ABOUT THE ARTIST - meeK is an American poet, spoken word vocalist, motivational speaker, writer and photography artist. Her collaboration with Bassist Kirk Green and The Brass King resulted in the release of her debut album 'Egression' in October 2007, which was well received on both sides of the Atlantic. ABOUT THE ARTIST - Marketing consultant Marquita Thomas, founder of Out & About, a group for lesbians and bisexual women of color, is a longtime activist and founder of the Serafemme Queer Women of Color Music Festival. She's assisted in promoting events on a national level including Girls in the Night's Femme-nomen-al Weekend at Atlanta Pride and the Ebony Pyramid Black Gay and Lesbian Cruise to the Bahamas. For the past two years, she has produced multicultural women's events at Dinah Shore weekend and has recently joined the marketing/promotions team at the National Black Lesbian Conference. She recently received the LA Gay & Lesbian Center's L.A.C.E Award in Arts & Entertainment and the Pat Parker Arts Award from Christopher Street West.

ABOUT THE ARTIST - Debra Wilson is CEO of MOYO Entertainment, an Oakland-based production company. She also is the director and producer of Inside Blast, a news and entertainment show highlighting the LGBT community of color.

An award-winning filmmaker, Wilson’s most recent work Jumpin’ the Broom: The New Covenant premiered on SHOWTIME Networks Inc. and is part of the channel’s Black Filmmaker Showcase.

Wilson's latest film highlights Black lesbian and gay couples, who share personal and heartfelt stories that challenge levels of intimacy between two people. Their commitment redefines and honors love, family values, politics and religion in today's society. Best-selling author and educator Michael Eric Dyson is the film’s featured on-camera narrator.

In 2003, Wilson’s Butch Mystique documentary opened to critical acclaim at the San Francisco International Lesbian & Gay Film Festival. Her 30-minute film about butch identified African American women currently airs on MTV Logo and on Showtime. She also won the 2003 San Francisco International Lesbian & Gay Film Festival and the Showtime Black Filmmakers Showcase Award.

Wilson’s 2001 film NIA: A Gathering of Our Sisterhood received honorable mention from the Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame for producing her first short documentary, which made the festival rounds in New York, Atlanta and San Francisco.

A native of California, Wilson has worked in the film industry for 15 years in a variety of roles, including Talent Coordinator for news and entertainment where she recruited sports, weather and on-air personalities for CBS NEWS, FOX News and Disney as well as network affiliates. She also worked as Casting Assistant at Reuben Cannon and Associates in Los Angeles; where she worked on such projects as Mama Flora’s Family, and countless other Movies of the Week and television specials.

At Tam Communications as Associate Producer she produced several corporate training videos, sales and marketing videos, TV commercials, and Direct to Video projects.

Debra earned a B.A. degree in Television Film Production at Cal-State University Northridge. She is the programming director of the annual Oakland International Black Gay & Lesbian Film Festival. She also is the executive producer of Inside Blast, an online LGBT arts and entertainment news program.

ABOUT THE ARTIST - As an openly gay, HIV-positive Man of Color entering the ministry, Rodney McCoy has a unique, personal perspective that enriches his work both within and outside of the church. Over the course of twenty-two years, Rod has served in the capacity of HIV counselor, health educator, outreach worker, program director and consultant. He is currently an HIV Counselor with Whitman Walker Clinic of Northern Virginia; he provides HIV counseling and Health and Wellness education to inmates at the Arlington County Detention Facility. Rod is also the President/CEO of his new consultant business, and is involved in various community organizations.

He currently lives in Maryland, and loves racquetball, cooking, and travel.

ABOUT THE MINISTRY - Deacon Rodney McCoy, Jr. has been involved with the Unity Fellowship Church Movement for over fifteen years. A native New Yorker, Rod was an active member of the Unity Fellowship Church of New York from 1993 until he relocated to Washington, DC in 2003. Since his move, Rod went on to become equally active in Unity Fellowship Church of Washington, DC (UFCDC). Among his work at UFCDC, Rod is currently the Ministerial Liaison for the Usher Board, and the Secretary for the Men’s Ministry. He also co-coordinates UFCDC’s HIV/AIDS Ministry with Deacon Charles Tarver.

ABOUT "DON'T GO":

"Don't Go" is the intimate story of the lives and loves of a group of vibrant individuals living in an apartment complex in Los Angeles. These people struggle with the same issues we face every day: love, loss, change, and family. But rather than a static representation of our daily problems, this television series introduces us to new characters that may be our neighbors in real life but are rarely seen on our television screens.

ABOUT AMBER SHARP (creator/writer/director):
Amber Sharp began directing her daydreams at the age of five. Later as a graduate of Project Offstreet, a program for homeless youth, Amber's drive and determination led her to graduate from the Arts High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts despite being on her own since her junior year of high school.

While studying English and African American Studies in college, the budding writer-director decided to share her daydreams with the world by becoming a filmmaker. To master her craft, she enrolled and graduated from the USC School of Cinema. Amber's USC thesis film, Triple Minority, has been an audience favorite at numerous film festivals, including the 2006 Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles, 2006 London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival, and Frameline 30: San Francisco International Film Festival. The film was awarded the audience award of Best Female Short Film in the 2006 Long Island Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. The film recently premiered on MTV's LOGO cable channel and appears on the web as part of The Click List: Best In Short Films on www.logoonline.com. Wolfe video, the leading distributor of gay and lesbian film, will distribute Triple Minority as part of their 2007 Best of Girl Shorts compilation DVD.

Since graduating from USC, Amber has worked with such industry heavyweights as Patrick Ian Polk ("Noah's Arc"), Kasey Lemmons ("Caveman's Valentine"), Edmonds Entertainment, and Debbie Allen ("Fame"). As the principal of A.Sharp Productions, she is building on her industry experience as she enters pre-production of her original television pilot, "Don't Go."

ABOUT THE ARTIST - NHOJJ: Self-made producer Nhojj has drawn comparisons to Bob Marley, Prince, Marvin Gaye, Sade, Maxwell, Terence Trent D'Arby, Bobby McFerrin, Tracy Chapman and Stevie Wonder by media. And in 2006, peaked at the #2 position on both the Neo Soul and Healing & Easy Listening NY Myspace Indie Charts, #4 on the Ambient and Roots Music Charts, #5 and #6 on the Jazz and Nu-Jazz Charts respectively with over 50,000 plays. Dubbed "The Voice of Social Conscience" by writer Michael Ornadet of Logo Magazine, it is no wonder people everywhere are grooving and relaxing to this new sound.

Nhojj started singing as a child in Guyana; the native home of his parents, where he performed in churches, on radio programs and eventually for the president. When his father, a church minister moved his family to Trinidad, Nhojj continued to perform, touring the country. At 18, he moved to New York City where he eventually attended New York University earning a B.A. in Economics. With education out of the way, he could devote his time to his true passion - music.

His '03 sophomore album, "Someday Peace, Love and Freedom" is a reggae-inspired conversation on politics, religion and social injustice. Once again he received praise and top honors from online media sources, garnering the Outstanding Male Recording Nomination at the '04 Outmusic Awards and winning the Best Male Performance at the Fresh Fruit Festival.

In 04 Nhojj released an unplugged performance DVD "An Intimate Evening with Nhojj," filmed by Emmy nominated director Bill Cote and completed a 10-city College Tour. Other performances included opening for Def Jam poet Stacey Ann Chin, Motown Recording Artist Donnie, Pride Festivals in NY, CT, MD, DC, and NJ. Nhojj also performed at the CBGB Gallery, Joe's Pub, Nuyorican Poet's Cafe and Arlene's Grocery.

He also gave free concerts to support the causes and organizations near to his heart - Lifebeat's Hearts and Voices program, YWCA, Theaters Against War, the Hiroshima-Nagasaki Commemoration Service, 911 Concerts, the Powel Street Addiction Center and co-produced the "Underground to Peace and Unity Concert." Music from the "Underground to Peace and Unity Concert" received radio support from NPR stations around the USA as well as Public, College and Internet Radio around the world.

In '05 Nhojj recorded, "Coming Home" a tribute to the hymns, anthems and inspirational music that laid the foundation for him as a musician. In support of this project, he completed a five-month, 26-city, 41-church tour that took him to England, Canada, Jamaica, the Bahamas, Trinidad, Guyana and the U.S.A; and performed with Altino Concert Choral at The Avery Fischer Hall at Lincoln Center. The only original composition on the CD "A Song for Mother;" received honorable mention at the 13th Annual Billboard Song Contest.
