New Release: Rare Plants of North Carolina - Federally listed species and their congeners, Version 1.0

We've released version 1.0 of 'Rare plants of North Carolina - Federally listed species and
their congeners'. Thank you to all who contributed to the work (please see our extensive Acknowledgments)!
This resource has been optimized for viewing on various mobile and desktop devices, and should be accessible on all
major mobile and desktop browsers. The resource is also downloadable as an app for Android-based devices
(http://herbarium.ncsu.edu/rare/rare.apk). You may need to allow installation of "non-market" apps in your mobile
device Settings. We appreciate that there are issues with fragmentation with Android and so would appreciate any
feedback regarding failure of the app to install (email to: Alexander_Krings at ncsu.edu). In this case, please let us
know what device and version of Android you are using. A native app for iPhone/iPad is in the works. Happy botanizing!

Pitcher perfect! Identifying pitcher plants in North Carolina, Version 1.0

This resource was designed for really anyone interested in learning how to distinguish between the different species of one of our most remarkable groups of native plants. The tool is rather non-technical and relies heavily on images. Users can scroll through an illustrated list of species or use the illustrated key to be visually guided through the identification process. The tool is optimized for delivery on most major browsers, whether mobile or desktop. An Android version is available for download from our web site http://herbarium.ncsu.edu/keysetc.htm. You may need to change your device's settings to allow installation of "non-market apps". We are aware of fragmentation issues with Android and would appreciate feedback (incl. device and OS version) if installation fails. The app should work for Android version Froyo (2.2.x; API 8) and higher (incl. Gingerbread, Honeycomb, and Ice Cream Sandwich). An iPhone/iPad version is in the works. Have fun!
