It's been an exciting year at the Myriad
Centre with some great shows and wonderful groups of people working and
playing together. We'll be posting a picture gallery for 2007 on the
website soon, so that everyone can reminisce.
Looking forward, 2008 promises to be an even more exciting year.
Kicking off the year with Mulan and Robin Hood and another adult musical
theatre workshop is just the start. We're also bringing in High School
Musical in the spring, and next summer will be our tenth anniversary
summer season during which we'll be remounting the Perth Academy of
Musical Theatre's inaugural season which took place back in 1998,
including Annie and Little Shop of Horrors!
Also, in 2008, we are planning a gala PAMT event -- a concert evening
that will include alumni performers from PAMT's first decade, including
those who have gone on to successful careers in the arts -- watch for
more details as the year unfolds.
And don't forget Orion Theatre Company's upcoming performances of "Cats"
in February, and "Godspell" in April.
We hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year!
Love from everyone at the Myriad Centre.

OPEN HOUSE AT THE MYRIAD CENTRE!!

Come on out to one of our Open Houses!

See first hand what's coming up at the Myriad!

Free popcorn, drinks and holiday cheer!

Register for PAMT Winter programs and purchase your choice "Cats" tickets!

Monday, December 10th, and Wednesday, December 12th, from 4:00 - 6:30 pm

Hope to see you there!

End of PAMT season frenzy!

Yes, we're at the end of another PAMT season and the Myriad Centre is hopping. We had the final performances of "King Arthur" last week, and it's "Anne of Avonlea" this week: Dec. 6, 7, 8. Next week its the Adult Musical Theatre workshop performance on the evening of the 14th. -- very busy indeed!

It's been a wonderful session and good times were had by all. But, but just because the proverbial curtain closes on the last performance for 2007 next week, doesn't mean that it will be quiet at the Centre - there are still "CATS" rehearsals and the odd film showing, and we have ongoing box office hours. So drop by the Centre to catch a show, or check us out at www.myriadcentre.com.

map to the Myriad Centre

The Myriad Centre's new weblog!

Here it is. The inaugural post. This is something new for the Myriad Centre for the Arts, and we will try to post as often as possible.

Heidi and Peter have just recently finished their stint with The Mikado, and are still basking in that wonderful community theatre experience. It was so much fun to work on a comedy (especially after Orion Theatre Company's last February production of Evita -- powerful show but not a lot of light moments:).

Of course, Heidi is now totally wrapped up in preparing for the upcoming Perth Academy of Musical Theatre workshop performances of Anne of Avonlea and King Arthur, not to mention the Adult Musical Theatre workshop final performance (see our website).

Also, rehearsals are now in full swing for Orion's February production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats. The cast is having a great time working on their cat walks, and cat talks, and cat voices.

It's a busy time of year for everyone of course, and for us in Perth (Ontario), while we are fortunate to have so many cultural events happening, its not always easy to take everything in (on The Mikado's first Saturday performance there were three other live performances going on in this little town of six thousand).

Wherever you are - see it live!
