The Minneapolis-based rock band, 3 Pill Morning kicks off its Midwest tour dates on Feb 5. The band is playing show dates in support of its recently released EP, Singles. The album was engineered by heavyweight production team Corey Lowery and Brian Virtue (Chevelle, Deftones, Sevendust). The band is currently working on its third album with the same team.

SoundExchange and MySpace to Identify and Register Thousands of Artists with Unclaimed Royalties

In a surprise announcement today at MIDEM, SoundExchange, the non-profit performance rights organization charged with the task of collecting and distributing digital performance royalties, and MySpace unveiled a partnership to identify and register thousands of artists and indie labels with unclaimed digital royalties.

Jam Session 2.0 virtual collaboration video

We put together a virtual "jam session" with musicians from all over the world! Music was inspired by Galt MacDermot's amazing "Coffee Cold". Handsome Boy Modeling School (Prince Paul and Dan the Automator ) flipped that song with J-Live and Roisin Murphy from Moloko and called it "The Truth".

Before approaching a club about getting your band a gig, there are several things that must be taken into consideration, the most important being the appropriateness of your band to play that particular venue. Trying to book your metal band or your hip-hop group at the popular indie venue doesn't do you or the venue any good. Make sure the music you play fits, at least vaguely, with the music that is being featured regularly at the club.
