homemade wall decor

2012-12-16T10:14:00.000-06:00

create photo arrangements very cheap using $1 frames some scrapbooking paper to match your decor and cut your letters out on the cricut.. makes instant wall art.. these are 5x7 frames but i plan to make some bigger ones.. this is the sei set grannys kitchen only cause my bedroom is turquoise brown and tan.. perfect paper for that..

May layouts for Crop

2012-05-01T09:26:00.002-05:00

May Crop layouts.... everyone will get 6 sheets of 12x12 papers which will allow them to use the matting and borders layout on their background papers. They must choose their own title and cut it from matching papers they have.

For mine I chose to do a layout of Brock planting the garden with Uncle Jason and decided to use REAL beans instead of buttons on my star flowers. Also made a dirt patch with beans.. Using patterns papers from the My Minds Eye (In Bloom) and coordinations cardstock from my friends ebay store Lisa Harris . check here out she has some GREAT bargains!!
Some worry about the beans not being acid free.... well i always heard if you put a buffer behind them and they don't touch the pics they will be fine.So mine has a glue dot (acid free) and 2 layers of acid free paper and each layer of stars also have a pop dot behind them (acid free). I just thought was a cute idea to use the beans. Brock will love this !

Rosa decided to use the same pattern paper set and also coordinations cardstock from Lisa's shop for her 2 pg spread and since it worked great for her daughter and grandchildren pictures she choose the title Family for her layouts.

Easter layouts

2012-04-04T15:18:00.002-05:00

Everyone is getting ready for Easter so it was perfect timing for our April crop to do Easter layouts.
Each person attending will receive all the items to make 2- 2pg spreads. All cuts are cricut cuts.

2012-03-17T16:40:00.001-05:00

Wow I'm on a roll today !! here's another post with layouts I just did this afternoon using page kits from our swap group..

this 2pg spread I used my purple / green page kit for mercedes halloween with the family

Annette's blue and brown swap I just love and i even had the same blue paper for background!

Annette's blue and orange page kit from february swap!

Mickel's orange and blue page kit from february swap!

Thanks ladies you made these come together in a snap... I also did 5 more but want to add a cutout title so will have to wait to post those.

2012-03-17T12:13:00.001-05:00

Thought it was high time I updated my blog..I have been to lax in this area and hope to do a better job.
These are some layouts I have just recently done at the crop of my grandson who is now 8 almost 9 and I am this far behind on just him, not counting the other grandkids..

part of my blue and brown page kit I made for february swaps

primary page kit I made for the March swaps I am in. This is pg 1 and pg 2 is above

Page kit I just made for myself to use when doing brown and blue swap kits.

This is a page kit I made for March (pastel) swap

2012-01-04T21:38:00.003-06:00

These are some page kits I traded a great friend (annette) for she does lovely work and i just love them. * the love kit and strawberry shortcake came from another swapper* You will see how she has taken 3 different pattern papers that match and created this top beach spread.. and 3 colors of cardstocks.

this 2nd beach she used 2 beach papers that matched and 3 colors cardstocks

this birthday kit *i think was a bought kit that she added cardstock and ribbons to and brought it to life, the etc pieces on the right side are for me to add more to my layouts just cut them apart and mat.

this was a fall swap on one of my groups she made for her partners tag decorated with squirrel/ fall pennant title/photo mat/ photo corners and journal box again made with 3 pattern papers that match and 2 cardstocks

if your making a page kit for the crop in trenton this will help you see how I mean embellished and matted. enjoy

2012-01-03T13:39:00.001-06:00

Just finished up a baby girl album for our new granddaughter Kimberlyn born on 12/08/11.. I used the Prima baby girl set of pattern papers and lots of bazzill bling cardstocks (pics don't do that justice)>. followed the pink and green colors thru out.. I hope they love it as much as I loved making it.

HamboHoeDown week 34

2011-09-26T12:33:00.002-05:00

This week they gave us a cute image of a submarine to use.. I forgot to bring that with me to the lake so I am using my Hambo Halloween Witch for my card. They are doing Operation Troops this round. My card will be going to the troops as well but thru a different route. I used copics to color my witch and several colors that remind me of halloween to design the card. Once again I was limited because I didn't bring many supplies with me this time.. but I think she still turned out way cute. colors are much brighter than they appear taken with my phone.

"House" it going ?

2011-09-15T14:08:00.001-05:00

This week the challenge for Hambo Hoedown was to use fun house 2 digi set and use something from around the house you don't normally use on your cards. I got this neat digi image free from playing along last week. It's for sale HERE. I colored my house with copics made some grass at the bottom pop dotted and made my tree out of a POPCICLE stick painted brown, hand cut my green tree top and added fall leaves. I made my cards 6x6 size . This was a very fun challenge for me I love thinking outside the box.

4th of July spread

2011-06-27T12:49:00.000-05:00

Done this layout for the June crop and since we are doing 4th of July items thought I would share mine. Used the A child's year cricut cart for the characters and the Independence day cart for the words. Forgive me for not taking the pic straight, it is an entire 2 pg spread.

Pop Up Card Challenge

2011-06-12T05:00:00.001-05:00

We were asked to do a pop up card for this week's challenge.. I folded my card in half and marked equal lines on the folded side with 2 inches apart made straight lines 2 inches high. Then you cut those lines and fold your cut inward. Once your fold is creased open the card folding the little cut you made back and the card frontward. thus giving you a pop up when you hope the card.

The front of my card PP measures 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 then I cut strips of paper 1/2 inch wide for the ones running side to side. Using a MS punch I punched out the edge of 2 of those strips.. the 3rd strip (brown/pink dots) is MM packing tape. I inked a paper dolly cut it down to half size and put behind my picture.
The picture is a print out of a vintage card. Added 3 flowers and the butterfly and makes a great birthday card. Inside you will see a butterfly to match the one on the outside.

April Showers Bring May Flowers

2011-05-27T01:00:00.002-05:00

Welcome to Scrapbook Place's monthly blog hop! Our theme this month is "April Showers Bring May Flowers" so you will see FLOWERS featured in all of our creations.

If you just happened upon my blog, you will want to go back to the beginning of the hop - Lindsy's blog - and follow through to see all the beautiful creations! Have fun hopping along with us and if you get stuck, hop on over to the Scrapbook Place's blog where the entire hopping list will be posted.
Thank you for joining us in more inspiration!

For my project I am using my final scrapvivor challenge a 6x6 card since it pretains to spring and flowers. I was sent a bag of items and choose to use the crocheted flower which I sewed tiny red seed beads on.

Items in my bag I used are the clear flower frame to draw the eye to the hydrenga flowers, the crocheted flower, red seed beads and the white dollie along the edge. Printed off the words smell the flowers and added the dragonfly and butterfly.

Be sure to leave comments along the way and become a follower of all the bloggers as there will be a prize along the way.

used bright green textured cardstock for backgrounds, ammerican crafts pattern paper and doodlebug
pattern paper. all textured cardstocks for eggs and bunny. Embossed the eggs in basket, glittered layered
eggs on pg 1 and the grass on pg 2.
