Imagine you as a visitor, looking forward interested content for certain URL location. At the end, the screen had shown nothing except a 404 error page. If happen to me, I try refreshing the page with hopping the page will appear. If those error page still appear, i simply close my tab and forget about that blog. I bet you also will do the same! So rid and fix broken link in your blog.

How to fix or remove broken link in blogspot?

Sign in your Google webmaster tool.
Add your blog URL.
Choose Meta tag verification method from drop down menu.
Copy and paste code given before the first <Body> in your blogspot template.
Save your template.
Then verify your blog. Note: for "Upload an HTML file" method, download html file given by Google. Upload the html file to you blog using FTP Clients. Confirm by visiting "http://Your Blog URL/Google html file.html". Then click verify.
After verification, click on your blog under Google webmaster tools.
Click on "Dashboard" go to Diagnostics.
Then select Crawl errors.
Under web tab click on "Not Found". Numbers in bracket indicate number of errors detected.
Copy the error links.
Go back to "Dashboard" click on "Site configuration", and then click "Crawler access".
In Crawler access, click on "Remove URL tab"
Select "New Removal Request". Chose removal method applicable for your situation, then click "Next" button.
Insert broken URL. Click "Add".
Then submit your removal request.

Your links removal will complete after several days, you may need to wait up to 3 days.

For better crawling we need to use sitemap. Basically, blogger use sitemap to inform search engine which part of their sites are eligible for crawling. Sitemap is in XML file which contain lists of URLs for a website.

The sitemap also contain data as;

last time website updated

How frequent the website changes

How important the URL is than other URLs in the site

Carrying such information, sitemap submitted will help web crawlers to do a better job of crawling your site.

For blogger user, you can submit blogspot sitemap by using your rss feeds. Before that you need to do these;

Open your Google accounts
Go to Webmaster Tools
Click on "Add a site"
Insert your blog URL
Select verification method "Meta tag"
Copy paste Meta tag given into your layout html before the first <body> section
Save your template. Wait couple of minutes
Click "verify". your site will undergoes verification for awhile.
After verification completed. Select your site in sites list.
At your left, under "Dashboard" click on "Site configuration" then click "Sitemaps"
Next click on "Submit a Sitemap" insert: rss.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=100
After several minutes your available blogspot URLs will be indexed.

I read a comments from official Google webmaster central blog, they actually ignores Meta tag keywords for search engine ranking. They already did this long time ago and don’t be surprised, they don’t give a damn about Meta tag. For professional blogger, you may know this. But for those who beginner, we might get confuse about the important of Meta tag keywords in search engine optimization.

Loudly I want to share, don’t bother about Meta tag! 10 or 15 years back, Meta tag was useful techniques to get the pages appear on the first page of organic search. However, this tip was abused by spammer people. They simply put a Meta tag keywords between the tags, even not related to the contents. In addition from other commentary in this issue, having the Meta tag keywords could invite spam to your website. This sound bad and that must be the answered, for sure Google doesn’t want to show spammed pages in its search results.

Blogger Search Bar Issues

If your blog not being indexed by Google, site search would not found anything. I tried on my test blog (not be indexed), nothing found, event by copy n paste the title of the post into the search bar. But my primary blog, working just find. Coz, it was indexed. This happen for both user created site search bar and also new blogger search bar widget.

This Blogger search bar problem cause a bad rumors among the blogger. For the search box widget in blogger, there is nothing wrong going on there. If you got the problem, please submit your blog for be indexed.

But the problem exist for navigation search bar. Don't get confuse with blogger search box. Navigation search bar is at the top of your blogger blog. It help you to search other blog hosted in blogger. I tried this search bar to find a blog that match which phrase i insert. But there was nothing happen.

Hopefully, the navigation bar could be fix as soon as possible. But normally blogger tend to remove this bar. Not cool at all, even some time help drive traffic from other blogs.

This question should not be answered by me, you should have the answer within yourself. If i want to start a blog, i must have a reason. We would not start something without a reason, isn't it.

Honestly i start blogging at first influenced by my colleague. She did a good job in blogging and feel happy with the reader came in. So i start blogging and felt the same thing. After exploring other excellent blog sites, i got feeling to seriously get into blogging. I started to think this is a challenge to me to establish my own blog. Hopefully it could become true.

I started blogging one year, but still not satisfy with my achievement. What I have done during that whole year on my blog? Posting 40 articles even less than that; changing template, adding ads, keep refreshing with no reason; what the hell!. After one year I realized from this moment, to become successful blogger, u need successful blog. If you want to produce a good and successful blog, you need good topics for posting and good understanding on blogging tips or rules. But to doing all these, what you need is two positive elements which are passion and determination.

If you have determination without passion, your efforts and hardworking ships would not last longer in blogger world. In this blogger world, you must have a passion attribute. In matter of fact, current top blogger was not become first in blogging just in one day. For some guys like us who are nobody will consume some time to establish in blogging. However the milestone to become successful blogger can be shorten with our determination. We should have courage to continue blogging and posting, even without any visitors to our site. Don’t worry about traffic; they will come to you when your posts were there.

In blogspot,the guest who clicking the pictures we uploaded will be redirected to our pictures directory folder. It is important to keep the visitors hanging or stay still in our blog page to increase possibilities they continuously read our post. To keep our visitor tagging in our page also will increase probability of an advertisements will be clicked. In order to avoid the visitor run away, we should put string "open link in new tab" for what ever link. Including, pictures, table, figures and etc.

Here i will shared, how to open pictures link in new windows in blogger? The trick is same as a previous post (open link in new windows).

1) Upload your image as usual.

2) Click edit html and find the string(html) as showed below;

Instead of using text box, we could used a border for blog post. In previous post i showed you how to add textbox in blogger post. After writing that post, i thinking to put a border around the text. After searching, i found this code which is suitable for our blogspot post.

Copy paste the text in the box above into your blog post. You will get something as showed below;

The border above was a solid line, you also could change the solid line to other types of line. Change the word "solid" too "dotted" and "dashed" will give you dotted border and dashed border respectively.

The code which i shared with you could be customized. Increase the value for width and height will increased the border area. You may also change the color and the thickness of the border. Good luck to try these..

Add TextBox HTML into Blogger Post

There will be a time needed to put some of your post inside the text box area. For example if i want to share a html code in tuning blogger post, i can,t simply typing the code by using a compose mode. Because blogger will detect it as a real html code. Consequences from that, i need to create a text box and put the html code which i want to share inside the text area. You actually could do this using blogger. You also could use text box for quotes, html link etc.

Copy paste the html above and change the text as you wish in the blog post. You will get the same thing as i wrote in this boxes

If you want a bigger text box area. just increase the value for rows="??" and cols="??"

How To Put A Digg Button

Today i learn something new. About the Digg button. If you want to know how to insert Digg button in blogspot post. You may follow my finding without any regret.

1. Your blog should be set to save Post Page. Under Settings > Archiving, set the "Enable Post Pages?" to "Yes" and save settings

Note: This tip will put a Digg button to every post. So you will not be able to choose which post you want to include or exclude a button.

2. Then goes to "Template" click on "Edit HTML" tab. Backup your current template first by click on "Download Full Template" before editing. After editing you can preview the new changes, and only save the changes when you are satisfied. With a backup, you can easily restore your previous template if needed.

3. If you ready to edit, click the box next to "Expand Widget Templates". Look for
4. If you want the button to show at the top right corner of your post, copy paste following code at the top of the line. If you put it at the bottom, the Digg button will showed at the right bottom of your post.
