Then every time someone clicks on your ad, Google would charge you 60 cents, and you would retain the top position until someone else bids more for the same search word placement.</p>

<p><strong></strong>Both advertising programs can be quite profitable and it all depends on your level of expertise, experience, niche market and the type of products or services that you wish to promote in your site. As a publisher, Adsense is completely free thus the recommended choice for novice and beginners who wish to make some money from blogs and websites. You can generate a hefty passive revenue as a publisher if you target the right keywords that generate high cost per click.</p>
<p>On the other hand you need to spend some money to run AdWords campaigns thus it is not recommended for newbie.  The main advantage to go with this method is that you can get your ads to appear at the top of the sponsor search result page if you select select and bid the right keywords.</p>
<p>On a personal note,<strong> I feel that getting paid for taking ads is a much more profitable strategy then paying for placing ads for most websites.  </strong>Paid advert  is more suitable for those who wish to promote product or build leads while taking ads  is the better choice for generating automatic passive income.</p>
<p><strong> The Key to AdSense Success<br />
</strong>Google  is one of the smartest company in the world.  Give what the search engine wants and you should have no problem making good income from it. Content is king so to speak  thus you should provide consistent quality content in the places where you put your ads.</p>
<p>Target keywords with high CPC  (you can estimate the cost per click by using <a title="Estimate CPC With Google Keyword External Tool" href="https://adwords.google.com" target="_blank" onclick="pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/adwords.google.com?referer=');">Google Keyword External Tool </a>) and build content around such phrase but  don&#8217;t end up with keyword stuffing otherwise you might get penalized by Panda or Penguin updates!  Follow the Google Webmaster Guideline!</p>
<p>Put your ads &#8216;above the fold&#8217; so to speak, in other words place it at the top of the content page so that user do not have to scroll down to view it.  One of the great thing about AdSense is that you can format the advert blocks so that it blends nicely with the content in terms of the font size, the color of the border, background and etc. Configure the ad to make it look less like an advertisement and studies have shown that this will result in more clicks.</p>
<p><strong> Summary</strong></p>
<p>You got nothing to lose by including AdSense in your blog or webpage. It is one of the easiest method to generate passive income. It is simple to use and manage. Displaying such ads on your webpage does not take much time and you don&#8217;t need much technical knowledge. Last but not least, the AdSense program will not slow your website loading and display.<br />

<p>If  you need to be on site or personally involve with every single gritty details of your business operation you will soon quickly burn yourself out. No one can be expert in everything. There is only so much you can do within 24 hours.</p>
<p>Robert Kiyosaki&#8217;s famous four quadrant of Rich Dad Poor Dad book highlighted the important of  owning and working on a  business rather than  in the business. There is nothing wrong being self employed like doctors, chefs and etc but you are trading your time for money.</p>
<p>You can work a lot more smarter, double your productivity, income and halve the amount of time  spend on work by getting others to do the bulk of the tasks. It might seem expensive to hire someone to get the job done however the return could be such that for every single dollar you invest in outsourcing you might get twice the amount back in profit.</p>
<p>In summary, outsourcing is one of the most efficient and simplest method  to convert one hour into ten and to get ten times as much achieved inside of that hour. Practically almost anything pertaining to your business can be farm out.  As the saying goes, space we can recover, time never.</p>
<p>You have to think and work like a CEO and  focus your time in mid and long term business strategy. Leave the detail and low level task executions to outsourcers which can do a better job for considerable less amount money.</p>

<p>You can have a good strategy and it will come to naught if you apply the wrong tactic. Likewise, a good tactic without any proper strategy is like driving a car without knowing where your ultimate destination is.</p>
<p>In a nutshell most business begins with a mission statement.  Huge corporations normally have one of which the objective is to serve as a motto, reference or for publicity purpose. It is not necessary for a home based  online business to have one however I would recommend you to do so. A high level description of what your business stands is also important from branding perspectives.</p>
<p>Next you have to define the goal, follow by strategy and finally the tactic to get you there, to achieve what you want. A strategy is basically an outline, a battle plan, a framework or a blueprint on how you want to achieve a particular goal.  You can implement a particular strategy on one or more goal underpin  but not the other way round.</p>
<p>The tactic is the action, usually encompass the techniques that you need to take to actually realize and achieve your strategic outcome.  Below is an example which might give you a better perception of strategic versus tactical marketing: It applies to both online as well as offline business.</p>
<p><strong>Mission Statement:</strong> Dedicated to bringing the most cost effective home portable spa to every home in Singapore.<br />
<strong>Goal:  </strong>Target at least 50% of  housing development board (HDB) household to own a SG2000 hydro bubble portable spa by year 2012<br />
<strong>Strategy:</strong> Focus on township north of the island (Woodlands, Admiralty ). Target young working couples and homemakers.<br />
<strong>Tactics:</strong> Distribute flyer, cold calling and word of mouth recommendation.</p>

<p>One of the common mistake that many novice marketers made is that they focus too much of their efforts on tactical actions instead of the the strategy. Well I guess you couldn&#8217;t blame all those unfortunate newbie because they were been sold all sort of ideas pertaining to get rich quick overnight using single click push button mouse tactics, which of course are nothing but scams.</p>
<p>Both factors works hand in hand. It is important to define and underpin the former first before deciding on the appropriate techniques to execute.  Ideally you would want to stick to one particular technique but sometime circumstances may necessitate switching to a different tactic (not recommended unless you are a very experience marketer).</p>

<p>This post is about email swapping,  a very popular method that many Internet marketer used to grow their their online business.  It is every online business owner dream to have a huge subscriber list which they could sell products and services repeatedly and wherever they want.  There are some impacts and potential peak falls in regards to swapping of email list that you need to be aware of.<span id="more-8436"></span></p>
<p>Of  late I received many promotional sort of emails from people I don&#8217;t recalled signing up for. To make it less pleasant, some of these &#8216;spam mails&#8217; cannot be unsubscribed at all. I am not sure  if there is anything wrong with their auto-responder service which I doubt, a bad script installation or software issue. Who knows, it might just be that it is their intention to provide an  unsubscribe link which they jolly well knows  for a sure fact don&#8217;t work at all or perhaps they don&#8217;t even bother to test it!</p>
<p>How I know  and why do I suspect if all these useless digital flyer which landed in my inbox are probably due to swap email list campaigns conducted  by marketers that I subscribed to? You see, most of these notification mails got through the SPAM filter and the products or services promoted by these unwelcome senders are actually quite targeted materials and relevant to those niche markets of my preferences.</p>
<p>There is not nothing wrong with trying to reach and leverage on  someone&#8217;s else list so as to build up a customer base. However, I think it is important for those involve using such strategy to realize that they are disclosing subscriber contacts to another marketer without due consent.</p>
<p>Think about this for a minute, someone signed up to your newsletter or opt in to your list with the knowledge and understanding that you will keep their contacts confidential and that he or she will only receive promotion stuffs from you in regards to what you signed up for.</p>
<p>Your subscribers will be irritated if you provide other marketers the opportunity to blast your list with all sort of low quality none targeted promotional materials and SPAM junk mails. Furthermore, you also risk exchanging the targeted list that you take months or even years to build with someone else unresponsive and low quality leads.</p>
<p>Your subscribers might become frustrated and unsubscribe not just those junk adverts alerts from marketers you exchange contact with, but also probably including yours as well. So do think twice before you consider this tactic. At the very least perhaps have the courtesy to inform your contacts about the swapping of email list.</p>
<p>There are many other ways to build a list such as providing an opt in contact in exchange for free quality information, product or service. No doubt email list swapping is a fast and quite effective method to increase your list but you need to do it with utmost caution. As the saying goes, the money is in the list, your subscribers are your most important assets so treat it with care.<br />

Here is excerpt from the email; &#8216;  People measure a blogger credibility and success through their site&#8217;s  page ranking (PR) and in this regards, you fail miserably.&#8217;<span id="more-8373"></span></p>
<p>That person further suggested I ought to engage third party SEO service and stop wasting time to blog on SEO related matters. Well, my dear reader whoever you are, thanks for your kind feedback, I am in no hurry to work my nose through to get my blog page ranking to improve, not at least in the near term.</p>
<p>By the way, I don&#8217;t just write SEO related topics, my area of interest is affiliate marketing and I must admit I am certainly no expert in any of these fields.  Nevertheless I felt quite honored that there are people who bothered to write something to me, albeit negative remarks which I think quite uncalled for and not to my liking though.</p>
<p>I suppose there are some who share the same thoughts as me that the return of investment (ROI) of any online business is not directly related to this criteria.  I fully agree that we should still pay attention to it and that it is still relevant today but one should not be too obsessed with it.</p>
<p>No doubt there is still some bearing in regards to this numerical value but do not be too anxious and concern if your website do not rank well nor should you overrate and get it over your head  if it does do well it in regards to your online business success.</p>
<p>Some people resort to Black or Grey hat techniques to boost their site position but the efforts rarely pay off.  Google is constantly revising and updating search algorithm so as to make it more inline with current user experience and expectations. What use to be an important metric is no longer the case because apart from it there are well over  two hundred other parameters (a.k.a signals ) that Google added as conditions to evaluate and compute in order to determine the quality score any webpage or site.</p>
<p>I strongly believe Google  &#8217;Panda&#8217;, &#8216;Penguin&#8217; and future algorithm updates would further erode and dilute the significance and influence of  page ranking in regards to search competition . It used to be that a site with this good metric is extremely important because it is used and referenced by many as an indication to estimate the dollar value of a business website.</p>
<p>No doubt, some Internet business involving CPA (Cost Per Action), JV (joint venture), flipping websites such as Flippa and many affiliate networks still make use of this criteria to evaluate and made business decisions.   It is just a matter of time such a requirement is drop as Google continues to refine its algorithm that place less emphasis on this signal.</p>

It makes more sense to focus your time and efforts on optimizing keywords you wish to rank and compete for instead of worrying about the overall Google page ranking.  Type the keyword or phrase of your choice into the search engine and what does Google returns?  List of URL with content which contains the keyword that you search for. Interestingly, did you notice that some of the URL that ranks highly for the relevant keywords has page ranking that is worst off than those on page 2 or even page 3 of the search engine result page ?</p>
<p>Focus on publishing quality content, build quality backlinks, reduce bounce rate, build leads, improve relevancy and before you realize it the PR  of your site will improve accordingly. A good site with say 4 or higher PR does not imply that web based business will be good and that it will earn the rights and guarantee to rake in high online income and good  profit, not all all.</p>
<p><strong>Should You Ignore Google Page Rank Completely?<br />
</strong>Established authority sites such as Wikipedia has good ranking thus you should not disregard this metric completely.  Avoid using techniques, tips and strategies that will cause your site to be penalize by Google.  In other words, give what Google wants, quality content to enhance user experience. Focus on key factors such as social media , article marketing, forum and blog guest posting to enhance your site quality, credibility and authority. This will eventually lead to improvement in terms of Google Index to your webpage as well as targeted search rank for keywords of your choice.</p>

<p>A lot of marketers set themselves up for failure, due to their own fault even before they start the business. If you wish to kill your Internet business and want to waste no time doing so, here are three ways to do it :</p>
<p><strong>Novice Mistake #1: (Try To Reinvent The Wheel) </strong><br />
An analogy for this is people going broke trying to reinvent the wheel, instead of simply getting in the car and stepping on the gas pedal.  Find a good mentor and follow a proven path to online business success so that it will accelerate and easily get you to your ultimate goal, that of financial freedom and out from the drudgery of  the job you hate. (Don&#8217;t reinvent the wheel when all you need to do is step on the gas!)</p>

</strong>By far this is one of the biggest mistake committed by most rookies.  Web based business is no different from brick and mortal business. You need to be committed, focus and give all our best to make it successful. You need to have a plan as well as underpin goals with clear timeline to meet.  If you treat it like a hobby then expect mediocre results. You need to have the right mindset and do not be misguided by those who sells you single push button or one mouse click get rich dream so to speak.</p>
