'''BuDhaGirl''' is a Dallas, Texas–based seller of bangles and other jewelry, most of which it sells directly to consumers through its own website. Its best-known item is the All Weather Bangle, a featherweight bracelet that can be stacked and worn in water. Jessica Jesse, who had worked as a model and later as a luxury retail manager, started the business in 2013.<ref name="jck">Dybis, Karen. Retrieved October 18, 2026.</ref> The company promotes its goods with a trademarked idea it calls "Mindful Glamour," in which putting on a piece of jewelry becomes a brief moment of intention and thanks.<ref name="home">[https://budhagirl.com/ "BuDhaGirl – Home of All Weather Bangles"]. == Background ==
=== Jessica Jesse ===
Jesse was raised between Austria and Mexico; she was born in Mexico City, the daughter of a Mexican mother and an Austrian father who worked in the hotel business. She started modeling at 14, was spotted by Hubert de Givenchy, and went on to close several of his shows in Paris. She also modeled for Calvin Klein and other designers. She attended Southern Methodist University and later completed a fashion merchandising degree at the Art Institute of Dallas.<ref name="jck" />

Over roughly 30 years in Dallas retail, Jesse managed Yves Saint Laurent and Valentino boutiques, oversaw the couture department at Saks Fifth Avenue, and led the personal shopping program at Neiman Marcus.<ref name="jck" />

=== Origin of the brand ===
While traveling in Thailand with her husband, Bill Jesse, she gave alms to Buddhist monks and was given ''sai sin'' bracelets in thanks. That exchange became the starting point for BuDhaGirl's first product.<ref name="jck" /><ref name="story">[https://budhagirl.com/pages/our-story "Our Story"]. ''BuDhaGirl''. Retrieved October 18, 2026.</ref> The company gives 2013 as its founding year.<ref name="story" /> A ''PaperCity'' feature marking the brand's tenth anniversary placed the launch in 2012, adding that contemplative practice had been central to the brand since February 2013.<ref name="papercity">Clark, Caitlin. Retrieved October 18, 2026.</ref>

== Company history ==
=== Local following ===
''PaperCity'' reported that BuDhaGirl stacks had become a fixture of how Dallas women dress. According to Jesse, about 60 percent of buyers were drawn by the brand's mindfulness message and about 40 percent by the look alone. The bangles drew wider notice when Randi Mahomes, mother of NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes, wore them to the Super Bowl in 2023.<ref name="papercity" />

=== Sparkling wine ===
The brand moved beyond jewelry on February 8, 2024, when it introduced BUDHAGIRL Sparkling Wines. The line consists of a Brut, a Demi-Sec and a Sparkling Rosé, made in Healdsburg, California, by Rack & Riddle using the méthode champenoise.<ref name="bw2024">[https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20240208083945/en/ "BuDhaGirl Expands Lifestyle Brand With BUDHAGIRL Sparkling Wines, a New Line of California Sparkling Wines"] (press release). ''BuDhaGirl''. Retrieved October 18, 2026.</ref>

=== Department store distribution ===
Dillard's started stocking BuDhaGirl in May 2025, both online and in stores across 14 states.<ref name="jck" />

=== Zen Collective ===
BuDhaGirl bought the French costume jewelry labels Kumali and ShanShan in December 2025 and set up Zen Collective, a Jesse-led holding company for luxury wellness brands. Under the plan, Kumali would become a BuDhaGirl collection and ShanShan would remain its own Parisian brand. The purchase added a Paris operation, and Zen Collective said it would open a multi-brand shop called Spirit & Nest on Bainbridge Island, Washington.<ref name="di2025">Engelland, Sandra. == Merchandise ==
=== The All Weather Bangle ===
Each All Weather Bangle is a ring of pliable tubing containing gold or silver leaf, closed with a bead the company calls the Serenity Prayer bead. Because the bangles are waterproof and almost weightless, they can be worn swimming, and they stay silent when stacked. Jesse says they do not trigger airport scanners.<ref name="jck" /><ref name="newtwist">[https://www.newtwist.com/an-afternoon-at-the-budhagirl-headquarters "An Afternoon at the BuDhaGirl Headquarters"]. ''New Twist''. Retrieved October 18, 2026.</ref> More than 20 artisans in Thailand work on every bangle.<ref name="home" /> They come in sets, usually of six or nine pieces, in over a dozen colors and a number of styles.<ref name="jck" /><ref name="home" />

The suggested routine is to slip on the bangles one by one each morning while setting intentions, and to take them off at night while giving thanks.<ref name="jck" /> Owners are also invited to pass a bangle on to someone else as an act of kindness.<ref name="newtwist" />

=== Additional products ===
The catalog now extends to rings, earrings, headbands, bracelets made with beads and gemstones, jewelry for men and for children, and accessories from India and Mexico.<ref name="jck" /><ref name="home" /> In addition to its own store, the company sells through spas; its partners have included Fairmont, Rosewood and The Peninsula Paris.<ref name="spas">Bemis, Mary. Creating user page for new user.

New page

I am Alberto Rosas, co-founder of Didit, an identity verification company backed by Y Combinator, and of Santé Clinics in Barcelona. I plan to write neutral directory listings for myself, my twin brother Alejandro Rosas, Didit and Santé Clinics. I have a conflict of interest with all four subjects and disclose it here.
