The Best Man 2......in the making

2011-10-13T04:56:00.000-07:00

I am super excited about this sequel, Malcolm D. Lee the original director of "The Best Man" (filmed in 1999) has gotten the green light from Universal Studios to make "The Best Man 2" original cast and all. Taye Diggs, Nia Long, Morris Chestnut, Terence Howad, Sanaa Lathan, Harold Perrineau, & Monica Calhoun. Last year there were pics of the cast reuniting after 12 years, and rumors were going around about the movie, but it now they have the green light to GO and I cant be any happier.

Universal has set Malcolm D. Lee to write, direct and produce Best Man 2, a sequel to the 1999 film. Lee wrote and directed the original, a comedy in which a writer (Taye Diggs) is preparing to be the best man for his football player buddy (Morris Chestnut), but the timing is bad because the writer’s autobiographical novel is about to pop and it describes how the best man bedded the bride. Terrence Howard, Harold Perrineau, Nia Long and Sanaa Lathan also starred. The original grossed $35 million. Lee’s plan is to ask the original cast to reprise; in fact, I’m told the whole idea came out of a reunion dinner he held with most of the cast members, and they sparked to the idea of a re-team and so did the studio.

Its so much that could have happened, did Lance and Mia's life move on, did she find out that he knew about her and Lance, Did Jordan find a man through it all, is Murch still with Candy, How did Quentin and Shelby turn out after sleeping with each other the night of the wedding. OMG I cant wait!!!

Angela Simmons & Bow Wow in Miami

2011-09-19T19:34:00.000-07:00

Last weekend Angela Simmons celebrated her 24th birthday, and she had a cutie by her side...it was her ex-boyfriend Bow Wow. I think they are so cute!!!! She was in Miami, hanging out with her girls and her ~~boo,~~ her friend Bow.

OK so that was Angela and the crew on Saturday, and on Sunday.......

Bow and Angela meet up on the beach to chill out and enjoy each other...

whats the real reason why her and Bow broke up....

Sources say, the reason why they are not together is for the obvious, Bow got someone else pregnant, and Angela was up set. Bow have declared his love for Angela on his latest mixtape, saying that he will always love her...how cute <3 <3

They are such a cute couple, I think Angela can show him how to humble himself and be a little more grounded, not saying he comes from a dysfunctional home, but Angela's father is the Rev, where morals and values come first...just my opinion......

2011-09-13T20:01:00.000-07:00

OMGeeeeeeee Dondria ripped this song in half I love to hear young talented singers, who don't get much much clout or publicity because they are not considered mainstream, but she is very talented, and have a very soulful voice. By the way Dondria is Jermaine Dupri's artist on SoSodef, she was discovered from YouTube, and I know she will go far, that voice is amazing...

Too Risky for a 10 year old??????

2011-08-06T16:09:00.000-07:00

French Vogue magazine was hit with major criticism when they put a spread of this 10 year old model in adult clothing and make up. Some people feel like its exploiting young children, in a sexual manner. Thylane Loubry Blondeau is shown wearing heavy make-up, haute couture and heels, while showing off seductive pouts and poses for the camera, and many believe that this is going to give even younger girls a misrepresentation of how they should look

There was a feminist that was extremely upset with the pictures:
Chloe Angyal:“This isn’t edgy. It’s inappropriate, and creepy, and I never want to see a nine-year-old girl in high-heeled leopard print bedroom slippers ever again.”
According to an Associate Professor of Psychology at Arizona Sate, photos like these are easy bait for a child pornographer:“Any creepy child pornographer could plead ‘artistic license. [The photos] clearly create an image of the girl as an adult woman, both in the clothing, the postures and emotional content of the images. The message is that very young girls can be dressed and viewed as young adult women.”

My opinion: ummmm I think it is a bit risky to expose a child in an adult magazine for adults. But their (french) culture and ethics are so much different from America. We also have to remember that Kimora Lee started modeling at the mere age of 13 for Chanel, Tyra Banks at 15, but they had to go oversees to make a mark for themselves because we are(America) opinionated it would not be accepted her. If their parents would not have stuck their necks out to help their daughters model with top fashion designers like Chanel, they would not be the women that they are now.....but that's just my opinion

Brandy on 90210 & a new documentary

2011-08-06T15:07:00.000-07:00

Brandy will be coming back to the small screen in on the CW network for 90210, she will play:

Marissa Jackson-Lewis, a charismatic young politician running for congress in California against Teddy’s (Trevor Donovan) conservative uncle. “She’s a cross between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama,” notes a source close to the show. “She’s inspirational but with a drive to get the job done.” To that end, Marissa hires Silver (Jessica Stroup) to create a video campaign to reach the youth vote

Brandy will also have a mini series about her journey in life, the evolution of Brandy. The accident, Dancing with the Stars, the break up with her fiance, and falling in music.

SN:I love Brandy she is a hometown girl and is not shame to admit her mistakes. I think this series will give people a better outlook on her as a person. I also know when she comes out with her album it will be a major deal in R&B.....check out the trailer

Mary J . Blige......VH1 Behind the Musc 7/24

2011-07-23T05:16:00.000-07:00

Behind The Music is moving to Sundays starting with this week’s premiere of the can’t-miss Mary J. Blige episode. In this sneak peek, Blige reveals how her budding romance with now-husband Kendu Isaacs inspired her to combat her worsening alcohol abuse. “The best thing you can do to me? Challenge me to challenge myself,” she says, and that’s exactly what Isaacs apparently did for her. She attributes her success to “willpower” and “prayer,” and admits, “It was hard.”

http://www.vh1.com/video/misc/674747/behind-the-music-mary-j-blige-sneak.jhtml#id=1666165

Throughout the episode, Mary opens up and get very personal about issues ranging from molestation at the age of 5 to physical abuse in her adult relationships.

Here are some select quotes from the episode:

On her adolescent years
“By the time we moved to Yonkers, to Schlobohm [Projects], it was just, you know, every man for themselves. It was like survive or die. All the women around were being beaten by men, their self esteem was low; these are the women you’re watching every single day. I’ve seen women destroyed, I’ve head their screams thru the walls as a child from being abused by men. And so that really made everything worse. By the time I was a teenager I was crazy.” – Mary J. Blige

On being molested as a child
“When I was 5 years old I was molested and just, you know. I remember feeling, literally right before it happened, I just could not believe that this person was going to do this to me.…That thing followed me all my life The shame of thinking my molestation was my fault. It led me to believe I wasn’t worth anything.” – Mary J. Blige

Puffy, on working with Mary while at Uptown Records
“I remember when Mary came in, everything was so glamorous in R&B. I was looking at Mary like, trying to make her glamorous would be the wrong move. She was raw, she represented the streets, so I wanted her image to reflect that. That’s why we went to the combat boots. I wanted her to represent a girl from the hood.” – P. Diddy

On hitting rock bottom
“The problem had snowballed into this thing that was bigger than me. It was bigger than me. And it was definitely going to kill me. So I was like this is it and let’s go. And I remember sitting on my bed. I swear, I don’t know what death feels like, but I felt like my spirit was trying to leave my body. And I was crying, and I was going please God, no no, not now, I don’t want this. I prayed, like I remember saying a prayer I said God, send me someone to help me.” – Mary J. Blige
On trading alcohol for love with Kendu Isaacs
“And for some reason, I needed that. Because he asked me, you know, why are you drinking? Ding! Answer, you hate yourself. So it was the questions that made me say eureka. Why you drinking? I hate me. Why do you hate you? You’re supposed to love you? That day was the beginning of our friendship, and him talking to me and helping me. I have a life right now. I have a life because of that phone call.” – Mary J. Blige
