Mysterious Societies is about those mysteries, and the organizations that maintain the secrets or look for the truth. For centuries man has been led to believe what some would have us believe, while only a few know the real truth. We don't purport to have the answers but we want to give you some of the questions.....

<atom10:link xmlns:atom10="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom" rel="self" type="application/rss+xml" href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/MysteriousSocieties" />
<atom10:link xmlns:atom10="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom" rel="hub" href="http://pubsubhubbub.appspot.com/" />

Rennes Le Chateau Tomb Discovery

The book, The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail by Henry Lincoln, Michael Baigent, and Richard Leigh, opened many doors to speculation and discovery of the area in the south of France known as Rennes le Chateau. The book also highlighted the mystery surrounding a priest in the area Abbé Bérenger Saunière (1852-1917) who became enormously wealthy and powerful for no apparent known reason....other than the possibility that he found something, probably through clues hidden within his church and the surrounding area, which in turn led him to discover something else, that resulted in his attaining much wealth and apparently giving him power, even over his own Church.

Treasure hunter, author and historian, Ben Hammott, investigated the Rennes le Chateau area, including the church where Saunière lived, and he too claims to have discovered something of vital importance, stemming from clues he uncovered in paintings within the church. These discoveries led to him finding a hidden tomb, a tomb that appears to contain relics that may include links to the Knight's Templar, who had spent much time in the Rennes le Chateau area.

Hammott's findings led to a book, The Lost Tomb of The Knight's Templar and to a movie, Bloodline and more.

Hammott has made some fascinating discoveries and his website contains pictures of the tomb he uncovered at Rennes le Chateau, as well as footage of the inside of the tomb, showing what appears to be a skeleton, among other treasures. This discovery could very well be the source of Abbé Bérenger Saunière's sudden rise to wealth and power, and indeed, something that the Church, could have wanted kept quiet. There is much mystery surrounding the Rennes Le Chateau area, including the theory that possibly it was the home of Mary Magdalene, and perhaps even Jesus, if you believe the speculation that he survived the cruxifiction. It could also add credence to the theories that an ancient bloodline, from the line of David, of which Jesus belonged, may very well have survived and continued, perhaps to this day.

This is amazing material, and Ben has posted lots of information on his website which includes some pictures taken of the inside of the tomb.
Much of this is contained within the idea of an "Illuminati" which could be described as a very secret organization of powerful people intent on taking control of the world, by controlling governments and religions and therefore anything and everything else.

The Illuminati, who some say was formed in the 1700's by a man named Adam Weishaupt, who is known as the founder of the Bavarian Order of the Illuminati. On the surface, Weishaupt does not appear to have been overly effective, and one could imagine that he was actually somewhat a minor figure in the grand scheme, which is quite possible. On the other hand, it could be the Weishaupt was more than a lesser player, or was only the 'public face' of an organization that ran far deeper than it looked on the surface.

However, at the end of the 1700's a well known scientist, John Robinson, who was a Professor of Natural Philosophy at Edinburgh University, an expert on mathematics and optics, and a contributor of merit to the third edition of the Encyclopaedia Britannica was releasing information through books and articles that would change, or at least 'enlighten' people's understanding of what the Illuminati were doing. The book that blew the lid off the secrets was entitled, Proofs Of A Conspiracy: Against All the Religions and Governments of Europe With this book, John Robinson created something that endures to this day, the idea of a vast Masonic-Illuminati conspiracy that was bent on controlling all the structure of civilization, including governments and religions......

There is an excellent article by Mike Jay posted at Brainwaving.com about Robinson and the The Birth of the Illuminati Conspiracy

What Is Buried On Oak Island ?

Living in Nova Scotia, it is no wonder I have an interest in the unexplained, and in the mysteries of the past, such as the Knight's Templars, the discovery of North America, and of course, The Oak Island Mystery. Nova Scotia figures predominately in many theories, the most recent of which are the Holy Grail stories, especially now that it seems very likely that Prince Henry Sinclair, a person connected to the Knight's Templar, was here, some 100 years before Columbus came to North America.

One of the most intriguing mysteries, one I grew up knowing something about, is the mystery of what, if anything is buried beneath Oak Island, in Mahone Bay on the south coast of Nova Scotia. During my formative years, the theory was pretty consistently said to be the location of a pirate treasure, hidden there by the privateer turned pirate, Captain William Kidd, or Captain Kidd, as he is best known. However, whatever is buried or hidden on Oak Island has thwarted searchers for two centuries, numerous fortunes have been lost instead of made, in the search for Oak Island Treasure.....in fact, some would argue that the treasure has been made by the persons supplying the equipment and supplies to those searching for buried treasure on Oak Island, as well as by the tourism that the treasure story creates. However, that does not take away from some of the findings, facts and theories of what is buried on Oak Island.

Not everyone who wonders about Oak Island is convinced that the treasure is buried pirate treasure, here are a few of the theories of what might be hidden on the tiny island:

The treasure of 18th century pirate, Captain Kidd. Some researchers claim that he frequented the area to hide from authorities, rest and repair his ships. Kidd apparently buried some of his treasure on an island in New York Harbour, which added credence to the idea that it may have been him who created the Oak Island treasure hideout.

There are other examiners of the Oak Island Mystery who believe the pit and tunnels actually are an elaborate mechanism to hide the original works of William Shakespeare, who, it is also speculated was really Sir Francis Bacon, writing under the penname of Shakespeare. This theory grew out of a piece of parchment said to have been found by one of the searchers.

Nova Scotia was at one point an important piece of real estate that was the scene of many struggles between the French and the British, who both had strongholds and forts here. There is a theory that Oak Island was created by the French to hide the crown jewels of France, a treasure that has been missing since the late 1700's. The French were established in a fortress in Louisburg on Cape Breton Island, they were frequently attacked, or under threat of attack from the British. It is theorized that the jewels were moved to Oak Island for safe keeping. This doesn't seem likely to me, for one thing, Oak Island is a farily long way from Louisburg, but......I dunno......the complexity of the tunnel system lends itself to the idea that someone with an advanced knowledge of engineering may have created the system. With that in mind, army engineers could have been involved.

There are treasure hunters who believe the treasure is not that of 1700's era pirates, but instead may be a holding place for Spanish seagoing peoples, bringing gold or silver home from the New World. In the same breath, it could have been a hiding place for any number of seagoing countries, moving treasure back and forth from the New World.

The theory that is gaining the most momentum of late is that the diggings are the work of the Knight's Templar, who escaped persecution Europe in the 1300's and came to the New World to hide and protect the "holy grail" which they are said to have had in their possession. This ties in to the idea that Scottish Prince Henry Sinclair came to Nova Scotia around 1398, using knowledge learned from his family ties to the Norse and his strong connection to the Knight's Templar. The Templar's found refuge in Scotland with Prince Henry's family after escaping Europe. This theory is enhanced by the farily overlooked castle ruins found at Green Oaks, a community close to Mahone Bay.

There are other theories, including that the Oak Island tunnels may have something to do with visitors from Outer Space, perhaps some kind of fueling or resting station for UFO's or perhaps some kind of ancient monument from early peoples. There are also arguments that the tunnels are merely 'sink holes' a natural occuring phenomenon, which have been made to seem like more than they really are. These other theories don't have the same support, in part because the evidence is weaker, as the treasure theories.

A recent theory, put forth by Oak Island researcher and Native American Keith Ranville has a new theory, one that is gaining some credence of late. In the last few years, Keith has turned his attention to deciphering the stone that was found in the pit, that was originally said to read, "forty feet below 2 million pounds are buried." What Keith has concluded is interesting and plausible, his findings may lead to a new search, on another nearby island. You can read what he discovered, and what he believes the stone inscription says Here and on Keith Ranville's website, Oak Island Treasure

Whatever is there, beneath Oak Island, may never be found, perhaps it is already gone, removed long ago by whomever put it there in the first place. That....is what makes this so interesting......

There are just so many mysteries, so many unexplained events, everything from conspiracy theories involving the government, assassinations, undercover, hidden secret agendas, and mysterious, secret organizations. Then there are the stories of unidentified flying objects, so many that they boggle the mind. Thanks in large part to the internet, we know more about UFO sightings than ever before....we also know more about conspiracy theories and government cover-ups. We know more about the so called "secret societies" like the Masonic Lodge, the Roscrucians, Skull and Bones, Priory de Sion, the Assassins, and more....so many more....perhaps too many more.....

It's become a thing with me...and that is how I can best describe it, "a thing" I sometimes go to bed so confused, while trying to sort out all I have learned from reading the information on websites and in books, and then trying to make sense of it all. You see, the thing is for me, the more I read and learn the more I realize that there appears to be a connection of sorts to many of these things. They all are inter-connected, entwined with each other. Taken individually that is less apparent, but once you know more, once you expand your horizons beyond one type of mystery or unexplained faction, you find yourself realizing the similarities and the connections.

Take the Masons and ancient Egyptian history....from there you can end up thinking about UFO's and from there you end up back with the Masons, and then you are on Oak Island, digging for some buried treasure, a treasure that may be linked to anything from pirates to Knights Templars to Masons, to Francis Bacon and Shakespeare and then back to Masons, from there you learn that so much of the U.S. government is based on Masonic doctrine, which in turn leads to conspiracies and governments, or at least persons in governments knowing more about some of these unexplained mysteries than they care to tell.

I now believe in much more than I ever did, which is saying a lot, because I always had some belief that some of this stuff was real. I believe that there are unidentified flying objects, and I believe that there are reports and information in the hands of a select few, that know of the very real existance of these things. I believe we have been and continue to be visited by entities from other worlds, and they have already been in contact with some. I believe that the answers to many of the world's greatest mysteries are there, before our eyes, but it may not be in our best interests, to know them. Or better put, it may not be in the best interest of others for us to know the secrets in their entirety. I don't think many do. These are things more complex, and yet probably so simple to understand, if you have an open mind.

I think to understand, or at least be able to consider these things, these mysteries of life, we need to forget much of what we have been told or taught, in school, and in church. That is not to say that religion doesn't have a place, I think it does, perhaps a big place. The problem stems from what we, (man, humankind) have done with that information. Ask yourself, how much religion has been changed, how much history has been fabricated and or changed, to suit the aims of a few, by using that information to control the masses. That is what is happening, and has been happening for as long as anyone knows.

The answers are there, we just cannot find them because the answers, the solutions, the understanding has become so convoluted, and I really believe confused or covered up, through the use of the magician's trick of misdirection, to make us look in the wrong place, while he does his 'trick' where we are not looking. I learned a long time ago that when watching a crowd, or watching a magician, the key to understanding is looking not at what he wants you to see, but what he doesn't. When all others are looking to the left, if you want to know what is really going on, you need to look to the right, or behind you....

This means that what is going on, what has been going on, for eons, is nothing more than a cheap magic trick, magnified a thousand fold, to 'misdirect' those of us who wonder what is really happening. I think that those who would have us 'misdirected' are probably a little more complex than your average magician, and instead of misdirection, probably use a little more solid technique, called "obfuscation" to keep us in the dark. Just look at some of the meanings for the word obfuscation, and it's variants:

Obfuscation: the concealment of intended meaning in communication, making communication confusing, intentionally ambiguous, and more difficult to interpret.

Obfuscatory: Tending to obfuscate; intended to conceal the truth by confusion

Obfuscate: To make dark; overshadow; To deliberately make more confusing in order to conceal the truth; To alter code while preserving its behavior but conceal its structure and intent.

Magicians use more than misdirection, although for many, physical misdirection forms the basis for many of their tricks, techniques to distract you from what he is really doing. But on a higher plane, there is another kind of misdirection, one that is much more subtle, much harder to see. It's called "psychological misdirection" In this case, the magician, or sorceror, or perhaps even a politician, essentially tells us how they do their tricks, making us believe we know how a trick is done. Once that happens, we are now pre-conditioned to see the answer or the solution, we watch for what we know to be the solution, to prove to ourselves that we know how a trick is done. We are given the false solution to distract us from the real solution....are ya with me? In our minds, we are now trying to apply what we think we know to the problem, which makes it easier to make the clues fit our solution....bear with me...I am getting confused myself....LOL....

Let's take the Oak Island Mystery for an example. The story talks about the discovery of a depression in the ground on an island, above which hangs an old block and tackle. The story is embellished to include pirates known to be in the area at one time. Our minds go to buried pirate treasure, even though we really don't know if that is probable or likely, because we are not told anymore about it, nor do we really know any more about it....the fact that the hole in the ground is so complex it defies current engineering, is left out of the story. Instead, we are convinced that whatever is in the ground was put there by pirates, a boatload of unsofisticated ruffians and thugs, hiding their stolen loot, and we don't bother to think beyond that, we are already convinced it is pirate treasure. From then on it becomes easier to convince us it is pirate treasure. Find an old pair of scissors and we believe they were used on a pirate ship, a piece of oak becomes a piece of a treasure chest.....We have been made victims of "psychological misdirection" We don't look much beyond what we have been led to believe.....that whatever is hidden on Oak Island was put there by pirates.....

Then, as time passes and the pirate buried treasure theory starts to weaken, we are fed more ideas, more possible solutions, all of which are made to sound credible on some level. Now we become victims of Obfuscation, the truth is hidden among so many theories and answers and becomes concealed by confusion....every answer seems right, but nothing is proven....instead it is all proven on some level, leading us again to believe what they want us to believe.

Remember how I began this long post? I was talking about linkages, and how one thing leads to another and another all of them seem linked, but we don't know how. Information is rampant, there is no shortage of it, about anything and everything. We are no longer easily fooled by misdirection, we are better educated, our reasoning ability has improved, we are onto the simple magic tricks that might have fooled our forebearers....so what do they do next....they obfuscate....release information, lots of it, in all kinds of venues and media, until it becomes too much, until we become confused, and the mystery now becomes something different. We almost forget about the mystery of the depression in the ground on Oak Island, and go off trying to understand how it links to aliens from other worlds, or Egyptians, old military workings, the manuscripts of Shakespeare, or Francis Bacon.....the Holy Grail, the Knight's Templar treasure....and on and on.....

The problem is, it has reached the point that it is all confused, those of us who study it become more confused.....the truth dear reader, has been obfuscated.......I think the real mystery, the real hidden question behind Oak Island, UFO's, Secret Societies and other mysteries, and what we really should be looking for in our quest for answers, is, "Who are they?"

Winston Churchill UFO Questions

Some time ago I wrote about one of Canada's past defense minister's Paul Hellyer, who has made and continues to make, statements alluding to UFO knowledge, specifically that governments have UFO knowledge. Hellyer suggested it (UFO technology) should be used to combat global warming.

Well it seems Paul Hellyer was not the only high ranking political figure with an interest in unidentified flying objects. Newly released, previously classified documents from Britain dating 1952 show that then Prime Minister Winston Churchill was interested as well. Churchill apparently asked his Secretary of State for Air, Lord Cherwell, for a briefing on UFO's. Churchill asked, "What does all this stuff about flying saucers amount to? What can it mean? What is the truth? Let me have a report at your convenience."

Of course, following the usual response regarding UFO's for the time, the reply Churchill received said that the alleged UFO sightings could be explained as optical illusions, mistaken identification of planes, birds, balloons, hoaxes and perhaps the overactive imagination of delusional people.

This information comes as a result of the Britain's Ministry of Defense and National Archives release of some 6000 pages of UFO documents covering sightings from 1994-2000 and obviously, as this one is 1952, it must include some other time frames as well. The release includes reports of Scotland's "Bonnybridge Triangle" in 1995 and 1997 and other reports of UFO sightings from staff at Scotland's Prestwick Airport in 1999, a close call that a British Airways plane had with a UFO in 1995, as well as reports from police of a UFO spotted over the North Sea.

Britain started releasing these files recently, and apparently there are lot's of them as the fifth instalment of document releases which is part of a three-year project between the Ministry of Defence and The National Archives......I wonder if this is all part of what I would describe as an attempt to develop some public 'preparedness' as governments try to find a way to tell the public about the existence of UFO's without causing a panic. Releasing information in stages, allowing people to gradually come to grips with the idea of visitors from other planets, may be what is behind these recent releases.

One of the reports included is from March 8, 1997, when several folks witnessed a triangular shaped UFO hovering over the home of former Home Secretary Michael Howard''s home in Kent . Enough people saw the object, that it generated government correspondence, newspaper reports and an RAF investigation.

According to the official response to the sighting, the Ministry of Defence said, "Although the Ministry of Defence has received reports of an alleged ''UFO'' sighting near Michael Howard''s home on March 8, 1997, MoD Air Defence staff have confirmed that there is no evidence to suggest any unauthorised incursion of the UK Air Defence Region on that date."

The best part is, for the next month, you and I can download these files for free, and have a look ourselves at what was reported. You can download them at the U.K. National Archives

David Clarke (featured in the above video) has written an informative book drawing from the information and reports contained in these files, it's called, The UFO Files: The Inside Story of Real-Life Sightings Clarke's book covers over 100 years of UFO sightings, drawing on formerly secret reports released to The National Archives by the Ministry of Defence. Original records reveal how British Intelligence and the CIA investigated many Cold War sightings, from the Roswell incident of 1947 to ghost aircraft, Radar Angels to the RAF's confidential files.

These release of these reports may turn out to be ground breaking stuff if folks take the time to read them. It's important to realize that a good deal of the reports would have been quietly put in a file at the time, perhaps discussed behind closed doors, but certainly not widely released to the public. The official line of governments, then, and for that matter now, is that UFO's, meaning flying craft from other planets, do not exist. Aliens, do not exist. That is what they want us to believe, or at least it is what they wanted us to believe. As I suggested above, that may no longer be the case.

Perhaps now, in 2010, we are coming to a point in history where it is time for the world to know the truth. Imagine how "wild" that would be....the impact on religion, society, people's thoughts and belief's....Even now, in an age of technology beyond the grasp of folks a mere 100 years ago, I think that much of the world would still be overcome with the realization that life exists beyond Earth, that aliens do visit us, that perhaps, folks who made these claims in the past, were not crazy. Natural progression....the people are told when the people are ready to be told, not before....and maybe, just maybe...something is afoot, as Sherlock Holmes would say, and we are on the verge of learning the truth.....I hope I am here to see it......

The Mystery of King Tut's Death Solved?

So it seems that ancient Egypt's most famous Pharoh, know to us as "King Tut" was really kind of an ordinary guy, not particularly god like, and in fact, if the recent findings are true, he was quite sickly....

Tut, who was originally known as Tutankhaten, which is translated to mean "Living Image of Aten" was an Egyptian pharaoh of the 18th dynasty. He is also known as Tutankhamun, which apparently means "Living Image of Amun." He was in charge of things between 1333 BC – 1324 BC, depending on who you talk to and what calendar they are using.

Well it seems that if Pharaoh was the "living image of Amun," or the "living image of Aten," neither of them were too healthy. Scientists have discovered that the man we know as King Tut, had a cleft palate and a club foot...kind of paints a little different picture doesn't it? The boy king only lived to 19 years of age, and in addition to the woes I mentioned, it seems that based on DNA tests and CT scans, he suffered from a genetic bone disease and malaria.....and a broken leg. In fact, it is the broken leg that may have ended his life, if gangarene took hold, or perhaps he was already weakened, given his many other ailments. It sounds as if he was a sick child who became a king.

According to Wilkipedia, scientific examinations of King Tut's remains show that he had a long head, large incisors, an overbite, a receding chin line, as well as being "slender, delicate, frail and weakly" Long heads seem to be common in Egyptian pictures of pharoahs and their women. I used to think that was the product of the artists who drew their pictures, but this scientific claim seems to support the idea that they did indeed, or at least Tutankhaten, did look something like the pictures found in study of the Egyptians. Now I am not making any leaps here, I refuse to, especially considering I have little or nothing to support my theory, but long heads appear in other pictures, specifically they turn up in descriptions of entities said to be from outer space, aliens in other words. On another note, I couldn't help but think the description also brings to mind Prince Charles, although that comparison.....is purely my opinion.

Through the magic of science, and specifically DNA testing on his mummy, in addition to matters of his health, scientists have concluded that Tut's ...real "mommy" and daddy were likely brother and sister.....oh those ancient Egyptians.....This too may have contributed to his health problems, given the issues that sometimes arise with inbreeding between siblings. Apparently, it isn't all that unusual for the time though, especially among royal families.

King Tut, was not a particularly famous Pharoah until 1922 when a British archaeologist, Howard Carter discovered his tomb and a fantastic treasure stored with the king's mummy. The treasure more than anything, helped draw attention to King Tut, making him perhaps the most famous of all the Pharoahs, and in fact, he has become an icon of the Egyptian Mummy Pharoah business. He's been the subject of movies, books, and has become a legend, even if the facts had become somewhat convoluted.

Although he was only 9 when he first came to power, he was a much loved Pharoahs, and in fact was worshipped as a god during his own lifetime. The fact that he had the phyiscal ailments he had, makes that all the more odd, in that he certainly appears to have suffered from typically common, human maladies. On the other hand, if those infirmities were obvious, perhaps his followers honored him because of them. This discovery is causing a bit of a sensation in the scientific world, and in the world of those who study ancient history. The fact that someone who obviously suffered from very human illnesses, who likely died of a very common cause, that he was also considered "a god" is quite remarkable, and makes me wonder what it is about him that we don't know.

As we search for answers to the ancient mysteries, and even the newer mysteries, we should never lose sight of the role of the ancient Egyptian peoples. Much of what they did was ahead of their time so to speak, and the knowledge they had in some areas, may possibly exceed even the knowledge we have today. Of course, as we know, ancient egyptian history and culture figures heavily in Masonic culture and teachings. It has also been the subject of much historical and scientific research for a long, long time. I think that among us, there are those who know, perhaps only intuitively, that there is more to the Egyptians than we understand. If there is a link between other worlds, perhaps other planets, and humans, I think the Egyptians hold the key.....

Mysterious Ramblings

Sometimes I find myself wondering how much of what I read is anything close to true versus how much I read is pure BS. The same applies to what I write. I have been reading and writing about unsolved mysteries, John F Kennedy's assassination, government conspiracies, government cover-ups, esoteric mysteries, the alternative histories, unidentified flying objects, the Masonic Lodge, Knight's Templars, buried treasure, (Oak Island) etc etc for quite a while. In some ways, most of my life.

Do I consider myself a "conspiracy theorist" ? Actually no. Although I write about this stuff, I have not really formed an opinion about it, not really....I have my ideas I suppose, but as far as opinions or answers go, I believe that there is much I don't understand, and perhaps never will understand. It hurts my head to think about it sometimes. The problem is the sheer volume of information, books, websites, videos, television shows, all purporting to have the answers, but most just succeed in doing what I do, ask more questions.

I believe there is lots we don't know. I believe that history, as we know it, is largely the result of man and man's imagination, and what past men and organizations in power wanted us to believe. Call it mind control, call it controlling the masses to do your bidding, whatever, it is what we have been taught to believe from the beginning, even though, that has changed throughout time. That implies that someone, some persons, know more than we do, and know how to control us, with "us" being the masses. These are things tied to the economy, to business, science, and of course economics, money and power. In some ways, each of us is a 'slave to something' For most of us, it is earning a living, eeking out a life, not that far removed from oxen working a field, or slaves spending their lives building a pyramid for some Egyptian Pharoah to be buried in when he died. Those who resist, who don't want to go with the group, usually end up homeless, penniless, or worse. No matter how much many of us learn to like our jobs, we have "learned" that behaviour. Think about it, given a choice, would you rather drive a truck or sit on a beach in the sun, drinking margarita's? We learn that if we ever want that chance to 'sit in the sun' we have to give a lot to get it, a lot of blood, sweat and tears, while others, the Pharoah's for instance, can spend all their time in the sun should they choose, watching us work on their monument......

I don't believe we really know much about the "real" history. I think there are people who know some of it, probably lots of people who know some of it, and others who know another part, but nobody, no one person, group or organization, have all the answers, nor have they got together to put what they do know into one place. I doubt they (we) ever will.

I have also begun to realize that the more we talk about it, the more we write about the mysteries of life, and that is what most of these things are, the more confused and lost we become. Scientists often postulate a theory, then set about using approved methods to test or disprove their own theory. Conspiracy theorists don't do a lot of that. We tend to postulate a theory then set about proving it, using whatever sources and methods we can find, often citing other's agreements with our own theories as proof. It isn't. It just means we have found like minded individuals who subscribe to the same theories. For if I say that life on Earth began on Mars, and I find other websites saying the same thing, I tend to start to accept the other websites as proof of my own theory. Regardless of whether or not the other authors have proven anything or not.

The problem in my mind, is that we have become a society obsessed with unsolved mystery, and we love conspiracy ideas. We also want to believe, we really do, we want to believe in life after death, in aliens from other planets, in conspiracies within high places, and leaders with knowledge beyond our own. I think it is hard wired into humanity to believe, which is how religion enters our lives, it doesn't really matter the belief, as long as one exists. It's a line from "Death of A Salesman" something to the affect, "A salesman has to dream boy...." or some such thing, "a person has to believe in something"

Those of us who subscribe to conspiracy theories and other unsolved mysteries, who wonder about things like the pyramids, and UFO's want to believe, but I think we really don't know what it is we want to believe, but we are searching for something. It's why we are open to believing in conspiracies, why we can believe in a 'shooter on the grassy knoll' or an alien abduction, or a new history, one that explains something that perhaps other history overlooks, either on purpose or otherwise.

I am lumping a lot behind the title, 'conspiracy theory' but there is a lot, too much. It takes a mind greater than mine to make sense of it, any of it. One thing leads to another. For example, set out to become and expert on pirate treasure and suddenly you find yourself needing to be an expert on Masonic legend, or the Knight's Templars. Set out to become an expert on Stonehenge and suddenly you are studying UFO's and Druids and mysterious rock formations around the world. Study stone walls and you find out you need to become a cartographer, astronomer and perhaps an expert in Native culture at the very least. Try to focus on political assassinations, like JFK, Abraham Lincoln, and topics like history and society, well beyond the accepted, become important, as do mysterious societies. Study of the Knight's Templars takes you down roads that lead to Egyptian History, Pyramids, Solomon's Temple, Bible Stories, The Crusades, Quests for the Holy Grail, Masonic Lodges, Prieure de Sion theories, unknown North American history, even Viking history, Native American history, pirates, and yes, even the Oak Island Treasure Mystery. Each mystery intertwined with another and another.....Linkages appear and disappear, stories and theories support one another, while others disprove one another, but all seem pointed in the same direction, further on, deeper and deeper into the mystery.

Unfortunately, regardless of what they may claim, I do not believe that any group, be it scientists, Masons, the illusive Priory de Sion, Conspiracy buffs, religious organizations, have the answer. None of them. Sorry. They might each have some of the story, some of the answers, but none of them have it all together, and even if they do, who would believe them?

On another note, or perhaps the same note....There is a billboard that has recently appeared on Interstate 35 near the town of Wyoming, Minnesota. It shows George W. Bush, smiling at us, saying, "Miss me yet?" You can see the billboard and read the article, Here On the surface, it's kind of funny. According to the article, the advertising company who put up the billboard said, "The ad was purchased by a group of small business owners who wish to remain anonymous."

The billboard and picture might just be a bit of a joke, it might also be a political message, and it might be something altogether different. I'm sure the internet will soon provide us with lot's of theories. The first thing I noticed, when I looked at it, is the shape of George W. Bush's right hand. It is obstenibly a wave, but when you look close, the first thought that I had was, it is a kind of odd way to hold one's fingers. The open palm, facing down, thumb extended, middle three fingers together, and the small finger separated, held apart. As a conspiracy theorist, I immediately tried that hand position. It's not that unusual, but it's not how I hold my fingers to wave, particularly the pinky finger, it just doesn't seem natural. But maybe for Bush, it is, maybe he had that finger broken, maybe his hand just goes that way, and maybe, just maybe, like the billboard, someone is yanking our chain.......

The Westford Knight

Are you familiar with this picture? This is a reproduction of a carving found on a stone in Westford Massachusetts, it's referred to as "The Westford Knight" which is said to be a effigy of a 13th century medieval knight which some say is connected with Sir Henry Sinclair and his explorations of North America, a century before Columbus discovered America.

The town of Westford was settled in 1635, and is located in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. The identify of the so called Westford Knight is suggested to be Sir James Gunn, that claim being made because the shield he holds shows the coat of arms of the Clan Gunn. Various theories exist about the rock carving, with the most popular being that it was carved by members of Sir Henry Sinclair's expedition to the New World to commemorate the death of the Knight, a member of the Sinclair entourage.

There are others who believe this is nothing more than natural cracks in a rock, perhaps enhanced by unknown persons who noticed the resemblance of the cracks to a medieval knight. Those who believe that tend to not believe that Earl Henry Sinclair travelled to the America before Columbus. There are now several books in print that purport to prove that Sinclair came to America using maps called the "Zeno Maps" taken from what is called "The Zeno Narrative" that chronicles an even earlier discovery of the New World. While it is possible that the carving may have been 'enhanced' what are the chances that someone would know the coat of arms of the Gunn Clan? Coincidence? Perhaps....but that is quite a leap. That someone would be able to enhance cracks in a rock to coincide with the coat of arms of a medieval knight said to be a member of Sir Henry Sinclair's group, years later....well....I have trouble with that one.

Although I try to remain open minded about such things, having found that for every story proving some "new history" there exists another story disproving it, a fact that clouds the stories and makes coming to any meaningful conclusion difficult at best. However....having said that, I tend to believe in the story of Henry Sinclair. If the legends are true, Sinclair had the means and quite likely the knowledge to make the trip, landing in Nova Scotia, Canada sometime around the end of the 1300's. The interesting thing is that Sinclair is also the Baron of Rosslyn, home of Rosslyn Castle and Chapel, which of course we know is where the mysterious Knight's Templar sought refuge following their fall from favor with the Pope. Sinclair was also handed the titles of Earl of Orkney, and Lord of Shetland, and according to some records was invested by Haakon, King of Norway, as Jarl of the Orkneys. That connection, is the one that to me, makes possible, if not very likely the idea that he had access to information about the New World.

As far as I am concerned, being Canadian, and knowing the history, there is no doubt that Vikings, Norsemen, visited and had a settlement in Newfoundland, on Canada's east coast, long before Columbus or any of the other explorers who have been heralded as discovering North America. Sinclair's connections that ran deep among powerful people and royalty would have given him the opportunity to learn of the Norse visits and the land across the ocean. He may not have even been the first to come here, but it is his other connections, to the Knight Templars that makes his journey important.

Sinclair, himself perhaps a member of The Knights Templars would most certainly have the money and probably access to whatever they knew, which would have helped. Particularly if he was seeking the Holy Grail, which other legends suggest may have been taken by The Knight's Templar to the New World, or perhaps he was the one tasked with bringing it here. After a journey from the Orkney's to Nova Scotia, a trip down the coast to Massachusetts a distance of around 700 miles overland, wouldn't seem all that difficult, particularly, if it is true that Sinclair established a settlement(s) in The new World, from which to conduct further explorations. That a member of his entourage would have died on the trip, is also a very good possibilty, which could explain the carving of the Westford Knight to commemorate where he died.

The legend of Sir Henry Sinclair is growing, thanks in large part to the internet, which, as we all know, gives us a wealth of information, albeit much of it untrue, unproven or unfounded. Internet pages, this one included, tend to 'feed' off of each other, which further adds to the idea that something is true, even if it isn't. I write about it, you write about it and someone else writes about it...someone else looks it up, finds us all writing about the same thing, and then believes it must be all true.....I am saying this because, I believe a good investigator, historian or lover of mystery, must seek their own truth, and draw their own conclusions. In the case of Sir Henry Sinclair, I believe the story, I believe he came here 90 some years before Columbus. I also believe his voyage had something to do with the Knight's Templar, perhaps he came to recover their treasure hidden a century before, or perhaps Sinclair came to Nova Scotia to hide their treasure, (the Holy Grail?) which they had smuggled to Scotland as they escaped Europe.

However, I am currently just finishing a novel by Whitley Strieber, an author, broadcaster and seeker of truth, who makes my paltry attempts at explaining or exploring the unknown look downright foolish....and I have to tell you, it's been a page turner and I have enjoyed every page. The book is called Critical Mass

As I mentioned, Strieber is an American writer who has authored horror novels such as The Wolfen and The Hunger and non-fiction books like Communion, wwhich is an account of his perceived experiences with non-human entities.

I've always been a fan of Whitley Strieber, having first become familiar with him through his association with my favorite radio show of all time, Coast To Coast AM which unfortunately, I don't get on my local radio anymore...but I am digressing...

It's hard to be "critical" of Strieber's book that I am currently reading, Critical Mass, the story of a nuclear attack, although fictional, I think it tells an accurate story of what could happen if the wrong bombs fell into the wrong hands. It's been an entertaining read, so much so that I am now going to pass it on to my Father, who I think will enjoy it as well. It's one of those books that even though it is fiction, and you know it, you also know that the plot is not far from reality, and what could happen....what might happen....and the ramifications if it did happen. Strieber's writing style is fast paced, real, and the information feels accurate and researched, his descriptions are frightening in their realness, and the picture he paints is like looking at a painting by one of the masters of realism. No detail is ignored, no piece left out because it is too difficult to paint or in Strieber's case, to write. I know that when I put this one down, I will be looking for more books by Whitley Strieber.

You can pick up a copy of Critical Mass by Whitley Strieber Click Here
Take for instance the latest in UFO mysteries, and that is a recent sighting of a UFO over Newfoundland, Canada, and no country seeming willing to take credit. First thought to be a French missile, but the French deny that possibility...so here is the story, according to the Canadian Press

Apparently a woman in Harbour Mille, Newfoundland was taking pictures of the sunset on Monday January 25th when she saw something unusual in the sky, a rocket shaped object, with flames from the back, streaking across the sky, and she wasn't alone, it seems her neighbors saw three of the objects in the night sky. But so far, no one knows what the objects were, making them an Unidentified Flying Object, in the truest sense of the phrase. Not that there hasn't been some attention paid to the mystery, Public Safety Canada issued an email saying the government was aware of the media reports of UFO's over Newfoundland, and the RCMP were on the case...but so far, the RCMP have no answers.

David Charbonneau, a spokesman for Public Safety Canada, said in an email that the federal government was “aware of media reports of public sightings of unidentified objects” off Newfoundland but said the RCMP was investigating, however at that time the RCMP said, 'no we are not investigating' and referred the issue back to Public Safety Canada, in what is a typical reaction to these kinds of events.

Since this hit the news there has been lots of speculation, including a report that suggests it may have been the result of France conducting a M51 ballistic missile test from a submarine off its shores in the Atlantic as part of missile testing. Apparently an M51 has a range of 8,000 km. France and Newfoundland are 4,000 kms apart, but for it's part, France is saying they didn't do any testing in the area. There is also the French Island of St Pierre and Miquelon, which is off the coast of Newfoundland, perhaps the missile came from there.

So...what was it exactly? This is where this one gets interesting, this UFO sighting prompted a statement from the Office of The Prime Minister of Canada, who said as far as they are concerned, it was not a missile.

"There is no indication that there was ever a rocket launch," Prime Minister Steven Harper's press secretary Dimitri Soudas said in an e-mail to QMI Agency. But at the same time, they are not saying what it was...so it wasn't a missile or rocket, but they don't know what it was that the Newfoundland residents saw and photographed.

According to CBC News, RCMP Sgt. Wayne Edgecombe said, "It's nothing criminal," adding he couldn't reveal what the police investigation uncovered. Edgecombe said that the job of the RCMP was to determine if there was criminal activity, which he said there wasn't, but he did say that the Department of National Defence (DND) gave him some info, and he deferred to them to release the information, which they haven't, unless you consider the release from the PMO to be their release. DND have said they are waiting for some kind of report, and turned reporters back to the RCMP, who are basically shrugging their shoulders...so back and forth we go, with no one agency offering anything useful in terms of an explanation.

Perhaps it is criminal, in the sense that it sounds like there may be information being withheld from the public in regard to what this was, and that, of course, leaves lot's of room for questions and speculation. If they do know what it was that was spotted over Newfoundland, they should be telling us. If they don't know, then it is a UFO, and leave it at that. Doesn't mean extra terrestrials necessarily, it just means they don't know....but I think they do.....and they just don't want to tell us.......why? I was OK with officials stating they did not know, but unfortunately RCMP Sgt. Wayne Edgecombe's comment that the Department of National Defence (DND) gave him some info leads me to think they are hiding something, which is entirely different than just saying they don't know.

This reminds me of the UFO related information that one of Canada's past defense Minister's Paul Hellyer, has spoken about in recent years, suggesting that government's know much more about UFO's than they are saying. I've posted about Paul Hellyer, who I happen to believe speaks with truth, here in Paul Hellyer His Words

ABC News has discovered that the company which provides what it calls Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight (ACOG) to the U.S. Marine Corps, Trijicon, has been issuing the troops with gun sights that are designed to "function in bright light, low light or no light conditions" and no wonder, on the side of the guns is a code "JN8:12", that is a reference to the New Testament book of John, Chapter 8, Verse 12, which reads: "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." (King James Version)

Some soldiers are calling it the "Jesus Gun" because of the message inscribed on the sight.

Trijicon has a $660 million dollar multi year contract to supply about 800,000 of the sights, which appear to be carrying a Jesus message to the battle, alluding to the religious crusade that some say is really what is behind the war on terror. This revelation has embarrassed The Pentagon, who originally tried to undersell the whole thing by saying it didn't violate army rules, but later referred to the inscription as “disturbing” and a “serious concern.”

I'm wondering how the sights with this message managed to get this far into the fight without being mentioned until now. Didn't anyone in purchasing look at these sights and at least wonder what the inscription meant? Perhaps wonder why it was there? If they did, who did they tell?

We've all heard the notion, and some are not sure it isn't the truth, that the "War On Terror" is actually a religious war, that some refer to as the "War on Islam" which would be an entirely different thing altogether than a war to round up some Islamic extremist terrorists. A religious war conjures images of the Knight's Templar riding off to fight the Islamic armies, in a Holy War, which is exactly not the image the U.S. wants to portray. Of course, given the link between the Knights Templars, the original crusaders, and the Masonic Lodge, and then the links between the Masonic Lodge and the United States, and you have the makings of a what could be percieved as a crusade....or at least something that looks like a crusade.

I've always felt that there was more to the story between Al Qaeda and the United States, and certainly Osama Bin Laden has referred to the war in religous terms, I think he has actually referred to our soldiers as 'crusaders' which of course helps to rally the Islamic troops to fight the invading forces much as they did in the original crusades.

Finding U.S. soldiers marching off to war with religious messages on their guns brings to mind the song,
"Onward Christian Soldiers Marching Off To War,
with the cross of Jesus...going on before....."

Puts a entirely different spin on the War on Terror if it was felt that this was indeed a war for religous ideals doesn't it? But is it? Is it really a crusade against Islam or are we actually trying to put an end to Al Qaeda in response to 911, the moment that sparked the War On Terror. On the surface, I am happy to believe that, and even below the surface. I can honestly say, I don't know enough to believe any different. I know enough to question some of it, and to believe at face value that the 911 attacks were what we have been told, and therefore the perpertrators deserve to be retaliated against. On the other hand, if they weren't what we have been told, or if there are, or were, those in power who used them (911 attacks) as an opportunity to get into a fight in the Middle East for whatever reason, oil or religion, I'm not so sure I can go along with that, at least not as easily.

However, the fight is on, and it's too late to turn back now....

Here is a video that shows the Trijicon gun sight.
There is something deep and hidden even today about groups like the Masons, The Priory of Sion, Knight's Templar, etc etc that gives a person lots to think about. One thing I am thinking about lately is Osama Bin Laden's organization, Al Qaeda, who even though bin laden likes to say are more of an idea as opposed to an organization are actually a very secret organization, spread all over the world, much like the ones we write about, like the Masonic Lodge. Now I am not comparing Al Qada to the Masonic Lodge, but I am comparing the idea of an organization, that is world wide, and for all intents and purposes secret, save for what they want the world to know about them.

In a recent New York Times article, Steven N. Simon, a senior fellow for Middle Eastern affairs at the Council on Foreign Relations compared Al Qada to a franchise, like MacDonalds for instance. An organization with mutal goals, spread around the world, which, like I said, is not unlike the Masons. There are Masonic Lodges all over the world who, although they are all Masons, don't necessarily have much communication or dealings with the rest of them, except for special occasions, but yet, they all benefit from each other, or have the potential to benefit.

Mr Simon said, (Ok I wish I hadn't written it like that...) in relation to the recent failed terrorist attack at Christmas and bin Laden's recent release about it, that bin laden was careful in his words, not exactly taking credit for the attack, but yet, letting the world know he supports it.

“A franchise, just like McDonald’s, is supposed to create mutual benefits. The benefit for bin Laden is he gets to associate himself with this attack. The benefit for the regional group is it gets to use the Al Qaeda name for fund-raising and recruiting.”

So...with that in mind, imagine trying to track down and deal with all the Masons, Roscrucians, Knight's Templars, and so on throughout the world. It would be nigh on impossible, in fact, I dare say it would be impossible. Which is why, it is so difficult to round up Al Qada. It's not like they all meet at the local pub on Saturday night to plan their next terror attack, and if they did, there is no saying there is not another group of them with similar ideas, meeting at another local pub in another town somewhere, coming up with some equally nefarious scheme.

It won't be until the world shifts, and I don't know what that means, except to say major changes in the way everyone thinks have to happen. Until we stop fighting with one another and stop exploiting one another, and put aside the mother and fathers of all problems, religious ideas and financial ideas. When we all come together in the same group, with the same ideals, that we will bring an end to this stuff, and frankly, I don't think that will ever happen....

In the meantime, we can study Al Qada, look at their organization, and compare them to other secret organizations, could be interesting.

Sorry for the rant.....

The World's Most Powerful Secret Societies

Here is a little series of short video clips about The Illuminati, The World's Most Powerful Secret Societies. Those of us with a desire to know more about the goings on behind the scenes will find this to be more of much of what we already know about these mysterious societies, their members and the alleged powerful hold they have on world events.

Here is Part 1

Here is Part 2, a look at the Knight's Templar

Here is Part 3

There are more videos in this series, you can find them on YouTube I just wanted to give you a flavor for what this series is about. I'm going to go watch the rest of them myself now.

Skull and Bones Society Auction

Get your wallets out, because we are going to an auction, or at least we should be.....apparently the Skull and Bones Society is having an auction! Yes, the Yale University secret society, who has members including George W. Bush, and his father, Senator John Kerry, writer William F. Buckley, Jr, and several businessmen such as Averell Harriman and H.J. Heinz II is selling off a human skull and two large bones.

The skull and bones are going to auction on January 22, 2010 at Christie's Auction House in New York and are expected to bring up to $20,000 According to the auction house, the skull has a lid cut in the top, which was used for ballots when the skull was used as a ballot box by the Skull and Bones members. They also report that one of the bones is enscribed with the word, "THOR"

But that isn't the best part, the best part is that the skull and bones, which are interesting enough, will be sold with a black book listing names of Skull and Bones members back in 1831-1877. It also comes with approximately 50 photographs of society members and a small black book inscribed with names published until 1971.

Now that.....would be nice to have....although I don't think it would provide anything we don't already know, there are lots of Skull and Bones Members particularly before 1982, after that, they seem to be a little less well known, perhaps because they like to keep the names of the current powerful a little less well known when possible. Given that history records the Skull and Bones Society as having been founded in 1832 by William Huntington Russell and Alphonso Taft, a list beginnning in 1831 would include the very first members. The Skull and Bones Society was originally and informally as "Bones" members are referred to as "Bonesmen".

It's interesting how the symbol of a human skull and bones figures in so much of the secret societies culture, besides the Skull and Bones Society, this is a common symbol in Masonic culture, it's been tied to The Knights Templar and was also adopted by pirates, many of whom may very well have had Masonic /Knights Templar connections.

The picture of the skull and bones included here, is said to be the logo of the Skull and Bones Society, and according to an entry in Wilkipedia, the number 322 is said to represent 322 the year the society was founded (1832) and that this is the second chapter the Bavarian Illuminati, a secret German organization, that we now know as "The Illuminati" Another theory says that the 322 stands for "founded in '32, 2nd corps", where the first corps might be the Illuminati. But another theory says that 322 refers to the death of Demosthenes. Like all good secret societies, rumors, theories abound, and it leaves us to wonder in some instances if anyone really knows what the number stands for.....
UPDATE January 24, 2010
The Huffington Post reports that the above mention skull and bones was pulled from Christie's Auction with Christie's citing a title claim as the reason for the skull and bones being removed from their auction. It was expected to sell for $10,000 to $20,000 to the seller who Christie's identified as a European art collector.

The Final Report On the Collapse of World Trade Center Building 7

I just read what I was able to understand of the "Final Report On The Collapse of World Trade Center Building 7, a report completed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, U.S. Dept of Commerce. I read the report after watching a CBC Television documentary regarding building 7, on The Passionate Eye.

Building 7 of the World Trade Centre in New York did not collapse until 7 hours following the collapse of the other two twin towers. It did not suffer a direct hit by a plane, but caught fire from the explosion and debris from the other buildings hitting it.

Essentially, the report concludes that the last World Trade Center building to fall following the 911 attacks, fell because of fire damage, and some debris from the collapse of the other buildings hitting one side of the skyscraper. The fire was able to do what it did, in part because the fire sprinkler system didn't work, perhaps because of fire and damage on other floors inhibiting the system from working.

This report defies the thoughts of others who believe the last tower was obvious evidence of controlled demolition, in other words, the building was brought down on purpose by explosives. Which of course adds credence to the conspiracy idea that the other two buildings may also have been ultimately brought down by more than just airplanes. They too may have been collapsed by controlled demolition procedures, which of course leads to more conspiracies.

Like so many of the 911 conspiracy theories and theories debunking the conspiracies, one is able to make an argument either way, depending on what you want to believe, or choose to believe. This report says fire caused the building to collapse, fire from the other buildings, which is quite plausible. On the other hand, there are arguments that can be made that fire alone should not have caused the building to collapse, burn yes, but collapse no....for example, according to the report on The Passionate Eye, Building 7 of the World Trade Center, is "the first and only skyscraper in the world to collapse solely due to fire."

Almost a decade after the attacks on the World Trade Centres on 911, the idea of a conspiracy lives, much like the conspiracies around other events like the Kennedy Assassination, Princess Diana, and others, where forces within governments have been rumored to have been involved in heinous acts, for reasons the theorists have arguments for, and those who seek to diprove the theorists, have equal theories against. Of course, the internet, and sites like even this little one, are blamed for keeping the conspiracy theories alive, perhaps with good reason. It's easy to blame the internet conspiracy buffs, who are often easily discredited, but we need to remember, many of these sites are authored by people with credentials. It's also interesting to note, that even though the internet is blamed for keeping this stuff alive, television programs, like The Passionate Eye, are still being shown, often to large audiences. So it's not just the internet folks who like a good conspiracy theory................
It appears to be a trademark of his, a signature that makes him unmistakable, and has become the personification of Napoleon as he is known. What's not well known is why he did it, was it just for the sake of the painting because the artist couldn't draw hands? Or was it because he had a pain in his stomach, or perhaps a deformed hand that he wanted to hide. Or...was it something else?

Although it is not widely spoken of, Napoleon was involved in Freemasonry, as were other members of his family and those he knew as his compatriots. Freemasonry was fairly widespread in the late 1700's and consisted of many prominent people of the time, so there is little reason to think he wasn't. Even if he himself was not a member, he would undoubtably been exposed to many who were, and would likely know of some of their symbolism. I suspect he was a member, as do many researchers, to say he wasn't is as unfounded as to say he was. The proof may infact lie in his poses with his hand in his tunic. That may have been due to his involvment in "The Craft" and his way of identifying his membership to those "on the square"

Napoleon Bonaparte was not the only leader who has used the symbol of the hiddden hand, in fact that pose turns up quite frequently in poses of world leaders and other influential persons, many of whom may have been members of the Masonic Lodge. Among those are George Washington, Karl Marx, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Marquis de Lafayette, Salomon Rothschild and more, including even Joseph Stalin.

Is this further proof that the "illuminati' exist and have existed forever? Proof that many of these men share something, perhaps a philosophy, a plan? Or is it coincidence, a mere pose used to make painting a portrait easier? or because they had cold hands.....or perhaps their hand inside their coats holding a gun? It's difficult to say, but according to the Vigilante Citizen the hidden hand, is a symbol of a hand sign learned by initiates to The Royal Arch Degree (the 13th degree of the Scottish Rite or the 7th degree of the York Rite) of the Masonic Lodge. According to the article, this degree is the degree of Freemasonry where the Mason learns "the sacred name of God."

It's quite possible that these men were members of The Royal Arch Degree, and were using this symbolism to say just that. We know that George Washington was a Mason, and no doubt one who had attained a high degree, his use of the hand in the tunic would certainly lend credence to this theory. Masons are big on symbolism....big.....they love to slide their symbols into pictures and images, to be recognized by those in the know, and overlooked by others. Whether through a handshake, a look, a tilt of the head, the position of their feet, Masons send quiet signals to others who understand what to the rest of us are nothing to notice. It's also in architecture, where Masonic Symbolism can be so overt to those who know, in some cities, one would think almost every building is a Masonic Temple.

Coincidentally....or not...it is interesting to note that Napoleon didn't always appear to hide one hand, nor did George Washington, but they did tend to hold their hands in similar poses, such as these....first...Napoleon......Oddly enough, in this picture of Napoleon, aside from the similarities to Washington's pose, Napoleon appears to be lifing his coat to show off his crotch.....Ha Ha...just an observation..but I am digressing.....sorry....

And now...George Washington.....in an obviously Masonic portrait (Gilbert Stewart 1796) with the pillars in the background, notice his hand on the papers on the table in a similiar pose to Napoleon above. In the picture below, Washington is holding his sword in much the same manner as Napoleon in the first photo above.

Sometimes when a person gets looking at this stuff, it can become easy to read into it more that there is....perhaps both Washington and Napoleon liked to look at maps and point at stuff....perhaps they suffered from poor circulation and liked to keep one hand warm at a time....Perhaps artists who painted Washington were influenced by previous artists portraits of Napoleon. Perhaps the artists didn't like to paint hands, which looks apparent in the first picture of Washington above, one hand in his tunic, the other behind his back...or was he trying to tell us that Washington was hiding something....what is behind his back? A secret? Both hands are hidden in that picture, is he hiding two secrets? In the other portraits both men seem to be referring to a document of some kind, a map perhaps, or a plan....what is hidden has been revealed?

Regardless, the similarities remain, but to what end? So what if they were both members of the Royal Arch, or wanted others to think they were? That is perhaps what I find most interesting about the symbolism in these paintings, other paintings as well as historic and modern designs. Why is there such an interest in demonstrating the "masonic influence" Is it to leave a legacy, or to tell those that come after them what they knew and when?

Your guess is as good as mine.....
Of course the sheer volume of information that is probably "disinformation" adds to the confusion and wastes a lot of time.

Nonetheless, we continue to move forward shifting through the information we find and when something catches my eye, I like to post it here. Tonight, I came across a Canadian news story from May 19, 1967 that some experts claim may be one of the best human/alien/UFO encounters to date. I am talking about the Stephen Michalak unidentified flying object encounter.

Stephen Michalak was a weekend prospector working the area around a place called Falcon Lake in the Whiteshell Provincial Park, in southeastern Manitoba, Canada.

According to Michalak, around noon on May 19, 1967, he saw two unknown objects, he described as "flying saucers" One landed near him in the woods, near where he was prospecting. He had heard a noise, similar to a flock of Canada Geese, when he looked up, two cigar-shaped objects, a brilliant red color were coming down towards him. One of the unidentified flying objects stopped in the air, while the other landed on a big rock about 160 feet from where he stood. While he watched, the UFO still in the air, changed it's color from red to grey, and flew away, to the west, he watched until it disappeared in the clouds. Turning his attention back to the craft that had landed, he said that it had turned to grey as well, but then to an incandescent stainless steel.

He moved towards the unidentified object and upon reaching it, he touched it with a gloved hand. When he did, it suddenly took off, leaving him with a patterned burn on his abdomen. The burn was obstensibly from the exhaust of the flying craft, and radiation. Following his encounter Michalak became very sick, with severe burns on his chest, and nausea, he did the best he could to mark the site of the encounter and left to seek medical treatment.

Stephen Michalak's injuries are considered among some of the best documented physical evidence regarding UFO's. Remember, in many cases, there is not much physical evidence regarding unidentifed flying objects, as for one thing, they are usually flying....That Michalak actually 'touched' the object and had burns on his body, adds credence to the story. His story is also different from other close encounters of the third kind stories, like alien abduction stories, in that, he did not see anyone in the unidentified object, even when the door opened and apparently he was able to get a glimpse inside the craft. Below is a picture of Michalak showing the burn pattern on his abdomen.

Michalak's encounter was investigated by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Royal Canadian Air Force, and other governmental and civilian UFO groups. Some of these investigations into the mystery differed on their findings, one (The U.S. Condon Committee) suggesting that there wasn't much radiation in the area and another, led by the Canadian Government found significant radioactive signatures near the landing site.

(The Condon Committee was the informal name of the University of Colorado UFO Project, a study of unidentified flying objects, undertaken at the University of Colorado from 1966 to 1968 under the direction of physicist Edward Condon. The committee was rife with problems, including the idea that they may have been influenced by the U.S. Air Force. Up until that time, the Air Force had been responsible for investigating UFO's aka (Project Blue Book) which ran from 1952 - 1969 with the two goals, 1) determining if UFOs were a threat to national security, and 2) to scientifically analyze UFO-related data. Project Blue Book is often criticized as not very valid, that the results were dubious, and that possibly it may have actually been covering up UFO evidence. Some conspiracy theroists, perhaps even yours truly, believe that the U.S. Air Force may still be collecting UFO information, even if they deny it publicly.)

Regardless of the findings of the investigations, the story took on a life of it's own and even made it to the television show, Unsolved Mysteries:

In other words, if you choose not to believe everything you are told, or if you question things, without saying whether you believe or not, your credibility can be severely scratched by someone quickly saying you are a conspiracy nut, meaning you are crazy, perhaps paranoid, and even maybe a little silly. In part that is because there are those among us who do come across as a little wacky....let's face it, not every arguement for a conspiracy is founded in much other than opinion, and that isn't always well thought out. But...if we dismiss everyone who chooses to investigate what they are told, to not accept everything at face value, well, we would be dismissing most everyone with a university education. If nothing else, a university degree teaches the student to question the common truth, to ask questions, and to hold tight to some skeptical thought rather than taking everything on blind faith.

But we don't usually label university students, professors and grads as conspiracy theorists, or conspiracy nuts....

However, it is those ideas that tend to ruin what credibility we have, and those ideas that make the truth even harder to find. If people opened their minds to the ideas that not everything is as it seems, and that life is far more complicated that some would believe, some of our theories would be studied a little closer, and who knows what answers would be found.

I think it safe to say that everyone knows that John F Kennedy was assassinated, not by a lone gunman, but by a group of high ranking people who wanted him gone, it's taken close to 50 years for that to be accepted by it is gaining acceptance everyday. The same holds for Unidentifed Flying Objects, hundreds, no thousands of people have witnessed UFO's. Many of them very credible witnesses, but yet, if asked, the official line is that UFO's don't exist and those witnesses were mistaken. Anyone who suggests that the UFO phenonenom is a conspiracy, covered up by government, others are quick to say that person is crazy, and at best, a conspiracy nut., perhaps even a paranoid conspiracy nut.

I was reading some discussion posts today on Amazon and among them was a post about One of the folks posting offered this bit of advice, and I have to admit, it is very true. He said,

whether or not conspiracy theorists are paranoid.

Basically there are 3 types of 'conspiracy theorists': (my comments in italics)

1. Those who truly believe there is a conspiracy and want the truth acknowledged. These are detectives. The general public would rather not believe them. e.g. people deny that there was a conspiracy to assassinate JFK regardless of what the detectives uncover.

2. Those who are actually deflecting and giving misleading information in order to keep the truth covered up through confusion and brainwashing. These are propagandists/co-conspirators. The general public would rather believe them. e.g. Priory de Sion, does it or doesn't this mysterious group even exist, one minute they are telling us of their existance, the next they deny it. Our governments are good at this, as given a choice, most want to believe that their government has their best interests in mind.

3. The paranoid and 'schizo's'. These are crazies. Only the like minded believe them. e.g. Those who claim to have been abducted by UFO's often only believed by others claiming the same thing happened to them. The rest of us tend to discount the stories, refusing to believe the possibility it is true.

I think this is as accurate a picture as there is, three types of persons interested in conspiracy theories. One of whom is probably the one who would like us to remain in the dark about such things, not unlike the Dark Ages when only the religious leaders and some scientists and rulers were allowed knowledge, and they controlled what the masses knew. I don't believe things much different today. Yes, thanks in part to the internet, the general public has access to more information, some of it true, but as a rule, we have no way of separating fact from fiction, and if we come close, something is released to throw us off, a red herring, as this is called, a distraction. So, for example, if I hit upon a theory that is close, someone else may put up a site refuting mine, and suggesting the real answer is their answer. Enough of these websites and no one will ever figure out what is credible and what isn't. Of course those who don't want us to know, love the sheer number of sites, books and theories, knowing that the volume hides the truth better than denial.

Sometimes, the red herring can be true, but so wild it is hard to believe, and usually does it's job of confusing those who might be interested. In magic, it is called obfuscation, or something which means that while you are looking at one hand, the magician is doing something with the other. The slight of hand is not happening in the hand you are watching, it is happening in the hand you aren't watching, the hand that is seemingly not doing anything. ( Wilkipedia defines obfuscation as the concealment of intended meaning in communication, making communication confusing, intentionally ambiguous, and more difficult to interpret.) The same is true for our esoteric mysteries, so much information, that all of it tends to confuse and mislead the investigator, often leading him or her down the opposite path from the truth. Sometimes this is very daring, as the obfuscator, will actually tell the truth, knowing the investigator is so confused by the multitude of information, he no longer knows what to believe. I think this is what is happening now, with so many books and movies about conspiracies and the holy grail etc, people are being exposed to so many theories and stories, they cannot fathom the facts from fiction.

What all this means is that when someone starts to get close, like the JFK Conspiracy for example, "new" information is suddenly found, that distracts the investigator. Sometimes that information is true, but it is information that won't help, but will instead, confuse. It may take the investigator down another road, one that leads away from the truth. Ask anyone who has spent time investigating the ancient mysteries, or even more recent ones like Oak Island for instance. The ideas and theories that abound as to the whereabouts and description of the treasure are so vast and varied, no one is sure of what is fact and what is fiction. Almost like when the searchers come close, a sudden tunnel opens, flooding their dig, something unexpected that has to be dealt with, but so often takes the searcher away from their original dig.

History is full of these types of obfuscation, history texts differ on dates, names, events, depending on who is telling the history, and who is reading it. Mysterious societies are the same. Someone closes in on the Priory de Sion, and suddenly another book appears, with a different history, or a different theory, sometimes one that is more plausible and perhaps more truthful, without actually providing the truth. But the deed is done, the mission a success, the investigators then go off trying to validate the new information, often losing sight of their original findings. And if all else fails, and the person(s) get too close, something happens to discredit the person, and their theory becomes that of a paranoid, crazy person.

This is the stuff that makes this work so difficult, so hard to trace, so hard to prove. Back to Oak Island for a minute, one treasure hunter discovers something, and is perhaps on the verge of making a major discovery, suddenly, another party starts digging somewhere else, trying to convince anyone that will listen that they are in the right place. Even the clues that are found, like the stone tablet that was supposedly found indicating a treasure lay some distance beneath it. Really? Or was that stone put there to keep someone busy digging in that spot, digging for nothing, while the real treasure lies somewhere else. Typical magic, obfuscation, you look over here, while I do my magic over here......

As my header quote says, "Wherever there is fiction, there is some truth." Meaning sometimes we know more than we realize, but we don't believe it, and therefore dismiss much of it. Often the real truth is dismissed quickly as the investigator goes off in the wrong direction.

Hitler's Library

I came across an article in The Atlantic, written by Timothy W. Ryback, about Hitler's Forgotten Library that caught my eye. Apparently, Hitler was a voracious reader, and the books he read and collected numbered in thousands, perhaps tens of thousands, many of which were destroyed at the wars end.

According to Ryback, Hitler read books about military tactics, but he also read or collected books about philosophy, religion, ordinary, everyday adventure novels, health, architecture, theater, painting, and sculpture, the occult, and...wait a minute...did I say, "occult"?

Hitler it seems had more than a passing interest in the occult, and in things like "destiny" perhaps even divine destiny. He thought himself chosen to by God to do the things he did and to deliver to the world, a new social order..... A new social order, hmmm...where have we heard that before? Sounds a lot like a new world order doesn't it? We all believe that there is currently a movement afoot to create a new world order, what we don't know is whether or not that is a good thing. I suppose it depends largely on your point of view and who you are. If you are part of the new world order, that's a good thing, if you are one of the peoples who doesn't fit into the new world order, that is another, much like Nazi Germany in the 1930's and 1940's.

According to Ryback's account of the books in the Hitler library, the Nazi leader also read extensively on religion, something he outwardly appeared to have nothing by distain for. Ryback found 130 books on religious and spiritual subjects, topics from Occidental Occultism to Eastern Mysticism and including the teachings of Jesus Christ. It seems that although Hitler may not have had much use for organized religion of the day, it didn't mean he didn't understand the significance of the teachings of Jesus Christ, and others. In fact, he may have actually lived by some of the teachings, particularly the believe in yourself ideas, and the ideas that lead men to greatness. As you know, madmen often are very intelligent, and can find reason for their beliefs and ideas within anything. It is possible that Adolf Hitler was doing exactly that. His reading of religous books may have only fostered his idea of destiny for himself, and his belief that God, if there was a God, was on his side.

Hitler's reading of religious ideas and doctrines could have been a case of "know thine enemy" and his reading and study of religion could have been largely for research into the ideas and religious thoughts of the rest of the world, Christians and Jews, as well as Muslims and Buddists etc. One thing is certain, the guy didn't enter into things half baked, he appears to have done his research first. I guess you don't set out to create a new world order without first having intimate knowledge of the old world order.

Another book of interest that Ryback found in the collection, was a book written by the mystic and prophesizer, Nostradamus, who's predictions included the rise to power of someone who, "with his tongue, would seduce many people."

Believers of Nostradamus have claimed that this was a prediction of the rise to power of Adolf Hitler. Whether Hitler believed that himself remains to be seen, but in all likelihood, given his possession of a copy of the book, says he knew about it, and it seems likely that he believed it to represent himself and perhaps even add credence to who he was, and what he perceived was his destiny.

That Nostradamus doesn't exactly paint a positive picture of the person he predicts rising to power, would not matter to Hitler, because, as with other ideas, he would see it the way he wanted to see it, with himself in a positive light and twist whatever he needed to twist to suit his own ends. Remember, Hitler believed what he was doing was 'the right thing' for Germany and I suppose, the rest of the world as well.

Hitler's self taught knowledge of religion, philosophy and the occult cannot be discounted. Nor can we discount the fact that he is largely self-educated, having given himself an education through voracious reading, some of it during his time in prison. It's interesting to note that among the texts, Ryback found many which had passages underlined, or had handwritten notes in the margins, obstensibly put their by Hitler, who believed in studying and remembering certain specific passages, sentences of books, along with whatever ideas he learned from the book(s)

His occult interest is well, interesting, to say the least. His skill at organizing, his use of symbols and symbolism, many of which can also be linked to the occult or other mysterious groups and societies is interesting to me. The skull and skull and cross bones symbol for instance, held in high regard by Masonic groups, as well as others, like the Skull and Bones, and even the Knight's Templars, not to mention 17th century pirates, themselves probably members of the Masonic Lodge or the Knight's Templars.

Now I am not linking Hitler to the Masonic Lodge, Knight's Templar, or any of the other esoteric groups, for that matter, not in any way, in fact, as far as I know, he persecuted members and particularly leaders of Masonic Lodges, sending many to concentration camps, and linking them to the Jews. However, he knew quite a bit about Freemasonry, including their use of hierarchical organization and initiation through symbolic rites. In fact, he incorporated many of Freemasonry's ideas into the design of his Nazi Party. His thoughts on the Masonic Lodge, taken from Hitler Speaks, by Hermann Rauschning. Andover: Chapel River Press, 1939; is as as follows:

"All the supposed abominations, the skeletons and death’s heads, the coffins and the mysteries, are mere bogeys for children. But there is one dangerous element and that is the element I have copied from them. They form a sort of priestly nobility. They have developed an esoteric doctrine not merely formulated, but imparted through the symbols and mysteries in degrees of initiation. The hierarchical organization and the initiation through symbolic rites, that is to say, without bothering the brain but by working on the imagination through magic and the symbols of a cult, all this has a dangerous element, and the element I have taken over. Don't you see that our party must be of this character...? An Order, that is what it has to be — an Order, the hierarchial Order of a secular priesthood... Ourselves or the Freemasons or the Church — there is room for one of the three and no more... We are the strongest of the three and shall get rid of the other two."

Whether or not Hitler said this remains to be seen, as there is some dispute as to how many times Hermann Rauschning actually interviewed the Nazi leader for his book, versus how much he learned from others, however, it seems logical, and their is no disputing Hitler's use of some of the Masonic methods for creating his "brotherhood" He certainly knew something about the Lodge, and it's goings on. He knew of their symbols and the importance of those symbols in the development and organization of the Lodge, and the loyalty of it's members to each other. Obviously, having that knowledge would be useful to a man trying to create a new brotherhood of men who would give their lives for each other and their leader.

Personally, I believe some of Hitler's officers could very well have been members of the Masonic Lodge. Certainly there were Masons among the soldiers and officers of his military, although whether or not they made that fact known remains to be seen. Apparently in pre-war Germany there were several groups or 'versions' of German Masonic Lodges, not all of which were out of favor with Hitler.

Regardless, what I am suggesting is that it is interesting how Hitler incorporated some of the same symbolism into his military's uniforms, and how he too, shared an interest in the occult, philosophy, history, and a new social order for the world. It is apparent that he had a decent knowledge of Masonic ideas and doctrines as well as the organization of the Lodge.

He just had his own ideas of what that New World Order looked like.....

I highly recommend you read Timothy W. Ryback's article in The Atlantic, you can read the entire post here, Hitler's Forgotten Library by Timothy W. There are many, many myths and legends associated with the town many of which are important to those of us who have an interest in the occult and the esoteric. Glastonbury is an important place in the world of the occult and the mystery seekers, particularly those who are on their own quest for The Holy Grail. Located in Britain, it is a mysterious place, steeped in history. It was in Glastonbury that the philosophers stone was found, and other mysteries abound. For those interested in magic, the occult, and other esoteric studies, Glastonbury is a must see.

For those of us more interested in the esoteric side of history, Glastonbury is important as many legends link the area to Joseph of Arimathea, the Holy Grail and King Arthur. One story describes how Joseph captured Jesus' blood in a cup, known today as the Holy Grail, and took it to Britain. The Glastonbury Abbey is said to have been built at the request of Joseph to house the Holy Grail, 65 or so years after the death of Jesus. According to some, it is believed that Joseph had visited Glastonbury along with Jesus as a child.

One thing that is of interest to me, the Grail Mystery notwithstanding, is the suggestion that Glastonbury is at the center of several "ley lines" which are, according to Wilkipedia,
"hypothetical alignments of a number of places of geographical interest, such as ancient monuments and megaliths. Their existence was suggested in 1921 by the amateur archaeologist Alfred Watkins, in his book The Old Straight Track

Ley lines are of interest to me, and have turned up in many of the writings that I have come across. Lines linking monuments across the countries, across the globe, mysterious and unexplained, they exist almost everywhere to those who know about them, or know enough to look. What's interesting is that I have come across writings about ley lines in North America, and now in Britain and Europe. No one denies their existence, what is disputed is their relevance, and whether or not they have any significance other than lines between megaliths and ancient sites. It is possible, skeptics argue, that these are just by coincidence, and yes, the shortest path between two points is a straight line, therefore ancient builders put their monuments in a line leading from one to the other.

Personally, I believe there is important significance to ley lines, although I am the first to admit, I don't understand them. I have known of their existence for several years, and in fact have figured out some of them around my own province in Canada. What they mean, if anything, escapes me. What doesn't escape me is their existence and their connection on some unknown level, to the esoteric mysteries and the ancient geometry taught in the Mystery Schools of old and even today as geometry still figures as a predominant theme in Masonic teachings.

So what do you think about the Occult Conference? No...not going? Perhaps you didn't know about it....well it's the first one so don't feel too bad. The Occult Conference is an event created by Jamie Alexzander and presented by Witchcraft Ltd as a venue for modern occultists and magicians. There will be talks & workshops on magical topics such as voodou, goetia and other magical & esoteric matters.

The Occult Conference has some important names scheduled as guest speakers, including, Andy Cooper, a a Third Degree Initiate of the Western Mystery Tradition and ritual magician. Writer and artists Peter Grey and Alkistis Dimech, Dr. Nathan Satan [Nathaniel J. Harris], Tarot reader and author, Kim Huggens, and the editor of the Equinox-British Journal of Thelema, Jake Stratton-Kent.

You can find out more about the conference, the venue, the guest speakers, the musicians, at their website, The Occult Conference and you can learn more about ley lines, Here
So...what do you think, do "ley lines" exist? Do they have any significance or are they mere coincidence?

Did Osama bin Laden Escape Capture In 2001 ?

Did the U.S. let Osama Bin Laden escape capture? That's the implication in a news report by Calvin Woodward of the Associated Press that I read on MSN this afternoon. A recently released U.S. Senate report says that the American Military was hot on Osama bin Laden's heels in December of 2001 at Tora Bora, mountainous area of eastern Afghanistan. American leaders decided not to pursue him at that time, giving him a chance to escape and regroup.
According to the report, bin Laden was within reach in 2001 and the U.S. had the means to capture him, but instead of captilizing on the opportunity, the let it slip by, presumably on the orders of then Defence Secretary Rumsfeld, and military leader Tommy Franks. Osama bin Laden and his bodyguards simply left the area at that time and disappeared into Pakistan. Had a full scale effort been ordered it is unlikely that would have happened, bin Laden may very well have been killed or captured, instead, the U.S. sent a small commando unit of about 100 troops in to try to capture the al-qaida leader and his followers.

The question that we have to ask, now, especially in light of my last post about the idea of a conspiracy behind the 911 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, is whether or not bin laden was allowed to escape on purpose. It has always been a contention of mine that the U.S. leadership at the time, who had their own agenda to follow, may not have wanted to capture Osama bin Laden too early in the game. After all, capturing bin laden would have severely limited support to push the war much further, and perhaps invading Iraq would never have come up as an opportunity.

It has always been a thought of mine that capturing or killing bin Laden and letting that news get out was the last thing the Americans wanted, especially early in the attack on Afghanistan. Since the premise behind sending troops to Afghanistan was obstentially to route out the al-qaida leader, it would seem to make sense they would want to get him early rather than later or never at all. However, as long as Osama bin Laden was alive and well, there is a reason for the ongoing Western military activities in the Middle East, and the motives of the American Government of the day for invading Afghanistan and later Iraq, remained....well...pure....certainly not about the oil reserves in Iraq, or controlling events in the Middle East.

You can read the Associated Press report, Here

What do you think? Is Osama bin Laden already dead? Or is he alive and well?
I watched an episode of the CBC Program, The Fifth Estate tonight called, The Unofficial Story hosted by Canadian journalist, Bob McKeown. The show brought forward many of the ideas and theories of the 9/11 attacks, interviewing some proponents of the 911 Truth Movement who are convinced that things are not all that they seem from 911. Of course, that is right up our alley here at Mysterious Societies, given that we have been thinking similar thoughts every since that fateful day. There are too many unanswered questions, too many pat answers and too many motives to ignore at least the possibility that the official story of the 9/11 attacks is a lie. A big lie....but a lie nonetheless......

Diverse Group of Like Minded People
According to Wilkipedia, the 911 Truth Movement is a "collective name of loosely affiliated organizations and individuals who question the mainstream account of the September 11, 2001 attacks" That to me is important, because it says it is not one group of like minded people who are joined in one idea. Instead it is what would describe as a 'diverse group of like minded people who share similar doubts and questions about what we have been told about 9/11.

By diverse, I mean diverse, but also prominent, well known people among the ones mentioned on Wilkipedia, are physicist Steven E. Jones, software engineer Jim Hoffman, architect Richard Gage, film producer Dylan Avery, former member of the U.S. House of Representatives Cynthia McKinney, actors Daniel Sunjata, Ed Asner, and Charlie Sheen, political science professor Joseph Diaferia and journalists Thierry Meyssan and Robert Fisk as being proponents of the 9/11 truth movement. These are not people without some credibility, and the fact that they are asking the questions that many of us ask, adds credence to the ideas we have.

David Ray Griffin and Richard Gage
Two of the proponents of the 9/11 theories I mentioned are David Ray Griffin and Richard Gage, who were interviewed on The Fifth Estate program men who have researched and investigated and written about the 9/11 attacks extensively, asking the questions that the government doesn't seem to be able or willing to answer.

David Ray Griffin has written extensively on the topic, including a book about The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions And Distortions that explains why the report is flawed, and doesn't give the truth.

U.S Government Responsible
These are the people who suggest that we have not been told anything near to the truth about 911 and point out the reasons why. Many of them also believe that members of the U.S. Government were "either responsible for or knowingly complicit in the September 11 attacks. Motives given include the use of the attacks to initiate the launch of wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and in creating the opportunities to curtail civil liberties." Which we now know, are exactly the things that happened after the 911 attacks. If that is true, then 911 was one of the most elaborate and also successful conspiracies the world has ever seen.

During The Fifth Estate program this evening, one of the themes that the "truthers" were bringing forward was that the attacks on the New York buildings were actually controlled demolitions of the buildings, caused by carefully planted explosives within the buildings which is why they fell in the straightdown manner that they did. Anyone who has seen a building demolished by controlled demolition will know that the buildings did seem to collapse in much the same manner.

Architects and Engineers
One of the persons interviewed on The Fifth Estate program is the Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth founded by Richard Gage, a San Francisco Bay area based architect. This is another organization who have questions about the conclusions reached in the 9/11 Commission Report. These folks tend to believe that the World Trade Center was destroyed by explosive demolition instead of planes.

Difficult To Prove
I've learned as I have written about conspiracy theories, that they are difficult to both prove and disprove. Whether we are talking about the Princess Diana Conspiracy, or the John F Kennedy Conspiracy, the truth is difficult to find, and as time goes on, it gets even worse. Stories change, interest wanes, people die or move on, taking what they know with them. And of course, if there are secrets, they are entrusted to only a few, and those few are apparently not taken to coming forward. When they do, another person comes forward with an opposing view to debunk the first.

The other problem is that these theories are often so fantastic they are difficult for everyday folks to absorb and believe. There are many, many people, who will never accept that the United States Government would do anything that would deliberately harm their citizens, regardless of what evidence they are shown. Let's face it, it is much easier to accept terrorists attacked New York without warning, than it is to consider that your own government orchestrated and killed thousands of it's own people to further political or financial goals.

Difficult to Keep Secrets
One of the things that makes many conspiracy theories, 9/11 included, hard to believe is that in order to pull them off, so many people would need to know, to be involved, and keeping them quiet after the fact has gotta be difficult. How do you keep someone with no vested interest, say a police officer, from figuring out something is really wrong with the official story, and therefore going public. You don't. You just debunk him if needed as a crazy person, or someone with an axe to grind. Or, you do what it seems to me they are doing, you ignore them, don't give them any attention, thus leaving their theories one sided and undefended. Much like the approach taken by the Masonic Lodge, Skull and Bones, and other secret societies, who, for the most part, don't spend much time defending or talking about their actions.

Orchestrated by The U.S.
One of the ideas put forward by the 9/11 groups is the possibility that only one plane actually crashed, and that one was filled with the folks from the other planes, who had been taken hostage, put on one plane which was ultimately sacrificed by being shot down. It's possible that the people on the plane, didn't know that the end result would be their death. The other planes that hit the building were either rockets, or remotely flown airplanes that were empty. I'm not sure I buy this one, but I'm not sure I don't.

Orchestrated by Bin Laden - Ignored by the U.S.
Another possiblity is that the attacks were orchestrated by Bin Laden, and the intelligence people let it happen, because they knew the results could be used to further their own goals. In other words, the terrorists played right into their hands. I find this one more credible, infact likely, although it too has flaws. We all know about FBI reports warning of the attacks that didn't surface until after the attacks, when it was too late. How many more of them exist or existed that will never see the light of day?

If you missed it, the full Fifth Estate, Unofficial Story documentary will be available on their website, Friday November 27th, after 11:00 p.m. Here is the link: The Unofficial Story You really need to watch this program, watch the interviews with folks like Daniel Sunjata, John Farmer, Steve Spak, Honorary Deputy Chief of the New York Fire Department. While you are at it, read the links to documents and 9/11 reports on The Fifth Estate site.
Books by David Ray Griffin
David Ray Griffin, a a retired professor of philosophy of religion and theology has turned his attention toward the 9/11 attacks and has written several books on the topic, some of which I have listed here. Griffin has become known as a "leading exponent of alternative theories questioning the mainstream conspiracy theories' account of the September 2001"
Like all of these lists, it is interesting to see who is listed and who isn't.
I'm talking about politicians, priests, ministers, billionaires, actors, celebrities, royal families, masss media, and such. It could be they are all linked under organizations like the mysterious Priory de Sion, or the Masonic Lodge, The Roscrucians, or any number of secret organzations, or perhaps none of them, perhaps it is something or some group outside of those we currently know about. It could be that there is a group, perhaps not known by any name at all, like the very mysterious Illuminati, who may or may not exist.

One thing we do know, not everything is as it seems, and not everything we are told is true, and we are not told everything.....

Now we hear President Obama talking rather openly about a 'New World Order' although it's not really clear what he means by that. We are fighting in the Middle East, where there has been fighting going on forever, and we have been fighting what we call 'terror' something that has become rather fuzzy in the last few years. Now we are faced with the year 2012, just two years away, a time that has been said to be the end of time, based on an ancient Mayan calander that supposed didn't go past 2012.

Researcher Mel Sanger, along with a team of 5 political research analysts have written a document that examined over 4000 pieces of documentation regarding the coming New World Order and the key people involved, both those in the public spotlight and others who remain behind the scenes. The purpose of the research was to see identify substantial links to Barack Obama or any of the key people associated with him, and to understand his political ideology, views on faith and morals and religious associations.

What Sanger and his associates discovered is interesting to say the least, whether or not you believe it, is up to you, but now is a good time to get this 150 page report and the 2 FREE additional reports, including a 30 page report detailing 15 essays from America's top political columnists on the dangers of the Obama movement. The only thing left for you to do is Click Here! to download and read the reports.

Now let me be clear. I am not condoning or agreeing with Sanger's report, anymore than I condone or agree with any book or video posted here. What I am doing is bringing these things forward as I find them, and providing you the opportunity to read the books or watch the videos and come to your own conclusions. I believe that there is more going on in the world than any of us understand, and I believe that with each of these books, movies, websites etc, a little more information and sometimes disinformation gets added to the puzzle. But it is people like you and me, those who are interested in these unexplained mysteries and hidden agendas that stand the best chance of learning what is really going on. Perhaps someday all of us will have the knowledge. ....

The Knights Templars In America and History

I write a fair bit about the Knights Templar or Order of the Knight Templars here on Mysterious Societies and their role in history and even current world affairs. One thing I have learned is that there is enormous Templar influence in very much, particularly here in North America, and in particular the United States, although Canada plays an important role as well, although less pronounced, at least for the time being. (Remember Oak Island)

The Templars, or offshoots or derivatives of them are probably the beginnings of the Masonic Lodge. In fact, no doubt there is a strong connection between the Knight's Templars and the Masons. It's difficult to be certain who came first, the Masons or the Templars, but rest assured there is lots of overlap between the two organizations.

What I find rather amazing is the lack of information or knowledge taught in schools about the Knight's Templars in history class, especially given their predominance in the discovery and likely settling of North America. For all intents and purposes, these are overlooked in school history books. Of course some of the reason why not much is said is because not much is known, and what is known is often not much more than speculation and conjecture, much of it unproven, which could explain the lack of school teaching about the order and it's role in history.

Thanks I believe in the most part to the internet and the sharing of information and ideas that goes online, some of that is changing. Of course, it is muddied by the often unsubstantiated writings, and often unknown sources, but by and large, there is more information available to us than ever before.

Take for instance the "Zeno Maps" which pretty much prove that when Columbus decided the world wasn't flat and set off to prove it, he already knew, having been privy to the earlier maps that showed a place on the other side of the world, a place that had already been "discovered" albeit by people not Christopher Columbus. By the way, there is also speculation that Christopher Columbus, was a member of the Knight's Templars, or at least connected to them, which would explain his knowledge of the round earth. It might also explain why he called the country America.

If it's true that Columbus was a member of the Templar Order, it explains how he may have come in possession of the maps and knew about the land on the other side of the ocean. It might also explain how the Scottish Knight, Henry Sinclair, of Roslyn, who was also connected to, if not a member of the Knight's Templars, found his way to America long before Columbus, some one hundred years before Columbus to be exact. I have speculated before that Sinclair either brought something to America with him, or came to retrieve something he knew was hidden here, which leads to the Oak Island "treasure" and so on.....

What this essentially means is that much of the history we are taught in schools is wrong, or at the very least modified to suit someone, to suit those who really don't want the masses to know the real story behind the discovery of North America, for reasons known only to those "in the know" which may actually be a very few people indeed, perhaps people who for reasons of their own, would prefer this not be common knowledge, even though most of it is there for anyone who is looking to see.

My point in all of this is to say that if you are interested in the study of history and the esoteric, and perhaps even more than that, you should learn about the public but yet very mysterious Knight's Templars.

You can read what I consider to be a very good history of the Knight's Templar order Here

-------------------------
