So if you have any mobile device that you carry with you by know you are more than aware of how oily and dirty it can get.  Especially if its a touch screen device like a phone or tablet.  The way a touchscreen can have so many fingerprints and oil streaks on it is boarder line magic.  And unless you carry a microfiber cloth around with you at all times the screen never gets

You see Uncle Tommy isn't a horror movie character.  He also isn't like anyone you have ever met in live either.  Its like if you took a little bit of Barack Obama and mixed it up with a little Warren Sapp then wrapped it all around with a bunch

I don't know if I'm just a weirdo (which I probably am) or just super uncool (Which again I probably am) but are all the uncool kids really on and only on Google+?   I mean I keep reading articles about how Google+ is trending down and I have to say honestly I don't see it. I get how people say usage is trending down. And that might be so.  But I would like to point out

So I suck at casting spells and curses.  The Knicks fell to the Miami Heat. They weren't destroyed, but they also won't be having any fond memories of the game. Have to admit it was weird seeing Barron Davis run the point for a while. Also sad to see Dewayne Wade just run circles around him and Jeremy Lin.  Anyhow its the All-Star break so I have a few days to forget about that

The only thing that is worse than being bad is being OK.  Sounds weird right?  But its true.  If your a sports fan and your just bad for no reason and you get beat by a good team you expect it.  You justify it by saying you don't have good players or a good coach or general manager.  You watch the first couple minutes of your game, look for some chips and then

That the deadliest of creatures have defense mechanisms to put you off guard just to strike and finish you. Children are no different. I told myself I would not rely on the 5-hour Energies anymore.  That was before I did a glare into time

In days long past the system administrator was a dude who drank a lot of coffee and spent way too much time over a CRT monitor and log files to see if someone was using too many resources or planning out how he was going to patch a whole in his system or deploy a new software package.  Users in those days just ran

Male, female, white, black, gay, or straight.  We love putting things in a box and saying "That's what that is and that is all that will ever be!".  Often we see these labels retard our sense of reality and force us to come up with more labels to describe things while at the surface seemingly different but actually something we are completely familiar with. Case in point the

The Admin Corner: Leave Environment AlonePart of an admin's job is securing his systems.  Not fun I know. But if you want to make sure that you system isn't frequented by citizens of the Peoples Democratic Region of wherever you need to take some things into account.  One of those as I am learning is access to the terminal.  Specifically the mesg command. The mesg command

And yes I know the politically correct term is "mentally challenged". But with the stuff that flies though my brain at times I think its full on retarded. Case in point. I was at this wedding. And all these women started to talk about how "hippie" this young woman was in her dress. I look at her and say in a calm and even tone:
