I'm glad I gave in to the temptation though because this looks amazing! I was expecting it to be a pretty glitter that I could layer over black polish but it turns out you don't even need a base colour so I was pretty happy about that. Once the base colours were dry, I used scotch tape to mark a clean line halfway down each nail. Then I painted a second colour over the top one nail at a time and removed the tape straight away. I waited for that to dry and added a final top coat, attaching the <a href="http://www.bornprettystore.com/gold-square-stud-rhinestone-acrylic-nail-p-2860.html" target="_blank">studs</a>&nbsp;while that was still wet.</div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> Like a lot of you here (you know who you are!), I'm a bit of a <a href="http://www.thenailasaurus.com/search/label/Meme" target="_blank">meme</a> addict and I'm slowly but surely making my way through <a href="http://knowyourmeme.com/" target="_blank">Know Your Meme</a> on my nails!&nbsp;</div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <br /></div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> I kind of cheated with this one by creating a decal rather than freehanding it straight on to my nail.</div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> I started by painting a thin coat of clear polish about 2x2cm on to a sheet of plastic and letting it dry. Then I used acrylic paint with a <a href="http://www.ebay.com/sch/nail%20art%20brush%2015" target="_blank">nail art brush</a> to draw the face. Once it was all dry, I peeled the whole thing away from the plastic and stuck it to my nail using a coat of clear polish and smoothing it down with my finger. I checked in every single craft shop I passed but to no avail. I know a lot of people have complaints about the lasting power of NYC polishes but it's one of my favourite ranges on the high street. I can't pinpoint the moment I first started using these in my nail art but these days I'm never without a pot of them on my desk. It's just the best thing ever! I always used to avoid glitter polish like the plague but since discovering this trick I'm more than happy to wear glitter all the time.&nbsp;</div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> This stuff is just kids craft glue so it's super cheap and you can pick it up in any hardware or craft store. I've got a huge bottle and I squeeze a reasonable amount out in to an old nail polish bottle (which I thoroughly cleaned with acetone first). Each duo is a pretty combination of one colour polish and one glitter from their extensive line of polishes. I love wearing glitter toppers on my nails and I don't know about you guys, but to this day I've never made it to the bottom of a bottle of glitter! Has anyone?! I used two coats of Snowflake and you can see it's still very sparse. It is a lovely looking combination but with all those coats it took way too long to dry thanks the gooey base in Snowflakes.</div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <b>Jade Stone</b> is a Models Own shade that I've had my eye on for a while and it's as brilliant as I'd hoped. For the roses I used <b>NYC Bubblegum Pink</b>, <b>Barry M Blood Orange</b> and <b>BK Matt White</b> with <b>NYC Mint Macaroon</b> for the leaves. Some of them are necklaces I've tired of and instead of throwing them out I've done a bit of upcycling and started wearing them on my nails. Others are ones I've picked up in the cheap in stores. Thanks to that super bright pink, my nails are looking sugary sweet today and the matte top coat is just a perfect addition.
