It is time to get ready for the Sept race weekend which will be held Fri, Sat, and Sun, Sept 20, 21, and 22.

Our volunteer deadline with the track is Sept 1st  and we have again told the track that we would provide workers as follows Fri 20, Sat 35, and Sun 65. I have already started the list and need to expand it rapidly as the deadline will be on us before we know it.  As this is Sept and most of our younger, Rainbow, workers have gone back to school, it is difficult to fill Friday’s number. I would appreciate more adult help on that day.

Please indicate which days you can work and any special request such as gate, need to leave early and which group you are donating your time to: NH OES, NH Rainbow etc. Please be aware that gate requests may not be honored as the needs of the track are priority. I am also on Facebook and you can message me there also.

As my current plans are to be away during the July 2014 race, I would like to have a couple of people who would like to be trained to become the race chairman for that race.

I am looking for a helper, or two, or three (lol) for the craft table.  Sister Mary Jannenga was going to be Sister Pat’s page, but is unable to attend, Sister Gini Mitchell is Sister Cindy’s Page (or is it Gretta) and Sister Judy Grace is Brother Des’ Page.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated – hard for one person to do.  Anyone who would be willing to help, even if just for a bit here and there, please email me at washburnfamily1@yahoo.com.

I hope to have the table open Thursday evening from about 6:30 on, not sure how late.  Friday morning by 7:00 or 7:30 and Saturday morning after the PAGO’s breakfast.

It’s been a busy spring and summer for me, how about you? Have you been crafting away? Grand Chapter is just over two weeks away, and approaching fast. Can you believe it?!?!?

Please let me know if you Chapter will be donating a basket. Baskets from individuals, or groups, are always a welcome addition.

Along with the craft table, and basket raffles, there is supposed to be a silent auction again this year, so plan on bringing lots of $$$$! lol

I will be at the hotel on Thursday morning, setting up, so you can drop things off then. If you need to have something picked up, please let me know. I will be leaving home Wednesday morning and can make some stops on the way down. I can also pick up quilts or afghans.

Here is information for those Sisters and Brothers volunteering at the NASCAR races.

Check In Times:  as last year, check in with Sister Jean Van Stelten both days – Sat at 7:15, and Sun at 7:00. Sister Jean will be at a table at the main gate in front of the main building.  Please don’t be too early as you will have to wait to check in for your gate assignments. Remember, you have to check in each morning on the days you work.

Dress code: tan or khaki shorts or pants/slacks with sneakers or work shoes. No sandals or open toe shoes are allowed.  A work shirt will be provided when you arrive.

Make sure you bring food for yourself as there will be only 1 food voucher provided.  Also bring sunscreen and water to keep yourself hydrated.

Parking:  Make sure all members of your group are aware of these directions.  Directions can be downloaded here. 

Remember we are represent our various bodies, let’s put our best face on.

If you encounter any problems while working please let me know. I cannot resolve issues unless I know about them.

 I just wanted to let everyone know how I am doing so if you wouldn’t mind posting this on the OES news I would appreciate it: I was admitted Friday night due to a rash that was not responding to antibiotics. They determined it was cellulitis and I have been here since and hope to be released tomorrow. I have been on IV treatments and oral antibiotics and if I do ok with just the oral today, I may get to go home tomorrow. They still have no idea what caused this.

The decision was made at our annual meeting that all life members should be issued a life membership dues card as was done years ago. In order to accomplish this, the association needs a complete list of all members.

Unfortunately some of our records from the past were destroyed. We need to ask all who joined the association (that is if you have not already done so) to send the secretary their name and address. Members who were paying dues at the time we changed to life membership were all made life members and should also send their name and address to the secretary.

It would greatly be appreciated if members with e-mail addresses would also send their e-mail address to the secretary.
