The last note of the last show of this year has sounded and we'll all be taking time off to recharge our batteries from what has been a very intense year for everybody involved.

We have been tried and tested, but everything that has been thrown at us made us and the bonds between us even stronger. The screams of our fans outsounded the ignorant voices of our haters thousandfold and the positive emotions every single one of you gave us during our shows and other encounters made up for all the negativity we were confronted with.

Another year in the life of NACHTMAHR

Dear comrades,

2012 is over and what a year it was! We played great shows on 3 continents, all major festivals at great positions and realised our new album "VENI VIDI VICI" which was the biggest undertaking in the band's history so far. From the writing, production and the recording process to the casting, shoot and layout of the artwork over to product design this has taken the best of all of us, but we are damn proud of the finished product.

2012 has also been the year where more and more people tried to denounce and discredit us, where we got insulted from stage by fellow musiciansm where T-shirts and PSAs were made in a campaign to stop us and where we faced serious personal threats for what we are doing and stand for. Nevertheless it was a great year and at every show YOU, our fans, prove the haters wrong and us right in what we are doing.

Eine Kampagne stand in den letzten Wochen ganz oben auf der militärischen Agenda des NACHTMAHR-Hauptquartiers: Die Fertigstellung des ersten offiziellen Videoclips zur Nummer „Can You Feel The Beat?“ Ab sofort gibt es hier einen ersten Teaser, der einen Einblick in die aufwändigen Arbeiten an dem Film gibt und darüber hinaus deutlich macht, was von Thomas Rainer zu erwarten ist: Provokation, Polarisierung, nackte Haut.

Mit Regisseur Carlo Roberti wurde in Italien ein Video gedreht, das um das typische Videoclipgenre einen weiten Bogen macht und sich als ästhetisch auf die Musik abgestimmter Film präsentiert, der neben der Band von zwölf Schauspielern und einem Team von zehn Personen realisiert wurde. gedreht in High Definition an fünf Locations in Rom, kann man sich auf einen audiovisuellen Genuss freuen, der am 17.10.2011 endlich in voller Länge veröffentlicht werden wird.

In recent weeks, one campaign stood above all others on the NACHTMAHR agenda: The finalization oft the first official video clip for „Can You Feel The Beat?“. Today, a first teaser was released and can be watched here. it gives an insight into the elaborate work and emphasizes that once again, Thomas Rainer delivers what is expected of him: Provocation, polarization, nude skin.

With director Carlo Roberti, a clip was created that avoids the typical video clip cliché and presents itself as an aesthetically fitting counterpart to the music. The band, twelve actors, a crew of ten people crafted the video in high definition, making use of five different locations in Roma and assuring that this project is going to be an audiovisual treat being unleashed on October, 17th.

Syncro Contest / Video Clip / New EP

After the Remix contest for the "Can you feel the beat?" EP has generated a lot of buzz and summoned nearly 100 entries from all over the world the preparations for the release are entering it's final stage.

The EP will contain 3 brand new tracks alongside 10 Remixes from the industry's finest artists and because that is not enough, propaganda division has decided that this is the time for the first official video clip in the band's history - and YOU can be part of it.

We are looking for one male and one female who wants to lend his/her voice to the lead actor/actress of the video clip. Record yourself synchronizing the respective video snippet found at the addresses mentioned below with a good microphone in .wav format (16 or 24bit, 44.1 kHz) and send the file to propaganda@nachtmahr.at until September 1st.

Hinter den Kulissen des Wiener Hauptquartiers rumort es gewaltig. Nachdem der Remixcontest zur kommenden EP „Can You Feel The Beat?“ weltweit hohe Wellen geschlagen und Einsendungen aus allen Winkeln des imperialistischen Herrschaftsgebiets heraufbeschworen hat, gehen die Vorbereitungen für die mit drei brandneuen Tracks und ganzen zehn Remixen randvoll bestückten EP-Veröffentlichung nun in die finale Runde.

So wird es zum Titeltrack zum ersten Mal in der Bandgeschichte ein aufwändiges Video geben, für das Thomas Rainer zwei Sprechrollen zu vergeben hat!

Verlangt ist die Aufnahme eines englischen Satzes, der per Download als Video und Textdatei zur Verfügung gestellt wird – und zwar mit einem guten Mikrofon ohne Effekte oder Kompression im Dateiformat .wav (16 oder 24bit, 44.1 kHz). Das Ergebnis schickt Ihr unter Nennung Eures vollen Namens an propaganda@nachtmahr.at – die Gewinner werden per E-Mail benachrichtigt!

Dear comrades,

At first we want to thank everybody of the 99 remixers that submitted their work to the contest for their contribution. We are proud to see there is so much exceptional talent in our fan base and with people like you stirring up the scene, our movement has a big and bright future, but now to the part all of you have been waiting for:

The supreme commander and his staff of advisors have passed their verdict. It was a hard decision making process because of the great quality of the submitted works, but one stood out from the beginning.

This version came in less then 48 hours after the files were put online and the mix immediatley got us hooked as it has everything we want from a remix. It's club oriented, makes creative use of the provided materials, doesn't copy the original song structure but still delivers the song's message.
We are very proud that we can feature this track on our upcoming release

alongside remixes by SUICIDE COMMANDO, GRENDEL, X-RX and others.

but that's not it...

We also couldn't get another version out of our heads, as it takes the song into a completely different direction adding punk guitars, ska vocals and old school synths:

Those guys really walked the extra mile by recording tons of new material for their mix, fighting with out of date soft and hardware and a puking singer during vocal recordings. It's these reinterpretations that makes us see our music in a different light and it's amazing to witness this new perspective being brought to life.

As we also want to show you this other side of NACHTMAHR's music, the supreme commander decided to feature this cover version / remix as a special bonus track on the next release.

Work has commenced on a new NACHTMAHR release and therefore our propaganda office is very pleased to announce the first NACHTMAHR remix contest. The song in question is "Can you feel the beat?" from Semper Fidelis and is free for your interpretation.

We hereby provide a full remix kit with orginal sounds snippets, vocal files and a midi file of the arrangement and everybody at HQ is very much looking forward to hearing various interpretations from NACHTMAHR fans worldwide.

THE RULES:

- Deadline for Submission of an MP3 file in 192 kbps is 30th April 2011 12:00 CET

- Please use a hosting service like yousendit.com / rapidshare.com / mediafire.com / sprend.com or similar to upload your track, do NOT send MP3s directly

- Send the link to your track to propaganda@nachtmahr.at

- the original vocals provided or part of them have to be used in the track. If you feel like re-singing the vocals or adding vocals yourself, please do so. Stick to the original lyrics though

- Creativity counts. Feel free to change the style of the song, add your own instruments or do whatever you can think of to make it stand out

- The winner will be selected by Thomas Rainer himself as well as DJane Pink Foamy (Vienna, Austria) and DJane Totentanz (Philadelphia, USA) and will be featured on the next release alongside some of the biggest names in the scene

- Even if you don't win the slot on the next NACHTMAHR release, your remix might be selected for another purpose (e.g. compilations, downloads from the offical website)

- NACHTMAHR retains all the rights to the remix and if it is not selected as one of the winning entries must not be made available at all.
