When you’ve already won four Super Bowls and built a reputation as one of the most dominant tight ends in NFL history, what’s the next challenge? For Rob Gronkowski, apparently it’s high-stakes poker in Las Vegas.

The former Patriots and Buccaneers star recently made his high-stakes poker debut on the popular cash game show PokerStars The Big Game on Tour, going head-to-head with some of the biggest names in the poker world.

In the opening episode, which debuted on PokerStars’ YouTube channel, Gronk found himself sitting across the table from 17-time World Series of Poker champion Phil Hellmuth and high-stakes poker pro Antonio Esfandiari, along with sports broadcaster Nick Wright and rising poker talent Rania Nasreddine.

From Gridiron Battles to Poker Bluffs

Anyone who watched Gronk dominate linebackers and safeties during his NFL career knows the guy thrives on competition. Now he’s trying to bring that same mindset to the poker table — even if reading a bluff is a little different from reading a defense.

“I always wanted to be the best on the football field, I’ve got the competitive spirit and I want to win,” said Gronk. “I was a professional athlete so I’m trying to get into the professional ranks again and I’m gonna do here at this big poker game and I’m gonna take down the pros.”

Of course, Gronk being Gronk, the table wasn’t all serious business. The future Hall of Famer mixed in plenty of jokes and trademark energy while trying to keep a poker face and battle for pots worth thousands of dollars.

A Star-Studded Poker Table

The lineup Gronk joined included a mix of poker legends and well-known personalities:

Phil Hellmuth – 17-time World Series of Poker champion

Antonio Esfandiari – One of poker’s most recognizable high-stakes players

Rania Nasreddine – A rising star in the poker world

Nick Wright – Sports broadcaster and analyst

Luke Waekelin – A “Loose Cannon” qualifier who earned his seat online

The show blends professional poker players with celebrities and amateur qualifiers, creating a unique mix of skill, ego, and high-stakes drama.

Sports and Poker: A Natural Crossover

Gronk’s appearance highlights the growing connection between professional athletes and poker. Both games require a mix of psychology, risk-taking, and performing under pressure – skills Gronk clearly relied on throughout his NFL career.

Whether that translates into success at the poker table remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Gronk definitely brought some extra entertainment value to the game.

New episodes of PokerStars The Big Game on Tour will continue to roll out weekly on YouTube through early April.

Less than two weeks after celebrating a second Super Bowl championship, the Seattle Seahawks are officially on the market.

On Wednesday, the Estate of Paul G. Allen announced it has commenced a formal sale process for the reigning Super Bowl champions, fulfilling Allen’s long-expressed directive that his sports holdings eventually be sold and all proceeds directed to philanthropy.

The announcement comes just 10 days after Seattle’s 29-13 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium – a rare instance in league history where a Super Bowl champion begins formal sale proceedings in the same year as its championship triumph.

Under terms laid out by Allen’s will and confirmed by the estate, investment bank Allen & Company and law firm Latham & Watkins have been retained to lead the multistep sale process. The timeline is expected to stretch through the 2026 NFL offseason, with a final purchase agreement requiring ratification by the league’s ownership body before it is completed.

Allen purchased the franchise in 1997 for $194 million and became a pivotal figure in Seattle sports, famously keeping the team in the city and overseeing more than two decades of growth and on-field success. The Seahawks have reached the playoffs numerous times under his stewardship, including three Super Bowl appearances and two Lombardi Trophies.

Since Allen’s death in 2018, control of the franchise and the Portland Trail Blazers has been in the hands of his estate, led by sister Jody Allen. The estate’s stated intention has been to sell both professional teams and use the proceeds to fund broader philanthropic efforts, a directive now moving forward in earnest.

According to industry estimates, the franchise’s value has soared into the billions. Forbes most recently pegged the Seahawks at around $6.7 billion, with some analysts stating the actual sale could approach or exceed $7 billion, figures that would place Seattle among the most valuable sports franchises in North America.

If that valuation holds, the transaction would surpass the $6.05 billion price paid for the Washington Commanders in 2023 and could rival other record sales like the Boston Celtics franchise deal from 2025.

The sale process officially beginning now reflects both the legal structures surrounding NFL ownership and the practicalities of Allen’s will. Under league rules, an estate cannot serve as the controlling owner indefinitely, so putting the team on the market satisfies both NFL policy and Allen’s philanthropic goals.

For Seahawks fans, the prospect of new ownership brings a mix of curiosity and emotion. The Allen era is deeply entwined with the team’s identity, from historic playoff runs to the passionate “12s” culture that has made Lumen Field one of the loudest homes in football.

While there has been years of speculation about the Seahawks’ eventual sale, the timing, coming off a championship season, provides a financial and symbolic backdrop that could drive significant interest from potential buyers. Names mentioned in industry circles include tech executives and billionaires with ties to the Pacific Northwest, though no formal bids have yet emerged.

Seattle’s leadership structure, from general manager John Schneider to head coach Mike Macdonald, remains in place, and the team plans to continue its offseason operations as normal. That includes navigating free agency, contract negotiations with key contributors from the Super Bowl roster, and other roster moves that will shape the 2026 campaign.

Whatever the ultimate sale price, the transaction marks a major chapter in Seahawks history. The franchise’s rise from a small-market NFC team to Super Bowl champion and multibillion-dollar asset reflects broader shifts in NFL economics, but also the impact of Paul Allen’s decision to invest in and grow the team.

For Seattle and its passionate fanbase, the hope now is that the next owner respects the culture Allen helped foster, one rooted in competitive spirit, community identity and a connection to the city that stretches far beyond Sunday afternoons.

Defense carried the Seattle Seahawks to the top of the NFL once again.

Twelve years after winning their first Super Bowl behind a dominant defensive unit, the Seahawks leaned on a familiar formula Sunday night, overwhelming rookie quarterback Drake Maye and the New England Patriots in a 29-13 victory in Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium.

Seattle’s defense controlled the game from start to finish, sacking Maye six times, intercepting him twice and forcing a fumble in a performance that left little doubt about the outcome well before the fourth quarter. Defensive lineman Uchenna Nwosu’s 45-yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter effectively sealed the win, pushing the Seahawks’ lead to 22-0.

The victory gave Seattle its second Super Bowl title and provided a measure of closure following its painful loss to New England 11 years ago, when a last-minute interception at the goal line ended what appeared to be a championship run. This time, there was no late drama required.

The Seahawks forced eight punts and allowed the Patriots to cross midfield just three times — once on the opening drive and twice in the fourth quarter, after the game had largely been decided. New England did not score until the final period.

Seattle struck first with an efficient opening drive that ended in a 33-yard Jason Myers field goal. Myers accounted for all of the Seahawks’ first-half points, connecting from 33, 39 and 41 yards as Seattle built a 9-0 halftime lead.

Kenneth Walker III was the engine of the offense, finishing with 135 rushing yards and adding 26 receiving yards. His runs of 30 and 29 yards early in the second quarter helped set up Myers’ second field goal and kept Seattle in favorable down-and-distance situations throughout the night.

Quarterback Sam Darnold’s numbers were modest (19 of 38 passing), but he avoided mistakes and made timely plays. After Seattle recovered a Maye fumble late in the third quarter, Darnold connected with tight end A.J. Barner, who slipped behind the defense for a 16-yard touchdown that made it 19-0.

New England’s defense kept the game from turning into a runaway early. Cornerback Christian Gonzalez broke up multiple passes in the first half, including a deep shot intended for Rashid Shaheed and a goal-line throw to Jaxon Smith-Njigba just before halftime. Smith-Njigba, who was named Offensive Player of the Year last week, was limited to four catches for 27 yards on 12 targets.

Smith-Njigba briefly left the game in the third quarter after taking a hard hit but returned in the fourth.

Still, the night belonged to Seattle’s defense, which drew comparisons to the “Legion of Boom” units that led the franchise to back-to-back Super Bowl appearances in 2013 and 2014. The similarities were not accidental.

Like those earlier teams, this group is guided by a defensive-minded head coach. Mike Macdonald, hired in 2024, was encouraged by team chair Jody Allen and general manager John Schneider to maintain the identity that had long defined Seahawks football.

“That’s something that Jody and John felt strongly about,” Macdonald said earlier in the week. “Our spirit is kind of unique to us. It’s evolved, but it’s still rooted in the foundation of the Seahawks that people are familiar with.”

Seattle’s recent drafts played a major role in the championship run. Cornerback Devon Witherspoon, safety Nick Emmanwori, defensive end Derick Hall and defensive tackle Byron Murphy (all 25 or younger) were central figures in Sunday’s win. Hall and Murphy each recorded two sacks, consistently collapsing the pocket around Maye.

The Seahawks also blended youth with experience, adding veterans who fit seamlessly into the roster. Wide receiver Cooper Kupp, released by the Los Angeles Rams in the offseason, led Seattle with six catches for 61 yards. Linebacker Ernest Jones, another former Ram, led the team with eight tackles.

For the Patriots, the loss denied the franchise a chance at a seventh Super Bowl title. Still, the season marked a clear step forward after several years of instability following Tom Brady’s departure.

First-year head coach Mike Vrabel helped restore structure and identity. Maye, the 23-year-old quarterback, led the NFL in completion percentage (72%) and passer rating (113.5) during the regular season and showed poise throughout the postseason run.

Seattle, meanwhile, found redemption with Darnold, who spent years searching for consistency after being drafted third overall by the New York Jets in 2018. Darnold threw 14 interceptions during the regular season but finished the Super Bowl without a turnover.

Darnold said earlier in the week that learning to move on from mistakes was the biggest lesson from his early career struggles.

On Sunday night, Seattle didn’t need perfection. Its defense delivered dominance — and another championship followed.

In a bold move to counter the NFL’s Super Bowl LX halftime spectacle headlined by Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny, conservative nonprofit Turning Point USA (TPUSA) launched its inaugural “All-American Halftime Show” on February 8, 2026.

Billed as a celebration of “faith, family, and freedom,” the event streamed primarily on YouTube, drawing millions of viewers who sought an alternative to what some conservatives decried as “woke” programming. With performances from country and rock heavyweights Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett, the show aimed to evoke traditional American values.

However, it quickly became a flashpoint in the ongoing culture wars, sparking debates over xenophobia, authenticity, and political messaging. As seen in the embedded video of the full show, it was a 30-minute production that blended music, tributes, and subtle jabs at contemporary social issues.

The Show: A Pre-Taped Patriotic Spectacle

The All-American Halftime Show aired coinciding with the Super Bowl’s intermission at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Originally planned to stream on multiple platforms including X (formerly Twitter), TPUSA announced hours before kickoff that licensing restrictions prevented streaming on the Elon Musk-owned site, redirecting audiences to YouTube and the Christian network TBN. The production, which appeared live but was later reported to have been pre-taped in Atlanta, featured a small audience in an undisclosed venue (estimated at fewer than 200 people), creating an intimate, rally-like atmosphere.

Viewership peaked at 6.1 million concurrent watchers on YouTube during the head-to-head overlap with Bad Bunny’s performance, with total views surpassing 19 million by the next day. This paled in comparison to the official halftime’s record-shattering 135 million viewers, but TPUSA hailed it as a success for conservative counterprogramming. The event included donation prompts for TPUSA, tying entertainment to fundraising for the organization’s youth activism and conservative causes.

The Musical Guests: Country Stars and a Rock Icon

TPUSA’s lineup leaned heavily on artists with conservative appeal, delivering a mix of hits, covers, and originals that emphasized Americana themes. The performers were announced just days before the event, building anticipation among right-leaning fans.

Brantley Gilbert: Kicking off the show, the Georgia-born country rocker set a defiant tone with “Real American” and his chart-topper “Dirt Road Anthem.” Gilbert’s gravelly voice and patriotic lyrics aligned perfectly with the event’s ethos, earning cheers for lines evoking rural pride and resilience.

Gabby Barrett: The American Idol alum brought a softer touch with her breakout hit “I Hope” and “Good Ones.” Barrett, known for her faith-based music and family-oriented image, represented the “family” pillar of TPUSA’s messaging, performing with poise amid the event’s charged atmosphere.

Lee Brice: Brice delivered “Drinkin’ Class” and “Hard To Love,” but the highlight was his debut of a new song, “Country Nowadays.” Dedicated to TPUSA’s late founder Charlie Kirk, it included pointed lyrics like “little boys ain’t little girls,” interpreted by many as a nod to anti-trans sentiments. This track underscored the show’s subtle political edge.

Kid Rock: As headliner, the Michigan native closed with his rap-rock staple “Bawitdaba” and a cover of Cody Johnson’s “‘Til You Can’t.” Entering in jorts and a fedora, Rock promised a “classic rock, in-your-face” set for those who “love America, love football, love Jesus.” His performance drew scrutiny for apparent lip-syncing during “Bawitdaba,” with social media users noting mismatched audio and visuals.

The setlist avoided overt controversy in song choices but leaned into themes of hard work, faith, and national pride, reminiscent of old-school CMT specials.

The Messaging: Faith, Family, Freedom—and a Tribute to Charlie Kirk

At its core, the All-American Halftime Show promoted a vision of America rooted in conservative ideals. TPUSA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet described it as having “no agenda other than to celebrate faith, family, and freedom,” positioning it as a wholesome alternative to the NFL’s halftime. Performances included nods to Christianity, traditional gender roles, and patriotism, with Brice’s dedication to Kirk—a vocal conservative who passed away in 2025—adding an emotional layer.

The event emerged from years of Kirk’s criticism of Super Bowl halftimes, evolving into a formal counterprogram after Bad Bunny’s announcement sparked outrage among conservatives. President Donald Trump himself dismissed Bad Bunny as a “terrible choice,” fueling the narrative that the official show was anti-American. TPUSA’s production avoided direct attacks but implicitly contrasted with Bad Bunny’s Spanish-language set and pro-immigrant stance.

The Controversy: Culture Wars, Accusations, and Backlash

While TPUSA touted the show as unifying, it ignited fierce debate. Critics labeled it a “MAGA grift” and “xenophobic stunt,” born from discomfort with a Latino artist performing in Spanish. Bad Bunny, a U.S. citizen from Puerto Rico and critic of ICE and Trump policies, became a symbol of the divide, with figures like Megyn Kelly calling his performance a “middle finger to the rest of America.”

Kid Rock’s involvement amplified scrutiny, as lyrics from his 2000 song “Cool, Daddy Cool” resurfaced, referencing underage girls and prompting accusations of hypocrisy in a “family-friendly” event. His alleged lip-syncing further fueled mockery, with “lip-sync” trending on X.

Political commentator Candace Owens accused TPUSA of inflating viewership numbers, calling it a “scam” despite the organization’s claims. The pre-taped revelation added to perceptions of inauthenticity. Supporters praised it as a “real” American alternative, while detractors dismissed it as “cringe” and divisive. Even country star Zach Bryan called it “embarrassing as hell.”

A Divided Reception and Lasting Impact

TPUSA’s halftime show underscored America’s cultural fractures, offering a glimpse into parallel media ecosystems where entertainment doubles as political statement. For conservatives, it was a win—boosting donations and visibility. For critics, it exemplified exclusionary nationalism. As debates rage on social media, the event may inspire future alternatives, proving that even halftime can become a battleground for hearts, minds, and wallets.

The Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show on February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, marked a groundbreaking moment in entertainment history.

Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, became the first Latin artist to headline the event with a performance delivered predominantly in Spanish. The 13-minute spectacle was a vibrant explosion of reggaeton rhythms, cultural pride, and high-energy choreography, drawing an estimated 135 million viewers and setting a new record for the most-watched halftime show ever. With its mix of hit songs, surprise celebrity appearances, and pointed social messaging, the show not only entertained but also sparked intense debate, underscoring the intersection of music, politics, and identity in modern America.

The Show: A High-Octane Tribute to Puerto Rican Roots

Bad Bunny kicked off the performance emerging from a field of sugarcane stalks, symbolizing Puerto Rico’s agricultural heritage and colonial history. Dressed in an off-white custom Zara outfit, including a jersey emblazoned with his last name “Ocasio” and the number “64” (a nod to Puerto Rico’s area code), he commanded the stage with unapologetic flair. The setlist was a career-spanning medley, featuring fan favorites like “Baile Inolvidable,” “DtMF,” and other tracks from his discography, blending reggaeton, trap, and Latin pop into a seamless, dance-driven narrative.

The production was visually stunning: Dancers in colorful costumes evoked Puerto Rican festivals, with pyrotechnics, laser lights, and massive LED screens projecting images of the island’s landscapes and flags. A particularly memorable moment came when Bad Bunny orchestrated a live wedding for a couple on stage, signing their marriage license himself as a witness—a heartfelt gesture that added a personal, romantic touch to the extravaganza. The energy was infectious, turning the stadium into one massive party, with the crowd chanting along despite the language barrier for many non-Spanish speakers. As one reviewer noted, it was a “joyful celebration of Latino heritage” that transformed the Super Bowl into a global cultural event.

Surprise Guests: A Star-Studded Latin Extravaganza

No Super Bowl halftime show is complete without cameos, and Bad Bunny delivered an all-star lineup that amplified the show’s themes of unity and diversity. Ricky Martin, the trailblazing Puerto Rican icon, joined for a high-energy duet, bringing his signature charisma to the stage and paying homage to Latin music’s evolution. Lady Gaga made a show-stopping appearance, collaborating on a remix that blended her pop prowess with Bad Bunny’s urban beats, creating an electrifying crossover moment that had the audience roaring.

Cardi B and Karol G added fierce feminine energy, rapping and singing alongside Bad Bunny in segments that highlighted empowerment and Latinx representation. Young Miko, an up-and-coming Puerto Rican rapper, brought fresh vibes with her trap-infused verses, representing the next generation of talent. Non-musical celebrities Pedro Pascal and Jessica Alba appeared in choreographed skits, emphasizing cultural pride—Pascal, known for his Chilean roots, and Alba, with her Mexican heritage, added Hollywood star power. Social media influencer Alix Earle rounded out the guests, engaging in dance routines that bridged pop culture and digital fame. These appearances weren’t just cameos; they reinforced the show’s multicultural ethos, with each guest contributing to a narrative of shared Latin American identity.

The Messaging: Love, Unity, and a Stand Against Division

At its core, Bad Bunny’s performance was more than entertainment—it was a statement. The artist, known for his activism, wove messages of inclusion throughout the show. He proclaimed, “Together, we are America,” a direct call for unity in a divided nation, especially resonant amid ongoing debates over immigration and cultural representation. Closing with the line, “The only thing more powerful than hate is love,” Bad Bunny spiked a football in triumph, symbolizing resilience against adversity.

This messaging drew from Bad Bunny’s Puerto Rican roots, transforming the halftime into a revolutionary showcase of the island’s history and culture. Elements like the sugarcane field and references to Puerto Rican icons highlighted themes of colonialism, identity, and pride, making the performance a subtle yet powerful commentary on Latino contributions to American society. For many viewers, it was an uplifting affirmation; for others, it felt politically charged, especially given Bad Bunny’s past criticisms of U.S. policies toward Puerto Rico and immigration.

The Controversy: Backlash from Politics to Language

The show didn’t come without its detractors. Even before kickoff, Bad Bunny’s selection sparked outrage from conservative figures. Former NFL player Jack Brewer called it “lunacy,” criticizing the NFL’s diversity efforts. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and Trump adviser Corey Lewandowski threatened heightened ICE presence at the event, slamming Bad Bunny for his anti-ICE stance and decision to avoid U.S. tours due to immigration fears.

Post-performance, President Donald Trump labeled it “absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER” and a “slap in the face to our country,” echoing complaints that the predominantly Spanish-language set alienated English-speaking audiences. Critics on social media decried it as an “abomination,” frustrated by the lack of English lyrics. In response, Turning Point USA hosted an alternative “All-American” halftime stream featuring Kid Rock and others.

Despite the backlash, supporters praised the show for its authenticity and boldness, arguing it reflected America’s diverse fabric. The controversy only amplified its reach, with the full performance racking up over 30 million YouTube views in its first day.

In the end, Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show was a triumph of cultural expression, proving that music can bridge divides even as it ignites them. Whether viewed as a party or a protest, it undeniably left an indelible mark on the Super Bowl legacy. For the full experience, check out the embedded video of the entire show below.

Walking around Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium today, you’ll find the usual overpriced concessions – $8 waters, $19 beers and $36 team-themed specialty cocktails. But the item that has got everyone talking is a massive $180 “Hammer Burger”, becoming a viral talking point among fans, social media users and even a few who indulged despite themselves.

The burger, officially called the LX Hammer Burger, is the brainchild of Levy Restaurants, the hospitality partner handling food and beverage operations for the NFL’s biggest night. They designed it as the centerpiece of a premium, Bay Area–themed menu crafted specifically for this Super Bowl experience.

It’s hardly a typical stadium burger.

Clocking in at about 3.5 pounds and priced at $180, the LX Hammer Burger was built to feed multiple people rather than a single fan on the walk from the parking lot to the stands. Instead of a standard patty, it uses a braised bone‑in beef shank as its center piece, served on a salt‑dusted brioche bun with a generous pour of Point Reyes blue cheese fondue and a rich roasted mirepoix demi‑glace layered on top.

The bone itself juts out through the top of the bun, a visual cue that this isn’t your average game‑day bite.

Levy Restaurants capped production at 200 burgers for game day, making it one of the rarer concessions’ offerings available anywhere in the stadium. According to concessions workers on the general admission side of Levi’s Stadium, they were selling surprisingly well, with only a handful left.

To be clear, paying $180 for food meant to be shared doesn’t come as a shock to long‑time Super Bowl attendees. Tickets for the championship game sold for hundreds (in many cases thousands) of dollars over face value, and getting into the “big game” atmosphere has long meant a premium experience in and out of the stands. But the sheer price tag on the Hammer Burger — more than the cost of most full meals at sit‑down restaurants — still inspired plenty of conversation.

The $180 LX Hammer Burger

Would you pay $180 for the Super Bowl SUPER burger? pic.twitter.com/tPjmHWVPSc

— Yahoo Sports (@YahooSports) February 8, 2026

Social media lit up with reactions ranging from delight to disbelief. Some fans embraced the novelty, sharing photos of the oversized sandwich and filming themselves trying to work through its impressive heft. Others, incredulous at the idea of paying more for a burger than many American households spend for a full dinner, joked about the cost and its place in stadium culture.

Critics pointed to the price and the unconventional presentation, a burger that might require a knife and fork as much as two hands, and questioned whether it should be considered a “burger” at all. Supporters, meanwhile, highlighted the quality ingredients like the slow‑braised beef and artisanal blue cheese, along with the sense that Super Bowl concessions are evolving beyond hot dogs and nachos into something closer to a culinary showcase.

The Hammer Burger didn’t exist in isolation. Levy’s menu for Super Bowl LX included a number of other elevated items meant to reflect local Bay Area flavors and premium dining trends, from garlic‑heavy steak frites to Chinatown‑inspired street dog riffs and locally influenced seafood options. A sourdough cinnamon roll with spun sugar, cheekily dubbed the “San Fran Sticky Roll,” and crab‑topped nachos also figured into the broader experience.

Part of the conversation around the Hammer Burger also touched on charitable support: a portion of the proceeds from its sale at the Future Farmers of America stand helped benefit FFA programs, adding a community element to the indulgence.

In a way, the Hammer Burger has mirrored the Super Bowl itself – a spectacle meant to merge sport with entertainment, culture and conversation. Whether fans thought it was a delicious splurge, a clever bit of marketing or simply an example of over‑the‑top pricing, there’s no denying it became a part of the story of Super Bowl LX.

And in an event where every moment, from the kickoff on the field to the food in the stands, is under the microscope, the LX Hammer Burger is just one more thing about Super Bowl LX that people will be talking about long after Sunday night.

For the first time in 11 years, the Seattle Seahawks are headed back to the Super Bowl.

On Sunday at Lumen Field, the top-seeded Seahawks weathered a late rally from the Los Angeles Rams and emerged with a 31-27 victory in the NFC Championship Game, punching their ticket to Super Bowl LX against the New England Patriots on Feb. 8 in Santa Clara, Calif. It was a finish befitting a rivalry that’s produced some of the most memorable games between NFC West foes in recent seasons.

Seattle’s offense was led by veteran quarterback Sam Darnold, who completed 25 of 36 passes for 346 yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba was his primary target, hauling in 10 catches for 153 yards and finding the end zone in a performance that kept the Seahawks ahead in crucial moments.

The Seahawks drew first blood early. Running back Kenneth Walker III opened the scoring with a 2-yard rushing touchdown, giving Seattle an early 7-3 lead. Kicker Jason Myers added a field goal later in the first quarter. The Rams answered with a pair of scoring drives but couldn’t shake the Seahawks, who reclaimed the lead on Darnold’s 14-yard scoring strike to Smith-Njigba with just 20 seconds remaining in the first half. Seattle took a 17-13 advantage into the locker room.

Momentum shifted in the second half on special teams. A Rams punt return miscue allowed Seattle to recover the ball deep in Los Angeles territory. On the very next play, Darnold found Jake Bobo for a 17-yard touchdown, pushing Seattle’s lead to 24-13. The Rams responded with a quick scoring drive, but Seattle wasn’t done. Darnold connected with Cooper Kupp for a 13-yard touchdown to make it 31-20.

Los Angeles kept fighting. Quarterback Matthew Stafford, playing in what could be his final game as a Ram, threw for 374 yards, three touchdowns and kept the Rams within striking distance. A drive capped by a Puka Nacua touchdown made it 31-27 late in the third quarter and set the stage for a dramatic finish.

With just under five minutes to play and the Rams facing fourth-and-4 from Seattle’s 6-yard line, Los Angeles elected to go for the lead. But Devon Witherspoon, one of Seattle’s rising defensive stars, broke up Stafford’s pass in the end zone. The Seahawks’ defense held and, after chewing up most of the remaining clock, Seattle closed out the win as time expired with the Rams pinned deep and unable to regain momentum.

Defensively, Seattle showed resilience when it mattered most. Witherspoon’s late pass breakup was just one of several key plays by a group that has improved steadily throughout the season. That unit, paired with a balanced offensive attack, ensured that the Seahawks controlled enough of the game’s key phases to keep the Rams from taking over outright.

The victory marked the Seahawks’ fourth NFC Championship Game win, and importantly, their fourth trip to the Super Bowl in franchise history. Seattle is now 4–0 in NFC title games at home, a testament to the strength of this team in high-stakes settings.

Homefield advantage was evident throughout. The Seahawks finished the season with a 14-3 record and used that strength to throttle their way through the playoffs, including a 41-6 win over the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round. In the NFC title game, Seattle’s ability to sustain offensive drives at critical junctures — and make timely defensive plays — ultimately made the difference.

For the Rams, the loss brings an end to a promising season that saw them return to deep playoff contention for the first time since their Super Bowl-winning campaign in 2021–22. Stafford and his stars gave everything they had, but in the end, costly special teams errors and a staunch Seattle defense proved decisive.

Seattle now turns its attention to Super Bowl LX, where it will meet the AFC champion Patriots – a rematch of an earlier era of NFC–AFC showdowns. The Seahawks and Patriots last met in the league’s biggest game over a decade ago, and this time Seattle arrives with confidence built from a balanced, veteran-led roster and one of the more complete seasons in recent franchise memory.

Darnold’s journey, his first Super Bowl after 8 NFL seasons and stops with multiple teams, speaks to the resilience that has become a hallmark of this Seahawks squad. And while the regular season and playoffs have tested Seattle at every turn, the payoff is clear: a return to football’s big stage, with aspirations of lifting the Lombardi Trophy.

Seattle fans won’t soon forget Sunday’s performance. A close, physical NFC title game, capped by key plays and steady leadership, has set the stage for Super Bowl LX. And if the Seahawks’ run this season has shown anything, it’s that they are built to compete when everything is on the line.

The Patriots are heading back to the Super Bowl, and they did it the hard way.

In a classic AFC Championship Game fought through snow and wind at Empower Field at Mile High, the New England Patriots held off the Denver Broncos, 10‑7, Sunday afternoon to secure their trip to Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, Calif. It was a defensive battle defined by weather, discipline and a timely mix of grit and execution.

Early on, neither offense found much traction. Denver struck first, punctuating its opening possession with a six‑yard touchdown pass from backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham to receiver Marvin Mims, giving the home team a 7‑0 lead in front of a raucous, snow‑flecked crowd. The Broncos were filling in for injured starters and testing New England’s resolve from the outset.

But the Patriots slowly mounted a response. Young quarterback Drake Maye, making his first AFC Championship start, found a way to manufacture offense even as the elements worsened. With snow piling up and visibility dipping, the Patriots leaned on a methodical ground game and Maye’s athleticism. On a key second‑quarter play, Maye kept the ball himself, rumbling six yards for New England’s lone offensive touchdown and tying the game at 7‑7 just before halftime.

Neither team clicked through the air consistently. Maye completed only 10 of 21 passes for 86 yards, credited with neither turnover nor surrendering points directly from mistakes. But his legs (10 carries for 65 yards) kept New England moving when passes were hard to connect. Meanwhile, Denver’s offense, facing its own weather issues and missing key playmakers, managed just 133 passing yards and was unable to convert enough late to pull ahead.

Defense was the story in the second half. Rookie kicker Andy Borregales got the Patriots on the board again with a 23‑yard field goal midway through the third quarter, snapping a scoreless stretch and giving New England a 10‑7 edge they would never relinquish. Both teams struggled to sustain drives in the blizzard‑like conditions, trading punts and long punts on punts while the snow continued to fall.

Late in regulation, as Denver made its final push, New England’s defense delivered when it mattered most. Cornerback Christian Gonzalez hauled in a crucial interception with just over two minutes remaining, halting the Broncos’ last serious threat and turning the tide firmly back to the Patriots. With the ball in hand and the crowd noise growing, Maye took over on the ground, picking up a clutch seven‑yard run on third down that allowed New England to bleed out the clock and seal the victory.

New England’s win was its 12th conference championship in franchise history, extending its lead atop the NFL record books. For a team that finished just 4‑13 a season ago, the turnaround has been remarkable. The Patriots finished the 2025 regular season at 17‑3 and now enter Super Bowl LX with momentum born of tough, physical performances against top defenses in every round.

Head coach Mike Vrabel, in his first season leading the Patriots, has instilled a mix of discipline and resilience that showed up on Sunday. This group has leaned on a strong defense throughout the playoffs, holding opponents to limited yardage while finding just enough offense to win close games. And in Denver, that formula worked again.

Maye’s development has been a key storyline. At just 23 years old, he became the 2nd‑youngest quarterback to start a Super Bowl, a list that includes only a handful of names in league history. His ability to adapt, especially in challenging conditions like those at Mile High, reflects a maturity belying his years.

Running back Rhamondre Stevenson also played a stabilizing role, grinding out tough yardage to keep the chains moving and give the Broncos’ defense something to defend even when passing was impractical. Combined with New England’s defense, which forced timely stops and took advantage of Denver’s miscues, the Pats earned a hard‑fought win.

For the Broncos, it was a valiant effort that fell just short. Denver’s hopes of reaching a first Super Bowl since its 1998 season hinged on a few key plays that didn’t break their way, including the late interception and the Patriots’ ability to control field position when it mattered most. Still, the season showed promise for a rebuilding franchise.

Now New England turns its attention west. In two weeks, at Super Bowl LX on February 8, the Patriots will face the Seattle Seahawks – a familiar foe with their own defensive pedigree and championship aspirations. It’s a matchup that bridges eras: the Patriots of recent resurgence against a Seahawks squad riding a wave of momentum and balance.

The road here wasn’t easy, and Sunday’s win might not be remembered for fireworks or gaudy stats. But in a game defined by weather and defense, the Patriots did exactly what they needed to do: make critical plays at critical moments and close out a title opportunity with poise. Now, they’re once again in the hunt for football’s biggest prize.

The first teaser for the upcoming football biopic Madden just dropped, and if you’re an NFL fan, it’s the kind of 40 seconds that immediately grabs your attention and refuses to let go.

Released by Amazon MGM Studios on Christmas Day, the teaser gives fans their first real look at the story of legendary coach and broadcaster John Madden — a man whose fingerprints are all over the modern NFL.

And the biggest shock? Seeing Nicolas Cage completely transformed into Madden.

From the quick flashes we get, Cage looks eerily convincing as the Hall of Fame coach, capturing the larger-than-life presence that made Madden a sideline icon and later a broadcasting legend. Opposite him is Christian Bale as former Raiders owner Al Davis, and if the teaser is any indication, the dynamic between the two could end up being one of the film’s biggest strengths.

The movie promises to follow Madden’s journey from Super Bowl-winning coach with the Oakland Raiders to trailblazing broadcaster and the face behind one of the most successful sports video game franchises ever created. For a generation of fans, Madden wasn’t just a coach — he was the voice of football on Sundays and the name on the cover of a game that helped shape how people experience the sport.

The supporting cast is stacked, with John Mulaney, Kathryn Hahn, Sienna Miller, and Shane Gillis all joining the project. Behind the camera is director David O. Russell, known for character-driven hits like The Fighter, American Hustle, and Silver Linings Playbook. His track record suggests this won’t just be a standard sports biopic, but a deeper look at the personality and drive that made Madden a household name.

Madden’s real-life résumé reads like a Hollywood script on its own. During his decade as head coach of the Raiders, he reached seven AFC title games and won the Super Bowl following the 1976 season. His .759 winning percentage remains the best among NFL coaches with more than 100 games. After stepping away from coaching, he became the premier television analyst of his era, winning 16 Emmy Awards and calling 11 Super Bowls across four networks.

The film is slated for release on Thanksgiving 2026, and if the teaser is any hint, it’s shaping up to be one of the must-see sports movies of the year. For football fans who grew up hearing Madden break down plays or button-mashing their way through countless games bearing his name, this biopic feels less like a movie and more like a celebration of a figure who helped define the sport for decades.

If the full film delivers on the energy and nostalgia packed into that first teaser, “Madden” could end up being as memorable as the legend it’s honoring.
