Malaysia Airlines: MH 370 to Beijing, China

Being a staunch aviation enthusiast, I was shocked and saddened by the news of MH 370. To tell you the truth, I couldn’t even sleep well that night thinking about the fate of the passengers and crew.

Imagine, the Boeing 777, an aircraft with an amazing safety record vanished just like that.

What’s even more unbelievable was the fact that foreign medias were trying to potray us as a bunch of terrorists. Bengong apa dia orang ni!

May Allah save our nation from all the fitan!

Wasiat (Last Will & Testament) Client

Just heard the news that this gentleman that I was supposed to prepare a Wasiat for has just passed away last night at 8.40pm.

Tak sempat nak tolong dia.

Two lessons learnt:

1. Prepare your Wasiat (Last Will & Testament) early. You just do not know when you are going to kick the bucket.

2. My goodness, life is so short.

Getting the iPhone 4 was a good decision. I just wish the battery life could be a lot better.

My updated view on Skim Simpanan Pendidikan Nasional (SSPN)

I previously wrote about the Skim Simpanan Pendidikan Nasional (SSPN) offered by the Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) here and here.

I used to think that the SSPN is not worth my time. This was mainly because of the low rate of return it provides. However, I have to say, my view has changed. I’ve overlooked the fact that there’s actually tax relief provided to those who saves money in SSPN for their kids. The tax relief given is up to RM3,000 per year. That’s pretty substantial in my opinion.

On top of that, assuming my tax rate is 12%, I have technically given myself an instant return of 12% (i.e instead of giving the money to the tax office, I’m sacrificing it into the SSPN account and therefore keeping the money to myself).

In summary, I’ll definitely look into using this vehicle in the future.

Well, I’ve been home for about two weeks now.

At the moment, busy with settling things like bank accounts, broadband registration, investments, and other minute matters. Oh, and also dealing with Nikah matters

About to make the transition from uni life to working life pretty soon. Definitely not looking forward to it.

I haven’t posted up anything for a while. One word. Malas.

I’ve got a lot of things to write about but just haven’t got the mood to do it.

Anyway, I’m returning to Malaysia for good in a couple of weeks time. I have to settle a lot of things before I go back. Cancel my broadband, home phone, mobile, electricity, sell my car, give away unwanted things, ship my things to Malaysia, and many more. Again, malas.

So folks, what’s new with Malaysia?
