Despite all the warning efforts of the BN ruled government, the demonstration crowd was huge. One could only imagine how much bigger it could have been if there were not so many roadblocks leading towards the city center.

Its a good day for health growth in Malaysia. People power is gaining its strength. BN should realise that fire cannot fight with fire.

It will continue unless a change is done. Abolish ISA.

Yesterday I was hoping against hope that everything I know about the current political culture in Malaysia would today be proved wrong.

I’d hoped that democratic ‘due process’ would indeed take place in the Perak state assembly—and its environs—and that it would be upheld by lawmakers, police, civil servants, and the courts of justice who purportedly serve the Malaysian people who put them in office and, directly or indirectly, continue to pay their salaries.

Instead, what I’ve watched unfolding today is a scene directly from a police state: barbed wire cordoning off a democratic house of assembly; activists, lawmakers and ordinary rakyat being intimidated and arrested like criminals, because apparently it’s now a crime to wear black and have breakfast in the vicinity of the one place where your voice as a citizen is supposed to be heard. Fairly and freely.

I’ve seen the Perak state assembly descending into chaos in a naked power grab that makes a mockery of every claim to fairness, justice and democracy that the new regime of our newly-minted prime minister, who apparently orchestrated the whole debacle, may make.

It’s not a pretty sight. Naked ambition never is. Maybe both sides are to blame, neither willing to relinquish power. If so, surely it’s the democratic right of the people of Perak to decide who should go and who should stay. It is not the right of lawyers, civil servants or the Special Branch to do so.

What happened today is a sight that fills me with grief, because it shows clearly what ‘lessons’ the ruling coalition has learned since the rakyat conveyed their unhappiness in the ‘tsunami of change’ on March 8 last year.

That is, this new regime believes, like its predecessors, that the old ways still prevail, and that every trick in the book is permissible in order to grab and wield power in Malaysia while denying the rakyat their legitimate voice in free and fair polls.

From the weaknesses of ‘froggy’ lawmakers to the impartiality of the royalty, police, civil service, mainstream media and judges—this list is not exhaustible—all can be exploited, coerced, bought, intimidated or seduced over to your side by whatever means necessary. We don’t know exactly what means are used, but we see the results.

House standing orders can be thrown out the window. The speaker can be carted away like a sack of potatoes. The ordinary citizen in the street can be scared away or cordoned off like sheep. Bloggers and other commentators, if not already on-side, can be arrested, charged and perhaps fined far beyond their income-brackets. Those on-side can and usually are richly rewarded.

What this new regime is teaching us is the assumption that every Malaysian man and woman, every civil servant, every law enforcer, lawmaker and interpreter of the law in this country—perhaps even the law itself, even the Constitution—has a price, whether in the form of ringgit, or personal interest, or a bludgeon.

Every one of these can be bought and sold, applied as-you-please, adjusted here-and-there, or threatened into submission, while the principle of cakap tak serupa bikin fills our ears with platitudes, and our civil institutions—shaped by 51 years of systemic abuse of power—continue white-anting every effort at true democratic change.

A coup in Perak

Four key civil servants, supposedly impartial, have played an enormous part in the efforts to oust the democratically elected menteri besar and speaker of the Perak state assembly. I would go so far as to say it couldn’t have been done without them: the legal officer, the state assembly secretary, the sergeant-at-arms and the faceless person who turned off the speaker’s microphone in the Dewan.

Somewhere along the way, these unelected and unaccountable individuals have decided to renounce their service to the rakyat and instead of fulfilling their brief as public servants have chosen to become masters of the public. When public servants lose impartiality to the extent of openly attempting to bring down governments, it’s a black day indeed for democracy. What has taken place in Perak is a coup.

Since February, we’ve been watching—painfully, incredulously—while all these lessons unfolded in Perak and the courts, especially the Federal Court in Kuala Lumpur. Are these the lessons we want our children to learn? Is the undignified scuffle in the Perak state assembly the kind of democracy we’ll bequeath to them?

I’m wearing black today, as arrested activist and lecturer Wong Chin Huat asked before he was whisked away in the night, denied access to his lawyers. ‘Let us be united in one black colour and let’s show the world that the 1Malaysia under Najib is 1BlackMalaysia living in darkness.’

This darkness didn’t happen overnight. And it won't dissipate overnight. We have all contributed to it, by our silence, our apathy, our self-interest, and our fear. These qualities have been so indoctrinated in us that, like it or not, they are part of what makes us Truly Malaysian. We are so used to people telling us what we’re allowed to say and do. Why not also what to wear? What to think? What to be?

I guess all we can do at this juncture is take a good look at Perak, and then take a good look at ourselves, and ask: Is this how we Malaysians really want to be?

A movement calling itself Gagasan Melayu Perak (GMP) has lodged a police report against Malaysiakini.Com over a news report which the website had not published.

In the police report, GMP president Mohd Hilmi Ismail claimed that Malaysiakini had published an article insulting the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah, and Raja Muda of Perak, Raja Dr Nazrin Shah.

The said article, headlined ‘Raja Nazrin defends monarchy against ridicule’, was allegedly published by Malaysiakini on Tuesday. Wow, how did they even get the title?

But after a check, its revealed that no such report was ever published by Malaysiakini.Com.

However, they did apologized on their mistake.

Anwar Retaliation

What an effective reply from Anwar Ibrahim to Najib Tun Razak's comment earlier today. It would only be really dumb not to expect such retaliation. Here is a little snippet from Malaysiakini.com, I hope they do not mind. Just a little more than what there is for public viewing.

PKR leader Anwar Ibrahim returned fire at Umno president Najib Abdul Razak over his lashing that the enforced Penanti by-election was 'a waste of public resources' by suggesting that Barisan Nasional gave a walkover to Pakatan Rakyat.

KS Deol: I somewhat agree with Prime Minister Najib that this is not the time for another by-election.

However, since the election is inevitable now because the current assembly person finds himself not able to carry out his duties effectively and has expressed a desire to concentrate on other matters, I have a suggestion.

Well with this sort of comment, its very simple. Najib, please do not let Barisan Nasional contest. Let Pakatan Rakyat win uncontested.

Only this way, YOU will not waste our time and money and RESOURCES too. Did I clearly stated it?

How can he even have the nerve to say that? We are democratic and we vote for our leaders. Yes, they should stay for the term they were obligated to, but if circumstances do not permit, one just have to quit. However tracing back the past 5 by-elections, 2 were candidates who left their position and wanted the people to choose again rather than jumping ship. 3 more, I do not know if Najib read in the papers, DIED and had to ultimately vacate their seat.

I would like to further comment on this matter. Najib's 'brilliant' new cabinet should be the one thinking how they should fix this ailing and corrupt economy of ours. PKR Fairus Quitting

Just this morning after the good news of YB Eli Wong, I was wondering what will happen to the Penanti seat? As I claimed that it will be another headache, however the announcement was quite expected from Fairus, the question was just the matter of when was he going to announce it.

Although the newspapers were not able to contact him, I guess that would be the outcome and there is no need to reconfirm the announcement.

So I guess there will be another by-election up in the north. Will Pakatan Rakyat prevail will even stronger vote? or will this be the first time Barisan Nasional will win the seat after their disastrous campaigns?

This was something I had planned to do but looks like Raja Petra has beaten me to it. I wanted to compile the actual number of voters and quantify them to get the actual number on how much actually Barisan Nasional supports were. Interesting article which was sparked by an article written by a rubbish publication. It is quite a long read, but worth your while as the information revealed by Raja Petra are somewhat significant to predict the future of Pakatan Rakyat. Here is the article extracted from his site, enjoy:

Utusan Malaysia is very mischievous and we should not allow them to get away with this. We should go out and buy some copies of Utusan Malaysia and burn them. Can we organise a ‘Burn Utusan Malaysia Day’? Then we should ask all the newspaper vendors and shops to boycott Utusan Malaysia.

NO HOLDS BARRED

Raja Petra Kamarudin

Read the following piece published in Utusan Malaysia yesterday (http://www.utusan.com.my/utusan/info.asp?y=2009&dt=0415&pub=Utusan_Malaysia&sec=Muka_Hadapan&pg=mh_01.htm). If this is not considered seditious then I really don’t know what is. Opposition supporters, me included, have been made to face the court on sedition charges for lesser than what Utusan Malaysia wrote below.

The article starts by asking the Malays to rise up and unite in facing the ‘extreme demands’ of the ‘other races’. ‘They’ must be aware and remorseful about the current political situation that is witnessing all sorts of demands by the non-Malays that can result in Malay political power being jeopardised. Malays are asked to not bow to these extreme demands but on the other hand must rise up and unite to defend their rights and interests.

The article goes on to say that there are enough ‘Malay’ seats in Parliament for the Malays to form the government with just Malay seats. In other words, the Malays do not need the non-Malays to form the government. Therefore, the government must fulfil whatever demands of the Malays because the Malays are the majority and there should be no compromise with the non-Malays.

Umno will become strong if it looks after the interest of the Malays. So Ummo needs to focus on the Malays and not fear the non-Malays, as the non-Malays will automatically support Barisan Nasional if Umno is strong like in the past.

And the article goes on to say that the government must only worry about the Malays and not be too concerned about the non-Malays and that Umno must do whatever is necessary in the interest of the Malays.

That is not what I am saying. That is what Utusan Malaysia said. And Utusan Malaysia is owned by the political party in power and speaks on behalf of the political party in power. And what Utusan Malaysia is saying is a repetition of what Ali Rustam said at the PPP Melaka convention in 2007 -- that the Malays have ruled this country for 50 years without the help and support of the non-Malays and can continue doing so for another 50 years.

Utusan Malaysia is talking crap. In the 2008 general election, Barisan Nasional garnered 4,082,411 or 50.27% of the popular votes to win 140 seats in Parliament. That is slightly over half the eight million votes cast. With the loss of Kuala Terengganu in the recent by-election, it is now down to 139 seats.

Three million Malaysians who are registered voters did not bother to vote and another four to five million did not register as voters. That means, while eight million Malaysians voted, another seven to eight million did not. And that also means Barisan Nasional formed the government with votes from just 25% of the eligible voters or votes from 15% of the entire Malaysian population.

That is not really so great is it? How does Utusan Malaysia figure out that Umno or Barisan Nasional commands the support of the majority of Malaysians, in particular Malay Malaysians?

Umno won only 79 out of 222 parliament seats in the 2008 general election. That includes Kuala Terengganu, which they have now lost, and 13 more seats in Sabah. That means Umno has only 65 parliament seats in Peninsular Malaysia. That is less than 30% of the seats, not really enough to form a government without the non-Malay seats.

Maybe Utusan Malaysia was looking at the 20 ‘Malay’ seats from PKR and the 23 (now 24 with Kuala Terengganu) from PAS. If the 44 ‘Malay’ seats from Pakatan Rakyat were merged with Umno’s 78 (assuming the 13 seats in Sabah remain with Umno), the Malays would now control 122 seats in parliament, a majority of only 11 seats considering 50% of 222 is 111. Nevertheless, it will still just be a simple majority and worse than what Barisan Nasional has now, 139 seats.

How does Utusan Malaysia figure that the Malays can run this country with just Malay seats? They can form a federal government no doubt but it will be a government with a simple majority and with lesser seats that what it has now. Anyway, this is a purely academic discussion because, in the first place, the 44 Pakatan Rakyat ‘Malay’ seats will not swing to Umno -- expect for maybe two and we know whom those two are.

In the 2008 general election, Umno garnered only 2,381,725 or 29% of the votes. But not all these votes came from Malays. Umno actually won these seats because many non-Malays voted for it. If based just on Malay votes, Umno would have been demolished just like the other component members of Barisan Nasional. The next time around, Umno is not going to get these non-Malay votes as the four by-elections since 8 March 2008 have proven (unless the Chinese, Indians and ‘others’ are still bodoh macam lembu).

PKR, on the other hand, garnered 1,509,080 or 19% of the votes while PAS garnered 1,140,676 or 14%. This means, while Umno won 79 seats and PKR-PAS a total of only 54 seats on 8 March 2008, PKR and PAS combined garnered more than 2.6 million or 33% of the popular votes. That is more than what Umno got.

Figures don’t lie. And the figures show that Umno did not really do as great as they pretend they did. And there would be no way Umno can form the government with just ‘Malay’ seats even if PKR and PAS agreed to merge with them because UMNO, PKR and PAS all won their seats with non-Malay votes as well and not purely on Malay votes. And, in the first place, why should PKR and PAS want to merge with Umno when Umno’s ideology is Malay Supremacy or Ketuanan Melayu and PKR and PAS are both opposed to this?

And that, fellow Malaysians, is the real issue. Umno knows what we know. They are not stupid. In fact, they have plenty of money and can afford to buy the best brains to work for them. And they have been told that their days are numbered unless they can get the Malays to abandon the opposition cause and come and ‘unite’ under Umno.

Yes, that’s right. Umno wants the Malays to unite. But it must be to unite under Umno. If the Malays unite under the opposition -- or the Malays unite with the Chinese, Indians and ‘others’ -- then that is not considered uniting. That is considered berpecah.

Utusan Malaysia is very mischievous and we should not allow them to get away with this. We should go out and buy some copies of Utusan Malaysia and burn them. Can we organise a ‘Burn Utusan Malaysia Day’? Then we should ask all the newspaper vendors and shops to boycott Utusan Malaysia. And if any shop continues to sell Utusan Malaysia then we should boycott that shop. And those shops must be told that we are boycotting them and why we are boycotting them so that they know and will stop selling Utusan Malaysia if they want us to end the boycott of their shops.

Malays should start this campaign. This will be a message to Utusan Malaysia and Umno that Malays too do not subscribe to racism and dangerous rabble rousing with racial overtones. Malays must demonstrate to their non-Malay brothers and sisters that the Utusan Malaysia and Umno agenda is not the agenda of the majority of the Malays.

Yes, I know, this article is going to now get me into trouble, again, and the police will soon be raiding my house to confiscate my computer, and I will be called in for interrogation and charged in court, yet again, for sedition. That is my problem. In the meantime, can we show our displeasure at the attempt to make Malays and non-Malays fight by making a bonfire out of Utusan Malaysia?

KUALA LUMPUR 14 April – Orang Melayu perlu bangkit dan bersatu dalam berhadapan dengan tuntutan kaum lain yang kini dilihat semakin keterlaluan.

Mereka juga perlu sedar dan insaf dengan situasi politik semasa yang menyaksikan pelbagai tuntutan hingga boleh menjejaskan kekuatan politik orang Melayu.

Sehubungan itu, orang Melayu diminta tidak tunduk kepada tuntutan keterlaluan tersebut sebalik bangkit bersatu bagi mempertahankan hak dan kepentingan mereka.

Ahli Parlimen Pasir Mas, Datuk Ibrahim Ali berkata, pemimpin bukan Melayu dalam hal ini perlu sedar yang sesebuah kerajaan itu boleh sahaja untuk tidak ‘melayan’ tuntutan mereka.

Katanya, jumlah kerusi terbanyak di Parlimen adalah milik Melayu dan ia cukup untuk membentuk sebuah kerajaan berasaskan wakil rakyat Melayu semata-mata di negara ini.

Katanya, justeru, dari segi politiknya kerajaan itu sepatutnya memenuhi apa sahaja yang menjadi kehendak Melayu kerana mereka adalah majoriti dan bukan asyik bertolak ansur dengan bukan Melayu.

‘‘Parti Melayu akan kuat bila Melayu dijaga. Jadi UMNO kena fokus orang Melayu. Jadi UMNO tak perlu takut kerana saya lihat bila UMNO itu kuat orang bukan Melayu automatik akan sokong juga Barisan Nasional (BN) macam dulu,’’ katanya kepada Utusan Malaysia di sini hari ini.

Beliau mengulas pandangan mengenai situasi politik semasa yang menyaksikan kedudukan politik Melayu seakan terancam dengan tuntutan bukan Melayu pada masa kini.

Ahli Parlimen Sri Gading, Datuk Mohamad Aziz berkata, parti pemerintah ketika ini tidak boleh merasa bimbang untuk membuat apa sahaja keputusan yang dilihat perlu untuk membantu orang Melayu.

“UMNO kalau kita tengok Fasal 3 perlembagaannya ialah memperjuangkan hak Melayu.

“Pada masa sama orang Melayu pun kenalah sedar, asyik bercakaran sesama sendiri, tak untung Melayu sedangkan kita main politik untuk apa kalau tidak untuk membela Melayu.

“Jadi UMNO dan Pas kena duduk, tak kan dalam berbeza tak ada persamaan. Atas persamaan ini kita duduklah semeja dulu,” jelasnya.

Pemimpin UMNO, Datuk Seri Dr. Rais Yatim menegaskan, dalam soal wakil Kabinet misalnya, semua pihak harus menerima pilihan Perdana Menteri kerana ia bidang kuasa beliau.

Ketua Pembangkang Dewan Undangan Negeri Selangor, Datuk Seri Dr. Mohamad Khir Toyo berkata, hak orang Melayu tidak harus dilepaskan dalam usaha kerajaan memenuhi kehendak masyarakat pelbagai kaum.

“Biar wujud situasi menang-menang. Kita tidak boleh biar sebelah pihak sahaja menang. Kalau kita nak penuhi apa yang mereka nak, jangan pula kita lepaskan apa yang jadi hak kita,’’ katanya.

Timbalan Presiden Gabungan Pelajar Melayu Semenanjung (GPMS), Syed Anuar Syed Mohamad berkata, walaupun kerajaan mahu menekankan konsep Satu Malaysia yang menyatukan rakyat pelbagai kaum, langkah juga perlu dilakukan bagi mengembalikan keharmonian di kalangan orang Melayu sendiri.

“Dalam keadaan sekarang ini, orang Melayu berhadapan banyak cabaran semasa dan kita perlu mencari cara untuk memastikan kaum itu tidak berpecah-belah,” katanya.

Katanya, UMNO dan Pas tidak boleh melengah-lengahkan masa lagi untuk bekerjasama dalam memajukan orang Melayu.

Ketua Umum Badan Bertindak Perpaduan Melayu (BBPM), Osman Abu Bakar yang sependapat dengan GPMS berkata, cadangan yang baik seperti itu perlu dilaksanakan secepat mungkin.

Katanya, kerjasama antara dua parti politik itu bukan sahaja akan memberi faedah kepada orang Melayu sahaja tetapi juga kaum lain.

Tambahnya, penyatuan UMNO dan Pas perlu menjadi batu loncatan untuk mengeratkan semua rakyat berbilang kaum di negara ini.

“Sememangnya usaha ke arah itu akan mengambil masa tetapi sekurang-kurangnya kita tidak hanya bercakap atau mencadangkan sahaja,’’ tambahnya.

Oh ya, about the buying and burning the Utusan, I think it is not advicable. 1. it will bring in revenue to Utusan as long as we buy them, 2. its bad for the environment to burn.

Glad that YB Elizabeth Wong of Bukit Lanjan has decided not to step down. She should be even stronger now as the Barisan Nasional will surely capitalize on the circulated pictures of her.

I think she has nothing to be ashame of instead she should harness that negative energy and help the people in her constituency. Do not disappoint them.

Now the next headache will be from Penanti.

Today, 10 BN Terengganu state representatives did not turn up at the state assembly sitting. Words has it that they were boycotting to force Menteri Besar Ahmad Said to step down. I can only imagine why they would want to oust the current Terengganu MB. Just look at him.
Oops, sorry something when wrong when I was trying to load his picture. Anway, I meant, just look at him.
Why would there be any reason to force him out? He is so adorable, how can one imagine he would actually harm another person?

Thailand’s Turmoil – 8 Reasons Why it Won’t Happen Here

I was away taking a short break since the U.S. stock market was closed on Friday for Good Friday. In the process I’ve disconnected myself from the outside world, no TV, internet or whatsoever. And when I came back tons of things happened but nothing beats the chaotic crisis happening in Thailand. A summit meeting of East Asian leaders in Pattaya intended to address the economic crisis and regional issues was rudely disrupted and all the leaders were rushed away by helicopters, speed-boats or cars to escape the tsunami of red-shirt protestors. Poor newly-installed PM Najib Razak – he was still in the shock and was visibly upset that he couldn’t deliver his first speech in the international forum as the PM of Malaysia. So far there seems to be bad omens for this PM who is also the son of the country’s second prime minister.

After Najib officially took over the presidency of UMNO and PM the tri by-elections which were timed to give the federal government advantage didn’t work according to the plan. Najib’s marketing stunt during his maiden speech as the PM also didn’t seems to work when the opposition retained their seats with increased majority. Najib’s administration is as puzzled as Thailand’s PM Abhisit Vejjajiva on what went wrong. Well, actually it was more on denial syndrome on Najib’s part and allegation of illegitimate premiership and demand for fresh elections on Abhisit’s side. If there’s one thing that shocked Najib who was holed up in his fifth-floor Royal Cliff hotel room before being escorted to the airport, it was the view of the swarming red-shirt protestors into the hotel.

Compared to Malaysian protestors the red-shirt protestors who are supporters of ousted Thaksin Shinawatra are more fearless and presevere in their demand for fresh elections. Najib has been having peaceful and luxurious life after his father’s death since everything was given to him on silver-plate. Can you imagine if what he experienced in Pattaya was actually happening in Kuala Lumpur? Maybe that was what shocked him so much so that he needs more time to compose himself even after his plane landed on Malaysian soil. About 30,000 protestors have taken to the street of Bangkok which was declared “state of emergency”. Some protestors even had taken over some military tanks. Like it or not the current situation in Thailand would indirectly impact its’ neighboring countries although it should not have the same effect as 1997-1998 Asia Recession, which coincidently started from Thailand as well.

While the Malaysian protestors could learn a trick or two from Thailand’s protestors both countries share different approaches and methodlogies although the objective is the same – a change in government for the betterment of the people; at least that was what they claimed. The good news - what is happening in Bangkok will never happen in Kuala Lumpur and below are the reasons:
The protestors "identity" is different – unlike Thailand’s protestors who are united as “Thais”, Malaysian’s protestors are still divided under ethnic umbrella and you can see more ethnic-Malay than ethnic-Chinese or ethnic-Indian protestors although the gap is slowly closing in as can be wtinessed since the Mar 2008 general election. While the ethnic-Malay and ethnic-Indian are more daring in their demonstration, the ethnic-Chinese prefer to voice so silently via ballot-box. It’s still the “business first” and “rice bowl first” for the Chinese although most of them are open about their frustration on the current weak and corrupt government.
The reason is different – the red-devils demonstrators reason was British-born Abhisit Vejjajiva came to power undemocratically (hence illegitimately) through a court ruling that toppled former premier and Manchester City owner Thaksin Shinawatra's allies in December citing fraud in the 2007 election. But in Malaysia the current government came to power after it won the majority seats in the Parliament although it was a different story in Perak state. Still judging by the scale of demonstration after Perak fallen to BN after the so-called coup, it’s negligible compared to what Thailand is experiencing. Malaysian’s reason of “corrupt” government is simply insufficient to create the chain-reaction of effect.
The Icon is different - it’s undeniable that many red-shirt protestors are die-hard supporters of ousted Thaksin Shinawatra. And the reason why billionaire Thaksin is still so influential till today despite living in exile since 2006’s coup is because he still commands the country’s poor-man loyalty through his past popular policies. If there’s one type of people that you do not want to mess around, it’s the poor who have nothing to lose. In Malaysia the most influential figure is perhaps Anwar. Mahathir has lost its shine as can be seens during the recent by-election. Despite his charismatic Anwar would not be able to mobilize battalions of “Malaysian” protestors huge enough to effect any changes, at least for now.
Malaysia FRU is an awesome machine *grin* - nobody knows the exact size of the deadlly machine – Malaysia’s FRU. Nickname deadly zombies FRU has been used with great success in breaking up demonstrators except in the case of “Bersih” rally. In any rally it was a matter of which side has the most fearless and deadly machines and people. As comparison the red-shirt Thai protestors are many times fearless than Malaysian protestors but at the same time Malaysian’s FRU is many times deadly than Thailand’s. It would be an interesting match to watch if you put Thaksin’s protestors against Malaysia’s FRU *whoa*.
Malaysia police and military forces’ support is undivided towards Govt – there’s report that when red-shirted protesters smashed cars carrying Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and his aides, the police who were standing nearby did nothing sparking speculation that the military and police are divided in their support for Abhisit. In Malaysia the presence of FRU and police are enough to control the protestors and the military has yet to be called in any demonstration so far. In an event that the military is to be used, it would most likely for state of emergency which never happen since the 1969 riots.
Huge and prolong demonstration sustainability – while Thailand has seen many huge demonstration numbering tens to thousands of hundreds people, Malaysian demonstrations are at their infancy. Thai’s are veteran while Malaysians are novice in the culture of demonstration. Furthermore Thais can go on for days or weeks of continuous demonstration as if it was a festival celebration while Malaysians can only lasts for hours. After “releasing” their tensions Malaysian will go back to their daily job and it’ll be business as usual.
Malaysia has the silver bullet ISA *grin* – the infamous ISA’s detention without trial is the most efficient tool that has been used to silent politicians and leaders of protestors in Malaysia. ISA is the best weapon to neutralize and break the mentality of any individual who is anti-government. The detention of the leader(s) will cripple the whole movement. I can’t remember if Thailand has such equivalent law that is being used on political protestors. With the current crisis in Thailand you would be naïve to think that Najib’s administration would think twice about abolish the ISA. They need it even more now.
Malaysian government is dirtier, more cunning and brutal – from masquerading as the opposition in burning flags to throwing away ballot boxes into the sea from helicopters and speedboats, the corruption in Malaysia has reached the highest point of no return. The perception of the public is there’s no independent body anymore in the country as the executive, judicial, legislative, election commission, police, anti-corruption agencies and almost everything under the sun are under the spells of corruption. They would not think twice about using excessive force – either you’re suspected criminals like Kugan or average-Joes. Even the monarchy dare not question the present government.
Let’s hope the current crisis in Thailand will not happen in Malaysia for the simple reason that it would cripple the economy, not to mention the current already fragile stock market. Anyway, for the reasons stated above such similar chaotic situation should not happen. Malaysians are known for their patience and it will probably take another two to three years to take over the government should the present government remains unchanged and the people decided “enough is enough”. When that day happen (the collapse of present government) you can be sure that the current top guns running away onboard their planes out of the country.

Penanti And Bukit Lanjan In Focus

The focus is now back to this 2 constituencies. Will there be 2 more by-elections coming up?

For Penang’s Mohammad Fairus Khairuddin (Penanti), the call is expected but for Selangor’s Elizabeth Wong (Bukit Lanjan), I do not think she should give up this fight. She should have expected these sort of dirty strategies from the Barisan Nasional side. YB Elizabeth Wong, please stay on and continue the fight. Do not give in so easily. Bring the real culprits to justice.

First Documented Prove On Effective Public Transportation In Malaysia

I am finally here in Singapore and true enough the public transportation has made my day once again. I have no idea whether its efficiency charm only works for me or for everyone else. For the words that is going around, I do not seem to be able to get the same vibe from the other public transporters. They always seem very frustrated with the system and the worse part is that I really cannot relate to it as I, myself, cannot seem to find myself in that predicament. Its always smooth flow for me; not just this 2 years but since way back before that. I only started taking note 2 years ago.

Anyway, here is my movement log which I jotted down today.

1.19 pm - Left house and started walking to the bus stop next to Sunway Pyramid.

1.29 pm -Reached the bus stop at Sunway Pyramid.

1.29 pm - Bus was already there when I reach the bus stop. Cost RM1.00.

Started moving to Kelana Jaya LRT station (ETA: 28 minutes).

2.01 pm - Reached Kelana Jaya LRT station slightly over ETA. I started walking up the escalator and crossing over the pedestrian bridge to enter main part of the Kelana Jaya LRT.

2.04 pm - Bought my LRT ticket (Kelana Jaya - Pasar Seni) at the counter. Cost RM2.10. Headed to the platform to wait for my train.

2.06 pm - Train arrive. Boarded the train and it started moving almost instantly (ETA: 28 minutes to reach Pasar Seni LRT station).

2.30 pm - Reached Pasar Seni LRT station.

2.37 pm - Reached destination and bought the kaya rolls.

2.43 pm - Reached back Pasar Seni LRT station and bought ticket to Bangsar LRT station. Cost RM1.40.

2.51 pm - Reached platform and train just arrived.

2.56 pm - Reached Bangsar LRT station and started making my way to the First Coach Station.

3.00 pm - Reached FINAL DESTINATION.

I was one and a half hour early. So what do you say about our Malaysian public transportation?

According to the news, both Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri and Corporal Sirul Azhar Umar were found guilty and sentenced to death for the murder of Mongolian woman Altantuya Shaariibuu. Well they have someone to take the blame. Too bad they were not able to nail the 'masterminds'.
