and wife and his marriage is on rocks!

The Dr later divulges a plan and informs the boy as to how to handle this issue.

This is an AWESOME-Must Watch Thriller movie which is full of twists and turns and the movie ends with an AMAZING TWIST! :)
