I confess... I am in T-R-O-U-B-L-E!!!

Sass is apparently entwined in my children's DNA. Lately it is showing up more & more in our little itty bitty. This little girl is quite the character. My middle one is a handful, my "challenge" as I have even called her BUT my youngest ooooohhh my youngest... If I didn't realize we were in trouble with the other two, I know it FOR SURE now with the addition of this one!

Yesterday morning while trying to change Aliya's diaper & get her dressed we had this conversation...

Me: Aliya, come here. (times 10 or so)

Me: Aliya, NOW! 5,4...

Aliya: Free, Two, One Blaaaast Off! (while giggling)

Me: Just come here! (she finally stands in front of me) Now put your arms up. (so I can take her shirt off)

Aliya: No mom, it's put your HANDS up Butterfly fly away, Party in da USA.

THEN at Amira's dance class she asked Daddy if he would take her out to the car so she could take a nap (pffft, yeah right like she would EVER really actually nap). I love the end when she is TELLING him that his lap is a seat & she CAN sit on it! Then she goes into the super sweet voice & says Hiiii Daddy. Oh this girl of mine...

My hubby just walked through the door. I look like poo. My nose is stuffed up. After he kisses me hello the following conversation happens.

Hubs: What's wrong with you?

Me: Uhhh, I can't breath.

Hubs: (so classic him) You know, back in the old country where they don't have medicine you know what they would do...

(I jump in laughing & finish his sentence) They would punch me in the face & clear it all up!

Hubs: Damn you, you have to ruin it for me don't you! I was trying to be serious.

Me: Ahhhhh, I know you too well. Plus, you couldn't have kept a straight face for much longer anyways.

This is real love people, real love! Seriously though, you have to have humor in marriage. Or maybe it's that you have to have humor to "get" him :)

Who knows??? I am a fly by the seat of my pants kind of mom. Very rarely do I have meals planned for all week. Do I love it when they are planned... YES! Why again don't I do this more often then???

{2} Share something you are currently looking forward to.
My trip to see my sister in Florida at the end of this month. I am travelling with NO KIDS for the first time since having them.... Ohhhh my gosh DO YOU EVEN KNOW how excited I am to go through the airport! Sad huh.

{3} What are your thoughts on re-gifting?
I don't re-gift. I don't have a problem with it & think that re-gifting is awesome if it is better suited for someone else. However, DO NOT EVVVVER re-gift something you tried but didn't like, that is tacky & rude.

{4} How often do you rearrange your furniture?
Never. I hate the set up & bitch about it A LOT but alas, I never do anything about it. Sigh...

{5} Share a picture from your cellphone or camera.

Aliya lined up the stools & laid on them. Then Aziza sat down next to her & started "reading" a book to her. Wonder if this is a glimpse into future therapy sessions LOL???

On our walk the other day the girls noticed this "waterfall" They were ooohhhing & awwweeing over it for a good 5 minutes. Pretty impressive huh! (hee-hee)

Today I am dreaming of warm Spring afternoons. I am anxious to get back to one of my favorite hiking spots, Silver Creek Falls. Miles of nature, peace, gorgeous scenery. Ohhh I love this place! The last time I got to spend an entire day here was back in August 2010. (Click HERE to see pictures) Not sure how I managed to not make the trip last Summer? I know for SURE that come Spring, this is the first place on my "to go" list.

Isn't it funny how someone can say something, text something or in this case email something that they probably thought was just a quick blurb but to you it made you stop & really, REALLY take it in. I'm not going to say who send it to me, although of course they will know when they read this, BUT because this has to do with religion & it can be such a taboo topic of conversation I'm going to keep it under wraps.

The comment was made after a back & forth email marathon on my Happy Birthday Jesus post. You see I am not a all consuming, holy rolly, super religious person. My mom was raised very very religious but did NOT raise us that way. Yes I went to church a lot when I was a kid, never with my parents though (isn't that weird), I also continued to go through middle & high school. As an adult I've gone through stretches of going every week to not going much at all. Now as a mom I haven't gone hardly at all. Do I want to? Absolutely! Sadly though I haven't found a church that my girls feel comfortable enough to be away from me. I've gone to the nursery with the younger one to still be able to go but have come across chatty woman who apparently do not understand the purpose of church... ummm hello be quiet so that I can hear the sermon through the speakers in the nursery DUHHH! So yeah I just don't go. However, I love the feeling of being in church. I love the feeling it gives my heart. Am I religious? I don't know, I don't know a ton about religion but I know that I believe. I know that I pray. I know one day I will be back in church & be sharing it with my girls on a more regular basis.

Wanna know the little sentence that got me emotional, got me feeling like Yeah, I'll get back there but in the mean time HE is & will always be right here with me...

" Just one small thing can start a lifetime of loving Jesus. Besides, religion sucks. Jesus is all we need! "

THANK YOU my friend for reminding me of that & for making me feel like I'm not a bad mom or a bad Christian! ♥

WWTK #42 - Uggghhh, such a CHORE!

(1) Fantasy style, money is no object, If you could pick one type of help which would it be? And why

A. A maid B. A nanny C. A personal chef
Duhhhhh isn't this a no-brainer??? I want all 3! If I could afford one I'm sure I could afford them all. Right? Ok ok fine, I'll play kinda by the rules & I'll tell you in which order I'd choose. #1 is A maid #2 - A Personal Chef & then rounding it up #3 A Nanny. I don't want someone else raising my girlies so the Nanny would just be for here & there times like when I need to run an errand or something. A Personal Chef would hopefully help me get my ba-donk-a-donk under control. Geez, I need some help in the chunky dept. I'm tryin but uggghhh it's soooo hard. The maid tasks though... I have no qualms WHAT-SO-EVER giving up!

(2) What is your least favorite household chore?
Putting away clothes. I don't mind washing & folding but putting away... gets the best of me every time!

(3) your least loathed ( or favorite) household task/ daily chore?

I wouldn't say any are favorite... most of the time I don't wanna do anything cleaning related. I soooo wish I got the "keep busy, always cleaning" gene. Sigh.

(4). What is your favorite cleaning supply? Do you have any magic cleaning tips to share with your readers?

Clorox Wipes. PERFECT for wiping off counters! My other fave is Green Works.

Tip: Oven cleaner takes off Kool-Aid stains. I haven't had to do this in forever since my counter tops are black, but back in the college, renting, white counter top days it worked like a charm!

(5). What is your usual housework avoidance activity? Besides playing along and linking up with the fabulous Mamarazzi, Queso and Crazymama for we want to know Wednesday?

Playing Wordfued on my phone, surfing the web or facebook... those 3 things can suck the time out of my day!

Only a few more back posts I promise. Thanks for baring with me while I get my "scrapbook" updated & in order :)

Every year on Christmas morning we start out by singing Happy Birthday to baby Jesus & then we celebrate with chocolate cake. We have been doing this since Amira was 2. We love this family tradition. This is another way that helps keep the focus on what truly is the reason for the season. Want to see how cute my ladies were the last couple of years? You can find prior posts HERE & HERE. This year Christmas snuck up on us. We were on our way to being completely prepared for Christmas about 2 weeks prior & then BAM it was Christmas Eve & I forgot to make a cake with the girls. Daddy saved the day & picked up cupcakes for us so we would be set for the morning celebration. Please excuse the paint on my wall. It was a casualty of my ~~not so~~ brilliant idea to paint pumpkins this year. Yeah, I've scrubbed & scrubbed and that paint ain't comin off. Uggghhh.

Auntie Myya's Christmas Light Adventure

Every year I gather up the local nieces & nephew and take them all to go see the Christmas Lights. We stop for Hot Chocolate before we hit the lights (which takes about an hour or so to drive thru). Then after we stop for Ice Cream.

This year I had my sisters feed their kids before I picked them up & this year we decided that we would dress them all in jammies. Once again we had an awesome time!!!

*** We also made a special stop this year to visit & sing Christmas Carols to Grammy. This is Grammy's first Christmas alone. Sadly Grandpa had to be put into a home a couple months ago because his dementia & wandering have gotten just too much for her to care for. She visits him every single day. She continues to cut his hair, eats meals with him & love him unconditionally. Definitely true love. Needless to say the stop to visit with all the Great Grand kids make her entire week! ♥

My car was filled to max capacity. Thank goodness for my Suburban! :)

{1} What is your favorite room in your house and why? Bonus points for a picture.
The Playroom. I love that it looks & feels like a fun place to be in. I love the polk a dots I painted on the wall & I love that there is a place for everything. Ironically this is also my arch Nemesis as well... when it is clean I am in love, when it is messy... good golly shut the door & don't let me see cuz it drives me NUTZ-O!!! (No picture because currently it is not my friend)

{2} What is your favorite time of day and why?
Depends on the day. Some days I love mornings... if I am staying home & being lazy all day I love the morning. Snuggling into the couch with usually at least one of my girls laying on me while I sip coffee. Other days, most days actually, Evenings are my calling. After I tuck my little ladies in bed & I just get to veg. Computer time, catch up on dvr'd shows time, hubby time (if he gets home early that is) I am definitely a night owl.

{3} What is your favorite genre of music (or band/singer) and why?
I don't have one. I like music, any kind. I usually am not a big fan of country but then again there are songs I love. In my car & on my iPod I have mostly Pop/R&B stuff.

{4} What is your favorite "go to" snack? Is it something you keep on hand?
Here are a few & yes, I usually have these on hand... COLD chocolate, Jerky, Raw Almonds, Fiber One Bar & Fruit

{5} What is your favorite form of exercise or way to keep moving?

Sex... What? That is exercise! Unfortunately because we have a teeny tiny little 2 year old that can literally sense her daddy the second he walks in the door from work & then ends up coming to bed with us, almost every single night, this form of exercise does not happen near as often as either of us would like it to. Soooo alas the ever loyal treadmill is what gets my vote.

Walgreens - Doing right by their customers

For the past year Walgreens and Express Script have been negotiating a new contract that would keep them as part of their pharmacy provider network.

These negotiations however were unsuccessful and as a result their former contract expired on December 31st, 2001.

The problem with this, for the customer, is that patients with certain prescription coverage provided through Express Script have to change pharmacies to find one that is in-network so that the cost of their prescriptions don't go up. Who wants to find a new pharmacy! I know that for me pharmacies are like doctors, dentists, favorite shopping spots, you find one that is a great fit & you don't want to change a good thing! Not to mention who has the time or patience to go through the hassle of it all?

The frustrating part of all of this is that Walgreens did not want to raise their prescription rates. They even told Express Script that they would keep their rates flat with no increase, yet negotiations still failed. Lame right!

Patients need their medications. So now where will they get it? How much will the prices go up? Express Script wants customers to use their own mail order pharmacy business instead of your community pharmacy whenever possible, but for so many people this is not a convenient option. This could also threaten local drugstores. We need our local drugstore, everyone I know has had an experience one time or another that they have had to visit the drugstore at 2:00 am after an emergency room visit with their child.

Through all of this Walgreens, in my opinion is coming out the bigger person, they are doing everything & more to make this transition less disruptive & more convenient whenever they can for their customers. Walgreens has unveiled an effort to make this transition as smooth as possible & is doing all they can to help patients continue to use Walgreens when at all possible. Among some of the steps Walgreens is taking they are offering a special discount on their annual membership for Walgreens Prescription Savings Club. An individual can join for only $5, or $10 for a family, and receive savings on more than 8,000 brand name and all generic medications. Cost for this program is usually $20 for an individual and $35 for a family. You see, they want to ease the burden on their customers. They want them to not have their prescriptions go up, they want them be allowed to continue to see the pharmacist that they have a trusting relationship with.

Bravo Walgreens for helping their customers avoid the burden that failed negotiations could put on them.

Are you KIIIIDING me! or SEEEERIOUSLY!

{2} What random question do you usually get from strangers or casual acquaintances?
I've had people ask me to feel my face. Ummm weird right. Usually I have a really nice complexion & apparently it looks soft?? It hasn't happened in a long time so apparently age & stress is catching up to me.

{3} Did you ever correspond by mail with anyone, who? Do you still have the letters?
The Summer after my 5th grade year we moved about an hour away. I would send & get letters from my bf all the time. I don't have any of them left though. We only lived there for 2 years & then we moved back to our tiny town, where I am now.

{4} Do you dance in public? why or why not?
If the mood hits then heck ya! I've been known to do it in the middle of an aisle in a grocery store. Although, I definitely am not as crazy or random as my sister Shana. Also (with a few drinks) I can hit any dance floor & tear it up.

{5} What is your favorite kind of chapstick/lip balm?
Any kind of chapstick will do. I LOOOOOVE me some Chapstick! I am never without it & usually I have at least 2 tubes in my purse at ALL TIMES!

You wondering why I am singing this little ditty?

Well let me tell you....

I am LOVING that things are falling into place for my Summer plans. My usual Summer plans of course consist of fun day trips with my girls, my sisters & all the cousins, camping with the family in August & hopefully lots of lake trips with my sisters family but what I don't usually get to do is actual trips. Well this Summer I do...

In June Mimi & I are going to road trip to Utah to meet and stay with Xazmin. Shortmama herself will also be road tripping & meeting us there. We are going to have 10 days of Awesome Girl time. Ooohh & while we are there we are TOTALLY going to meet Evelyn also. I seriously SEEERIOUSLY love these ladies & cannot wait to spend time with them. The only thing that could possibly make it even better was if Sami somehow gets to come as well so that I can meet her too.

THEN

In July MiMyMa is ON! This year because we are traveling to go see Xaz & Shortmama & obviously do not want to subject our kids to 2 separate LOOOONG road trips Mamarazzi & her sweetie hubby Big Daddy are coming our way. We are renting a beach house & then will also be showing them around our hood. The beach will be full of awesome shopping (Tax Free Hollla), yummy food, fun beach time with the kids & Coco of course and lots of late nights chatting away. Our hometown visits (how Bachelor does that sound?) will be full of meeting family, friends & basically just basking in the lifelong friendship that we have made.

The other day we were in Target. We get to the aisle we need & OF COURSE someone needs to go to the bathroom. It was Aziza so I couldn't just have her hold it, she isn't quite so great at the holding thing. So off her & I head to the bathrooms (luckily Sammer was with me so I left the other 2 with him). As we are walking, CLEAR across the store, she steps in front of me numerous times causing me to stumble every single time. Finally on say the 7th time I say

"Ohhhh my gosh Z, as I put my hand on the top of her head to steer her to the side of me instead of right in front of me, you cannot walk in in front of Mommy honey, I am going to trip over you & it will hurt us both if I fall."

I do not say this in a mean voice & definitely not even very loud. She smiles big & says OK mom sorry. I grab her hand & we continue on. No more then maybe 3 steps we take do I hear from behind me 3 teenage girls (maybe 15ish) say:

"OOOOOOHHHH MYYYY GAWD MEAN MOMMY!"

I was stunned. It took every single ounce of willpower I had not to turn around & give them a tongue lashing. Aziza did not hear them so I did not react, boy are they lucky because on any other given day I totally would have!

Can I just say what bratty snotty disrespectful girls they are!!! I mean I was by all means not the perfect teenager, quite the contrary actually. I was a smart mouthed brat as well but I would have never NEVER disrespected an adult, ESPECIALLY a mother properly disciplining her child.

I can tell you right now that I WILL NOT stand for it from my girls & even more so if their Daddy ever caught them acting like that they would not be allowed to leave the house!

So I ask you... is this normal? Am I overreacting? Are most teens like this now-a-days? Do you think it is acceptable?

AND one more vent... I started blogging again & LOST a follower. Odd no? LOL.

Halloween

Yep Halloween... Bear with me, I'm playing catch-up the next ~~quite a~~ few posts.

The girls look forward to Halloween so that they can wear their prior year ballet costumes. This year they tossed around the idea of what they wanted to wear. Only Amira actually ended up wearing hers. Because they were all in the costumes I did an impromptu photo shoot. Only one ended up being serious, it turned silly really quick.
