Ministramos no dia 18/02/2013 uma palestra sobre o Sistema de Cultivo da Mamona para agricultores familiares que trabalham com a cultura da mamona no povoado de Canoão de Ibititá cidade de Ibititá - BA.&nbsp;</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> O tema apresentado foi o sistema de cultivo da mamoneira para o semiárido com ênfase no cultivo da região de Irecê - BA. </div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> Na palestra realizada foram abordados como assuntos principais a conservação e o manejo dos solos, a importância do cultivo de variedades adaptadas ao semiárido como as cultivares de mamona da Embrapa Algodão&nbsp; (BRS Nordestina, BRS Paraguaçu, BRS Gabriela e BRS Energia) e o manejo correto do uso do consórcio da mamona versos culturas alimentares. Em Central, a palestra foi realizada na Sede do Sindicato com 17 participantes presidente de associações dos povoados desse município. Em Canarana, o povoado de Cansanção reuniu 17 agricultores familiares e em Ibititá, no&nbsp; povoado de Meios reuniu 22 agricultores familiares. Aos 92 dias após a germinação o racemo primário encontra-se quase que totalmente seco, ou seja, no ponto de colheita, caso o agricultor queira colher. Essa variedade apresenta a vantagem de seus frutos não abrirem em campo, assim, o agricultor pode esperar que todos os racemos fiquem secos para que possa realizar uma única colheita. É uma nova máquina criada pelo Sr. Gilson Dourado para descascar todas as variedades de mamona. Quando a BRS Energia foi lançada em 2007, haviam um entrave para que essa variedade fosse cultivada em maior escala na microrrregião de Irecê, maior produtora de mamona do Brasil.&nbsp;</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> Esse entrave era porque a variedade BRS Energia apresenta frutos indeiscentes, ou seja, que não abrem quando seco, consequentemente maior resistência ao descascamento.&nbsp;</div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> Então, foi necessário desenvolver um novo modelo de máquina para resolver esse entrave. Assim, o Sr. Gilson Dourado solucionou o problema com o lançamento de uma nova máquina para descascar as cultivares indeiscentes, bem como qualquer outra, com ajuste para se adequar a qualquer tamanho de sementes.
