Today, I would like to blog about my visit to this cafe called Seasons by Spatula located at Aurora Place, Bukit Jalil. Nice cafe to chillax.

Not crowded during the time I visited, fortunately. I never like crowded cafes and especially now when we need to social distance due to Covid-19, it's really quite risky to dine inside a crowded cafe!

There was a cute pet bunny running around in the cafe. Look!

I had Latte with oat milk and Ava-Toast (avacado toast). Love the coffee and the toast! Yummy.

It's a good cafe to chill or to do your work. Don't mind returning here again.

By the way, this cafe is just about 5 minutes walk from the new Pavilion Bukit Jalil shopping mall. Very convenient place to go after your shopping.

This is the final part of the series. Hope you have found these notes useful!

Joey Yap shared how we can use Qi Men to activate certain abilities within us. Each compass direction is useful for activating certain abilities.

East - Magnetism. Ability to attract people into your life.

South East - Wisdom

South - Polarization. Increase aura for protection from negative energy.

South West - Intuitive eyes.

West - Super learning. Enhance comprehension.

North West - Circle of light. Protection against evil spiritsand back stabbing.

North - Cleansing. Cleanse negative energy, karma and thoughts.

North East - Spiritual Assist. Summon sage, past masters, getting help from the divine.

Joey Yap only gave the date and time for three of the abilities, namely Magnetism, Super Learning and Circle of Light.

Magnetism - Feb 5, 2022 between 1pm - 3pm. Sit with your back facing East.

Super Learning - Feb 9, 2022 between 5pm - 7pm. Sit with your back facing West.

Circle Of Light - Feb 26, 2022 between 7pm - 9pm. Sit with your back facing North West.

How to activate? First, sit down with your back facing the correct direction. Calm your mind down by counting from 64 down to 1. Then start your visualisation.

For Magnetism, visualise that people are interested to talk to you and they are enjoying your company. Hold that thought process for about 10 mins.

For Super Learning, think about 3 subjects you want to master. Imagine what you can do with your new skills, and how your life turns out using these new skills. Again, hold these thoughts for about 10 mins.

For Circle Of Light, mentally draw a circle of bright light around where you sit. The circle of light should start small and slowly enlarge. Inside this light, feel safe and joyful. Hold these thoughts for about 10 mins.

Receiving God Of Wealth (Star Of Wealth)

There are three directions you can face. You can do one or do all.

In this part, I will talk about how to increase your income using flying star feng shui. Here again is the Flying Star Chart for 2022.

Most people will immediately think of Star 8 when it comes to wealth and making money. However, according to Joey Yap, there may be other more appropriate stars to use depending on what you want to achieve.

So here are 5 Ways To Increase Income In 2022.

1. Be Indispensable In Your Job - Star 6 (NW)

By being indispensable, you are assured that you remain at your job and not become a victim of your company's downsizing. The NorthWest sector in your house is where you should work from home, do your meetings or research.

2. Join Profit Stream Of Your Organisation - Star 9 (S)

This is for those of you who are in sales or any job that brings in money to the company you are working with, in other words, you are paid commissions on top of your fixed monthly salary. The South sector of the house is where you should work on leads and marketing.

3. Intrapreneur - Star 1 (N)

This is for those of you who want to start a business but do not have enough capital, so you just be a semi-business owner while still working for a salary. You can do this by suggesting a business or money making idea to your boss whereby if it works out, you agree to keep just 10% of the profit while your boss takes the rest. Use this North sector of your house to do the planning.

4. Ultimate Skill - Star 4 (SE)

Learn a money making skill in this SouthEast sector of your house.

5. Side Gigs - Star 8 (NE)

This is a part-time business eg. teaching, marketing etc. Use this NorthEast sector to plan a side gig for extra income.

Now, if you are already a business owner, here are the sectors you can utilise.

To generate leads and more customers, use Star 9 (S)

To increase products/service range, do your research in Star 4 (SE)

To get the right people or funding, use Star 1 (N)

To collect money faster, faster turnover, use Star 8 (NE)

To manage a team and motivate them, have meetings at Star 6 (NW)

For better communication and better presentation, practise your sales speech and presentation in Star 7 (W)

To increase enrolment or get more people to join your membership, use Star 2 (SW)

To increase territory and market share, plan your branding and campaign launch at Star 3 (E).

Feng Shui 2022 According To Joey Yap (Part 2)

Before reading this, you may want to read Part 1 if you haven't already.

Here is the Flying Star Chart for 2022. (Image taken from a screenshot of Joey Yap's online seminar)

As you can see from the Chart, the Illness Star 2 is in the SouthWest and the dreaded Five Yellow (Star 5) is in the centre. This year's chart is also a Fuyin Chart, meaning the stars have all flown back to their original positions.

If your bedroom is in the SouthWest sector of your house, the best way is of course to move out of that room. But if like most people you cannot easily change room, then one way is to change the position of your bed. Superimpose this Flying Star chart onto your bedroom and locate the Star 8 (NE) sector in your room. Then move your bed into the NE sector of your room.

If moving your bed is impossible, then you can try placing your medications or supplements in this NE sector of your bedroom. Make it a habit to take your medicines in this area of your room. This may help mitigate the illness star to a certain extent.

Take note that Star 2 is not all bad. It is actually a good star for properties and real estate. If your bedroom door is located in the NE sector of your bedroom, then staying in this room will actually be good for you in terms of property gains.

Certainly if you are young and healthy, having a bedroom in the SW sector of your house won't pose much of a problem. However, if you are already suffering from some health issues, or you are over the age of 65, then the Illness Star will be problematic for you.

Joey Yap did not mention this, but in my opinion, you can also mitigate the Illness Star by placing the salt water cure here. Please google about how to prepare this salt water cure. Or you can place metal objects in this room to weaken the Illness Star.

Next, let's talk about the Five Yellow. Located at the centre of your house this year, it would be quite difficult to avoid it. Since Five Yellow is essentially an Earth element, it would be wise to use Metal to weaken it. Place a metal object here to mitigate the Five Yellow. Any metal object will do (size matters of course - if your house is huge, the metal object cannot be a tiny metal padlock for example)

What are metal objects? These are all considered metal - Gold, Silver, Pewter, Bronze, Copper, Iron, Aluminium. Take your pick.

Fire element is a big no no in this area as Fire produces Earth. So a kitchen here would be problematic especially when you cook with fire everyday. One way to avoid in my opinion, is don't cook at all for this whole year. Lol! Just eat out or takeaway. Or if you really, really cannot not cook, then remember to place metal objects here.

Joey Yap did not say this but no, the metal pots and pans already in your kitchen don't count. You have to place a new metal object with the INTENTION to weaken the Five Yellow. The intention part is very important.

Feng Shui 2022 According To Joey Yap (Part 1)

Hello, everyone! I am back blogging!

When was my last post? I think it was back in 2019. Lol!

Today I will share a little bit of what I learnt from Joey Yap's Feng Shui & Astrology 2022 which was held online just like last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. No, I won't be sharing everything cos that takes too much time and effort. Besides, I paid for the seminar so it is not very fair to me if you get everything for free, right? Lol!

OK, let's go straight to the Joey Yap FSA 2022 seminar. Instead of writing an essay, I am going into point form for easy reading. Hate reading essays nowadays lol. Also there will be less photos in my blog. If you like to see photos more than reading, go to my Instagram.

1. Period 9 will officially start in 2024, but the effects are already felt this year.

2. Fire element is missing from the 2022 Bazi Chart, so the year will be erratic, scary and probably exhausting.

3. Birth of the Metaverse in 2022 not just in tech, but also spirituality. There will be a new age of spirituality.

4. If you have Monkey in your Personal Bazi Chart, be prepared for a huge transformation! But only if you embrace change will you achieve breakthrough. Otherwise, it will be a difficult year for you.

5. Wood is dominant element in the 2022 Bazi Chart. Wood represents medicine, so there will probably be medical help for Covid-19 this year.

6. Water is second most dominant element in the 2022 Bazi Chart. Combining with wood, it indicates floating wood which represents people seeking directions. It could also mean more water-related natural disasters.

7. According to the Mother Earth Oracle, there is indication that prices of food will be going up (signs of inflation) in 2022. Also, there might be a sudden major loss of wealth so aim to keep money that you earn and not spend everything. Also, don't depend on just one source of income. Aim for multiple sources of income.

8. To prepare for 2022, expect the unexpected. Prioritze cashflow over cash (get a side gig if possible). Stack the small wins - When doing well take the profits and save first. Don't aim for the big wealth. Take good care of your health.

Feng Shui 2019 According To Joey Yap (Part 3)

In this final part, I will share a little on the Flying Star Feng Shui for 2019 and also on the dates and times for activating the four major auspicious stars.

The Five Yellow in the South West is the most dreaded sector this year. Make sure you keep this area quiet. No drilling, renovation, moving of furniture or nailing the wall here. You can reduce the bad effects simply by placing heavy metal objects here. And also, you can activate the good stars (read below) so that the positive effects will lessen the negative effects caused by this dreaded Five Yellow.

The Illness Star in the North East can be mitigated by placing heavy metal objects here. Try not to activate the energy in this sector by avoiding renovation in this area.

The Three Killings in the West is also another sector that is not to be disturbed with any type of activities. However the West this year is a good area to increase your chances of finding noble people, as such you should spend more time here. Just do not do any renovation, digging, drilling etc. that could activate the Three Killings.

In 2019, it's most beneficial to spend more time in the North, North West, East and Centre. North sector is particularly good if you are studying or learning new things. East and North West are good for career advancement. The Centre is good for increasing wealth.

Here are the dates and times to activate the four major auspicious stars in 2019. Animals in brackets means clash - if you have the animal signs in your Bazi Chart, activating the sector may not bring beneficial effects.

This year, I am keeping my blog posts short and simple. Most of the things that I don't share here can already be found on Joey Yap's Thriver's Guide 2019 which is free to download for a limited time. The guide covers the outlook for 2019, the good and bad sectors of your home according to Flying Star feng shui and the auxiliary stars found in each of the 12 animal signs.

Remember that famous news about Donald Trump watching the solar eclipse back in 2017? Maybe that's why he's not doing very well now. Anyway, stay safe and get indoors during the solar eclipse.

Feng Shui 2019 According To Joey Yap (Part 1)

This year, Joey Yap's Feng Shui and Astrology Seminar in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia was held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) instead of KL Convention Centre like the previous years.

I attended the English session on Saturday, and the turn-out was incredible, with about 8,000 people in attendance - making it the biggest Chinese metaphysics event in the world!

This year, I will keep my blog post short as I realized that you can find most of the information you need from Joey Yap's Thriver's Guide 2019. GET IT HERE if you have not already done so. It's FREE :)

Bazi Chart for 2019 (image taken from seminar booklet)

Globally, the 5 elements from strongest to weakest are Fire, Earth, Water, Wood and Metal. However, in Malaysia, the order is slightly different with Earth being the strongest, followed by Water, Fire, Wood and Metal (the weakest).

If you have all the top three elements in the Heavenly Stems (top row) of your Personal Bazi Chart, you will very likely receive Dumb Money this year. Dumb money is money you received without much effort and hard work from your part.

If you have all the top three elements in the Earthly Branches (bottom row) of your Personal Bazi Chart, then you will be getting Smart Money this year. Smart money is money you obtain from hard work.

Joey Yap termed these 4 animal signs as The Four Kings in 2019. In other words, they have the most auspicious stars and are the best animals to have in your Personal Bazi Chart for this year. The Four Kings are Monkey, Horse, Tiger and Rabbit.

I assume you already know what are the four animal signs in your Personal Bazi Chart. If you don't, remember to get your Bazi Chart HERE.

Wealth related stars can be found in Monkey, Rabbit, Goat, Snake, Tiger and Rat. If Monkey is in your Year Pillar, try to mix with people who can increase your value. If there are too many Rabbits in your Personal Bazi Chart, you can attain wealth but only if you work really hard. However if you don't have any of these animals in your chart, you can try to activate the North West.

Relationship related stars are found in the Dog, Dragon, Tiger and Rat.

Career related stars are found in Rabbit, Snake and Boar.

Helpful People stars are found in Rat, Monkey, Tiger and Snake.

Problem Solving stars are found in Horse, Boar and Dog.

Property Luck related stars are found in Horse (good for buying properties), Monkey (good for selling properties) and Rat.

If fame is what you are looking for, then make sure you have the Rabbit and/or the Boar in your chart.

Academic related stars are found in Rooster, Goat, Tiger, Ox and Dog.

Joey Yap mentioned that the North sector this year is the best location for Star 4 (academic) in this Period of 8. So make sure you spend more time in the North sector for academic pursuits. It's also a good sector to find solutions and manifest outcomes.

Forgetfulness related stars are found in the Tiger and Rat this year.

People with the Goat, Tiger and Ox would probably feel more stressful this year.

And people with the Rooster, Goat, Tiger and Monkey will be more prone to accidents, especially Rooster. So try not to do anything too risky (like bungee jumping) but stay safe this year.

In this final part, I will be sharing about the auxiliary stars found in the 12 animal signs. Every year, different stars reside in each of the 12 animal signs.

Before proceeding further, you might want to get a better understanding on how to find the animal signs in your Personal Bazi Chart and what each of the 4 pillars of the chart represent. Since I have written about it last year, I won't be repeating it this year. Read about it HERE.

Now let's take a look at the various stars in different categories and the animal signs they reside in the year 2018.

WEALTH
Found in Ox, Goat, Horse, Dog and Monkey

1. Moon (Ox) - Great for those who want to start their own business. If you are currently working for others, you might want to consider starting your own business this year.

2. National Treasure (Ox) - Having this star means you have the ability to control your finance and budget.

3. Jade Hall (Goat) - This star represents increase in the value of your assets. If no asset, then it's a good time to acquire asset this year. If the Goat is in your Year or Month pillar, buy commercial related property. If the Goat is in your Day or Hour pillar, buy residential house.

4. Golden Chest (Horse) - Having this star means people will trust you. Trust is the most valuable commodity in business. So if you are in business, or you are doing sales, teaching, or any kind of leadership role, this star is excellent.

5. Elegant Seal (Dog) - Good for artists and those in creative line.

6. Sky Horse (Monkey) - Good for traveling. What this means is that you can do business overseas, either by flying to another country or doing an online business. Also if you have this star, you have the ability to successfully change to a different industry.

RELATIONSHIPS
Found in Pig, Snake and Rabbit

1. Sky Happiness (Pig) - If you are single, you have a good chance to find someone. If you are married, there is a possibility of a new addition to your family.

2. Red Matchmaker (Snake) - This star represents love at first sight as your likeability increased. If the Snake is in your Year or Month pillar, people will find you a very good company. If the Snake is in your Day or Hour pillar and you are single, you will suddenly fall in love. Or people will fall in love with you.

3. Salty Pool (Rabbit) - Passion and desire increase if you have this star. May attract unwanted relationship, so be aware. If the Rabbit is in your Year or Month pillar, you get easily distracted in your business and career. If the Rabbit is in your Day or Hour pillar, you get easily distracted in your relationships.

POWER
Found in Horse, Dog and Dragon

1. The General (Horse) - With this star, you tend to be in charge by taking on two or more roles in your work. This does not mean you have a pay increase, but you will have more power. If you are someone who do not like to do more, this star is not for you.

2. The Duke's Arrival (Dog) - This star gets you more attention. A lot of people will look at what you do and comment or criticize you. Only good for those who like attention. If you are someone who like to keep a low profile, having this star will make you more stressful!

3. Heavenly Power (Dragon) - Denotes authority and responsibility. With this star, you can be more proactive in your career or relationship and make major decisions and take on new responsibility.

OFFENDING GRAND DUKE
Found in Dog, Rooster and Dragon

1. Dog - Dog in a Dog Year is definitely offending the Grand Duke. You will most likely suffer emotional setbacks like sudden bouts of depression and some slight pessimistic feelings.

2. Rooster - Not a peaceful year. You will feel somewhat uneasy.

3. Dragon - Clashes with Grand Duke - this means big changes which can be good or bad.

HELPFUL PEOPLE
Found in Ox, Goat, Rat, and Pig

1. Heavenly Yi (Ox) - This star brings mentor into your life. It's the only one that people will come into your life and force to help you, so do not reject, but accept and say thank you!

2. Fortune Virtue (Goat) - A fortune star where you get to enjoy life, have lots of good food and parties. If someone invites you to a party, go!

3. Advisor (Rat) - If you have this star, go find the right teacher or guru. It's good time to learn under a guru.

4. Sun (Pig) - Having this star means you become the helpful person to others. Helping others is a good thing!

PARTNERSHIP
Found in Horse, Rabbit and Pig

Advice from Joey Yap - Get a partner to help you achieve what you can't do yourself. Never get a partner just because both of you are compatible with each other.

1. Horse - Lots of partners

2. Rabbit - One partner

3. Pig - Hidden partner. This means someone invest in you but he or she is hidden behind the scenes.

SPIRITUAL
Found in Dragon, Ox, Dog and Goat

We are moving into the 24 years of spiritual trend since 2017. If you have any of these 4 animal signs, it is advisable to pursue spiritual studies.

SOLVING PROBLEMS
Found in Snake, Rat and Dragon

1. Dragon Virtue (Snake) - This is a good star to have as you will be able to solve other people's problems and get paid for them!

2. Relief God (Rat) - This star enables you to solve your own personal problems eg, health, relationships etc. Also a good star to have if you are going for surgery as it helps solve your health problem.

3. Month Emptiness (Dragon) - This star will help dissolve your problems, it makes your big issues (problems) reduced into small issues, and the small issues reduced to no issue.

PROPERTY LUCK
Found in Horse, Tiger and Ox

1. Earth Relief and Golden Chest (Horse) - With this stars, the right offer and property comes to you.

2. Earth Star (Tiger) - This star enhances your ability to find a property.

3. Jade Hall (Ox) - Your assets will appreciate, but only if you have assets!

FAME
Found in Rat, Tiger and Horse

1. Eight Seats (Rat) - Excellent for artists and anyone who is trying to be famous and popular. Your posts on social media (eg. Instagram, Facebook) can also have a higher chance of going viral.

Found in Tiger, Dragon and Ox

1. Back Poking (Tiger) - Having this star means you will get poked in the back by people this year.

2. Leopard Tail (Dragon) - This star causes you to step on other people's tail, in other words, you tend to offend others.

3. Curl Tongue (Ox) - People argue with you and say you are no good.

SPENDING MONEY
Found in Rabbit and Dragon

1. Lesser Consumer (Rabbit) - You tend to spend a lot on things you like.

2. Greater Consumer (Dragon) - Indicates abrupt change which means you will suddenly spend a huge sum of money which affects you financially. To counter this, don't keep so much money at hand and instead invest in property or assets so that even though you are spending huge sums of money, it is more beneficial to you in the long term.

1. Robbery Sha (Pig) - Likely to get robbed or cheated.

1. Sickness Charm (Rooster) - Sickness and bad health this year. Any health problem from last year may worsen this year. Avoid sleeping in the West sector as it's the illness sector in 2018.

My Visit To The National Planetarium Of Malaysia

Last month, I visited Planetarium Negara (National Planetarium) with a friend from Singapore. It was my second time visiting this tourist attraction in Kuala Lumpur although my first time was more than 15 years ago!

I did not think about visiting it until my Singaporean friend who would be flying over to Kuala Lumpur for a short holiday told me he wanted to visit it. So I thought it would be a good opportunity for me to play tour guide. Lol.

It was a rather last minute decision for my friend to have his holidays in Malaysia so he had some difficulty getting cheap flights from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur. At first, I thought he would not make it, but luckily, he managed to secure his air ticket at quite a reasonable price!

Getting to Planetarium Negara was easy. I did not drive my friend there. Neither did we sit a taxi or get a Uber driver to take us there. Since my friend was staying at the Royale Chulan Damansara Hotel near The Curve shopping mall in Mutiara Damansara, we simply took the MRT. It was really convenient as the Mutiara Damansara MRT Station is just 5 minutes walk from the hotel!

We alighted at the Muzium Negara MRT Station. The ride from Mutiara Damansara to Muzium Negara took less than 20 minutes.

The exit door (PIntu B) which leads directly to the front entrance of Muzium Negara (National Museum).

Did we visit Muzium Negara, which is another famous tourist attraction in Kuala Lumpur? Yes, we did, but perhaps I will blog about it in another post as this post is about the National Planetarium.

To get to Planetarium Negara, you need to walk up the stairs to cross the pedestrian bridge to the other side of the road. The stairs is located very near to this statue. Look for the signboard that shows direction to the Planetarium.

There were not many people walking the pedestrian bridge that day. Hence, we had the whole bridge to ourselves. Lol.

The pedestrian bridge links Muzium Negara to the Planetarium. Below is Jalan Damansara.

Reaching the Planetarium open space car park, you can see this signboard showing the details and map of the National Planetarium.

As you can see, there are many interesting attractions both inside and outside the Planetarium building.

This is the National Planetarium building with its blue dome and a tall tower beside it. Situated on top of the hill at the Lake Gardens area in Kuala Lumpur, it was built back in 1990 and opened to the public in 1993.

I did not take many pictures of the insides as it was rather dim. Most of the exhibits inside are related to space science. By the way, it is free entry except for the space theatre, which we did not enter.

One of the many exhibits include this Viking rocket engine. I am not really a huge fan of such exhibits, but my friend love them, so it's really no wonder why he wanted so much to visit this Planetarium.

You can also go up the Observatory Tower where you can enjoy the city skyline and look through the telescope.

Outside the building, in the garden area you can find many replicas of ancient observatories.

This is a replica of the infamous Stonehenge in Wiltshire, England.

This is Jai Singh Observatory, which is actually an ancient sundial.

Another sundial known as Guo Shou Jing Observatory, from China.

This is called The Merdeka Sundial, located near the Satellite Station.

A weird looking sculpture that is supposed to symbolise space and time.

Another sundial located halfway the stairs going up to the Planetarium building.

We spent about one hour at this Planetarium. I thought it was worth visiting although some people may think otherwise. Anyway, it's one item off my Singaporean friend's checklist of places to visit in Kuala Lumpur. The National Planetarium opens daily from 9am till 4.30pm except on Mondays.

Feng Shui 2018 According To Joey Yap (Part 4)

The Afflictions For 2018 are as follows :

1. Grand Duke - NorthWest 1
Joey Yap said there's no need to be afraid of this Grand Duke. It only affects old people, usually affecting their health. There is no real solution to this affliction other than not staying or sleeping in this NorthWest 1 sector. Also do not renovate this sector.

2. Year Breaker - SouthEast 1
If activated, this affliction would cause unnecessary spending. However, Joey Yap said that if you enhance the wealth star, income capacity will increase and as such, the additional spending would not be too much of a problem.

3. Five Yellow - North
4. Three Killings - North
Both Five Yellow and Three Killings are in the North this year which makes North the most unlucky sector for 2018. Absolutely no renovation, as this double whammy afflictions would certainly spell disaster to your wealth, career and health.

Here are some examples on how you can possibly trigger the Five Yellow and the Three Killings in the North :
1. construction / renovation
2. installing an aquarium or building a swimming pool
3. planting a tree / digging the ground
4. moving the furniture around
5. changing the entire bed mattress or moving the bed

Make sure that you don't do any of the above in your North sector this year!

Note that sleeping or cooking in the North would not trigger the Five Yellow and Three Killings, so do not worry too much if your bedroom or kitchen is in the North.

However, if your neighbour to your North decides to renovate their house this year, that would most certainly activate the Five Yellow and Three Killings for you even though it's none of your fault!

In such an unfortunate case, Joey Yap said we should first activate all the good sectors (especially the Four Major Auspicious Stars). This would help to reduce the negative impact of the Five Yellow and Three Killing by at least 50 percent.

What are the Four Major Auspicious Stars? They are :
1. Dragon Virtue - SouthEast 3
2. Fortune Virtue - SouthWest 1
3. Sun - NorthWest 3
4. Moon - NorthEast 1

How to activate these good stars? The same way you activate the negative stars ie. renovation, moving the furniture around, digging the ground etc. Or you can simply place a water feature at these locations for 2 weeks. Even a pail of water is fine.

Below are the recommended date and time to activate these stars.

Note that the clash animal signs in brackets means if your Personal Bazi Chart has those animals, activating the stars will not have any effect on you. For example, if you want to activate Fortune Virtue star, but you have a Snake in your Bazi Chart, then activating on 8 of March will not be beneficial to you. Choose 17 March instead.

Below are the dates and time for activating different aspects of your life.

It is best to activate the sector and immediately followed that with activities related to wealth.

An example to make this work if you are looking for a boyfriend or girlfriend is to attend an event or party where you can get to mingle and meet lots of people. At 7.30pm on the given date, leave your house for the event/party. On reaching there, randomly talk to anyone and you may find someone who clicks with you or someone you meet may introduce you to another person.

What happens if the event/party is not located in the NorthEast from where you stay? In this case, stay overnight at a hotel or a friend's house that is located at the SouthWest of the event/party so that you will still end up traveling in the NorthEast direction to the event the next day.

HEALTH

Do not activate, but use this date and time to travel to the North to look for a doctor or even to ask anyone for help in finding someone who can cure your health problem.

According to Joey Yap, the top 5 animal signs for 2018 are

1. Ox

2. Snake

3. Goat

4. Horse

5. Pig

Now look at your Personal Bazi Chart (PBC). Do you have any of these animals?

If you are unfortunate enough not to have even one of them, then check your spouse's PBC. If he or she has these animal signs, you can 'borrow' from him or her.

What happens if your PBC have none of these top 5 animals, and also have no Fire, Wood and Metal (the top 3 elements for 2018)? This year would not be a good year for you. This is not the end of the world, it just means that you should not do anything 'big' this year. Lie low. The logic is if you do nothing, nothing bad can possibly happen to you.

If however, you have the top animal signs and you have the good elements in your PBC, then you should do more in 2018. Take risk, launch your business, work harder in 2018.

The problem is most people do the exact opposite - when they have all the good signs, they do nothing. So nothing good happens to them. Then when they have the bad signs, they do everything (eg. change job, get married, launch a new business etc. etc) so they end up suffering from all sorts of bad luck.

Regardless of whether you have a good or bad year, you can always use feng shui to improve your situation. There are two types of feng shui

1. Long term feng shui

2. Short term feng shui

Long term feng shui is for long term goals while short term feng shui is for short term goals, usually within one year. For buying property to stay or invest, and build a multi million dollar business, use long term feng shui. Whereas to increase income, find a boyfriend/girlfriend, or heal a sickness, use short term feng shui.

To change feng shui, there are 2 ways. Either
1. Change environment - eg. change room or
2. Stay in the same sector, but change activities. You don't always need to add elements.

For short term feng shui, we use the Flying Star Chart.
Below is the Flying Star Chart for 2018.

Superimpose the Flying Star Chart onto your house plan so that you know exactly which part of your house is in which sector. To do this, stand somewhere in the middle of your house and use a compass to identify the sectors.

The good sectors this year are South East, South, South West and North West.

The most important sector in 2018 is South East (Wealth Star 8). To make use of this Wealth Star, spend more time here doing business related activity.

Another good sector is South West (Star 6). If you have ideas to start your own business, spending time in this sector will help you make your ideas come true. Basically, it turns your ideas into reality.

North West is the Nobility sector. Spending time in this sector will help you to meet noble people. To get to where you want to go or to succeed in your business, you need the knowledge which you can acquire either from reading books or from being taught by someone who knows. If you are looking to learn from someone, then this Nobility star will help you attract that someone to you.

Joey Yap said it is not necessary to sleep in these sectors. You do not have to turn any of these rooms into your bedroom. Instead, spending more time doing your work in these sectors will be more effective.

Last year, South was not a good sector (with the Five Yellow there), but this year, the South with the Academic Star 4 is fantastic. Since almost anything you want in life is achievable as long as you know how, this sector is therefore very important to help you gain knowledge and know-how. It may be the most important star if you desire to change anything in your life. And especially so in 2018, as the unique combination of the 4 and 1 (star 4 and South) - activate most of the positive energies of Star 4.

The bad sectors for 2018 are North, North East, East and West.

The West is inflicted with Illness Star 2 and although it is not a good sector for health, it is however a good sector to be productive and achieve a lot of greatness in business due to the 2 - 7 combination of the Star 2 entering the West.

Argument Star 3 enters North East this year. Although staying in this sector causes more arguments, the combination of 3 - 8 (Star 3 and NorthEast) however helps you to break through and conquer your fears. If you feel stuck in your relationship or career, consider using this sector to help you break through.

Robbery Star 7 in the East does not seem like a good sector, as you stand the chance of being robbed or have your belongings stolen. However, the 3 - 7 combination of East and Star 7 is actually great for making money especially if your business involves talking and teaching.

That leaves us with the one and only really bad sector for 2018 - the North. This is where the dreaded 5 Yellow resides this year. But the bad news is, the North is also afflicted by the 3 Killings this year, so it's kind of a double whammy. More on this 5 Yellow affliction in Part 4.

However, the severity of the afflictions differ according to your Life Star number.

To know your Life Star number, simply download your Personal Bazi Chart from Joey Yap's website HERE.

This is an example of a Bazi Chart from the site. The Life Star number is circled in blue.

Once you know what your Life Star number is, look at the illustration below. I did not manage to take a photo of it during the seminar, so I had to draw this out. This is the 2018 Flying Star Chart with the respective flying star numbers in each of the nine sectors.

The small numbers outside the chart are the Life Star numbers. The red Life Star numbers are good while the black numbers are not.

For example, in the West, Illness Star 2 affects only people with Life Star number 1, 3, 4, 6 and 7 (black numbers). If your Life Star is number 2, 5, 8 or 9 (red numbers), you won't be affected much by this illness star even if you sleep or work in this sector. Technical Explanation : The combo 2- 7 (Star 2 and West) makes fire. Fire that is strong produces 2, 5, 8 (Earth) and strengthen the Star 9 (Fire).

In the North East where the Argument Star 3 resides, people with Life Star number 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, and 8 will have breakthrough but with arguments. People with Life Star number 3, 4 and 9 will have breakthrough only, no argument for them.

If you stay in the East where the Robbery Star 7 is, you will have a good chance of getting robbed if your Life Star number is 6, 7 or 9. However, if your Life Star number is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 8, you will actually make more money!

Although Wealth Star 8 resides in South East this year, don't expect too much if your Life Star number is 1, 3 or 4. On the other hand, if your Life Star number is 2, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9, you should make use of this sector to increase your wealth.

The worst sector which is North with the dreaded Five Yellow affects those with Life Star number 1, 2, 3, 4, 8 and 9 badly. However, if your Life Star number is 5, 6 or 7, you won't be affected too much by this Five Yellow.

Feng Shui 2018 According To Joey Yap (Part 2)

During the Feng Shui and Astrology Seminar 2018 in KL, Joey Yap shared some hints and tips on the art of face reading. This part of the seminar was quite funny and entertaining as his talk contained a lot of jokes.

In Part 1, it was mentioned that Fire is the most important element for Malaysia in 2018. You can also see if you have the fire element from your face.

First, touch the top of your head. Is it protruded or flat? If it's protruded, then you have the fire element. 2018 will be a good year for you.

Next, look at your eyes. If they are alert and sharp, then you are generally driven by vision and likely to be successful.

Eyes that are too close to each other means the person is mean. The closer the eyes, the meaner the person. If the distance of your eyes is same as the distance of your nostrils, then you have the fire energy in you and 2018 will be a good year for you.

The eyes should also be on the same level. If one eye is higher than the other, the person has fire related problems. It could be problem with technology, for example your phone or computer not working. Or problem with happiness, since fire represents passion. Or it could be health problem. Eye issues are usually related to the heart, so take care of the heart.

The bigger the eye, the more sentimental the person. People with small eyes are better at keeping secrets. For actors and performers, bigger eyes are better. People with smaller eyes are more suited to be in business.

Eyes that protrude or sink inside the eye sockets are not good. Sunken eyes (means eye socket too big) indicate fire element problem. People with sunken eyes usually suffer from family problems.

On the other hand, people with protruding eyes suffer from bad relationship, as they are always fighting and thinking they are right. Joey also mentioned that people whose eyes are close together and protruding are usually terrorists. Lol.

The second most important element for 2018 is Wood. For this, you need to look at your hair and eyebrow. See if your hair is thick or thin. The thicker and rougher the hair, the more temperamental and emotional the person.

The softer the hair, the more calm and gentle the person is. This year, people with naturally softer and thinner hair are more elegant.

People with thick eyebrows usually cannot save money. Also, the person usually suffer from academic problem ie. difficulty in learning and studying.

Lastly, the Metal element. For this, we look at the cheeks and ear lobes.

Generally, the bigger the ear, the longer the life span. Also people with big ears have better immune system.

If the ears are higher than the eye brows, the person likes to study, has high IQ and is very receptive. In 2018, people with ears higher than eye brows are better at learning new things.

If one ear is higher than the other, the person always doubt and does not believe in what he or she learns.

The higher the cheek bones, the more people you can command. This is why most leaders have high cheek bones as well as high foreheads. Most people however have low cheek bones.

Feng Shui 2018 According To Joey Yap (Part 1)

It's that time of the year again for feng shui updates!

I have to apologize for this rather late updates, but I was really busy, and still am. I will try to keep the post short and to the point with minimal words.

Last month, I attended Joey Yap's Feng Shui and Astrology 2018 at KL Convention Centre. As usual, it was full house.

This time, I will cut straight to the chase with the worldwide prediction for 2018 based on the Bazi Chart for 2018. Please note that I am simply reporting what I heard and learnt at the seminar. If you are at the seminar, you may want to correct me if I made any errors in my writing.

Also, to understand what is written here, you need to have at least some very basic knowledge of the 5 elements (Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, Wood) and what a Bazi Chart is. I won't go into details - you can easily google for 5 elements 101 and Bazi 101.

Below is the Bazi Chart for 2018.

Yin Fire (Day Master) born in the season of Wood (branch of Month Pillar) is considered very strong. However, this type of wood (Yang Wood) is hard to start the fire. Metal is needed to chop the wood, only then will the fire be bright.

Fire is considered strong (dominant) in this Chart.

There is Wu Earth (big rock or mountain) in the Chart. It's not easy for Wood to penetrate this big mountain. Looks like the wood has a lot of wealth but although it looks rich, actually it is not. So wood related industries will be headline news and popular. People will speculate in this industry but in the end, it is not really profitable.

Fire industries need to make money. They need to counter Metal but because Metal is hidden, Fire therefore becomes strong. At the end of the day, profit is even.

Precious Metal industries are hidden under the radar. Not much news on this industry as it's hidden, but there are actually lots of money here. Smart investors would therefore invest in the metal industries.

Water is one of the primary elements in 2018. There is no competition. Fire is the wealth of water element. So water industries like gaming, health and technology will be doing well in 2018.

In summary, the top three industries for 2018 will be
1. Wood
2. Fire
3. Earth

There will be political crisis in 2018. Yang Wood try to conquer Yang Earth pillar. Dog in the Chart represents fighting, armies and soldiers. There is lack of balance in the Chart.
Hidden yin metal means there will be security issues like terrorism.
Since Water represents freedom and there are lots of Earth countering the Water, freedom of the press will be suppressed in 2018.

Next, calamities for 2018.
War related conflicts is the major calamity in the Dog Year. Dog in the Chart generally means aggressiveness. Earth and Dog means there will be volatility. But will the war starts from North Korea? Joey said it's unlikely.

The Qi Men Chart for 2018 shows that North Korea has internal problem in 2018. As such, North Korea will be too busy handling its internal problem to fight with US. Also China and US will work together to suppress North Korea.

The 9 Star Fire enters the centre of the Chart this year. This means war will start from the Middle East. Yin Fire represents explosion and Metal hidden inside Dog represents bombs.

There will also be possibility of tsunami occurring in 2018. Since Fire is strong, things will heat up. Icebergs will melt causing water levels to rise resulting in flooding, excessive rain, heavy snow and tsunami.

Water represents movement but this movement is impeded by strong Earth. As such, there will most likely be transport issues in 2018.

As for illnesses, most common in 2018 will be joints and bones problems, prostate, gallbladder issues, indigestion, nerve problem and cardio related problems. This can be seen from the top four pillars of the Bazi Chart. However, Joey did not elaborate further.

Now we go to the 2018 Predictions for Malaysia.

First, we need to know how to come up with the Bazi Chart for Malaysia. Malaysia's date of birth (independence day) is 31 August, 1957. From this date, a Bazi Chart can be derived with the following details : Rooster year, Monkey month, Boar day and Horse hour.

Now superimpose the Malaysian Bazi Chart onto the Bazi Chart of the Year.

You will find that the elements from strongest to weakest are as follows
1. Fire
2. Wood
3. Metal
4. Earth
5. Water

The chart indicates that Property will not be good this year. It will be more of a buyers' market.
IT sector however looks good.

Now take a look at your own Personal Bazi Chart (PBC). If you do not have a PBC, you can plot it HERE. (you need to register first if you are a new user).

If you have Fire, 2018 will be a great year for you! If does not matter how the election turns out, whoever wins, you will still have a good year in 2018.

If no Fire, look for Wood in your PBC. If you have both Fire and Wood, you are extremely lucky!

If no Fire and Wood, look for Metal in your PBC. If you have Metal, then your 2018 will still be quite OK. Not fantastic, but OK.

My Lunch At Sri Suria Curry House

Right after my visit to KL Bird Park with my Filipino friend, I decided to bring him to Sri Suria Curry House for a late lunch.

Located along the same street with Sri Shakti Eswary Temple in Kelana Jaya, this Indian restaurant offers banana leaf rice which I thought would be something that my friend had never eaten before.

Personally, I really love banana leaf rice! We had white rice with the assortment of vegetable dishes all placed on the banana leaf.

I also ordered their nasi briyani which was really delicious!

I had lassi (an Indian yogurt drink) and my friend had rose syrup.

I also asked for rasam, a kind of sourish Indian soup that really opened up our appetite.

We also had some fried chicken.

And so this is how our spread looks like. Yummy! I am feeling hungry now just looking at this!

I have forgotten how much the total bill came to, but I remember it was not expensive.

Will I come here again? You bet!

Do you watch Korean dramas? Well, if you do, you would probably know this series called Descendants Of The Sun. It's very popular when it was first aired in 2016. But what I really like about this show is actually the songs. One of my favourite song from this show is Always sung by Yoon Mi-rae.

Below is a Youtube video of the song as originally sung by Yoon Mi-rae with some scenes from the show.

I thought this song would sound pretty nice on the piano, so I decided to try playing it. After a few attempts, I went ahead to record the full song and below is the result!

My playing is not perfect, and I don't think I can make it perfect anyway. But I hope you will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed playing it! :)

My Visit To KL Bird Park (Part 2)

Continued from Part 1

Having enjoyed the man-made waterfall in Zone 4 of KL Bird Park, my friend and I continued to walk towards the middle of the lake. Here, we saw many milky storks.

I have never seen these birds so up close before, so it was a great experience for me.

It appears that these milky storks are highly protected bird species in Malaysia.

We also saw many peacocks walking around freely. Took a shot of this man taking a photo of the woman, but of course all I actually wanted was to take a photo of the peacock. Lol.

We continued to walk and soon reached the Amphitheatre.

Bird shows are held here at the semi-open air Amphitheatre at 12.30pm and 3.30pm daily. Unfortunately, during my visit, the timing was all wrong and we did not get to see any bird performances.

Next, we reached the Flightless Birds area. Here, you can get to feed the some of the largest bird species on earth - the ostrich and the emu!

OK, I really do not know the difference between an ostrich and an emu. Are these ostriches or emus?

I think this is an ostrich. Ostrich has longer necks compared to an emu, right? Please correct me if I am wrong, lol.

Besides running faster than any humans, they can kill you with a forceful kick of their leg that is also armed with sharp talons at the toes!

Leaving the Flightless Bird area, we were back in Zone 3 at the Hornbill Park.

Not sure where we were at this point, but we saw a lot of milky storks here.

They were all over the place! So I guess we were back at Zone 1 where the free-flight birds are. Zone 1 and Zone 2 are the two areas in KL Bird Park where birds fly around and mingle freely with each other. No cages here!

The crowned pigeon walked past a mini cafe.

It appeared that all these wading birds - storks, egrets and ibises - are actually at the same pond with the flamingos! So this pond is actually known as the Flamingo Pond.

Look at the flamingos with their long legs! And yes, flamingos are wading birds too.

Answers : The first one is an ibis. The second one is an egret. And the third is of course, an ibis :)

We left the Flamingo Pond and walked towards a bridge.

The sign board pointed us to the direction of Zone 2.

As we walked along the path, we saw a peacock ahead of us.

I decided to follow the peacock.

Then I stumbled onto another peacock and it was opening up its feathers! This shot was from the back.

I quickly ran to the front and took a picture.

Hmm, the feathers looked kind of tired and old. I wanted to see a colourful and beautiful plummage like I see in photos. Not this!

Oh well, at least I got to see one peacock showing off his feathers though he did not properly maintained them. Lol.

After about 3 hours in KL Bird Park, we reached the exit. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day at the park. Honestly, I do not mind visiting again.

If you have never been to KL Bird Park, I recommend that you visit and spend at least 3 hours here! You will surely be entertained unless of course, you don't like birds.

My Visit To KL Bird Park (Part 1)

I visited Kuala Lumpur Bird Park one fine Sunday morning with a friend. Located near KL Lake Gardens, it is one of the world's largest covered bird park.

There was no parking space that day so I parked a little further away.

The park is located along Jalan Cenderawasih. I did not know the road was formerly known as Jalan Spooner or Spooner Road! Since this post is more about KL Bird Park, I shall leave you to google about the historical story behind this name, if you are interested.

Anyway, I drove a little further up. Passed this 'monkey crossing' sign. I think it's my first time seeing this sign. Lol.

So here was where I parked my car - at the Tun Abdul Razak Memorial. Plenty of parking spaces here and it was just a short 3-minute walking distance to KL Bird Park.

If you are a tourist planning to visit this park, you can get on the KL Hop-On-Hop-Off Double Decker Tour Bus which disembark at Station No. 15 right in front of KL Bird Park main entrance. The buses are available every 30 to 45 minutes interval so it's pretty convenient!

Many people queuing up to buy admission tickets. If I did not remember wrongly, I think the normal adult ticket price is RM67. For Malaysians with MyKad, it is only RM27 - a huge saving! I used my Aeon card and I was charged only RM22 - even better! Haha. (Make sure you present your Aeon card together with MyKad to get this special price!)

The Bird Park is divided into 4 zones. Zone 1 and Zone 2 make up the free-flight walk-in aviary where many species of birds fly freely and live together in an almost natural environment. The main entrance leads you into Zone 1.

We passed by what is known as the Love Aviary. This is a Lovebird, which is actually a parrot. And yes, it was upside down.

....until it started to open its beak and drink water! Now that looks ugly!! Lol

Some of the daily activities. Unfortunately, we missed out on all of them as we preferred to explore the park casually without worrying about the schedules.

We soon reached Hornbill Park located in Zone 3.

This is the Great Hornbill. At first I mistook this to be the Rhinoceros Hornbill - one of the largest hornbill species in the world. Unfortunately I did not manage to spot the Rhinoceros Hornbill that day. You will notice that Zone 3 is no longer a free-flight area, so the hornbills are in cages.

Next, we were in the fowls section.

This is Helmeted Guinea Fowl. The shape of this bird reminds me of a turkey.

And this is Vulturine Guinea Fowl.

Check out these Blue-cheeked Amazon parrots! Look closely and you can see they have blue cheeks! Felt a bit sorry that they were in cages.

I like this Palm Cockatoo! Too bad it did not speak when I was there.

This is African Grey Parrot. Not the same one as the out-of-focused parrot in the earlier photo, but it's the same specie. But it looks kind of dull after seeing those colourful parrots!

I noticed they like to hang upside down. OK, not really hang, but clawing on the fence with head facing downwards.

I don't know why but this African Grey Parrot looks kinda sad. Maybe it wanted to be free, not trapped in the cage. Or maybe it wanted attention and care.

The same parrot in a different pose. Did you know that the African Grey Parrot is the most intelligent of all parrots? Maybe because of its intelligence, it could easily get distressed.

Clever Ways To Save While On Holiday In Japan

With its colourful cultural tapestry and breathtaking natural wonders, Japan is definitely high on my list of must-see places this 2017 but as one of the most expensive countries in the world, the land of the rising sun can sometimes seem like a distant dream.

However with some clever tricks and a little bit of insider know-how, there are multiple ways to cut down on costs whilst still being able to experience the country and its many offerings to its fullest.

So today, let me share four ways to experience Japan on a shoestring budget!

1. Choose your mode of transportation wisely
Highway buses are a pretty affordable means of travelling within Japan. A trip from Osaka to Tokyo might set you back at about 3,500 Yen (RM139) and there are also buses that travel through the night, allowing you to have ample rest before you arrive at your destination. For those with limited time however, train travel is perhaps the best way to get around Japan and while a Japan Rail Pass can be pricey - 29,110 Yen (RM1,157) for a 7-day regular pass - you get the benefit of using it for an unlimited number of times and it'll cost you less than the accumulated cost of getting one-time use tickets. The good news is that there are websites such as Saleduck that suss out ongoing discounts and promotions on travel tickets, passes and more so make sure you do your research in advance. That being said, you can choose to bypass all of this and consider bike rentals as a much more affordable (and scenic) alternative to trains and buses. Not only will you save more on travelling expenses but you're more likely to get up close and personal with Japan's sights and sounds.

2. Look for accommodation in unexpected places
Accommodation can sometimes be the main reason expenses are high. The price of hostels in Tokyo averages in at about 2,500 Yen (RM99) per night so I suggest expanding your options into more peculiar territories that will be kinder to your wallet but will also make your travels much more memorable. If you're crashing in Tokyo, why not give one of its many Internet cafes a shot. Some of them come fully equipped with hot showers, vending machines dispensing drinks and steaming hot bowls of instant noodles, fully reclining seats and in some cases, capsule rooms that you can catch some ZZs in for the night. Alternatively, Couchsurfing is a great way to find free lodging whilst meeting new people.

3. Eat at fast food joints and convenience stores
Super satisfying and kind to the wallet, Japanese fast food joints are a cultural phenomenon in their own right and here is where you'll get access to mouth-watering bowls of soba donburi loaded with glistening egg and crispy pork cutlets and the list goes on. For sushi lovers, conveyor belt sushi such as Genki Sushi lets you indulge in fresh and authentic sushi for about 108 Yen (RM4) per plate. Also, don't overlook the convenience stores of Japan. Family Mart and 7-Eleven are beloved institutions that carry plenty of pre-packed hot meals, sandwiches and snacks that make for affordable pick-me-ups.

4. Take advantage of Japan's abundance of free attractions
From the sparkling buildings that tower over the streets of stylish Shibuya to the serene vibes of Ueno park, Japan is a walker's paradise with plenty of things to see and discover. In Tokyo specifically, Yoyogi park is beautiful during the Autumn and weekends are perfect for picnics spent lazing around and watching buskers jam. If fashion and pop culture is your calling, remember to make a pitstop at Harajuku to ogle at the wild and whimsical fashionistas.

Remember To Forget Me (Theme Song From Wu Xin : The Monster Killer)

Remember To Forget Me.

That's a rather strange title for a song, right?

It's the theme song for the popular Chinese horror fantasy drama "Wu Xin : The Monster Killer" (or Wu Xin Fa Shi 无心法师). Composed by Alfred Hui for HK TVB, this song had played in my mind so many times that I have lost count!

If you had watched the series, you would understand the title of this song. If you have not, it would be quite difficult to explain it. Well, it's not too late - you can still catch it online but make it fast, as I heard that the sequel to this 20-episode drama will be coming soon later this year.

This song is the Cantonese version specifically for HK TVB, not the original Chinese theme song. Watch the video below to listen to the song.

I am so looking forward to watch the sequel! I hope that it will be as good and enjoyable as the first one. So, before Wu Xin : The Monster Killer 2 makes its appearance, I guess I had better record my own piano version to this beautiful song.

My Visit To Putrajaya Botanical Garden

It was not my first time visiting the Putrajaya Botanical Garden. I recalled visiting it many, many years ago (probably more than 10 years ago) but could not remember much about it.

After the enjoyable Putrajaya Lake Cruise with my Filipino friend, it was already late afternoon. I decided to bring my friend to the Botanical Garden.

There were many tiles with different scientific name of plants near the car park outside the Botanical Garden.

We walked into the entrance building (Visitor Centre) and down a flight of steps. It was free entrance by the way.

An information board showing the landmarks around the Botanical Garden. Basically, the garden is divided into five areas - Explorer's Trail, Palm Hill, Sun Garden, Floral Gardens and Lakeside.

The canopy bridge was the starting point from the Visitor Centre. You can admire the rainforest trees on both sides as you walk along the bridge.

What plant is this? It's known as Terap Nasi in Malay. The scientific name is Artocarpus elasticus.

After we descended from the canopy bridge, we spotted some Heliconia plants.

Soon we reached the Palm Hill section. I could not find any photos of palm trees. Oh well, maybe I forgot to take photos of them. I guess this one below will do. Lol.

Near the palm trees is the Sun Garden. See that tall white structure? That's a sundial.

Nice scenery from here, no?

Then we came across these mounds. Not sure what they were or how they were formed. Anyone knows?

It was already close to dinner time, so we decided not to cover too much of the Botanical Garden. I think we skipped many of the floral gardens here.

Saw these hanging from the tree. Anyone knows what these are? The lack of information on the plants and trees were definitely not helping.

We reached the Lakeside Boardwalk.

Walked along the boardwalk and enjoying the lakeside scenery.

The place was not crowded at all, which I like of course. I guess it's a weekday evening.

Ahead we could see waterfall. Or should I call it weir or weir dam?

The sun was getting lower and lower in the horizon. We need to make our way to the exit.

But first, we enjoyed a little bit of the lakeside.

A nice spot to just sit down and meditate, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

As we made out way to the exit, we passed by the Fern Garden.

The canopy bridge which we walked earlier above us.

We spotted trams near the exit. I guess this tram service already closed for the day since it's already 6pm. There are other facilities here as well like bicycle rental and paddle boat rental.

Overall, I enjoyed my visit to the Putrajaya Botanical Garden. It's a nice garden but not great. I would say if you are in Putrajaya, do go for a visit. But if you are not, do not travel all the way to Putrajaya just to visit this botanical garden.

Tao Tai (Elimination)

Sometimes, you hear a song and you like it but you don't know who sing it. With apps like Shazam, this is no longer a problem. You can identify a song and its singer with a click of a button.

However, in my case, my phone ran out of battery and I could not use Shazam to identify this particular song. Although I have heard the Chinese song many times in the past, I could not remember where I heard it before. If you are wondering why I did not use Shazam when I heard the song in the past, that's simply because the app did not exist yet.

So what did I do? I played by ear a short extract of the song on piano, recorded it and put it on Instagram then asked if anyone knows what song and who the singer is. And that's how I came to know the name of this song. It's called Tao Tai (which means Elimination in English), originally sung by Eason Chan, a popular Hong Kong singer and composed by Jay Chou, a famous singer and songwriter from Taiwan.

A follower on Instagram then told me he had the score to this song and offered it to me. That helped a lot! But as usual, I never follow note-for-note from a score. I always prefer to improvise and make the song a little bit different.

Feng Shui 2017 According To Joey Yap (Part 4)

Some people say that if you believe in yourself and you are positive minded, you don't need feng shui. Well, is this true?

According to Joey Yap, it is true only IF you have the discipline and the burning desire to succeed. Most of us do not have both discipline and burning desire, so we need feng shui to help us out.

In this final instalment, I will share about Flying Stars Feng Shui. This is the Flying Star Chart for 2017, Year of the Fire Rooster.

How do you use this chart? First, stand in the middle of your house and using a compass, determine all the nine sectors in your house. You can also superimpose this chart onto your house floor plan.

The good sectors are the sectors with numbers 9, 8, 4 and 6. This means for the year 2017, the good sectors are South East, East, North East and North respectively. Note that the numbers "fly" to a different location or sector every year and for this reason, a good sector does not remain good forever. Similarly, a bad sector does not stay bad forever. As such, you need to update your feng shui every year.

So how do you benefit from the good sectors? According to Joey Yap, feng shui is akin to free wifi in the environment. To benefit, you have to be in the area where you have greater wifi signal. In other words, to tap the qi from the good sectors, you have to use those sectors more often. You can do your work or sleep in those areas or simply spend more time there.

Let's go into a bit more detail on each of the good sectors.

The number 9 in the South East represents investments and promotion. This is good for those who wish to leverage and compound their wealth.

But if you do not have wealth yet, it is more important to focus on academic (number 4, North East). You need to learn new skills and convert that to wealth. If you want to rise in rankings in your job, the only way is to learn new skills and therefore activating your academic luck is very important.

However, if you think it's office politics that is preventing you from climbing the corporate ladder, then activate North (number 6). This will give you more power and authority to fight petty people and to get things done. Spending more time in this sector also helps for people who are starting a business.

If you have cash-flow problem and money is tight, spend more time in the East (number 8).

According to Joey Yap, you do not need to place any objects or feng shui items to activate any of good sectors. All you need to do is spend time in the good sectors. However, if for some reason or other you are unable to do so, you can also activate using water placement.

The worst sector in 2017 is the South as the Five Yellow is here. The Five Yellow is the most dreaded affliction in feng shui. Joey Yap described it like this...

If you have a great personal Bazi chart, and you have all the good elements or stars in 2017, but you sleep or work in the South, then most of the good things you are supposed to enjoy in 2017 will be neutralized.

If you have a bad personal Bazi chart, and you have mostly bad elements (eg Monkey in all your four pillars) and you sleep in the South, then you are sure to have a very bad year.

How does the Five Yellow affects you? It depends on your Bazi chart. For example, if you are born in the month of Snake, and you sleep in the South, then your career will be affected. This is because the month pillar in the Bazi chart represents career.

Know that just because you have a Snake in your month pillar does not necessarily mean you will suffer a career problem in 2017. But if it is coupled with a bad environment, for example, you sleep in the South where the Five Yellow is, then you will suffer a setback in your career.

So if your bedroom is in the South, then just by looking at your Bazi, you will be able to predict what problems you will suffer from this year. Is it a career, health or relationship problem? Let's say you have Monkey in your chart, then you can be quite sure that your health will be affected this year.

How to mitigate this problem? Moving out of the bedroom is the best option. If not able to, then Joey Yap suggested that first, very importantly, do not renovate the South as this will aggravate the Five Yellow. Secondly, activate all the good sectors so that overall, you will have positives overcoming the negatives. Thirdly, place a heavy metal object to lessen the effects of the Five Yellow.

North West is where the Illness star (number 2) resides in 2017. If you sleep in the North West and you have the top 3 illness signs in your Bazi Chart (ie. Monkey, Ox and Rooster), then you really have to be prepared for major health problems this year.

West is where the Argument star (number 3) flies into this year. If you hate arguments, don't stay in this sector. But if you like new ideas and don't mind being challenged, then the West is probably a good place for you.

If your relationship with your spouse is already bad, and you both sleep in the West, then expect the relationship to get worse. If however your relationship with your other half is good, then you may experience some arguments this year.

The South West sector (number 7) is good for sales, branding, and addiction. If you want customers to be addicted to you or your brand, then this is a good sector to create that addiction. The downside is, you might also get addicted to drinking and smoking using this sector. So whether good or bad really depends on you.

Next, I would like to share about the 12 Animal Signs Assistants and Helpers in 2017.

What is this chart all about? This is about getting people to help you solve your problems. In Joey Yap's own words - "this chart will save your ass but involve sacrificing your friends".

How does it work? Let's say you have Snake in your month pillar. This means your career is having problem. Imagine this scenario. One day, your boss calls you into his office. You know you are in deep shit and may probably get fired. Before you see your boss, you check out the chart and you notice that the Snake has helpers in Ox, Dragon and Monkey. As you go in, you ask a friend who is an Ox or Dragon or Monkey to follow you. For some reason during the meeting with your boss, your friend gets all the blame. He is fired, but you are safe!

Another example. Let's say you have Monkey in your chart (this indicates relationship problem with your spouse). Checking the chart, you notice Monkey has helpers in Dog, Ox and Horse. You get a friend who is an Ox to help you talk to your spouse. Somehow your friend gets blamed. He no longer wants to be friends with you, but your relationship with your spouse is safe!

As you can see, this chart is very useful to save yourself but it also means sacrificing your friends. Would you do it? That is entirely up to you. I am just simply sharing what Joey Yap taught in his seminar. LOL.

These are the Feng Shui Afflictions for 2017, the year of the Fire Rooster.

3. Grand Duke (Tai Sui) - West 2

For all these three areas, strictly no renovation, digging, ground breaking or drilling. Keep these areas quiet. If you have a bedroom in one of these areas, try to relocate to another room if possible.

In case you accidentally triggered any of these afflictions, you can take preventive measures to lessen the negative effects by activating the following sectors at the dates given below.

Activate the following stars at the date and time given. Two dates are given each, so you may choose either one.

How To Activate?
You can do minor renovation and refurbishment. Or you can nail a picture on the wall, move the furniture around or plant a tree.

Alternatively, you can use water to activate. The water container should be large enough (2 feet deep), not covered, and should be removed after 2-3 weeks. The water must be still, non moving water.

And here are the dates to activate for wealth, health, relationships and more. The way to activate is the same as above.

WEALTH ACTIVATION

1. 12 January 2017, 1.30pm - South West (Clash : Snake)

2. 22 March 2017, 6.30am - South East (Clash : Tiger)

And lastly, for those who would like to know when is the best day to commence work after the Chinese New Year holidays, here are the list of good dates. However, Joey Yap mentioned these dates for commencement of work are not really that important, and would probably just contribute about 10 percent good luck.

Feng Shui 2017 According To Joey Yap (Part 2)

If you have read Part 1, you would have most likely downloaded your Personal Bazi Chart (PBC). If not, please download your PBC HERE before continue reading.

Now if you look at your PBC, you can see that there are four animal signs - one on each of the four pillars.

You will also notice that there is a fifth animal sign in the 10-Year Luck Pillar. (This 10-Year Luck Pillar is located right below the 4 Pillars of Destiny). The current 10-year pillar is also shaded for easy reference.

Refer to the diagram below. This is an example of a Bazi Chart downloaded from Joey Yap's site. I have circled all 5 animal signs in red.

In the above example, this person is born in the year of Ox, month of Rooster, day of Dog and hour of Goat. He is born in 1985, which means he is currently 32 years old and therefore he is residing in the Year Pillar between age 24 and 34. As you can see, the animal sign in that pillar is Horse.

Now look at your own PBC. Can you locate all your five animal signs?

As you already know, the Bazi Chart is divided into 4 pillars - the Year, the Month, the Day and the Hour.

The Year pillar represents your job, career, friends and social network.
The Month pillar represents your work performance and business opportunities.
The Day pillar represents relationships and your spouse. (If not married, the Day pillar represents you).
The Hour pillar represents your children, your ambitions, goals, dreams and also investment opportunities.

If the animal sign in your Year Pillar is favourable in 2017, this means you can move forward in your career. Or you can probably build lots of followers in Facebook for example, since the Year Pillar is also related to social network.

If the animal sign in your Month Pillar is favourable in 2017, this means you can go to next level in your job. It also means that it is a good year to start a business.

The same goes with the Day and Hour pillars - in short, you have to see which animal is in your chart and where they are located so that you can then relate to the different aspects of your life.

As for the animal sign in the 10-Year Luck Pillar, this represents whatever good or bad luck will come to you. Just be aware and accept them when they come.

Every year, different stars reside in each of the 12 animal signs. Some of the stars are good stars (auspicious) and others not so good (inauspicious).

Below is a shot I took during the seminar (Sorry not very clear). It features the 2017 Animal Sign Forecast.

All Chinese astrologers worldwide use this chart, which is also found in the Chinese Tong Shu.

All the good stars are in red, while the not so good stars are in black. From the chart, you can see that the Rooster has the most red, so we can generally conclude that the Rooster is the best animal sign for 2017.

If you have a Rooster in your PBC, rejoice! However, to know which aspect of your life it is related to, you need to see whether the Rooster is in your Year, Month, Day or Hour pillar.

The Monkey and the Snake have zero good stars unfortunately, but Joey Yap said this does not mean people with these two animal signs are guaranteed a bad year. No good stars means no external help, so you simply have to depend on yourself.

According to Joey Yap, the Top 5 Animal Signs for 2017 are the Dragon, the Horse, the Rooster, the Rat and the Tiger. Do you have any of these animals in your PBC? If you have all five, this is an excellent year for you!

However, according to Joey Yap, even if you have only one of two of these animal signs, you cannot complain that 2017 is a bad year for you as there are opportunities as long as you make the right choices, have a good strategy, or able to change your environment. He said that many people have good luck, it's just that they do not make use of it.

Now let's look at some of the stars in various categories and the animal signs they reside in for the year 2017.

Wealth Stars
Found in Tiger, Rat, Horse and Rooster.

1. National Treasure (Tiger) - This star represents an increase in status and salary. If you have this in your chart especially in the Month or Year, your opportunity to increase in ranking, in position and power is there. But you need to take action to make it happen.

2. Moon (Rat) - The moon represents the power or ability or business acumen to think about new business strategy. It also represents mastermind of money and money management. Good for budding entrepreneurs and start ups. Unfortunately, the Moon is not a very aggressive star - people with this star usually think a lot about making money but seldom take action. So make sure to take action if you have Rat in your chart!

3. Treasure (Horse) - In ancient days, the emperor rewards certain general or officer who did a good job for the year in the form of a 'treasure'. Therefore this Treasure star is suited for people who are working for commission, prize money, or sales based on commission.

4. Jade Hall (Rooster) - This star represents increase in assets, value, income and wealth. Also the ability to save money.

Hint : If you have these animal signs in your chart, make sure you take action. Otherwise, nothing will happen as wealth do not fall onto your lap!

Relationships
Found in Rat and Horse.

1. Sky Happiness (Rat) - This star represents relationships. If you are single, someone will appear. If you are married, your marriage will be happier. If the Rat appears in the Year pillar, you will be attending lots of weddings. If it appears in the Month pillar, and you are a professional homemaker, you will be contributing happiness to your home and marriage. If it appears in your Day pillar, you suddenly appear very attractive to others this year (lol). If it appears in your Hour pillar, you will receive lots of interesting investment opportunities.

Note that having a Rat in your Chart is especially good because you have the Moon and Sky Happiness stars, which means you will have both money and good relationships!

2. Red Matchmaker (Horse) - This star also represents auspicious relationship. If you have this star and you are single, you won't be single for long. Your likeability increase and you attract people in your life. Note that when you are likeable, it also means good for doing business.

3. Salty Pool (Horse) - This is not so auspicious as it attracts unwanted relationships. Short of saying you will become more horny (oops I said it!) you need to be careful and more aware of this star if you are married!

Status, Power and Recognition
Found in Dragon and Rooster

1. Emperor Star (Dragon) - Every year, this star only occupies one of the 12 animal signs. In 2017, it is in the Dragon. An Emperor is always right so with this star, it means you are always right! You will have the ability to raise funds, start a business, and get a license for your product.

If the Dragon is in your Year pillar, you can change the environment by changing job, career or business location. If it is in your Month pillar, you can take the next level up in your work and career. If the Dragon is in the Day pillar, you might have a strained marriage, because now your spouse is always right! (lol). If it is in the Hour pillar, all your ambitions and dreams will come true!

2. General Star (Rooster) - Represents power, status and authority. With this star, you are in charge! If you own a business, make sure you make all the important business decisions! If not in business, make sure you take a higher ranking in your career.

3. The Duke's Arrival (Rooster) - This year, the General star comes with the Duke's Arrival. With this star, you will get lots of attention and become popular. Of course, if you are not one who enjoy the limelight, this star will do you no good!

Helpful People
Found in Pig, Horse, Dragon and Dog

1. Heavenly Yi (Pig) - This star brings good mentor into your life. With this star, try to network more with people of higher ranking.

2. Fortune Virtue (Horse) - This is a prosperity star. You get to enjoy life, have lots of good food and basically gets fat! If the Horse is in your Day pillar, and you are single, it means you will get fat. If you are married, then your spouse is the one who will get fat. Lol.

3. Dragon Virtue (Dragon) - One of the best nobleman stars. You have the ability to resolve challenges and problems.

4. Sun (Dog) - The most powerful nobleman star. You become the helpful person to others. A lot of people will come to you to help solve their problems. Only good if you enjoy helping others! But remember, whoever you help this year, you might get their help in return in future, so it's worth helping.

If the Dog is in your Year pillar, a lot of friends will come to you for help. If it is in your Month pillar, you will be helping colleagues at work. If it's in your Day pillar, your spouse will be spending a lot of time helping others, so try to understand (lol). If it's in your Hour pillar, you help others become rich in investment opportunities. So if you are a Fund Manager and you have this star, this is definitely a good year for you!

Solving Problems
Found in Dragon and Ox

1. Dragon Virtue (Dragon) - This star is already mentioned above. Note that since this is a problem solving star, it means that you will have lots of problems in 2017 for you to solve. If you don't solve or you feel it's a hassle, you will suffer the consequences. So make sure you solve the problems especially since the Dragon also has the Emperor Star which means you have the ability to solve them!

2. Relief God (Ox) - This star is especially good for solving health problems. Use this opportunity to go for health check up and get the right treatment. This star is also good for getting rid of debt issues, and solving disputes and arguments.

Property Luck
Only found in Pig

Earth Relief (Pig) - Good for moving house, renovation and buying new property. With this star, it will be easier for you to look for a house. Note that if you do not have a Pig in your chart, and you want to buy new property or move house, get help from people who have Pig in their charts!

Fame
Found in Ox and Goat

1. Three Stages (Ox) - This represents increase in ranking one step at a time. Best for step by step career progression or climbing the corporate ladder.

2. Eight Seats (Goat) - This star helps you become famous or popular overnight. If the Goat is in the Year pillar, you might find that you suddenly have lots of friends on Facebook this year. If it is n your Hour pillar, your goals and dreams will receive lots of attention. A great star to have if you are into marketing and business.

Academic
Found in Ox and Rooster

1. Elegant Seal (Ox) - good for artists, and those in artistic and creative fields. The downside is you might be weird or eccentric.

2. Intelligent Star (Rooster) - If you have this star, make sure you study new skills, new subjects or acquire knowledge this year. It will be easier to learn new things which may prove beneficial to you in future.

Social Capital
The new trend of the young and rich is to get rich in their 20's. This method of getting rich depends a lot on networking and connections online, hence the name social capital.
Found in Snake, Pig and Dragon

1. Three Harmony (Snake) - This is a Snake and Rooster combination. Find people with good stars to help you.

2. Sky Horse (Pig) - good for out of country investments, exports and doing overseas business. With this star, you have the ability to market products overseas so you can either travel out of the country to do business or sell products to overseas customers online.

3. Grand Duke Combination (Dragon) - With this Dragon and Rooster combination, you are able to connect with the right people or people with power and authority.

Forgetfulness
Found in Monkey and Dog

1. Death God (Monkey) - This star represents forgetfulness and absent mindedness. This means if you have the Monkey in your chart, you tend to be very forgetful in 2017.

2. Sky Emptiness (Dog) - This star makes you talk a lot, but nothing happens. Or you have big ideas but they suddenly disappear. If you have this star, better not plan for the whole year (because your plans will likely not happen). Instead plan small every month.

Emotional
Found in Goat, Rooster and Ox

1. Lonesome (Goat) - Best described as lonely at the top. You might be rich and popular, but somehow you feel lonely.

2. Sky Cry (Rooster) - feeling very sentimental

3. Instability (Ox) - feeling very emotional

4. Five Ghost (Ox) - feeling suspicious of others, or feeling uncomfortable in an empty hotel room

Conflicts
Found in Rooster, Horse, and Dog

1. Triple Punishment (Rooster) - feeling down and not appreciated

2. Hidden Corpse (Rooster) - offending others by talking about sensitive issues

3. Curled Tongue (Horse) - like to debate or argue with people

4. Six Horns (Dog) - Offending other people. This usually happens when you are trying to help solve people's problems (since you have the Sun star) but ending up offending others.

Petty People
Found in Snake, Dog and Goat

1. Back Poking (Snake) - People talk bad about you behind your back

2. Yin Sha (Dog) - Offending females. If you are a guy, most likely your ex-girlfriend gives you problems, or you have extra marital issues, or your current relationship becomes hostile.
If you are a girl, your female friend backstabs you.

3. Leopard Tail (Goat) - Offending people, by accidentally stepping on their tail. Since you are popular (because of the Eight Seeds star), most likely you attract jealousy.

Spending Money
Found in Tiger and Rabbit

1. Lesser Consumer (Tiger) - Spend a lot on luxury items, vacations etc. Since Tigers have National Treasure star, they make lots of money but end up spending most of the money this way. A good remedy is to buy more assets. So even if you are destined to spend lots of money in 2017, at least you will be spending money on something that can increase in value.

On a side note, if you are a salesperson looking to increase your sales, why not search for potential customers with Tiger in their Bazi chart? :)

2. Greater Consumer (Rabbit) - Every year, the animal sign that clashes with the Tai Sui (Grand Duke) has this star. In 2017, it's the Rabbit who will have this unfortunate star. It indicates big expenditure and changes in financial standing. Those with Rabbit in their chart will find that somehow there will be circumstances that will force them to lose money.

Note that because Rabbit clashes with the Grand Duke this year, it indicates major changes. If the Rabbit is in your Year pillar, you will have a change of friends or work environment. If it's in your Month pillar, you will experience a change in job, structure of the company where you work at, or even a change of boss. If the Rabbit is in your Day pillar, this indicates a change in relationship. It could be a good thing if you are single as you will be tying the knot. If you are married however, it could mean you or your spouse traveling far and apart from each other, or may even indicate a divorce. If the Rabbit is in your Hour pillar, this indicates a change in your investment, usually means losing your investment.

Arguments and Disputes
Found in Monkey and Rabbit

1. Heavenly Officer Charm (Monkey) - indicated arguing with people and challenges in judicial and legal issues.

2. Prison Inmates (Rabbit) - This is related to fines and traffic tickets

Health
Found in Monkey, Ox and Rooster

1. Sickness Charm (Monkey) - Health issues especially intestinal

2. Blood Knife (Ox) - indicates blockages, cysts, or small injuries. May need to be removed via surgery.

3. Sword Edge (Rooster) - minor cuts, small bleeding.
