Add a link in the postbit to add a member as friend

Hello there you guys i hope u all doing well.

Today i was thing what new feature or like a system add in mybb.When ever you need to add some one as friend you need to go to in his or her profile then you can add him or her as friend.So i think to make it as simple as single click so add a link in postbit to add someone as friend.

Here we go.

Go to: ACP > Templates > Postbit Templates > postbit_author_user templates > and add the following code at the bottom.

<br />Friend: <a href="{$mybb->settings['bburl']}/usercp.php?action=do_editlists&add_username={$post['username']}&my_post_key={$mybb->post_code}">Add as Friend</a>

4. Advanced Rainbow Colors For All Links: its convert all links with colorful links like rainbow color changing really fast its look good but i did not recommend it because i don't like it but if you want to use it then do it.no problem

Tutorail for forum feed,subscription and new thread icons add in forum column

Hi guys i hope you all doing well and running your forums successfully.Here is a nice tutorial for forum feed,subscription and new thread icons add in forum column.

First lool at the final result in the image right below this line.

so you need to edit only one template and one line.For beginners i suggest to create a test theme to check your modifications if you might make a mistake in code that will be a little bit hard for you am i right.I am sharing this only for beginners the pro already know these kinds of little things very well.

So here we go to the admin panel.

1.Go to Templates and styles -> templates -> template set that is used by your current forum theme -> Forum Bit Templates -> forumbit_depth2_forum

2.Find this line <td class="{$bgcolor}" valign="top">
<strong><a href="{$forum_url}">{$forum['name']}</a></strong>{$forum_viewers_text}<div class="smalltext">{$forum['description']}{$modlist}{$subforums}</div>
</td>

3.Replace these lines with above one <td class="{$bgcolor}" valign="top">

How to edit or add new top links in MyBB header

It is very simple to edit or add new top link in the header of mybb

First go to your admin panel.
Click on Templates & Style tab.
Click on Templates in the left sidebar.
Click on the theme name example the default theme.
Then expand the Header Templates and header.
Then find these lines.

<ul>

<li><a href="{$mybb->settings['bburl']}/memberlist.php"><img src="{$theme['imgdir']}/toplinks/memberlist.gif" alt="" title="" />{$lang->toplinks_memberlist}</a></li>

<li><a href="{$mybb->settings['bburl']}/calendar.php"><img src="{$theme['imgdir']}/toplinks/calendar.gif" alt="" title="" />{$lang->toplinks_calendar}</a></li>

<li><a href="{$mybb->settings['bburl']}/misc.php?action=help"><img src="{$theme['imgdir']}/toplinks/help.gif" alt="" title="" />{$lang->toplinks_help}</a></li>

</ul>

</div>

when you find this you need to add a new line take the first line for example.

<li><a href="{$mybb->settings['bburl']}/search.php"><img src="{$theme['imgdir']}/toplinks/search.gif" alt="" title="" />{$lang->toplinks_search}</a></li>

you need to edit the colored lines.

Red for the link that you what to add.
Blue for the image or icon that appear at the left side of the top link you need 16x16 size icon.
Green for the Text that will appear as the top link.

and you need to put you top link line before the </ul> tag.

Mybb Theme Making tutorial with simple step by step screen shots

There are so many new people to mybb those really like to know how to create or make mybb themes for there own forum.Some people simple go for the premium paid themes.But some people like to design there own with there specific needs.

So i am making this tutorial for those who really like to made there own design or for those who don't have money to buy premium paid themes.

I already installed mybb forum software on my local computer.If you want to know how to install mybb on local computer you can watch our vedio tutorial here.
I assume you already install your mybb forum software on your webhosting account or local computer.
1.First go to your mybb forum software folder that you installed on your webhost server

2.Now go into images folder
3.Now create a new folder that going to be your new theme folder.

You can see the folder in the red box i created for this demo I named it demotheme
4.Now to need to copy all files in the images folder to demofolder.

5.Next you have to login your mybb admin control panel and click Templates & Style tab.

6.Now click on Create New Theme tab.

7.Now enter the theme name and click the create new theme button.

8.You successfully created your new theme now you need a templates set for your theme so we going to create one in the Templates & Style tab there a templates button at the left side click on it and here we are.Click on the add set button

9.Now enter the title for templates set i recommend it the same name as theme demotheme and then click save

10.So we have every thing ready but ew need to edit some parts of the themes.We are back at this page

11.In the image directory box enter the directory name that we created in step 3.I created demotheme.

it is very simple just after images type slash and the directory name like

images/demotheme

12.In the Template Set box or pink box select the templates title that we created in the step 8 & 9.

13.Click on global.css that in the green box.

14.You will be on this page and now click on Edit Stylesheet: Advanced Mode.

you need to edit some properties of css codes.I already listed the lines that needed to change below

background: #026CB1 url(images/thead_bg.gif) top left repeat-x;

background: url(images/invalid.gif) no-repeat center left;

background: url(images/valid.gif) no-repeat center left;

background: url(images/spinner.gif) no-repeat center left;

background: url('images/error.gif') no-repeat 0;

background: url('images/jump.gif') no-repeat 0;

in all these lines you only have to write your theme directory name like we did in the step 11 here an example of it.i took the first line.

background: #026CB1 url(images/thead_bg.gif) top left repeat-x;

change to

background: #026CB1 url(images/demotheme/thead_bg.gif) top left repeat-x;

i only added the red text in the line.So change all these 7 lines in your global.css.

It was the last step of theme creation.

So the theme exactly look like mybb default theme but now you can design it with you own needs.

Soon there will be some step by step tutorials for theme designing.

How to install Mybb Forum on a local computer or laptop

When you design some thing or made something like Theme,Mods,Pluggin or anything related to coding you need to test it before put it online.
So test anything about mybb on you own computer.I made a simple tutorial for mybb newbies.
How install mybb on a local computer.
