I am thinking of changing career and switching from healthcare to working with the United States Postal Service or USPS just for a change. So, I checked their website and they have an open position of Mail Processing Clerk so I filled up an application online and submitted it last Sunday and was able to get a schedule to take the exam yesterday and I did. I took the Postal Exam 473 and thank God that I passed the test. I'm hoping that I could get hired and start soon. Feeling excited!

Little Giant’s selection of sump pumps meet nearly all needs of sump drainage, basement drainage, and water discharge. They offer three series of pumps: the 5.5 series and 6 series and WRS series cast iron sump pumps.

The 5.5 series has a 1 / 4 horse power motor, zinc housing, and a capacity of 123 liters per minute (LPM) at .31 meters. The Zoeller company has three models of sump pumps: Model 49; 50 series; and Model 72.

The back up systems offered operate with battery units and come with microprocessors to initiate when water levels are too great or power outages occur. They also offer combinations of primary submersible pumps and battery back up pumps.

Tyler's Preschool

Tyler just started going to his pre-school class and he is loving it. He gets so excited every time hubby and I drop him off to school. On the other hand, Toby gets sad when his older brother gets out of the truck to get in to his school. Toby wants to go to school too. We explained to him that next year when he turns 3 he will be going to Tyler's school too. I'm so glad that Tyler is very interested to go to school. I'm hoping that it will stay that way, that he would continue to love school as he grows older.

After Work

Just got home from work. It was a long 12 hours of work and I was ready to go home. The boys were so happy to see me walk in the house. Now, I'm relaxing writing my blog trying to sit down for a little bit. So nice that hubby offered to cook me something for dinner. The boys are playing in the living room. Just love to be home with my family.

It's been almost a year since my last post. Things just got so busy since I started working again. I worked 5 days a week and takes care of my two boys after I get off my work and during my days off. This last March I requested to change my schedule to work 3 days and 12 hours each day so I could have more days off to spend time with my growing children. I'm loving my new schedule although working 12 hours is very tough but I just look forward for my 4 days off then it makes it easier plus the day goes by so fast. Since I have more off I thought about going back to blogging. So here I am updating my blog entry and hoping that I could get more active in it.

A friend suggested that I visit smallbusiness.xo and look into upgrading our networking and communications at my office after a disaster last week. I have been practicing medicine for twenty years. I don’t know much about the business part, but someone talked me into using an on-line scheduling site. You pay a monthly fee and all the information about scheduling can be accessed on-line. The internet site also takes care of making confirmation calls and patients can log on to schedule or change appointment times or dates. In theory, it is a great idea, but if you stinking internet crashes it can leave your office crippled. It happened for the third time in a month last week, this time for the longest time yet. I was totally over it! That’s why we have decided to upgrade to t1 internet at my friends’ suggestion. I can’t afford to have an internet FAIL! It pains me to think about how stressful and hectic not knowing who is coming into your office and at what time they are coming. It is also embarrassing to have to ask the patient there name and spend time pulling there file when they are already in the waiting room!

Totally Potty Trained

Yes, I'm happy to say that Tyler is totally potty trained. It took him about 1 week to learn to use the bathroom to go pee and poop but now he is doing great when he needs to go. He is not wearing any diapers during the day or night coz he knows when to use the bathroom. He is wearing briefs now like a big boy. I am so proud of him he doesn't even wet himself at bedtime. He stays dry all night and goes to the bathroom to pee when he wakes up. I can't believed he is growing so fast. He will be 3 years old in June. He is growing smart and sweet boy.

Toilet Training

Tyler has been doing great in his toilet training. It has been almost a week that he goes to the bathroom when he wants to go pee and poop and he is doing great about telling us when he needs to go. He is just wearing underwear and no diaper doing the day when he is at home and today he hasn't have any accident yet. At night we put his diaper on when he is in bed but he doesn't wet as much as he used to. I'm glad that he is learning to go to the bathroom now and I'm hoping he will continue to be on top of it. I told him he will be ready for school when he learns to go the bathroom and not wet himself. He said mommy I'm ready to go to school.

I've always loved the 50s and 60s retro look and now it's back in style thanks to Mad Men. But then again a lot of the things that have been created that are in that style are a bit out of my budget. Because of that, I thought that I would try and DIY a lot of things to mimic the more expensive stuff. My furniture has been retro for a while, but I've been upgrading to some new furniture that just looks old lately. It's about that time anyway.
I looked online to see if I could get some Tile Flooring installed because I love the black and white tile flooring. Nothing looks more retro than that. So I'm going to get that done in my kitchen.
I also found some DIY reupholstering tips and I'm going to try and reupholster some of my furniture into some new, retro looking fabric. I found a sale on some really great stuff and I think that it's going to really brighten up my living room couch.

Five years in the US

It was January 22, 2007 when I left the Philippines and it's been five years that I have been here in the US. Time just go by so fast. I'm glad within five years of being here I was able to apply for my naturalization and became a US Citizen. I am done with all my immigration papers and my next goal is to be able to get my parents to come here and live with us.

Back when Torchwood was on the air for the first few seasons, I really got into it because of one episode where it crossed over with Doctor Who. Then I got hooked. It was the same for my roommates too and we just started watching it religiously together. Well, not all of us still live together, but we've been getting together to watch the new episodes. It's also a reason for us to catch up with each other. It's amazing how much less you see people when you don't live together.
I was looking up some spoilers for the season a few weeks ago and while I was doing that I ran across the website clear-internet.com. I looked through it some and after that I decided to switch my internet service at my apartment over to it.
I'm pretty please with the new Torchwood season so far. I think that they're doing a good job with it, especially since they called off almost all of their original cast.

As much as I dread it, when I it snows outside I have to brave it and head into work. I work as a secretary so I can't really get away with working from home, unfortunately. There are only so many things that I can do through e-mail. I just have to be by the phone.
So I keep a pretty close eye on the weather reports to help psych myself up for when I'll have to drive in bad weather. When I was doing that last week I came across some hughesnet deals that sounded so great that I decided to sign up for one of them for my home internet service.
But I am pretty good at winter weather driving because I take my time and am extra cautious. That means that I have to get up early and get ready for work earlier, but it's worth not getting into a wreck. Plus, if I'm not there at work on time, I'm not doing my job well.

Pregnancy at 31 weeks

I'm getting closer to my due date and getting more uneasy moving around because of the pains due to pregnancy. I had my prenatal check up this morning and everything went good. My blood pressure was normal, Urine test was normal too. I gained more weight and I up to 123.6 lbs which is normal since I was only around 94 lbs because I got pregnancy. I was at 130 lbs with my last pregnancy. So, it's about close I think since I still have 9 weeks more to go. Me and hubby are excited to see this baby. I'm sure Tyler is excited too. He knows that I'm going to have a baby and he knows that I have the baby in my tummy right now.

It’s the big sale of the year and people came out to shop as early as 3 am to fall in line to the stores just to be able to get in and avail of the lowest price and great deals on selected products. Even if it was 4 degrees F this morning but it didn’t stop for the shoppers to enjoy the biggest sale of Black Friday. Hubby and I went around from one store to another but didn’t go til past 9 in the morning. We got some good deals though but mostly for Tyler’s clothes and toys for Christmas. I was looking for shoes but didn’t find the ones I like. I am thinking of checking for shoes online first so it would save me time and gas from going out driving from one store to another. I am sure there is still a lot of good deals even if Black Friday Sale has ended. While checking and browsing online I came across with zappos.com that sells different brands of women’s shoes, as well as men’s and kid’s shoes. They carry a wide selection of branded shoes like Adidas, Born, Calvin Klein and many more. I might check on this site and see if I could get some get good deals on Born Shoes that are on SALE right now.

Thanksgiving

We had a great thanksgiving celebration last night. Everyone in the family showed up and that was one of the best Thanksgiving dinner I had since I came here in the US. The foods were good and yummy and best of all visiting with the family was wonderful. Before we started our dinner, everyone of us had a chance to say what we were thankful for and everyone took turn to say their part. It was a memorable one. Tyler was having fun too because he saw his cousins and he played with them.

Are you guys ready for Thanksgiving? Me and the family are getting ready for it. We are spending Thanksgiving Day in Delta, Colorado where hubby's brother and his family live. Hubby and mom-in-law are in the kitchen busy preparing stuff to take with us for tomorrow's celebration. They are good at it so I spare myself from it coz they know better when it comes to American foods. Ha,ha,... Tyler is asleep and I have my laudry in the dryer on. This will be Tyler's second Thanksgiving but it will be his first when he is much aware of what is going on around him coz he is 17 months old now. I can't believe my baby is growing fast.

There's so much information about pregnancy and childbirth online and I am so thankful that I can use my clear wimax 4Gt to do the research. I think about my mom when she was pregnant with me and how she had to go out and buy a bunch of pregnancy and childbirth books. She also had to go to the library to check out a bunch of books about babies and their development. Not me! All I have to do is get online and browse the internet. Anything I want to know is right there and it's free for the viewing. I've read about everything from conception to the full term development of my baby to how to take care of her when she's born. I've even gone to some of the video sites and viewed some of the birthing videos. That's a little scary but I know how happy I will be when my baby finally arrives. Of course, I have to be careful when browsing the internet for information about pregnancy and childbirth and especially about how to take care of my baby when she's born. It's like shopping. Some sites offer better quality information than others so I have to be careful.

Fishing

Hubby went fishing with Nichole tonight. He told me if I wanted to go but said no because I wasn't in the mood. Sometimes I get bored especially when we don't catch fish right away. I just talked to him over the phone and told me that they caught 4 catfish but set them free back to the lake. They were fixing up to get back home. I told him if he could drop by Burger King to get me some chicken fries with barbeque sauce with it. I just put Tyler down on his crib asleep. Now, I have some time to blog and check online.

Yes, I think Bandit needs Nylabone to solve his bad breath problem. I told hubby one time that Bandit’s breath is so bad and asked him if there is any way we could do to solve the problem like going to the Vet to have his teeth cleaned. Growing Tyler

Wow, I could not believe how fast my baby grows. It's been awhile since my last post and now my baby is already a toddler. Tyler just turned 1 year old last June 23rd. He has grown a lot. He is now walking and running around. He has learned a lot of things. He can say some words aside from mama and dada. He can point at things he wants to get. He is more playful and more active which keeps me busy all day long. Here's Tyler's latest pics.

Tyler at 5 months

Tyler is 5 months old today. I can't believe how time flies by so fast and how quick Tyler has grown. He is getting bigger and bigger each passing day. We have introduced him to eating rice cereal which he doesn't care much but he is learning how to swallow it. We think that he is not ready for solid foods yet. So, we only give him rice cereal once a week. At 5 months he is more active, and responsive specially when you talk to him. He makes a lot of noises now and he drools a lot too. I guess he will be teething pretty soon. He sleeps longer at night now. Last night for the very first time he slept for 11 hours straight. He slept at 8 in the evening and woke up at 7 this morning. Although he started crying last night and I thought he would wake up and wanted his milk but I just gave him his "bingkee" (pacifier) and went back to sleep again. He has always been a good boy at night. I only feed him once or twice and he would go back to sleep when I put him back to his crib. Hubby took some pictures of him today at 5 months old.
