I hardly find inquisitive people around who can actually strive to get the fact. All prepare half cooked food to serve oneself.

As an engineer I have more crave for something technical. I am poor in finance terms and even more poor in Indian politics. But given a chance I never failed to express a critics about government bad policies, financial decision or even some initiatives. I forget in a flash that It’s not politician who are mere a face that delivered an IAS effort & research over the media. I can’t outsmart an IAS over a national policy. Most of the time I show my Cook-ish behaviour with my half cooked Idea.

I remember one guy from my engineering batch who was so inquisitive about everything that he kept updated himself all the time. All the cooks around this Master chef criticized him for being jack of all trade. The fact is that how hard is to earn knowledge about anything. You can’t be all the time with Google grid. Only now I can appreciate his power of knowledge to cope up with every situation. He can never be out of idea, even though he is seating with think-tanks.

“ to many cooks, spoil the broth” is right but too many broth give expertise to cook. I am an engineer by education, to be very precise, an electrical & electronics one. Can I speak 2 minutes on electric bulb? Yes, May be.. for sure it will contained my half cooked idea as well if I manage to do so. How far I am going from the knowledge and filling fast foods through the newspaper and online media into my mind-belly.

How do I spoil myself with time. I never access the depth of subject before jumping-in. Probably half cooked delicacies satisfy everyone around. A verbal communication is good to be half-cooked but beware before penning down. May be your audience is not subject matter expert but some are there, who can Google your dish and can smell fish.

Either I need to gain knowledge or shut my mouth before I speaking up. It is a high time learn the idea of the author or the presenter. No hasty spit over the presentation. Never judge a serving before the finger bowl arrive at your table.

Poverty : A reason for Entrepreneurship

Currently I am going through Chapter IV of Indian Economic Development, Textbook of Economics for Class XI of CBSE Board. It is touched me so deep that I get a simple reason for Entrepreneurship. This is the best chapter I have read in my life which introduces me to a fact that my state has more than 1/2 population don’t even food to eat for a day. Yes It’s Bihar. It’s a fact, give a thought.

Currently, I am concerned of supporting my nouveau rich lifestyle while saving some money for provident.

But the chapter compel my half cooked thought of entrepreneurship into a delicacy. I love to enjoy the challenge of cooking entrepreneurship at my home town. By the way I am good part time chef…

The chapter introduced me to poverty. By definition “Poverty is Hunger. Poverty is being sick and not being able to see a doctor. Poverty is not being able to go to school and not knowing how to read. Poverty is not having a job. Poverty is fear for future, having food once in a day. Poverty is losing a child to illness, brought about by unclear water. Poverty is powerlessness… and so on.” It soaked me deep thought with lot of emotion and a stronger will for entrepreneurship. I must recommend, please go through the chapter. There is a story of two girls as well.

There is lot of hard fact of Indian poverty visible all around me, but I have closed your conscience with open eyes. The traffic signal, sub-urban areas, temporary labourers, outside bus station and railway platforms & many more. I am used to urban poverty but what about poor famers who can’t pay the debts and suicide? What about the hunger gripped faces who lived in shattered huts. How live on mercy and die in pity. Do I ever imagine to share my knowledge to make their life better? I wish to be in cat race to catch some mouse to feed the poor rather than doing dog fight all life and live in a 2BHK at Bangalore.

Today I got a simple reason why I want to be an entrepreneur. i.e. POVERTY…..

Factor a Fact

Problem: I carp all the time for a better world!! How do I forget the nature and keep carrying the ostrich behavior. I feel I become a part of brick in the wall or a machine running along a computer in an air conditioned room.

A thought: Have I done something good for mother earth? did I have planted a tree in past 5 years or may be whole life? Do I wear a cloth with less dyes and low artificial contents? Throwing cola bottles on roadside, carrying a metal contained plastics, burning fuels on two/four wheelers and decry on poor environment.

The Fact:
1. Love to live in a concrete building
2. Keep running on fuels, either on bus, train or aeroplane
3. Throwing / burning fuels every morning to heat up my morning bath.
4. Keep mixing chemicals in ground water through shampoo, tooth paste, soap ... non-ending list
5. Keep running my gizmo on electricity.

My Dream:
1. Stay near(est) to your office. Walk not drive.
2. Have a "chotu" lawn to utilize waste water
3. Shutdown PC when leave office. ( Computers need some rest as well).
4. Relay on natural lights. go for green buildings.
5. Go for a green vacation. i.e. your village
6. Eat at your home... save fuels and your stomach
7. Avoid Social networking sites, it waste lots of electricity..
8. and many more....

It may have some humourous stuffs, but a lot more serious to think.

Factor a Fact....

Holly-Bolly is priming

Slumdog Millionaire(SM), rags-to-riches movie based on an Indian Author Novel Q&A is the 81th Academy winner movie directed by a British Director. Those who have not seen the movie before oscar are victim to go through all the hype and have to carry the burden of awards before watching the movie. It is a 360 Indian movie with lots of emotion, love and masala with A R Rehman music. Songs of SM are better than Lagaan!! No way!!! But Jai ho..

Now...

I must say, Indian directors are now haunted by own dreams of not being British..

But ...

The poseur Bollywood should know the class of moving making rather than going for all time love-hate mochas and gay cocktails. Taking bath in a shit pit is more better than a streamy dancing scene and shaky relationship stories.

The Dream...

"I'd be lying if I haven't made a version of this speech before I was 8 years old and staring into the bathroom mirror. And this would have been a shampoo bottle." This was the opening line of Kate Winslet while accepting the Oscar.

Achievers ...

The two children, Rubina Ali(co-incidentally 8 years old) and Azharuddin Ismail from the slums of mumbai would have never imagine what oscar look like. The producer of the movie, Fox Searchlight Pictures financed them to walk the oscar red carpet at Kodak Theater. It's totally a slumdog millionaire making in all respect. Rubina and Azhar have a study insurance of about 25 lacs and now Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority step in to provide a flat to them. Slumdog millionaire is a slum god affaire for them. Thanks and cheers to the actor selector.

That's it...

Probably no movie of this world has changed so much in a poor's life.

The Fact...

Bollywood is one of the largest employment providers in private sector.

Conclusion ...

We have ample actors and talent to act in Oscar movies in coming future, because Holly-Bolly is priming.

Awards are Just Rewards Here, Period.

Yes, All team members are recipient of some kind of awards. Either it's value is not much or all are exceptional performer. Second option is rare in this real world. Some are silent performer, some are 24/7 worker, some are exceptional and a few deliver their job on a very tight timeline. Bravo!!!! Claps!!

I could not understand the strategy of manager to reward an award. I am not jealous about anything here, but just going through the reason why people were awarded today. None were justifiable, in my view. People were not rightly encouraged, not appreciated and faced many times inhuman situations. Is business that much important? for whom we are doing business, for a system or for humans? Is deadlines are so important that people need to work like donkeys. How decide these timelines? Human or machines?

I believe in one man army and I think team is a liability on each other. If everyone do his / her job honestly result will come in-large. Team is required to play a game where ball is keep changing hands in short intervals. Is IT needs so frequent hand change? Probably no. All work on modulated work pack and that combine to a beautiful result. I hate garbage in a team, who keep dumping own responsibilities on others. There should be some garbage collectors.

Back to my team, Top agenda : Divide and rule, "अंग्रेज चले गये, इनको छोड़ गये". How good are they at this?? If not, then you probably never met an arrogant self declared genius.

Do you ask or introspect yourself what you can and what you can not? I keep asking myself, for betterment, learning and enlightenment. My current organisation managers don't want any sort of question on their management capability or process?

A few flashy punches from career page of my company site

"dynamic and rewarding environment which enables you to fulfil your potential"

I am at same job position for last two years. So Freedom was not free to me.

Management EGO vs The Truth

"हर टीम में बस एक ही गुंडा हो सकता है, और इस टीम का गुंडा में हूँ

", SRK's dialogue from Chak de India resonated into my mind, when I confronted with the architect of my team. Mr. Architect was in mood of supporting the developers, as they were unable to find the reason of weird behavior of a piece of code. This was the person who avow that developer is estimating more time than the required time for a project!!. Why every things go to 11th hour my dear team? is someone to answer me? Poor Management, Poor Infrastructure, Poor design, Poor requirement gathering, Poor support? Yes, It was communicated multiple time,"It's Business, who drive a change"? It's upon you to believe. Something happen by chance once, but if it turn to be frequent. Time to back to Basic. Better sooner than never.

Let come back to the incident, The situation was not bad and one of manager was trying to push it's delivery tonight, even though they were unable to do a UAT in pre-prod servers. Blame game started from one of developer who has having more than four years of experience and then after other junta joined the fraternity. I was suppose to help them to resolve the issue. But a hefty burden and a feel of agony generate around could not help me to stop my outburst. I spoke " I hate to listen that there is some issue in environments without a proper investigation". To add fuel to the fire Mr. Architect jumped on his toe and challenge me to resolve the issue. I was no mood to take the challenge, as I thought to leave home on time today. Last two days I was debugging codes till morning hours, to fix some bug, before business dial my big boss in mid night and forced a support guy to lose his sleep for the night. No one say a word of Thanks even for the same!!! This is my management!!

How people are keep blaming without proper investigation? Probably they are programmed in a such a fashion? How they are poor in analyzing any issue? Yes, science proved girls are poor in analytics and logic, but trust me they were simply exceptional today!! Once I had asked the acme of our team mangers, ( yes I have written managers), what's important for you, a quality job or a deadline with a bunch of craps. He did not even bother to understand the depth of the question, replied "DEAD-LINE". It was a coup de grâce of a process oriented mind set and an adieu to nice working culture.

एक महल, मिट्टी के गारे पर ऩही बनता!! How can you get a better result from a code which is not delivery at par in test. Will it stand the harshness and load of production. I, as a perfectionist wish to make something better every time when I become defensive to sarcastic.

Three Masters and a Mandate

I am working for a telecom company for past one a half year. Each day it's a new office with some new challenges. I am getting habitual of change, not only at work but at professional attitude as well. My office have all kind of people, some serious masters to procrastinating peers and at one end scrimmaging I.

As telecom plan changes rapidly, our organization changes in same pace to keep alive the telecom spirit. My first manager Mr. IH is a big shot today, as he was considered to be two years back. Every six months he is elevated to some post by my company to retain this talented Master. This master commands me when ever he need to prove, I am still there over your head to bug you. I am the king, all are my Integrated Kingdom.

My favorite master , Mr. XH who encourage me on each decision at my office. He never proves he is the senior, but he can bug you and push you hard to get things done. Very cool, soft spoken and yes very very manager!! He has given me recommendations, on life for college entry and some time work-life balance. He inspires me what a manager could be?

Here come my third master, Mr. BT who thinks I am a dumb, you can't do things, only doing show off that I am working LATE!!!. By the way he is at helm of resource monitoring and solutions designer by post. He issues order and deadlines, excuses are forbidden here. He needs to meet his deadline, as he is very hard working by nature, good at behavior but very very professional at work.

The mandate, Issue a report on improvements as my boss has to claim a chunk from company roadmap funds for year 2KX. The report was not a tough one by the problem is to get time to prepare a document with bullets, index and references consume lots of time. As I am a to-be perfectionist, so I put lot of effort to prepare a technical sheet. It takes around 8 hours of hard word, distributed over a week. I was not happy the way it was asked me to complete it. Even no word of gratitude or thanks come from big boss. It was just a mandate that I need to complete.

India, above avearge in all fields

"People think infrastructure is our biggest problem. It's not. It is the education. The quality of students isn't that great". These are the words of a Top-Tier IT Industry CFO. It's how pathetic to blame the current generation education and it's education system that is driving the Indian service sector, not to mention that services are generating more revenue to GDP than other sector. The biggest asset presently Indian have, in this world aging population is its' Young population and its education system. Let defend Mr. Big Boss words with following points: 1. Let check the company contribution towards Indian varsities / college or any educational Institutes. Biggest contribution of this company for Indian education system is not to mention, just find the result of google 78500 results in 0.36 seconds as compared to search result of world infosys technologies 266,000 results in 0.20 seconds. http://www.google.co.in/search?hl=en&safe=off&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&hs=QyB&q=Infosys+in+Indian+education+system&btnG=Search&meta=cr%3DcountryIN 2. There are 6125 graduate colleges in India that feeding the Intellect hunger of over 1 lac requirement of IT companies. How many college this company visits every year? 3. The kind of job profile provided by this Company to a graduate they are hiring, does require high skill or a BOMB from Harvard? 4. Can this company effort a fresher from Harvard? Are they able to pay over $1 lac/annum?
5. The cost of education is very cheap as compared to western or American universities. Why they only talk, why they not jump the education wagon and start funding some colleges? Like Intel, NVIDIA, Microsoft etal funding research and technology in different colleges.
6. They are beating the drums about the expenditure they spend on each fresh graduate, What about the wasting the talent in useless projects and meaningless bread winner support teams in time of recession?
7. Can they talk about the flow of knowledge between IT industry and Engineering colleges? How many times you get a research sponsored by IT in India? Perhaps a couple of them to mention?

I personally feel there is no problem in quality of students, it problem in fitting every brick in straight wall of IT. IT, specially this company is not only the best pay masters that should hold the CUP for long. Why should a child go for a toffee when he supposed to get a chocolate? Why cold suffering patients take headache tablet?
If you need man power, you need to polish them. Not to blame the system, that is sustaining for long and driving the world class companies.
