These kinds of relationships are essential to your business. Taking the time to show a little gratitude for everyone’s contribution and they’re likely to stick around for years to come. Business gifts can be big or small, given to an individual or a group. Whatever you decide, a little thoughtfulness will insure that your gifts will be not only well received, but well remembered. Here’s a few corporate gift ideas:

Gift baskets are great, classic business gifts. They never go out of style. This is a good idea whether you know what they like or don’t. It could be for a singular person or a whole team. There are the traditional fruit, coffee and tea available. Of course gift baskets can be highly personalized too.

Charity contribution to their favorite charity in their name. This is a surefire way to give a thoughtful gift that keeps on giving. Charity contributions show awareness compassion and a willingness to take responsibility for what’s going on around you .

Eco-friendly gifts are becoming increasingly popular. They’re not just a fad anymore. They are responsible gifts. Giving a green gift doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, just about anything one can think to give, can be done in this fashion. There are organic gift baskets, electronic gift cards, and bamboo golf shirts. Even the good old fashioned thank you card comes in many environmentally friendly options.

Gift cards are another great corporate gift idea. Ask any employee and they’ll tell you that something as simple as a gift card to Wal-Mart, Target or the local grocery store is a wonderful idea. It may seem impersonal but it’s one way to guarantee your staff gets exactly what they want or need. If you have a corporate account, you may be able to receive a discount for buying in bulk.

If you would still rather buy a gift, many popular retailers offer corporate gifts as well. Special selections may be available as opposed to gifting from that retailers regular selection. Again, you can receive the corporate discount and insure that the recipient will appreciate the uniqueness.

Last but not least, there’s the option of gifting cash. Many consider this to be the easiest corporate gift idea of all. Most employees will tell you it’s the best, and look forward to a bonus at year-end. Cash can also be given in the form of a gift card. MasterCard, American Express and Visa as well as some national banks offer these as an alternative to cash.

Whether the recipient is a client or an employee, they are essential to your success. No matter how big or small their role is to your bottom line, their contribution needs to be recognized. You can either respect what they bring to the table now or risk losing them to your competition just when you need them most.

Can You Recognize the Symptoms of Gluten Intolerance

Gluten intolerance, otherwise known as Celiac Disease, is an auto-immune disease. This is where you body treats what should be a harmless substance, as a dangerous threat. In this case, that substance would be gluten. This reaction causes damage to the small intestine. This in turn, causes your body to lose the ability to absorb nutrients.

What exactly are the symptoms of gluten intolerance?

The most obvious and tell-tale signs are:

Bloating
Diarrhea that comes and goes
Abdominal pain

Most often the signs are less obvious like:

Anemia
Weight loss
Muscle cramps
Depression
Fractures
Foul smelling stool
Tingling and numbness
Skin rash
Fatigue
Joint Pain
Poor growth (in children)

Symptoms of gluten intolerance can range from mild to severe to non-existent. In fact, when it comes to recognizing Celiac Disease, there are no typical signs. Much of the above can easily be attributed to other conditions. Gluten intolerance itself has also been known to cause or contribute to several conditions such as:

Osteoporosis
Kidney Stones
Lactose intolerance
Lymphoma
Miscarriage or birth defects
Seizures
Malnutrition
Infections

Gluten Intolerance seems to occur more frequently in people with other auto immune issues like:

Type 1 diabetes
Thyroid disease
Liver disease
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Rheumatoid Arthritis
Lupus

The only way to know for sure if what your experiencing is gluten related, is to get tested. Currently, there are two tests available. First, is the antibody test. This is a blood test in which the doctor looks for both the presence and level of certain antibodies. High levels indicate that the body perceives itself to be under attack. What this test won’t tell you is what your body is trying to fight off. Then, there’s a biopsy. In this procedure, samples of the small intestine can be examined for signs of gluten intolerance. This would be the most accurate option. Biopsies are critical in cases where you have symptoms that can be attributed to other conditions. They are even more important if you are someone who suspects an intolerance yet hasn’t any serious issues like those stated above. Again, The only way to know for sure is to get tested.

Rheumatiod Arthritis Symptoms
Rheumatoid arthritis symptoms can vary from person to person. Some people may experience symptoms regularly, while others go for long stretches without any problems. There are however, hallmark characteristics that indicate rheumatoid arthritis as a possibility for a patient:

The first and most common rheumatoid arthritis symptom is morning stiffness. Many people young and old experience this from time to time and on it's own, doesn't signify a problem. However, if a person finds themselves waking up that way every day regardless of activity level and the stiffness lasts an hour or more, it may be time to see a doctor.

Next, is joint pain that is can't be contributed to any particular event and therefore unexplainable. This pain is caused by inflammation. Fluid may also accumulate within the joints causing them to be swollen. At times, the skin immediately surrounding the joint may be pink or red and feel warm to the touch.

Another hallmark symptom of RA is its tendency to affect certain joints. The hands and wrists almost always develop symptoms. Of course, Rheumatoid arthritis can occur in any joint. Knees, feet, elbows as well as shoulders and jaws are commonly affected areas, too.

RA symptoms also includes more generalized symptoms, such as fatigue, weight loss and even a low grade fever. Many people complain about experiencing these types of cold or flu-like symptoms in addition to those mentioned above.

Oftentimes, there is difficulty sleeping. Some people can even develop depression. Those with moderate to advanced rheumatoid arthritis tend to have symptoms in several areas of the body.

A small number of people with rheumatoid arthritis develop rheumatoid nodules. This occurs when small blood vessels become inflamed and pea-sized lumps form under the skin. Nodules are usually found around the elbows. Sometimes they can become sore or infected.

Inflammation from RA can be also be found in the lungs and around the heart. Shortness of breath is possible, but usually, there are no symptoms. Clogged arteries are likely and people should be monitored so as not to develop complications.

Rheumatoid arthritis symptoms individually can seem nondescript. If they develop slowly over time, the symptoms may be thought of as a normal part of aging. However, if they last for six weeks or more, it's time to see a physician.

Chlorine Allergy - Do you have one?

Most of us are exposed to chlorine on a daily basis. It is a popular disinfectant and is also used in the making of paper products, plastics, pesticides and PVC. A few common uses for chlorine are:

Tap Water- disinfectant

Chlorine Bleach and other household detergents and cleaners - Whitens whites, disinfects clothes and surfaces

Swimming pools - disinfects, sanitizes, keeps water from getting cloudy and helps to prevent algae from forming on the surface

Sucralose - Chlorinated sugar (most popularly sold as Splenda)

With so much exposure to chlorine, some people are bound to have an adverse reaction. Chlorine allergy symptoms include:

Eye irritation - red, watery, itchy

Severely dry and/or itchy skin

Red, itchy rash

Headache

Nausea

Difficulty breathing, tightness in chest, and other symptoms similar to having asthma

The best way to avoid these symptoms is to avoid chlorine. Sometimes that's not possible, but you can, at least, minimize your exposure.

Use water filters for sinks and showers.

Non-chlorine bleach, oxygenated cleaners, and even natural home remedies like vinegar can be used to whiten and disinfect clothes.

Shower before you enter a pool to rinse off anything that might react with the chlorine. Wear a swim cap and goggles. Immediately after leaving the pool, rinse yourself off thoroughly using cool water. When you get home, bathe with a moisturizing soap and water. If chlorine was in your hair, cleanse with swimmer's shampoo. Apply lotion.

Despite some of your best efforts you may still find yourself suffering from of the symptoms above. See a doctor, or more specifically, an allergist about a possible chlorine allergy. Even if it turns out to be a chlorine sensitivity instead, you'll still need something for your skin. Depending on the severity of your symptoms, they may recommend over-the-counter allergy relief products or prescriptions. Here's a list of some allergy relief products that have worked for other people:

Benadryl

Calamine Lotion

Hydrocortizone cream

Eucerin - Original creme

Oatmeal baths - store bought or homemade

A Few Facts about Laser Hair Removal

One of the most popular cosmetic procedures sought after by both men and women is hair removal. There are several hair removal treatments available, such as laser hair removal, waxing and shaving. In fact, laser hair removal has become so popular in the last couple of decades, that there are salons and clinics solely dedicated to this purpose. Claims are being made that it is painless and permanent. However, laser hair removal is not all that it's cracked up to be.

Laser hair removal uses a beam of light to heat and destroy the hair follicle. Sounds simple, right? On the contrary, there is a lot more that needs to be discussed before you choose this particular method. Number one consideration is whether or not you would make a good candidate. If you have dark hair and light skin, you're perfect. Darker skin tones, and people with light colored hair will have less success. As with all procedures, there are possible side effects. Changes in skin color have been known to happen, especially for those with darker skin tones. This is usually temporary, but has been known to last several months or even become permanent. Other side effects include scarring, crusting and scabbing.

The best way to avoid or at least minimize side effects is to pick the most qualified professional to perform the procedure. Laser hair removal should be performed in a doctor's office by a board certified professional, such as a dermatologist. Many times, it's the physician assistant or nurse who does the actual treatment. Unfortunately, those with non-medical backgrounds have been also been allowed to do the same. Improperly trained staff performing this procedure can lead to disastrous results. It is also very important to avoid sun exposure for several weeks both before and after the sessions. The procedure works best when clients are at their lightest.

Then, there's the question of what type of laser system or equipment they'll be using for your treatment. Yes, there is a huge difference. There are several laser systems used for hair removal. The Alexandrite and Ruby systems work best on white skin. They are more likely to cause changes in skin color and are not advised for darker skin tones. Nd: Yag systems work on all skin tones but the hair will grow back completely in about six months. They are also the most painful. The Diode lasers are good for light to medium skin tones and are less likely to cause skin pigmentation issues than the Ruby, Alexandrite and Nd: Yag systems. Many hair loss clinics may gloss over these details during the consultation. So either you know or you don't. There are of course, at home systems. However, as stated earlier, only a board certified physician should perform laser hair removal.

The cost of a laser hair removal session can vary widely depending on several factors: size and difficulty of area, whether the treatment is performed in a doctor's office or a spa and even which billing methods are being used. Spas and clinics will often advertise special packages but rarely advertise actual prices. Compared to other hair removal methods, laser treatments can seem expensive. Each session can range between $100 and $900. You'll need at least five or six of these for good results.

Finally and most importantly, laser hair removal is not permanent. Successful treatments can leave you hair free for several months to several years. However, that is the best case scenario which is most likely achieved only after more rounds of treatment.
Laser hair removal is a long term commitment that requires time, research and a considerable financial investment. Choose wisely.
