Mike over at the Hostility Blog thinks that the local power company(Nevada Energy) has raised the frequency of the power coming in to our homes from 60hz to 90hz, so the meters will run faster and they can charge more for the same amount of power. –He thinks he’s being charged for 3k every time he uses 1k.

According to a mutual friend, Mike is a systems administrator and programmer for a local finance company. He does his job well. Keeping the network up and making whatever changes are needed to the program. Proving that he’s not stupid.

Why then does he believe what anyone can disprove with an O-scope you ask?

Because, through the use of his superior intellect and phenomenal reasoning capabilities, he has managed to prove, using logic well beyond the ability of the common man to understand, that his power bill on his poorly insulated mobile home is “too high.” Therefore the power company, the source of all evil, has implemented a nefarious scheme to overload our circuits, burn out our motors and make our meters spin faster in order to collect three times as much money as they are entitled to. –It couldn’t be a rate increase or crappy insulation making his bill higher and it couldn’t possibly be happening to him alone, so it must be some kind of a conspiracy.

The human race: Providing endless entertainment to logical people everywhere, since the beginning of time.

What’s left to say? Madness is right, about both the human race and my old friend Mikey. –They’re both batshit crazy…. But funny as hell.

Well, it sure ain’t Paree (exibit “a”) and it sure ain’t Vegas. Welcome to Munich – famed for buxom beer girls but colder than a witches tit on Thursday at this time of year.

So what do the boys do around here for fun. Please see exhibit “b”. Does that look like hell or not? It is hell, trust me. For all the ballyhoo about Munich and Octoberfest and all that PR rot, this joint is a certified noodle maker most days of the week for most guys. Look at these loosers – transfixed by their insipid video pokers and whining like little babies when they only win 200 Euro. Whaa-Whaa. Sorry SOBS. Somebody should put a sign at the door that claims they admit being losers when they walk into the joint and not to complain about payouts later. Babies. And this goes on in every suburban bar in Munich every night.

Oh, sure, you can look at the travel brochures with the heftily breasted blond comely waitresses and at that point you are totally hooked, A dumb tourist actually believing in the smut that they sold you over the Internet. You deserve to be ripped off!

But I’m here to give it to you real boys – like da man on the street sort-a-real and I’ve got news for ya – der ain’t no hottie frauleins in most Munich bars. What there are is a bunch of wankers like you see here. And that poor man-wench paid for his wine! Wine. Sheise. The men here drink wine. Whatever. I’m gonna throw up. And it goes on. In most friggin’ bars I see. Bunch of dudes, including me, drinking their way to a future that is much more Dumber and Dumber than it is having any shot at the girls pictured here.

Any issues? Think the unemployment situation is bad in the US at 10%? It’s 8.7% in Germany. And 18% percent in Spain, where all the real hotties are. And so that’s why you see these dudes, plucking in their 1 Euro coins (1 Euro=$1.40 US) into those machines with no hope for a shag on the weekend. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. It’s cold here in Bavaria. Doncha just wish you could warm one of those girls up in exibit “c” for like…about 10 seconds?

With this unit in place you become the controller. Like a Wii, but without a physical device in your hand.

The up side of this technology is that you won’t have to worry about losing or breaking your controller or having flat batteries.

The down side is that if you don’t remember to keep your drapes closed, the neighbors will see you playing air-handball or air-racing and probably start avoiding that “crazy” next door.
