Blue Mountains: Three Sisters - Tamil names?

Introduction:

I recently had an opportunity to visit the Blue Mountains, 86 km away from Sydney. That was our (I & my wife) second visit to a place outside the Sydney city. At first, we reached Katoomba town and then a few places in and around the mountain area. Our mode of transport was Train, which took roughly 2 hours and 30 minutes to reach the Katoomba station.

Blue Mountains Explorer:

We purchased one day unlimited Scenic World ride tickets and hop-on-hop-off pass (3 days unlimited rides) for A$99.

We were greeted in தமிழ் (Tamil) by the bus driver Mr. Jimmy. He enquired us about the origin and the mother tongue, for which we replied as India & Tamizh. Initially, I thought these questions were related to some data collection, statistics, and analysis.

During the journey, Mr. Jimmy announced that "We have two friends from India and they speak Tamizh" and surprised us by saying "Vanakkam Guys" in typical English ascent.

We all know how Tamizh is being treated outside Tamilnadu(in India) and when you hear someone who's nowhere related to you or your country greets in your language, I couldn't control myself from shouting out of joy, however, I forgot to click a photo with Mr. Jimmy was just a shame. Thanks to Blue Mountains Explorer service for giving us a homely welcome and I truly appreciate the effort put by all drivers to greet all the travelers in their language.

Katoomba Station:

Thanks to NSW service for maintaining the Rail service and ensuring the connectivity and the quality. The train journey was smooth and was on time. To get the train timings you can either visit the official NSW website or download the Trip View Lite app.

Katoomba:

Katoomba developed as a popular mountain resort town in the early part of the 20th century, a process aided by the advent of regular train services along the current line. The town reached an early heyday in the period between the wars, attested to today by the numerous examples of art deco architecture and shop fronts along the main street of the town. (Ref: WikiTravel)

Scenic World:

Scenic World Blue Mountains is a private, family-owned tourist attraction located in Katoomba. They have 4 discovery options.

1. Scenic Railway

The Scenic Railway is used for tourism from 1945 onwards. Until that it was used to carry the coal during the weekdays and passengers at the weekend. The incline is 52 degrees with a total distance of 310 meters which is 1020 feet above the sea level. The ride was one of the scariest and a top-rated ride.

2. Scenic Walkway

Scenic Walkway is the best way to explore if you're fit an can walk for more than 4-6 hours. In that, you can visit The Ruined Castle, hiking, or explore the regular walkway.

3. Scenic Cableway

Scenic Cableway was my second favorite ride after Scenic Railway ride. It was scary and fun at the same time when you ride from the top to bottom, but it was pretty ordinary when it was the other way. It's a sin to not to mention the astonishing view of the mountains from the cable car.

4. Scenic Skyway

Scenic Skyway was my least liked ride because It was good, enjoyable, however, it didn't entertain me like the other options. The highlights of this ride were the fabulous mountain view, the transparent glass floor. I would recommend you to get in as early as possible to avoid the unbelievable crowd.

Honeymoon Lookout:

After spending quite some time in the mountains, you might tend to get bored with spectacular views; likewise, I'm no different.

Leura Cascades:

This is the best places for trekking and to get a fantastic view of the waterfalls. Also, don't miss to see the manmade caves.

Echo Point - The Three Sisters:

The last topic I have to share with the public is about three sisters.

Who are they?
What are their names?
What's their story?

In the above three pictures, the three vertical mountains are called Three Sisters. According to the legend, the three sisters namely Meehni, Wimlah, and Gunnedoo lived in the Jamison Valley as members of the Katoomba tribe. These three beautiful ladies fall in love with three brothers from the Nepean tribe, but the tribal law prohibited their marriage. The Similarities:

Katoomba is a derivative of the Aboriginal word ‘Kedumba’ meaning ‘shiny, falling waters’ after the natural beauty of the area.

Katoomba - Kedumba - Kadamba - Kadambam - கதம்பம்

In Tamizh (Tamil) the meaning for Kadambam is (பல வகையான) பூக்களும் இலைகளும் வேர்களும் ஒன்றாகத் தொடுக்கப்பட்ட சரம், Flowers, Leaves, and roots are tied together which looks like a waterfall.

The other meaning of Kadambam is everything together. In this instance, the trees, roots, flowers, fruits, mountains, waterfall, everything together called Kadamba.

Now let's concentrate on the names of the Three Sisters. As I already mentioned, the names of the three mountains are Meehni, Wimlah, and Gunnedoo.

Meehni - Meehna - Meena - மீனா / மீனாள்
Meaning: A girl's eye is as beautiful as a fish. மீன் போன்ற கண்கள் உடையவள் - மீனாள்
Even today the name Meena is popular in India, especially in Tamilnadu.

Wimlah - Wimla - விமலா
Meaning: Clean attitude or pure and it depends on the context.

Gunnedoo - Well, this name was difficult for me to get a proper Tamil name. But, after a few days of continuous thinking and few Google search I came up with the following:

Gunnedoo - Gunnadu - Gonmadi - கோன்மதி / கோமதி

Here கோன் / கோ both denotes King. மதி is knowledge. So the meaning of this name is The king of Knowledge or a Knowledgeful person.

Do I have a proof for these name transformations? My answer is a big NO.

Then what is the purpose of this article?

Well, it's simple. In my point of view, Many aboriginal words have the same meaning as in Tamil just like the similar words between Tamil and Korean, Tamil and Basha Indonesia, Tamil and Malay, Tamil and Cameroonian, Tamil and Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada, Tamil and Telugu.

Conclusion:

I've started to read about the migration that took place many thousand years ago from India to Australia.

Is there any proven evidence that the Indigenous people's language related to Tamizh by any means? Did they speak Tamizh? Did they carry the language this far? Is there any research related to this topic? Will anyone believe if I say that most of the aboriginal city names have the same Tamizh meaning? Is Tamizh a world language?

Too many questions I've asked and here's my final question, what do you think about this? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

DESCRIPTION:

This city had existed(was formed) under the geographical classification of “Vikramacholavalanaattu mannaikonda cholavalanaatu ponparappi”. In this significant temple, King Gangaikonda Choleeswaramudaiya Naayanaar had conceived a special puja ritual and an auspicious day named as “Sundarapandiyan sandhi”. He also donated and contributed taxes received from many cities under his rule for religious practices and worshipping rituals of the lord in the temple. The geographical limits of those cities have been specified as Vembukkudi vaasal, Rajendra Cholan thirumadhil, Thiruvaasal Naaraasam, Pathu theru, Suthamalli Naaraasam periyeri(Ponneri in today’s times). Moreover, revenue and tax income from land limits within “Utpadai veettu madhil” and Vayithupallam Kannan thiruvodai fertile(nanjai & punjai) lands, nangaikulam, paappakulam, madaakulam, theerthakulam pond and also income from various other taxes like yerimeenpaatam, chekku irai, thari irai, thattaara paatam, kadai aayam, mansi irai were also contributed to rituals of “Sundarapandiyan sandhi”.

Through this inscription about the order, the king has communicated to the temple's administrative team with such(dhaanathaar) detailed information about lands and tax incomes donated to the temple. This order has also been signed off by officersNettoorudaiyaan, Kaalingaraayar and Sundarapandiya vizhupparayan.

This inscription also tells us about the Chola kingdom's fort names and places like "Rajendra cholan thirumadhil", "Utpadai veetu madhil" existing even after the Chola reign in history. The entrance area named Vembukkudi vaasal refers to the current geographical location of Utkottai. The place name Vayithippallam has transcended as Yuthappallam over centuries of lingual modification. The lake that was called as Cholagangam has been now mentioned as the big lake (periyeri).

During the pandyas ruling period, regions segregated as "naadu" for revenue purpose were called as "patru". And Gangai konda cholapuram has fallen under the region of "ponparappi patru". This city of ponparappi is located near Jeyankondam. The same city was considered to be the capital of "ponparappi patru" in historical times.

Trip to Kedarnath from Chennai (Day 1)

I always love travelling. Travel and me is a better love story than most of the GV films. Not a great fan of spiritual tours but this trip is unique and it will be always close to my heart. Here i take this opportunity to share my Kedarnath trip to you all. If you find any grammatical mistake, please be informed that my mother tounge is TAMIL.

One fine sunday afternoon, call from an unknown number. Its none other than our great photographer Ramesh Muthaian on the other side. (I've no idea how many more number i need to save in his name). After few minutes of Mokkai chat he told that he and his friends are planning to go to Kedaram (Kedarnath). When he mentioned as Spiritual trip, i was half lost. And when he concluded the destination i was too excited. Immediately agreed for the plan and booked our tickets.

After the call the flight tickets were ₹6700 for Chennai to Delhi (to n fro) and we ended up in buying the ticket for ₹8500 due to delay we made. Also i was not 100% confident about this trip. Because we always plan well but at the end majority of the people will step out and the plan will cancel. So with this mindset i agreed for the trip and even bought the flight tickets.

Day 1: (24-June-2017)

All set for the trip. Early morning 3:45 AM i woke to see a notification that UBER has cancelled my previous night booking due to driver unavailability at that time. Checked OLA again there was no drivers.

I can't even cancel the ticket because those were booked as non-refundable.

Luckily at 4:30AM it was just drizzling. Along with my father i reached SIPCOT hoping to get a cab to Chennai Airport.

On the way to SIPCOT, I saw a cab driver fighting with the OLA app. There seems to be a network issue with the operator and the driver lost was not showing to the public. He agreed to drop me for 600INR. I had no other option and checked UBER and it was showing as 6x surcharge and the approx rate would be ₹1300.

WHAT???

No more argument. Agreed for ₹600 and he dropped me in 27 mins (32KMS) and reached airport on time i.e. 5AM where Ramesh was waiting for me with a big smile. There i met my school friend Balaji after 12+ years. Airports are always awesome.

We were hungry and ordered 1 plate of idly, 1 plate of upma and 1 plate of pongal inside airport food court and we paid ₹500.

Ennaga da, pagal kollaiya iruku!

09:30 AM we reached Indira Gandhi International Airport and met Vamsi Krishna for the first time. Then we three were waiting for other 4 people to join us. So at this point only i came to know that we're 7 members all together for this trip. After waiting for 3 hours in Delhi Metro station near Terminal 1 we got to see the remaning team. Here we are:

After having an useless lunch near railway station, we were ready to cath DDN JANSHTBDI train and our journey started towrads Haridwar. Train was asusual full. With so much struggle fighting with heat, humidity, thirst, sweat, seat adjusting we reached Haridwar junction (20:30) and the train was 1 hour late.

Since all were tired, we booked 2 rooms in Hote Prem Bihari. It was costly for the town but it was affordable. Close to Haridwar earliest station. Each and every streets of Haridwar are filled with hotel. Even the locals found it difficult to guide us. Thanks to Google Maps which saved our time and energy. After a quick refresh, in spite of body pain we were heading towards the Goddess - River Ganga. We took battery car to reach the destination.

We tasted our first victory after taking a holy dip in Ganges. Water was freezing cold. (11 PM) Despite being so cold we happily to a dip and then slowly we started to enjoy the chillness. This video shows us where took that holy bath.

After reaching room we had enough time to know about each other. I came to know about the yoga practices of Muthu and vasee. Suddenly heard Rajinikanth voice from muthu. It was so nice to hear the broken tamil from santhosh (Alias sandiego / Rajnikanth) At least he tried Tamil even though his mother younger is kannada.

We knew that it's going to be a tough day on day 2. 8-14 hours of journey in the day time is going to be tough for anyone that too on a burning hot summer. After completing a successful day 1 we had a good sleep.

The region of Tamil Nadu in modern India has been under continuous human habitation since prehistoric era from 15,000 BCE to 10,000 BCE. Throughout its history, spanning the early Upper Paleolithic age to modern times, this region has coexisted with various external cultures. Except for relatively short periods in its history, the Tamil region has remained independent of external occupation.

The three ancient Tamil empires of Chera, Chola, and Pandya were of ancient origins. Together they ruled over this land with a unique culture and language, contributing to the growth of some of the oldest extant literature in the world. They had extensive maritime trade contacts with the Roman empire. These four dynasties were in constant struggle with each other vying for hegemony over the land. Invasion by the Kalabhras during the 3rd century disturbed the traditional order of the land by displacing the three ruling kingdoms. These occupiers were overthrown by the resurgence of the Pandyas and the Pallavas, who restored the traditional kingdoms. The Cholas, who re-emerged from obscurity in the 9th century by defeating the Pallavas and the Pandyas, rose to become a great power and extended their empire over the entire southern peninsula. At its height the Chola empire spanned almost 3,600,000 km² (1,389,968 sq mi) straddling the Bay of Bengal. The Chola navy held sway over the Sri Vijaya kingdom in Southeast Asia.

Transportation in Shillong

It can be classified into two major types
(1) Public transport
(2) Private transport

Meghalaya government runs different varieties of vehicles for mobility. It even includes one of the oldest TATA vehicle which will have engine at the front like old lorries. And the body of the bus is made of wood. I haven’t boarded this bus as it feels unsafe.
Next they have these modern days TATA morcopolo (Shillong Public transport service) and mini van (Shillong supplementary public transport service). In most of the public transport they are not at all giving any tickets. Even people don’t care to ask for ticket as he charges less price without ticket; we insisted for ticket and he gave us.

Meghalaya state bus

Private transport includes taxis like Maruthi 800, Alto and few Alto 800 cars. They also come in reserved and sharing mode. In sharing mode you can see upto 6 people inside alto.

One thing you can observe irrespective of public or private transport is the driver will switch off the engine whenever they see down steep road. And the gravity will drive us rather the engine :)

Food in Meghalaya

Majority of Meghalaya dishes are non-vegetarian. Their major food is with pork, chicken etc., Since we are vegetarians we have not tasted. For veg only few options are left but it is good.

For breakfasts local people mostly eat poori-sabji, paratha-sabji, bread-omelet, jalebi, sooji, tea, coffee.

We liked veg momos very much. I have tried it in Bangalore but momos in Shillong tastes different and so good. Also we tried vegetable chops, it is like a cutlet but it is deep fry. Samosa and puff are available. They call samosa as Singara and puff as pop.

It is their custom to have betel leaf and betel nut after every meal. The kashi people always have bettle leaf and nut with them and have it often. Even we can see many road side shops which sells betel leaf and nuts. The nuts are called as sopla in local language.

We tried following restaurant and are good
(1) Hotel City hub – ambience and varieties of food is good, you can try some dish in Bamboo shoot which is Naga/Burmese food
(2) Hotel Broadway
(3) Madras café – for south Indian foods. The owner is from Trichy city in Tamil Nadu. Taste is not exactly same as Tamil Nadu food but better Tamil Nadu food when compared to other hotels. Even you can try Dosa in Regal restaurant.

For TamilNadu style food

(4) Café Shillong – very less options for vegetarians
(5) Dejavu

If you want try authentic kashi food then must go hotel is Trarroria in police bazzar. The restaurant looks like a canteen/mess inside; they have bench and table for eating.
Rice is the staple food in Megalaya and their rice is very small, it is called Jowai (is name of the place in Jaintia hills) rice.

Pineapple and orange are cultivated locally and it tastes nice. Many roadside shop sells orange and cut pine apple to try. Teas are not cultivated successfully in Meghalaya but the horticulture department is doing some research on it.

Trip to Umiam lake

It is day 5 of our stay in Shillong. We planned to visit Ward’s lake in Shillong. After reaching Ward’s lake we came to know that every Tuesday it is closed. Without knowing what to do, we opened our trip advisor app and came to know about Umiam water sports complex.

After seeing about the place in trip advisor we headed towards Megalaya tourism department in Police Bazaar (which is near Madras café) and inquired how we can reach that place. The people in megalaya tourism are very helpful. They told us it is in Guwahati road and asked us to go to the end of GS Road in Shillong where we can find plenty of sumo services. From Police Bazaar we went to BaraBazzar from there to Motphran and then to Garikhana; some 15 to 20 mins walk in busy roads of Shillong. In Garikhana you can find lots of sharing jeep services (either TATA sumo or Mahindra Maxx). Here is where you can find yellow painted sumo vehicle and the fare is very cheap. Normal capacity of sumo is 9 but here even though 10 people are sitting inside the sumo, the driver tells 2 more can come !!! finally we 12 are there inside that sumo (thanks to TATA for pulling more people that quoted :D)

We should get down in Orchid Lake resort and water sports complex which comes after Barapani dam bridge. But we got down before the bridge and unknowing even entered military/defense land because there is no sign saying this is army land and entry is restricted. As soon as we enter one guy was running towards us and asked who we are, once we told we are tourist and coming from southern India he smiled and told ‘you should go to water sport complex which is after the bridge and this is restricted/protected area’. We shook our hands with him and exited the defense land. Since the taxi which took us from Shillong left we need walk some 1 to 1.5 kms to reach that place.

After some 15 mins of walk we reached the point, there are three places of interests in this point
(1) Nehru park
(2) Umiam water sports complex
(3) Orchid lake resort

We didn’t go to Nehru park as we are grownups ;) we went to water sports complex and lake resort. Entry ticket is Rs20/- per person. Inside you have a decent snacks shop and wash rooms. The place is well maintained with plants and grasses. Don’t go craze by the word ‘water sports’ the only entertainment it has is boating. They have different types of boating ranging from River Boat, Motor boat, Speed boat and few others. It is a good place for people coming in group because they even have place for cooking and having food. They charge 500 to 1500 for cooking depending on the group size. It was wonderful to see group of families comes together and enjoy cooking (ladies are peeling and cutting vegetables, boys are serving coffee to other, gentleman are making fire for cooking), playing (kids are running here and there), dancing (yes they came with their sound system!!), boating, talking with each other.. it is a perfect place for family get together..

After spending our time in the lake we went to Orchid resort for food (no group invited us for food :D). The restaurant in the resort offers a good view of the lake and the ambiance was good. The quality of food is decent but they took more time to serve. We were roaming the resort and found a beautiful location for selfies :)

After spending some time in resort we were heading to Guwahati-Shillong road to catch taxi to Shillong. Luckily one taxi was standing in the main road and it was empty; even if a taxi is not standing outside for sure you will get a seat in any of the passby taxis from Guwahati. We 2 of us boarded and waiting for few more people to start the taxi as it is sharing. After 5 to 10 mins, 3 Kashi girls came and boarded the taxi. On our way to Shillong, we were talking to them about language, food and culture in Meghalaya. And they told interesting stories of Meghalaya.

Trip to Mawlynnong

Day 3:

It is third day of our trip and we planned to visit Living root bridge and Mawlynnong. The Megalaya tourism didn’t provide tourist bus to this place instead they offer only reserved vehicle which will be costly. So we hired local taxi.

It will be some 3 hours journey and it is better to have breakfast in Shillong only as there is no good restaurant on the way. On our way there is a beautiful view point called Rngain view point, so we stopped the vehicle and took few snaps. First we went to Living Root Bridge in Riwai village, there are lots of living root bridge in Megalaya but this is the nearest one from Shillong. Since it is winter there is not much of water flowing below the bridge so we went down and took lots of photographs. It was an amazing work done by kashi tribal people to build a natural bridge which will take centuries to see the result.

After that we went to Mawlynnong which earned the distinction as the cleanest village in Asia. This village has 100% literacy and they maintain the cleanliness of the village. It is Sunday afternoon and there are many tourist came to visit the village. There are many hotels inside the village but most of them have a ‘Sunday Closed’ hanging board. So only couple of hotels were serving the guests. We waited for long time and had our food. After having food we walk through the streets of the village, there is one beautiful church in the village. There is one sky-view of Bangladesh point, this they have built on top of the tree. We need to climb the artificial bamboo ramp to reach the top of the tree. Once we reach the top we can see beautiful landscapes of Bangladesh. From Mawlynnong, Bangladesh is just 8km away.

Sightseeing in Meghalaya

Day 1:

It is better to book a day package through megalaya tourism department. They have varieties of package. First day we didn’t know about that, so we booked a private taxi for local sightseeing. We went to

(1) Cathedral church

( 2) Hydari park (nothing much inside except play areas for children and few animals)

(3) Elephant falls

a. It is a nice waterfalls very near to the city. Since we went on December the flow of water is very less. Apart from the waterfall, we spent more time in dressing up ourselves in Kashi tribal attire. Yes, there is a shop where we can rent Kashi dress with all accessories for Rs50/- and can take as much photo as we want. This was a real fun there.

( 4) Shillong peak

a. It is the highest peak point in the state and we get a complete view of the city. Don’t forget to take a panoramic photo here. It was lunch time and we were hungry; in the near by shop they serves poori-sabji, rice-dal, maggi, pakora, cut fruits, chai. Even here there was a shop to rent kashi dress.

a. 7 stories museum covers the history, culture, musical instruments, weapons, dresses of all the state in north east.

Day 2:

For the second day, we booked tickets in Meghalaya tourism for Cherrapunjee package and they covered below places. Cherrapunjee is to the south of Shillong and is also called as Sohra.

(1) Mawkdok valley

a. It has beautiful scenic view. And here is where most kashi movie will be made. Near to it we have zipper ride.

(2) Eco park

(3) Nohsngithiang falls

a. It is also called as seven sisters falls. Because from the view point we can see seven beautiful falls. Since we went on winter we could not see the water flow, in monsoon it will splendid view to our eyes. In northeast they refer another group as seven sisters and it is the group of north east states. Assam, Megalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura, Arunachal, Mizoram as seven sisters. Also they call Sikkim as adopted sister.

(4) Ramkrishna mission

a. There is a small museum on northeast culture, history and more

(5) Mawsmai caves

a. It is a natural caves and inside you can see lots of shining rocks and natural sculptures. All these are because of the minerals in that rock. Water was dripping inside the cave.

(6) Mottrop

a. Here we can see a rock in the inverted kashi basket position. And also we can see the Bangladesh landscape from this place.

(7) Thangkharang park

a. We have not went inside this park. It is more like a picnic spot, it is more crowded than other place we visited. Lots of school excursion vehicles are there. Also people came with all the cooking utensils and were cooking for their lunch. We entered a small shop (BK Phanbuh) to have tea, the owner is very welcoming and offered fried cake which was very tasty and asked for one more.

Trip to North East India - Day 1

I and Venkatesh planned for North East trip and we decided on Shillong in Meghalaya state.

Travel date : 25th December'2014 to 02nd January 2015

We started from Bangalore Airport in SpiceJet. If you would like to have food in Bangalore Airport the best place is the Airport canteen which is just outside the Departure terminal, here you will get quality food at reasonable price. Inside departure terminal all foods are very costly. There won’t be any signage for canteen, please ask some people. And one note, if you enter the departure terminal you cannot get out for any reason.

We reached Guwahati airport around 3:15pm though the actual time to land is 2:45pm. Guwahati airport is very small and it is far from the City (around 25 km). Inside the airport you can find counter for Arunachal Pradesh state tourism, cab booking, hotels etc.

Once you are coming out of the airport, cab drivers will surround you for taxi. Be careful, they may charge high price. We took a private a/c bus which was there just few meters away from airport and goes to Guwahati city. They charged Rs130/- it’s reasonable for 25 km travel in A/c bus. On the way to city we enjoyed the beautiful scene of Bramaputhra river which is very big.

Guwahati to Shillong is just 100km distance but the travel time differs based on the mode of transport. Below are the travel options

Govt Bus – which will take around 5 to 6hrs
Sharing taxi – travel time is 3 to 3.5 hrs but need to wait till sufficient people boards the vehicle. They charge Rs300/- per person from Guwahati city, Rs500/- per person from Guwahati airport
Private taxi – Upto Rs2000/-, you can stop in between and take photos

We boarded sharing taxi (Swift Dezire) and thought we can enjoy the scenic beauty of hill drive but sun sets very fast here, even at 4:30 pm city becomes dark and streets light will be switched on. So it was a little disappointing for us.

It won’t happen always but anticipate breakdown of vehicle. We would have travelled 1 hour uphill and on the way we saw a taxi vehicle brokedown because of gear box problem. We are already 4 in our cab and we invited 3 more guys from that vehicle and we 7 are travelling in swift dezire !!! (luckily 2 people got down after 15 mins as they reached their place) One of the senior most person (guess 60+) of GSI joined us in the cab and we were talking to him about north east and whole of India. It was a wonderful knowledge gaining session in a cab from such an elderly person. We were talking and talking till we reach our point. We greeted new year wishes and shook of hands with him.

On your way to Shillong you will cross Barapani dam and near to it only Shillong airport is situated. From Barapani it will hardly take 30 mins to reach Shillong.

Notable words:

This poem is summarised as follows

It seems to be perfect. No square root required. Though it seems to be perfect it is not accurate. See more examples below.

The above two examples clearly shows that the theorem is not very accurate. If decimals are neglected then it would give the correct answer. But the interesting thing is, it is 2000 years old theorem. Sad thing is we don't have any details of this great poet bothayanaar.

Ayodhya - Place to visit our INDIAN ARMY.

Last week Apirl 14 2012, me and my friends happen to visit ayodhya. I would say it as a must visit city. Look and feel of the city is like any other Indian city. I don’t want to go much on that.

Now it’s the time to explain about my experience inside the complex. Since it is a sensitive city there were local police and armed forces all around. Nearing the complex you will feel that as if you were at the border. Once you enter into the complex you are not permitted to wear watches belts and any electronic devices. Even you can’t carry a comb wit you.

You have to travel through a covered fence till dharshan. Fences are covered in such a way that only your finger will get through. And there were at least five check points. In these check points you are completely checked - COMPLETELY. During checking a staple pin is with you, you are rejected. You have to get out, throw the pin out side the complex and then you have to join the queue again.

After forty minutes we reached a place where you could see a board written as darshan with a right arrow. It was approx 50m away from the queue cage. There was a small tent in which few idols were kept. And that’s the temple. (I don’t know why terrorist are more interested in attacking this temple)

Dharshan was over and I saw many armies in that place. Now I was little nervous because i thought to talk with an army officer. Took a deep breath and went near an officer (edge of the cage) and greeted an officer.

Me: HI

ARMY OFFICER: HI

Me: (saluted) Thanks for protecting us from enemies.

AO: (Happy face) I see lacks of people daily who doest even have a minute to talk with us, but you had. Thank you (salutes in an informal way)

(After hearing this a small tear in my eyes and a very big smile in my face)

(He continued)

AO: So where are you from?

Me: An INDIAN with tamil as my mother tongue. Basically from south tamilnadu and working as software engineer at lucknow. (Since it was too crowded I could stand there for a long time. He was happy and I said see you again and moved)

Me: JAI HIND!

AO: JAI HIND!

What he said was correct. We people don’t have a minute to spend with our army who protects us from enemies (every day). This was a proud moment for me to be congratulated by an army officer. And I was too excited that I spoke with an INDIAN ARMY OFFICER for the first time in these 25 years. I was unable to give a shake had because it was fully covered. Really, un lucky at that spot. And we did not share our names because we had a common name INDIANS. Then I realized that in this way we can make our army people happy and giving a notification that we Indians are behind them with true patriotism.

As far as im considered they are the real lord RAM. I went to see an idol of Lord RAM but I saw many living Lords (Lord RAM) with Indian army uniform who protects us from enemies all the time.

So I would request you all INDIANS (all religion) to go to that complex and get the dharshan of our Lords. Talk with them. Spend more minutes with them.

Actually it's really hard for a tamilan to figure it out. Still many people did. And my friend is one among that, many people. (Discrete mathematics, 3 attempts)

After hearing and enjoying those lines, then i realized that it might be a marketing strategy to release this movie in tamil nadu.

Because people in tamilnadu doesn't like to watch a dubbed movie often. (source : myself).

So adding few lines of tamil in the song and releasing it might create a buzz like
"machi enna da ithu hindi paatu la tamil add panirukanuga?? weight da, tamil vazhga"

And this buzz will be there till the movie release. Also every one, who even doesn't understand Hindi will be humming like chammak chalo chalo, which makes them to watch the movie.

If this is true, its a good strategy to release a tamil dubbed hindi movie.

And please note, im not against any language, its my thought and i have shared it. If the reader happen to find anything wrong in this post, forgive.

Yeah.

But calculator cant do that directly. But there is an option from calculator.
Following simple options will explain that.

Its another wonderful day here. In spite of those recent three blasts, people here at Mumbai started their routine on the very next day and i'm one among them.

Well today i happen to read some interesting blogs and thought to share it here.

After checking this first word was WOW!!!

Fake call with the bank name - ICICI !!!!!!

Hello Everyone,

Hope all are doing great. Here I have one more interesting thing which happened on 20^th November. Very interesting and there was a chance of 99% that I would have trapped. Okay let me come to the action.

It was a fine Saturday. After updating some status in facebook, started to work. Few hours later I had a meeting with my senior. Time was around 1.01 PM sharp. My first mobile started to ring. Since it was unknown no i didn't mind kept it in silent. Again my another mobile started to ring.Again an unknown number but the same number which i got it in my first mobile. Since i was very lazy to attend the call i didn't care. Both the mobile started to ring one after another. Then i felt something was wrong. So asked permission from the people and went out to attend the call.

A sweet voice from other side, greeted me and was saying that she’s calling from ICICI bank(talking in an hurry). To show that as if im busy i said, im in meeting please don't disturb at this time. (as every one do). She said “Sir this is very urgent. Some one has deposited 10 lakhs in your account. Can we know the reason for this much huge deposit from some one“. I was shocked to hear and after few seconds in heart i gave an evil smile. (he he he he he). Still I replied that i have no idea about that money. I or any of them from my circle had not deposited such a huge amount and im not aware of that. Also I added “please don’t disturb, im in an important meeting” and disconnected the call.

After few minutes, again a call came from the same number and asking my working details. I gave my work details (company name etc). I was in an oscillations, so I called my father and explained the scenario. He gave an answer that “Even though money credited to your account please return it back to the bank” and also he adviced me to talk to my brother. I called my brother and explained the scenario again. He asked whether I gave any details of my bank. Obviously the answer is no except the my work address.

Then he asked me to call back that number. Simultaneously he was also trying. Now it’s a male voice saying that “ICICI bank help center how can I help you”. After that I was clear that the call which I got was a fake call. THANK GOD I DIDN’T DISCLOSE ANY OF MY BANK DETAILS.

Next step I called to the original customer care center of ICICI bank. And asked was there any amount waiting for my authorization. He replied that “no thing like that sir”. Then I explained the things which happened. He congratulated me for not disclosing my bank details and added there was no number in ICICI branch from which the call I got.. Then I requested him to make a complaint on the same. He did.

So even any one the reader got any call like this please disconnect and dial the original customer care service or just don’t reply. It was a very good experience for me. And I apologize for any grammatical mistake(which i used to do always) . I'm sharing the number also.

Visit to shiridi (5th Nov 2010)

Hello Everyone,

Nov 5^th is deepavali. On account of that I and other two friends decided to visit shiridi sai baba manthir. Here I’ll share the experience with you people.

Two of my colleagues / friends (Julius and cheran chengutavan) with a glass in the hand (filled with tea) decided to go shiridi and meet sai baba. Time is 7:28 PM. With the help of justdial service we got 5 different numbers for booking a cab. Within a minute or so an incoming call from XXXXX cab service and we booked a cab (indica) @ 9 PM for shiridi. We were happy and started to drink (remaining tea) again.

Mean time we were getting ready. Again a call came. This time it is the cab driver and im attending the call. He started to talk in hindi. I gave the mobile to Julius (team lead of this team) and he gave a big smile (even he doesn’t understand hindi). Only hero is cheran. Driver and cheran stated to talk as time went the conversation was turning like a fight. The reason is, cab driver’s wife is also willing to visit shiridi and she’ll also join the cab. (enna koduma saravanan sir ithu). Time is 9.20 PM but actual plan is to start at 9 PM.

Then we went to malad station since there might be any travels. And also we were calling to other numbers which justdial provided. At last we booked two cabs again, one from my mobile and another from Julius mobile and the plan is to select a cab which comes first. Now time is around 10:33PM and the horrible incident happened. That was an accident. Fast and furious bike hit a child. The child was thrown at least 7 yards from the hit (actually there was no wrong with the bike; it was the child which ran in the main road). The child is in the edge of its life.

I felt really very bad because booked cab was cancelled, recently booked 2 two cabs are getting delayed and I saw blood in front of me. Due to theses reason I thought of quitting the plan and informed this to Julius. Julius smiled and said “kavala padatha nammaluku evalavu thadai vanthalum shiridi poyaetheerom”.

Meaning – Don’t worry, we are reaching shiridi at any cost.

These words gave me the confidence and I was back to form again.

Now time is around 11:20. Two mobiles are ringing at same time. We picked our respective mobile. The other side is, two different cab drivers saying that they have reached malad station and asking where we are. “marupadiyum enna koduma saravanan sir ithu”. Then there was a competition between two drivers and the cab with the number 4216 won the race and cab with number 4219 lost. Lost cab driver is demanding money for cancellation. We didn’t care him and we started from malad station to shiridi Time is 11:42PM “hurray”.

Now its 6^th Nov 2AM. Driver was requesting that he needs to sleep. So we went to a dhaba and he started to sleep inside the car. Till 3:45 AM we were talking about many topics. After that we waked up our driver and started our journey again.

Time is 7 AM and the happy news is we reached shiridi. Before I get down from the car I was feeling like I have achieved some thing. Opposite to us was XXXX bank ATM. Card was inserted and all formalities were over. Instead of money, bill paper co mes out with printed words as TRANSACTION DECLINED. Might be due to some problem and we went to nearest ATM and we got the same response. 9 ATM’s gave same response. One bank’s ATM management is very good and they had a board with the message as “OUT OF SERVICE”. Nearly 2.5 kms we were walking and we saw another ATM, which was the last ATM in shiridi. We both have less than 1000 rupees. With full enthusiasm we entered into that ATM. At last GOD saved us. We saw Gandhiji smiling in the rupee notes. We also had a big smile. Time is 8:20AM nearly 1 hour we were searching for working ATM.

At last we booked a room and started to sleep till 9.30AM.

After we relaxed, thought to go start to temple. We both were ready, but cheran was sleeping still. I tried to wake him nearly for 10 minutes and even tried many techniques but everything went vain. So I and Julius started. Somehow we found the entrance. Since mobile is not allowed inside the temple we handed it to devasthanam mobile hub for Rs 2/- per mobile.

We have reached the queue. First we reached a big hall which has 5 columns. Each column was separated by a metal divider. People were very enthusiastic to see sai baba so they were just jumping the columns instead of walking. But naanga nalla pasanga, so erikuthikala, nadanthu than ponom. J J

At last we saw sai baba. Not much crowd. I could hear many telugu voices. Then we came out from manthir. Booked 3 tickets for Mumbai. Bus started at 3.15 PM. And we reached around 11:30PM. On the way we bought noodles as well as vegetables for dinner. I found new way of making noodles with vegetables. It was very very nice. Other two said that they feel the same.

Any how the trip started in very bad manner and ended in a fantastic manner. If you people get a chance please go and visit shiridi and do not repeat the mistakes that we did. That is the main aim of this blog.
