Mysterious Societies is about those mysteries, and the organizations that maintain the secrets or look for the truth. For centuries man has been led to believe what some would have us believe, while only a few know the real truth. We don't purport to have the answers but we want to give you some of the questions.....

<atom10:link xmlns:atom10="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom" rel="self" type="application/rss+xml" href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/MysteriousSocieties" />
<atom10:link xmlns:atom10="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom" rel="hub" href="http://pubsubhubbub.appspot.com/" />

UFO'S Why The Cover-Up

If you are like me, and in some respects I think you are, you are interested, or perhaps just a little curious about Unidentified Flying Objects, or UFO's as we call them.

In addition, I have always believed that there are people, people in high places, who know about UFO's as well and are controlling what we know about them.

Sure they let out a little bit once and awhile, just enough to see if we bite, like a fisherman slowly playing out his fishing line to see if there is a trout in the pool. Our media, government agencies and yes, perhaps even the mysterious albeit unproven "illuminati" probably are involved. And most certainly, big business, notably energy and communications big business, are involved.

There have been too many sightings, too many cover-ups and too many instances where UFO sightings or encounters have been played off as "weather balloons" or "meteorites".

You'd have to be an idiot of the major kind to look up at the sky at night and not at least wonder, if not fully believe there is life up there of some sort. You'd also have to be a complete bozo to believe that anyone who tells you different knows that for sure. Let's face it, someone who says that there is no life 'out there' has no more proof than someone who says they saw a UFO.

I believe that over the next few years you will learn more about UFO's, more about what the governments know and perhaps even come to grips with the fact that there have been contacts made and maybe they are being continually made. However, like wind and solar power, until big industry and government figure out how to make money from it, it will be slow coming to a store near you.

On the other hand, the internet has done wonders for much, and this is no different. Thanks to the web it is no longer easy for governments and big business and media corps to control what we see, what we write and what we read.

Anyway...don't take my word for it. I want you to read this post UFO"s Why The Cover-Up Why The Disclosure from Collective Evolution. It is well worth the read.
Yup, they would tell us that we was all there was, end of story.

As for the possibility of aliens, unidentified flying objects? All just stories, fiction, completely made up, like a fairy tale.

But now...well it is getting difficult to hide the truth. There is a lot more "out there" than we can even imagine. The idea that there is no life anywhere else? Well that is just stupid, narrow thinking. Of course there is....and even if there isn't, the real truth is we have no idea one way or another. The only thing is, there is so much out there, it seems very unlikely that we are alone.

Here's a short video that is intended more as a positive message than a lesson in the possibility of extra-terestrial life. However it illustrates the mere stupidity of us believing we are all there is to it.

America has had it's share of conspiracies over the years, and no place do those conspiracies turn up more often than in politics. Assassinations, particularly of political leaders often appear to be random acts of crazy people, even manical people who "snap" and decide to attempt an assassination on a high ranking person, typically a politician, often a president.

For example, do you know why John Wilkes Booth shot President Lincoln? Do you know that he didn't act alone, that he had the support of others?

It seems to me that seemingly random acts, such as the assassination of Lincoln, and of others, like John F Kennedy, are anything but random. In fact they are calculated, planned, and well organized events.

Have a read of Killing Lincoln by Bill O'Reilly and see why that particular assassination was the one that shocked a nation and changed America forever.

Anniversary of The Assassination of President John F Kennedy

This is the 48th anniversary of the killing of United States President, John F Kennedy. Perhaps one proof positive of the kind of secrets and conspiracies that happen within the realm of world power, politics and control of the people for the aims of a few.

It has always been my opinion that Kennedy was killed, or his murder arranged, by people other than the shooter, Lee Harvey Oswald, if he even really was the shooter. The trigger was pulled by others far removed from the public book depository where Oswald is said to have taken aim and shot Kennedy.

In 1979 the United States House Select Committee on Assassinations concluded that President John F. Kennedy was probably assassinated as a result of a conspiracy. (Wilkipedia) That was an interesting finding on their behalf, although it doesn't appear to have gone much further than to come to that conclusion.

Although I write about secret societies, and underground covert organizations that control the world, I have no idea if it was anything quite as deep as that which led to Kennedy's assassination.

Perhaps the organization was much smaller, a group of people with similiar goals who managed to orchestrate what was a well kept secret and a well planned murder and manipulation of the police and the media.

When you read the reports, watch the videos, listen to the accounts of the shooting, you realize that there were too many things going on that made no sense when looked at in the cold light of day.

I think the actions of Jack Ruby, shooting Oswald after the fact, is the most telling of all. That, no matter who spins it, makes no sense at all, unless, he was forced, coerced to do it, or part of a group who planned it from the beginning.

However it happened, whomever they were, it was not that Oswald acting alone.....

The "official version" and the "real version" and they are often different, quite different.

Such is the case of the assault and subsequent killing of Osama bin Laden. Apparently the version the White House has given us is a little different than the version provided by a former Navy SEAL.

The book, SEAL Target Geronimo: The Inside Story of the Mission to Kill Osama bin Laden
written by Chuck Pfarrer, tells a story that claims bin Laden
was killed within 90 seconds of the SEAL's arrival in the Pakistan compound where bin Laden lived.

Pfarrer, a former Navy SEAL had the inside track with the SEALs that were on the raid, and he spoke to them, got their story and put it into this book. Here are the actual accounts of the raid on bin Laden from the guys who were there.

According to Pfarrer, the story released in the media from the White House has a political spin to it, and was "fictional". He also says that President Obama's quick media release was politically charged and ruined any chances of using the information garnered in the raid.

For their side of the story, the U.S. Special Operations Command says the book is not true and information wrong, in fact, U.S. Special Operations Command spokesman Col. Tim Nye said, "This is a fabrication".

To be clear, the author Chuck Pfarrer was not present in the attack, but says he spoke to the SEALs who were, both on the ground and in the air.

Personally, I have no idea who is right or wrong. I am sure that the "official" story was spin-doctored to some extent because nothing that comes from the government, any government has gone through the spin-doctor-media-relations-public-relations-etc-etc guys and girls before it gets announced. So there may be some things that are not exactly how they happened. On the other hand, in an exciting, stress filled event such as that one, stuff happens and people remember some things differently.

Advent of Deception

Here is an interesting site relating to 2012 and the end of time scenarios. Whether or not you believe in the ancient Mayan calendar this has a connection of sorts. Well, it gives you another perspective to think about.

Is 2012 the end of time or is it the end of an era and the planned date for a new world order? Are we being manipulated? Have we always been manipulated? Are world powers, the Illuminati maybe, deceiving us and have they been deceiving us for centuries, perhaps since the beginning of time?

Have a look, take it for what it's worth.....

It's apparently something that came to light from a 'whistle blower' who thought this was something that should be brought to light. U.S. Senators are wound up about this one......
And here we are, you and I still not too much further ahead than we were 10 years ago in terms of understanding the events of that day, the events leading up to that day and the events following that day.

Maybe that is just as well. Maybe there is nothing other than what it was, an attack by Muslim Extremists hell bent on destroying what they could of the world. Nothing more, nothing less.

Perhaps all those unanswered questions are just that, unanswered questions. Maybe the theories regarding who knew what when, are only theories, unproven, and destined to remain unproven at least in our generation and maybe for generations to follow.

We know that there were things about 9/11 that we, the general public did not know. Like any crime, the investigators never show all their cards, never give away everything they know or knew. They release what they need to release without jeopardizing any further and future investigations.

But there is more to 9/11 than the actual events of 9/11, or at least there might be more to 9/11 in terms of government cover-ups and conspiracies. There are folks like you and me
who will always believe we do not know the full story and probably never will. We will always wonder about who knew what, who was behind what and the reasons why some things happened as they did.

The Iraq /Saddam Hussain war is one of those things. Was it necessary as a measure in terms of the war on terror, or did the powers that be at the time see an opportunity in the making and go after it towards their own ends?

How and why could someone as recognizable as Usama Bin Laden manage to evade capture for years, and how did he come to be safely living in Pakistan and for how long? Who knew he was there and were they protecting him? Or did they give him up?

Did the Americans leave bin laden alone for years in order to continue their "war on terror" which allowed them and their allies to continue to fight and shake up the Muslim world, a place where a good deal of the world's oil supplies, supplies necessary to the West, are found? I said here before, finding bin Laden before it was time would have thrown a monkey wrench in any plans to take control of the Middle East, or at least parts of the Middle East. As long as he existed as a threat, as long as he was free and apparently a threat to the West, they had a good reason to continue with the fight, and to continue moving into countries like Afghanistan and Iraq.

I have never been convinced that anything I mentioned above is true, but conversely, I am not ready and willing to state it is untrue. I believe that there exists a strong possibility that there were things going on behind the scenes. Perhaps those things were buried deep beneath layers and layers of secrecy and buracracy, and perhaps no one knew the full story, and without the full story, well, all you have are tidbits, little pieces of what might be huge puzzle, with so many interlocking, hidden pieces. What you have left is supposition, and theories....conspiracy theories.....

What do you think? 10 years later, do you still believe we were not told the truth about 9/11 ? Do you think we ever will be told the truth?

And Still Here.....

Well here we are...still here. It looks like the end of the world rapture scenario predicted by Harold Camping is way off the mark. I'm not unhappy about that, just to be clear.

I don't subscribe to the notions of folks who think they can predict something like the end of the world. It's been tried by many so called experts like Camping before, and they have been wrong obviously.

Don't you think that if the end was really coming that there would be people among us that really knew? I'm talking about those in high political office, religious leaders and so forth. Not to mention those who are members of the secret groups featured here. Well that is if they really do have secrets or know things that we don't.

Perhaps they actually don't know, instead they just know what the Bible says, that no man shall know the time (of the end of the world)

Considering the devestating earthquakes, tornados and weather changes, coupled with wars and fighting in the Middle East etc, to think that they are signs of the coming apocolypse. However I think we also need to keep it in perspective. Reporting of these events has gotten a lot more intense in the past few years, mostly because of increased media, be that television, radio, internet, etc. We not only hear about a tornado in Oklahoma for instance, we see it in real time. Not only that, there are more people in some of these areas, resulting in more damage, more loss of life, and destruction of manmade things, like buildings, cars, trucks etc.

Weather events have been happening forever, we just hear more about them now. But that allows those who want to cash in on the news to make predictions they say are supported by the intense weather for example.

I have to believe that when and if the end really comes, we won't know until it does....and even then, will we believe it?

The End of the World Consider Their Agenda

Too funny...apparently Harold Camping the guy who predicted the end of the world was scheduled for this past weekend, May 21, 2011 has made an error in calculations. He's now given us another 5 months to get our affairs in order, as he changed his prediction for the upcoming Rapture to October 21, 2011.

Honestly I don't know how these folks get the attention they get, although I have to admit I am guilty of giving them some publicity by even mentioning it here on Mysterious Societies

Camping, who is 89 years old, I think I mistakenly reported earlier that he was deceased, hid in a motel for a day or two when his prediction turned out to be incorrect. But he's back, and it sounds like he's been given another 5 months to get his message out to the rest of us that the end is nigh, the jig is up...

What concerns me about this stuff is that there are folks who believe it. There are folks who listen to the ideas of folks like Camping and unfortunately change their lives because of him, and not necessarily for the better. What about the person who gives away all their possessions expecting the end of the world is here. Or the person who becomes dispondent or ill, depressed, scared, because of the predictions of people who don't know anymore about this stuff than you and I.

I think the media, television, print, online, and yes even bloggers need to assume some responsibility for how much air time we give people like Camping. His predictions were reported widely across the media, all types of media, mainstream media included, although much of it was reported rather tongue in cheek. That's fine, as long as the recipients of the message understood it was "tongue in cheek"

It's time we stopped believing whatever crap we are told. Think about the poor fools who believe they will be met by 100 virgins in Heaven as soon as they blow themselves up in a crowded city center on behalf of some terrorist group. They are unfortunates who believe the words of someone else, who despite logic, actually presume to defy logic and do whatever bidding their religious masters ask them to do.

Religion has power. Let's face it, and it always has. Down through history, despite the good that organized religion has done, and continues to do, it has been responsible for doing much bad as well. Religious persecutions, the dark ages, the control of Kings by Popes, the control of people by organized religions.

It's frightening to believe that humans can be led to believe whatever someone wants them to believe provided that person has nothing more than charisma and excellent oratory ability. I think that describes someone like Adolf Hitler very well. His charisma and speeches led otherwise intelligent normal everyday people to do things to others that were pure evil, and follow a madman into Hell.

Now I am not comparing Harold Camping to Hitler. But I am saying that you, we, people in general, need to take these things with a grain of salt, and think for ourselves, not think what someone else wants you to think.

It pays to always consider the agendas of other people. Particulary people who are trying to get you to do their bidding, agree with their thoughts. The same applies to anyone offering to do something for you for nothing...there is always something. Consider their agenda.

Besides, if the end of the world really was here, it's unlikely you can do anything about it anyway.

We're Still Here

Well....there seems to be a problem. It's two days past the end of the world as we know it...the predicted "Rapture" and....well....it seems I am still here. What's more, so is everyone else I know. That means that if the predictions that the past Saturday May 28, 2011 was the first day of the beginning of the end, it sounds like none of my friends were chosen ones.

Yup, the predictions of The E Bible Fellowship Website seem to be a miss rather than a hit. It doesn't seem like they hit the right date, if there is such a thing as the right date when it comes to predicting the end of time.

So it's pretty much a flop. We're not the chosen ones, at least not this time, but take heart my friends, I am sure that there will be another date predicted, and we can only hope that we'll get picked.

End of Time Predictions Ramblings

The recent prediction, based on the writing of Harold Camping, concerning The End of Days-The Rapture has at least got me thinking.

As you know, Camping predicted that May 21, 2011 would be the beginning of the end, The Rapture....the chosen ones will ascend to Heaven while the rest of us will remain here to suffer for five months until the actual end comes on October 21, 2011.

That means that big things are going to start happening tomorrow folks...some of you are going to disappear
while the rest of us stay behind. It gets you thinking doesn't it?

I am not sure what to think, other than I am not crazy enough to either agree or disagree with the prediction, given that we'll have an idea of whether or not it's right as early as tomorrow. If it's right, well, all heck is going to break out. If not tomorrow, well that's the thing....

Predictions of this nature make people quite wealthy if they get enough air time and therefore followers who donate money to the cause etc. It's a great way to sell books, promote radio and television shows, etc. The thing is, what happens when these predictions turn out to be....dare I say it...wrong. It doesn't do much for the cause, nor does it do anything for future predictions. It's a case of the "boy who cried wolf"

So why do it? Why make predictions on things like the date for the end of the world? Personally I think it comes down to money. Sorry to say, but it's a big financial venture. The secret is to predict something far down the road, so you get to promote your idea for a long time, garner followers to your idea and donations in the form of money. If the end of the world comes when you predicted, well...so much the better, but if it doesn't, well you've made some money along the way, and probably had a good life.

But at the same time you've done some damage to religion, or to religious thinking, because by being wrong, you forment the idea that Biblical prophecy is bunk.

Non-believers will use your incorrect predictions for their purposes, while believers are left to scramble and come up with plausible reasons why you were off on your calculations.

In the meantime, predictions like this can cause untold problems for some folks, especially those that are vunerable to such ideas. What about the folks who become despondent, or upset believing the end is here? This is the kind of stuff that could cause people who are susceptible to believing it, to do things they shouldn't.

Camping was wrong in his first prediction that called for the end of time in the 1990's, but undaunted, he and his followers just adjusted the date and chalked the error up to some "confusion"

Yup...confusion can be the reason for a lot of mistakes. So can confusion and panic started by people cashing in on predictions and prophesies that are untrue or incorrect. I am not saying that these folks are deliberately making stuff up, but they are incorrect. No matter that the Bible, the same book used to base their predictions says quite clearly that no man will know when the end comes. That's something they overlook or don't bother to mention, because it would interfere with their prediction.

But here's the thing. We here at Mysterious Societies often discuss Masonic things, as well as other mysterious groups, ideas and what some call conspiracies. Have a look around. What are those members of such groups, who we think have some sort of special knowledge doing? If the end is coming tomorrow, wouldn't it be possible that they would know that? And if they did, would they act differently? Do anything different? Or are they already prepared and just waiting patiently?

So far I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe that they are doing anything special to prepare. On the other hand, I have no special knowledge of what groups might be doing behind the scenes, so.....

Besides the above, what does it matter anyway? If the end comes, I doubt very much that there is anything any of us can do about it, so why spend time trying? I suppose if you are a survivalist you might want to check on your supplies of water and dried food, and make sure the underground bunker is clean in case you have visitors.

The older I get, I have to admit, I am less inclined to dismiss Biblical ideas, and more cognizant that there are some things we just don't understand, or cannot answer, with science or anything else for that matter. There are mysteries of life and those mysteries are not to be solved anytime soon. But, I also figure that we cannot solve the mysteries because we really don't have all the clues. Religious figures, Kings, world leaders, historians, chroniclers, since time began, have twisted the story to their own ends for so long, getting to the truth....well good luck with that.....

In the meantime I gotta go. I am preparing a landing pad for the spaceships that I think are going to land in the backyard tomorrow.

UPDATE: If the end of the world is coming Saturday, the Jehova Witness's don't know about it. They just put a flyer in my door inviting me to a seminar on the end of the world....the seminar is in June......

End Of Days May 21, 2011 Harold Camping The Rapture

Well if the end of the world predictions are true, this might be the last post of Mysterious Societies and for that matter, all blogs......

According to The E Bible Fellowship Website this Saturday May 21, 2011 is the official start date of the end of time. The website explains that this is all part of an extensive Biblical "calendar" that has identified history as we know it, and also what is to come....apparently starting Saturday. Yes, according to
Family Radio Worldwide, an independent Christian ministry their leader, Harold Camping, has calculated the May 21st date based on his reading of the Bible. He's mapped out the dates and the messages contained in Genesis, I think particularly chapters 5 and 7 and has come to the conclusions that the end is not only nigh, it's here!!

"2011 AD—On May 21st, Judgment Day will begin and the rapture (the taking up into heaven of God’s elect people) will occur at the end of the 23-year great tribulation. On October 21st, the world will be destroyed by fire (7000 years from the flood; 13,023 years from creation)."

It's actually kind of scary stuff. I am far from a scholar and far from knowing anything about this stuff, other than reading what I would consider to be less than the minimum to really understand the situation. However, it sound like God's Elect people will be going to Heaven, starting Saturday and those of us left behind, well we are going to burn up on October 21st.

According to ABC News, Harold Camping took a stab at predicting the date once before, calling for the End of Days to be Sept. 6, 1994. That error has been attributed to some miscalculations of the calendar.

I dunno, might be a good time to start praying, or perhaps buy a new vehicle with all the options, just make sure you do one of the no money down deals and pay for it over time....you never know your luck. On the other hand, I can't help think you just might end up having to pay it all off if the end of time doesn't happen accroording to Harold Campings predictions.

So that's it....might be the last post. Kind of sad, I was enjoying this job. If I'm not back next week and you are still here....sucks to be you.

Is Osama Bin Laden Dead?

Well...it seems I am not the only one wondering about the validity of the Osama Bin Laden captured and killed story. It's becoming a teensy weensy bit of an issue as more and more folks are starting to question the story, which, as I mentioned in an earlier post, reads like the script to a Hollywood movie.

It's no wonder folks are questioning things. The story does seem to be a little bizarre. The whole story of washing his body, preparing him for burial and disposing of the body at sea, after doing DNA tests to prove it was really him they had captured and killed.

I think it's worthy of some thought and careful consideration. We need to look at what the news of his capture and death means. Who benefits? Who doesn't? Who benefits from saying he is dead? Why was his body dropped into the ocean so quickly? Was he really captured? Was he already killed many years ago, but kept alive in fiction in order to continue the war against terror and provide an excuse to have troops in foreign countries?

Personally, I think he is dead. There wouldn't be any point to lie about it. Just imagine the upheaval if he turned up alive some time down the road. That couldn't happen. But....I am open to the idea that he was already dead, perhaps killed several years ago, and kept "alive" for government reasons. I think that is a possibility. It would be very good from a spin doctor perspective to control when and how bin Laden was killed. In politics, world domination, and new world orders...timing is everything......

Ahhh....conspiracies....conspiracy theories....I know you and I are going to keep an eye on this story. Somehow I don't think it's over yet........

December 21, 2012 - Mayan Calendar

In my previous post, I mentioned the Mayan Calendar and that it might be time for us to put the terrorists on the back burner for awhile and start thinking about the 2012 Mayan calendar that could possibly be predicting the end of the world in December 2012.....it's possible.

This is a very interesting take on the 2012 prophecy. I think it is important to note that the prophecy is also founded in science, or at least there are scientific principles and theories that can be said to support the Mayan Calendar and the predictions of big things happening in December 21, 2012.

It won't escape notice by those of us familiar with the esoteric and the unexplained that this date coincides with a very important date to ancient peoples, the Winter Solstice. There are things that happen in the universe associated with the solstice that may very well have dramatic implications for those of us on Earth.

It's possible, although I admit, I am not yet fully convinced, that we are seeing the start of some of these prophecies with
the increased flooding, hurricanes and other extreme weather events occuring now in many parts of the worl and generally attributed to global warming and climate change.

So...what do you think, here is part 2 of the series.

Well now that we started this, might as well keep going, here is part 3 of the Mayan Calendar

And more, this is part 4......

Here is part 5....it's not all doom and gloom......

Taken By The Greys

With Osama bin Laden out of the picture and the rest of his cronies busy for the time being scratching their heads, noses and asses, and wondering, "How the Hell did that happen?" We can stop thinking about terrorists and their antics for a short time and start to worry about other "stuff"

Considering we are already 5 months into 2011, I think it's time we turn our minds to the next big thing which might very well be the 2012 Prophecy. You all know the story, the ancient Mayan peoples, a now extinct race, created a calendar that ends in December 2012, convincing many folks that 2012 is the end of the world date. It could also mean they ran out of chisels or just got bored with it, or.....perhaps they were a humerous bunch of fellows and figured it would be kind of funny to end the calendar in 2012 for future generations to have material for "end of the world" blogs and websites.

Perhaps...the 2012 theories are numerous
and good luck sorting any of them out, and believe me, it will likely get worse before it gets better the closer we come to 2012.

Here's a video relating to 2012 prophecy. This is from Todd, author of the blog, Todd is from Manitoba Canada and claims, in his own words:

"I have been awakened for a lifetime. I have had close encounters with UFOs/alien crafts many times. I have been taken.. I now search for the full truth to why we are being lied to about this."

As he mentioned, Todd says he has been taken by aliens on occasion and has been given some knowledge about the coming times. In his words, his experiences being abducted by the "greys" or "aliens" has led him to believe:

"We all will be a part of "The largest and most important event in the history of Mankind on Earth". "It will involve man and ET"

Todd also has a blog website, it's called Taken By The Greys

Todd has been featured on a radio show, "Sightings" with Jeff Rense and Brian Vike.

Apparently the head jihadist has been living in Abottabad, Pakistan for several years, perhaps since 2009, maybe longer. It's unclear exactly how long, but it looks like he didn't just move in last week.

The neighborhood Welcome Wagon hadn't dropped in with a welcome basket recently.

And to make things even more suspicious, Abottabad is apparently a very military intense place, an important military area for Pakistan. There is a high military presence in the area and apparently you need special credentials to get in and out and around the area. That is the part that is really curious.....

The idea the number one most wanted man was living down the street is pretty intense and now embarrassing to officials in Pakistan whether they choose to admit it or not. For their part, the Pakistan Government has gone on something of an offensive, critizing the critics who claim they knew, threatening any further unauthorized action on behalf of foreign (American) action on their soil and generally acting quite affronted.

It's a good way to play it. In fact
it might be the only way to play it, turn things around to look offended and affronted, try to throw the light off what they knew or didn't and get everyone riled up about what the Americans did. I suppose it's the inspired work of a team of Pakistani Spin Doctors. I applaud their efforts, it is a valiant attempt to throw inquiring minds into a tizzie trying to sort out fact from fiction. I have used this method myself on several occasions and had mixed results.

To give Pakistan the benefit of some doubt, there is the old cliche of 'hiding in plain sight' meaning the hunted person hides in the least likely place anyone would look.

It's like a bank robber hiding in the bank, no one would think he would do it. I'm not a expert in American western history, but it seems to me infamous American bank and train robber, Jesse James did more or less the same thing, hiding in plain sight in Missouri during the 1860's and 1870's while he and his gang had rewards on their heads and posses searching for them in other places.

In hindsight it was becoming pretty unbelievable that Osama Bin Laden, reportedly suffering from kidney disease was able to hide in the rugged mountains between Afghanistan and Pakistan. It seems very possible and plausible that while the anti-terrorist military units were searching the caves and mountains, bin Laden was tucked away in his mansion in Abbotabad, or somewhere similar.

There is also a suggestion that maybe, just maybe the Pakistan officials did know about bin Laden, and they also knew about the impending raid on the compound by US SEALS and permitted the action, while publicly condemning and refuting any such prior knowledge.

Pakistan, like many Eastern countries is always in a precarious place. It is a highly Islamic country and surely has it's share of radicals etc. It might not have been in the best interests of the Pakistan government to admit they knew and agreed to the raid prior to it happening. We need to remember, that not everyone in Pakistan is in agreement with U.S. Foreign Policy and action. Pakistan could be thrown into a hell of an uproar should the militant Islamic folks take issue with the government.

Personally I always wondered if bin Laden had somehow managed to escape to the United States and was hiding somewhere in New York, but I guess I had that one wrong.

No matter what you may think of bin Laden, he played his cards like an Islamic Cool Hand Luke. He was living a quiet life with four or five wives in a large compound, mansion, fortress, prison sorta smack dab in the center of town. All the while controlling international terrorism and undoubtably planning his next move, choosing his next target and his next victims.

It's difficult for those of us here to imagine how someone so famous, so wanted, could live in such a fashion under the noses of Pakistan officials without someone noticing. It's also difficult to imagine why someone, perhaps someone outside the Pakistan military hadn't noticed things were kind of strange around the place and dropped a quarter to the U.S. which might have netted them a handsome $25 million dollar reward.

It's that point, and that alone, that makes me think that it is actually possible that no one really did know that was where Osama bin Laden was hiding. It seems so unlikely that if the wherabouts of bin Laden was common knowledge, someone would have seized an opportunity to become very wealthy very quickly.

It's too late now, the business is done. However the recent relevations are casting Pakistan is a less than nice light in terms of the fight against terrorism. Regardless of what anyone says, it leaves Pakistan in an unfavorable place in American minds.

Everyone is now wondering about motives and if perhaps American's trust in the Pakistan government is misplaced.

What do you think? Did Pakistan know about the raid before it happened? Were they hiding bin Laden knowingly?

Welcome To The Light

Frequent readers will notice that I have changed the background of Mysterious Societies from a black background to white. That is for two reasons, the obvious one, it makes it easier to read, and the less obvious reason, to symbolized "seeing the light."

I cannot help but feel optimistic about seeing the light since the capture and subsequent demise of Osama Bin Laden last week by the American SEAL team. A huge blow to terrorism, and a positive step, I call it a victory in the move to end the tyranny of terror that bin Laden has led for these past 10 or more years.

So is it over? I doubt it very much, but it is crippled, at least in the short term. That's the best we can hope for because there is always someone equally determined not far away, ready to step into the empty position and begin again. But when there are consequences, when it becomes clear that no matter how long it takes, terrorists will be found and their lives ended one way or the other, it has to make it a little less attractive job, except for the extreme crazy.

In this day and age, violence is not a way to achieve any goals, as violence only leads to more violence. The happiness of terrorist victory, such as blowing up a plane, is soon replaced by the violence and terror of living the rest of their lives being hunted by a relentless pursuer, one that will not rest until they are captured or killed. That cannot be a good way to go through life.

I wonder if that was on the mind of bin Laden as he lived in Pakistan or whereever he lived. It had to be there, the constant thought that the United States and it's Allies, the most powerful Nations in the world, were looking for him. When he went to sleep at night, did he dream of the towers falling? Or did he dream of his own death, which he had to know was inevitable. Slowly but surely his followers were being caught or killed around him, and his circle of friends would have been growing smaller. You can say he wouldn't have worried about that, but I think he would have, otherwise why wasn't he among the first to die for his cause?

He wasn't because bin Laden obviously valued his own life, not those of his followers who did his bidding. He obviously wasn't as convinced about the 100 virgins waiting on the other side as he would have his followers believe were waiting for them. Instead he struggled to avoid seeing the virgins and now, while it seems like his minions may have lived hidden in caves, he lived in relative comfort.

So, with that in mind, I decided that it was time that Mysterious Societies come out of the dark and into the light, and move forward, positive that the world is now a little better place than it was when Osama bin Laden was alive.

Sure there are still many mysteries, many unsolved murders, many unexplained events, but there is also some hope, an idea that right will overcome, and eventually the world will be a better place for everyone.

Welcome to the light.......

Pakistan Prime Minister Denies Incompetence Allegations

Pakistan didn't harbor Osama bin Laden knowingly....at least if you believe Pakistan's Prime Minister, Yusuf Raza Gilani who recently issued a statement defending his country's powerful intelligence agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

The Pakistani Prime Minister said that any allegations that suggest that the agency was incompetent or worked with al-Qaeda to protect bin Laden were "absurd."

That may or may not be true, or it may be true in the sense that as far as Pakistan's Prime Minister knows, the country did not harbour the terrorist "mastermind" as Osama bin Laden is often called. It is entirely possible that someone in his government knew,
perhaps many knew, but to be fair, it is also possible that they didn't. Let's face it, bin Laden managed to escape capture when you might as well say, the whole world was looking for him. He was obviously good at blending in, disappearing, or flying under the radar.

You don't get to be a leading terrorist like bin Laden without being very clever, and without having some help. We are kidding ourselves to think otherwise. He would have had some form of 'intel' to be sure, and it may have been very good information, from high places.

Add to that the incompetence factor, that is, that you can count on some folks making a mistake or just being incompetent once and awhile. That was demonstrated to some degree during 911 when there were clues and indicators that were overlooked or misunderstood prior to the attacks on the World Trade Centre towers. Was it incompetence on behalf of the spy agencies? I don't know, in fact I don't know if it was incompetence, bad luck, bad communications, whatever, stuff happens and sometimes there is nothing can be done.

Of course that works both ways, the hunters can be incompetent and the prey can be incompetent. Bin Laden had supporters. We know that, probably he had many of them. There is no doubt that many in the Middle East share his philosophy about the West, and for that matter, many in the West share his philosophy. Who knows, they could be in the Pakistan government, but they could also be in the American government, the British government, or any other of the myriad of governments and organizations that have been engaged in the hunt for Osama bin Laden. During WWII there were homegrown Nazi spies among the Allies, the same way that there were American spies imbedded among the Nazis.

The other thing we aren't being told, is how long the United States knew where bin Laden was living. Who knows for sure? His whereabouts may have been known longer than we are being told. It could be that they were watching him longer than they are telling us.

It's arguable that watching him, monitoring his communications etc, could have been worthwhile for gathering up his cohorts, finding out who was supporting and aiding him.

The attack and killing of bin Laden ended much hope of finding out much more information as his accomplices would most certainly go into hiding now.

But, on the other hand, leaving bin Laden, a man who had proven his ability to be a ghost time and time again by disappearing whenever his pursuers got close would be a potentially dangerous option to choose.

There is one more thing to consider.....and it is something that many of us don't like to consider, but it has to be considered. Capturing Osama bin Laden early in the game so to speak, may very well have ended the American's ability to keep going....let's face it, if bin Laden had been killed or captured right after 911 would it have been as easy to get Congressional approval to move into Afghanistan and Iraq?

As long as al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden remained free, they were a threat, a force to be reckoned with, and a reason to put troops on the ground. Once he was captured or killed, the water on the beans gets changed, and the reasons become less clear. Particularly following the Iraq fiasco, where no weapons of mass destruction were found and it became more difficult to explain why we needed money, supplies, equipment to send troops to fight. As long as bin Laden was free, we had a good reason, one that the public at large essentially believed in and understood.

That's the thing about espionage, international spy networks and the fight against terrorists. It's all secret work, it's not a GD book that everyone needs to know about. If they did, it wouldn't really be secret would it? There wouldn't be secret agents, spy agencies, undercover operations, special ops, etc etc....As difficult as it may seem in these days of mass media, internet news, and live coverage of bloody near everything, I think sometimes we have to let these organizations do their work, and let them keep the secrets they need to keep and trust that they are doing what is necessary.

Your thoughts?

Did the Americans know about bin Laden's hideout in Pakistan?

Did Pakistan know he was there? Does it matter now?

I am not sure, but I expect the person to take his place on the 10 most wanted list will be Ayman Al-Zawahiri a fellow terrorist who has been indicted for his alleged role in the August 7, 1998, bombings of the United States Embassies in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and Nairobi, Kenya.

In the world of international terrorism the players change but stay the same in some ways. I suspect
that there are others as important as Al-Zawahiri but he is still proudly commanding the highest bounty of $25 million, the same amount of reward money offered for Usama Bin Laden

There is big money to be made rounding these characters up. For instance, the United States is offering up to $25 million for information leading directly to the apprehension or conviction of Ayman Al-Zawahiri. That's a big price tag to have on your forehead.

Others on the current list of Most Wanted Terrorists include:

Fahd Mohammed Ahmed Al-Quso $5,000,000

Jamel Ahmed Mohammed Ali Al-Badawi $5,000,000

Mohammed Ali Hamadei $5,000,000

Ali Atwa $5,000,000

Hasan Izz-Al-Din $5,000,000

Abdullah Ahmed Abdullah $5,000,000

Adam Yahiye Gadahn - $1,000,000

Daniel Andreas San Diego $250,000

That is some serious money to round these guys up, kind of makes this "very rewarding work" pardon the pun....

Osama Bin Laden Attack Like a Movie Script

I'm sure we are only weeks away from a movie being released about the attack on Osama Bin Laden's (Usama bin Laden) hideout in Pakistan. This is the stuff of movies for sure. A team of Navy SEALs assaulting the terrorist leader's hideout in Pakistan using state of the art helicoptors, killing anyone that gets in the way of the assault, including Osama bin Laden, his son, one of his wives and ultimately bin Laden himself.

It's a movie script that Hollywood, or in this case, perhaps, Bollywood, is not going to let slip by I am sure. It has everything,
planning, drama, high tech weaponry, terrorism, suspense, even bunch of wives to make it kind of well....sexy.....maybe one quick scene can show the wives caught off guard in the bath or something....that always makes things interesting.

Adding to the movie script is the way the details of the assault on bin Laden are emerging, little by little we are hearing and reading script revisions as the writers trot out their latest versions to see if you find it plausible enough to believe.

Just look at this sampling of press releases and information about the raid:

"There were many other people who were armed ... in the compound," White House spokesman Jay Carney said Tuesday when asked if bin Laden was armed. "We expected a great deal of resistance and were met with a great deal of resistance."

"For most of the period there, there was a firefight," a senior defence official told Pentagon reporters in a briefing Monday.

White House counterterrorism adviser John Brennan originally said bin Laden took part in the shootout. However, later on, the administration said bin Laden wasn't armed but that there were guns in the room.

Now it turns out that perhaps only one person was armed.

Plans to attack the American Train system were uncovered in the raid.

Bin laden's wife lived in the house for 6 years. Not sure if bin laden lived there 6 years too.

The SEAL team was flown in by an elite Army Special Operations unit, known as the Night Stalkers that specialize in night flight operations. They are equipped with Black Hawk, Chinook and MH-6 Little Bird helicopters.

It's a little like a mystery novel writer showing his novel outline and sample chapters to his editors for their feedback and comments long before the novel is published and hits the racks in the bookstores.

How cool is that name, "Night Stalkers" ?? Wow, that might make a good name for the movie.....

There is even a conspiracy, government cover-up angle to the story, as the President and The White House release a little info at a time and President Obama has indicated he will give one interview on the subject of the raid and the capture, killing of bin laden, then he is going to be done with it.

Ya gotta like that. It means we will have an enthralling book to read and hopefully a block buster movie that we can all enjoy, hopefully in 3D. Who wouldn't go to see the movie where the most wanted man gets taken down in a nighttime raid by a cracker jack highly trained team of Navy SEALS ?

All that we have left to do is auditions for the actors....I know I will be going on opening night.

Do We Really Need To See The Osama Bin Laden Photos?

So what do you think? Is there something strange going on? Why doesn't President Obama release the photo's of Osama bin Laden and put the questions to rest?

I am fairly convinced that it's because the President and his advisors figure that the pics of Osama bin Laden might do nothing other than to inflame the Muslim extremist factions. Let's face it, there is probably some truth in that.

Of course the photo's might be
the proof that some folks are looking for that substantiates that the head terrorist is really and truly dead. But on the other hand, it's likely that conspiracy buffs (like me) will just turn it around and say that the photos are fakes.

It's kind of a lose-lose situation for President Obama and the U.S. Government and it's allies. Show the pics and risk more upheaval in the Muslim and terrorist world, not show the pics and leave a portion of society believing that bin Laden is still alive, and the story of Osama bin Laden's death is a fabrication.

There is no doubt that the events of bin laden's death will be fodder for thought, conspiracy theories, stories, and more for a long time to come. There are lot's of versions already circulating, like whether or not bin laden was armed when the SEALs killed him. I freely admit, I have questions about the circumstances surrounding his capture and death, but I think it's important to separate the questions from what is pure human curiosity. Not legitimate questions of whether or not the report is true, just banal human curiosity, nothing more. I really don't need to see the pictures of a dead man.

As far as I am concerned, it really doesn't matter if he was armed or not. It really doesn't matter if the government releases the pictures or not. In this particular instance, I believe what the United States government is telling me, that Osama Bin Laden is dead. Do I need to see the photo's of his corpse? No not really, because as I said, I am not sure they would end the conspiracy / cover-up speculation anyway.

I do have some questions, as I mentioned in an earlier post, and I will be listening to the President when he does his interview on CBS, but not because I don't believe the report of bin laden's capture and death. I am however, still interested in what the Pakistan government knew, when they knew it, and how long they allowed bin Laden to live in the country without telling anyone.

It's possible that they did tell the Americans, and that it has taken a bit of time to orchestrate the assault by the Navy SEALs, but somehow I doubt that. I know that the SEALs are ready to spring into action on pretty short notice and taking over a compound like the one where bin Laden was living, would be something that I am sure they had practiced for time and time again. So I doubt that much time passed before the Americans acted on the information once they found out where the terrorist was living.

As for the recent discussions in the media that are gently suggesting that there might have been something wrong with killing bin Laden as he was unarmed, I say fizzlesticks to that....the people in the World Trade Centre were unarmed, the people on the planes were unarmed, the families of those who died were unarmed....In that respect, I think shooting bin Laden was almost too good for him. My sadistic side would have preferred a more elaborate method....like strapping him to the front of a missle and sending it straight into a rock wall.....

It's an interesting situation. Pakistan is long been considered an ally to the Americans, at least on some level, yet they had a the most wanted man living in the neighborhood and apparently said nothing about it. On the other hand, had they given over the information, there is a good chance that it would have resulted in reprisals in Pakistan from bin Laden supporters and Muslim extremist factions, that may have put Pakistan in a difficult and dangerous situation.

While I am usually loathe to take anything of this nature at face value, I think it's time we closed the bin Laden chapter. He's dead, which shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. You don't orchestrate attacks of the magnitude of 911 against the United States and it's allies and walk away. Bin Laden signed his own death certificate when he and his organization took responsibility for the attacks on the World Tade Centre and the previous attacks against U.S. interests.

I'm sure even Osama Bin Laden knew that.

Something Isn't Right About The Death of Osama Bin Laden - Michael Savage

Why is it that when the United States Government does something, even something that sounds good, it kind of ends up sounding suspicious.....

Of course I am talking about the killing of Osama Bin Laden, a triumph in the war against terrorism.

But I think it's time that someone from the United States Government steps forward and explains a little more about the "raid" by the Navy Seals that resulted in bin Laden's capture and killing. The story has changed from the initial reports, and quite frankly, leaves the conspiracy theorists and anyone willing to think beyond the front page, with some questions.

They killed bin laden and then stuck his body on a helicopter, then dropped his body in the ocean?? OK, maybe he was starting to stink up the helicopter. A dead body, particularly that of a man who was living in caves....LMAO would probably start to stink pretty quick. But if that is true, all they have to do is say why they decided to drop his corpse in the sea.

The next thing is to explain why
Pakistan had the guy living "down the street" in a fortified palace, and didn't know??? Don't they do a census in Pakistan? I realize the delicate position of the United States when it comes to the Middle East, and to Pakistan in particular, but nonetheless, what is going on there?

If Pakistan truly is an ally of the West, perhaps they have some explaining to do, or is it that they are just playing both sides of the field. If they are, we should send them back to the other side, because allies like that are probably not very good allies in the long run.

The third thing is the photos of Osama Bin Laden that are to be released apparently. It's high time, if you ask me, that they release them and be done with it. I suppose there is something to be said for not inflaming things any more than they already are, but I think it is fair ball to release the photo's of the number one most wanted man upon his capture and death.

Conspiracy buffs, like yours truly, are not easily convinced of things. However I personally try to avoid quickly jumping for the conspiracy cover-up theories. I like to give the benefit of the doubt, and to hope that there are logical reasons why things happen like they happen. Even if they are not particularly logical, at least something plausible that I can kind of see happening in the excitement and aroused atmosphere of an event as wild as killing Osama bin Laden.

C'mon, tell us what happened, give us a reason:

*someone forgot to close the helicopter door and his body rolled out on a turn,
*he was starting to stink, so they dumped him,
*they were in such a hurry to get out of Pakistan they forgot the body behind,
*they shot him up so bad they couldn't get all the pieces in a bag.

Here's the first excerpt from Michael Savage's show, The Savage Nation, concerning the Osama Bin Laden takedown. This is part one, you can catch the other parts on YouTube.

The news reports coming in are rather sketchy, but it sounds like he was found in Pakistan, and his body is in the hands of the Americans.

It's been a long, long, hunt for bin laden, but finally it sounds like those involved in the hunt were finally successful.

It's time, we should all be thankful for this, and demonstrates the persistance of the United States and it's Allies that if you mess with them, they will track you down, however long it takes and at whatever cost......

Abducted By Aliens

It seems like you just never know....Sammy Hagar, front man for the band Van Halen in the 1980's has a new book and in it, he alludes to be abducted by aliens....yup, an alien abuction. His book is called, Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock and is mostly about his life as a rock-n-roller but apparently he also tells something about being abducted by aliens.....

Well if that's true, he wouldn't be the first person to make that claim. There have been hundreds, maybe thousands of people who have said they were abducted, taken aboard a spacecraft of some sort, studied, and then returned to their lives on earth. True? Who am I to say?

Ya just never know.....

You can read the story about Sammy Hagar's alien abduction, Here!
