The next event for NCCPE Public Engagement Ambassadors is taking place on Thursday 26th June, and will be hosted by the University of Leeds. The day will run from 10.30am – 4pm, and will include a showcase of some of the public engagement activities underway at Leeds, an opportunity for networking and a session in the afternoon on a choice of topics listed on the booking form.

Jisc's new guide 'Developing Community Collections' is an online guide for beginners which highlights the key issues to bear in mind when creating and setting up online community collections.

A community collection is where content is created and shared by individuals or groups to form an online digital resource. Online community collections can be developed through partnerships between universities, colleges, libraries and museums and a wide range of communities, including local groups, schools, heritage organisations, employers, and the public at large.

Science and Society Community Challenge Grant Scheme

This new grant scheme offers financial support to individuals and organisations to create and run pilot projects which take science to diverse audiences, and engage them with science in their own communities.

The scheme aims to:

reach audiences of all ages and from all walks of life that are currently under-served by existing activities and inform, inspire and involve them in science
investigate and test new methods of engagement and participation.
