Our monthly Mega Crop is this, Friday 27th January from 6pm. Six hours of full on scrapping, paper crafting, fun and conversation. Stay for the full six hours of come for just a couple if you wish. Suitable for beginners and advanced scrapbookers as you will be using the time and tables to work on your own projects with the friendly assistance of our crop tutors.

Happy New Year!
Hope you had a fab holiday period and are feeling enthusiastically crafty. I know I am! While I may bemoan the weather (though thankfully the sun is out - finally- here in Auckland today), this grey wet few weeks has meant I can get a little more craft organized, inspired and fingies gluey!

Perhaps you may be looking for a little creative jump start, one of our new seasons classes might be just what you need. There will be lots to be involved in and starting over the next month but for now we have the favourites up and running which are sure to get the creative juices going.

Thursday Night Crop: Started again last week with a lovely group. ALL welcome. Crop begins from 6pm till 10pm to work on your own projects and are a great way to be inspired, get pages done and make new friends.
Tuesday Daytime Crop: Every Tuesday from 10am - 2pm. Relaxed and friendly daytime crop.
Mega Crop: Last Friday night of every month. 6pm - Midnight. Six hours of cropping madness.
Altered Book and Journal Club: Once a month on a Thursday night. This month its 26th January at 6.30pm and we are doing an Artist Trading Card exchange. Create 12-15 ATC's on a colour scheme (some of our regulars already know there colours) to exchange on the night. For more information phone 09 912 0665. Free to attend.

Merry Christmas from the team at NZ Scrapbook!

It's around this time that we start seeing reviews of the year. The media highlights the ups and and downs and 2011 sure has had its share of those. Life at NZ Scrapbook is no exception. In the past year we have had close to 200 craft classes, exciting product launches, events both in the store and out. Along with that there have been challenges around our premises and a difficult retail climate. This week we wish my brother (past staff member David) well as he enters marriage, we have family members coming from overseas, have watched as family members welcome new babies into the world and have said our goodbyes to the passing of friends. As they say, such is life.

Whether you know it or not you are also part of our NZ Scrapbook life. Your continued support means we can offer the very best paper crafting products in a dedicated space where you are always welcome.

We wish you a most wonderful Christmas, stay safe, hug your family and enjoy an extra helping. You deserve it!

Sweet Nothings is a beautiful range that includes cherubs, flowers, butterflies and birds in a dream of soft pastel pinks, blues and greens. Perfect for wedding, special occasion or to highlight a special photo.

During the evening you will create this lovely layout, be the first to see the new Sweet Nothings collection, recieve a free gift and enjoy a light supper.

Artist Trading Cards from our bird theme swap

Hi arty dudes and dudettes,
Last Thursday we hosted Altered Book Club and this month we did something a little different by including an Artist Trading Card Swap. The resulting cards that each participant bought are fantastic! Artist Trading Cards really are mini masterpieces.

Our theme was Birds and the interpretations were many and varied. From Dodo's to birdcages, music and feathers. Thank you to everyone involved!

It was such an enjoyable evening we have decided to do another Artist Trading Card Swap for December. You are invited to join in. The upcoming theme is Storybook. Interpret any way you wish... From Harry Potter to Dr Suess, Wizard of Oz to Thomas the Tank Engine - it's up to you how you represent the theme in your Artist Trading Cards. The main criteria is the size. 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" and don't forget to include your series title and personal details on the reverse.

The due date for this swap is Thursday 15th December. With the Altered Book Club meeting for exchange at 6.30pm. Please make 12 or so cards to exchange.

The popular star book workshop run this month was a sold out success. By request for those who were unable to make it we have squeezed a daytime and evening time slot to run before Christmas. Suitable for beginner and experienced paper crafters. All welcome!

Christmas Star Book Workshop

Date: Monday 5th December at 10am and Thursday 8th December at 7pm

Class fee: $25 including materials
Please bring: Basic kit (scissors, pencil, ruler, paper trimmer) and adhesives

Great for teachers gifts, a special album to post, or to create a Christmas or family display book. The star shape looks beautiful when open and has beautiful stitched spine detailing when closed. You will create this Christmas star book with its coloured pages and patterned covers in this workshop. Embellishments not included in this class.
