Has been quite preoccupied with the kids..."making babies" haha. Now that I'm 26 weeks... (alreadY?!)
How time flies..

Since I was away... I had developed a new hobby, not really new..... dah lama ada hobi ni but since last time I don'have the machine to do it. Now that I DO... it did keep me quite busy with small-small projects. [^_^].

I love making these...
And i've been making quite a few times and trying to perfect it suiting my taste each time...
Finally, after I think more than 10 times ..haha, I manage to came up with these fluffy, crunchy at the outside and soft at the inside..

Here is the recipe:-
High protein flour - 200gm
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Sugar - 2 teaspoon
Instant dry yeast - 1/2 teaspoon
Warm water - 100ml
Butter - 1 tablespoon

Method
1. Mix sugar and dry yeast with warm water. Let it sit until it bubbles.
2. Next in a mixing bowl put flour and salt together and mix well.
3. Then add the butter, with your hands, mix the butter with the flour.
4. After that, make a well and pour in the yeast mixture. Mix them well. The texture should be just nice and you dont need to add any flour and water.
5. On a clean surface put some flour and you can start kneading the dough.
6. You its done when the dough doesnt stick to your hands, smooth and elastic. Aprroximately 8-10 minutes.
7. Let it rest in slightly oil container and cover with cling film. Let it double in size.
8. When the size is doubled punch the dough to remove the air and knead another minute or so. Cover and let it rest until it doubles again and it is ready to be use.

Chili Crab!!
All time favourite. I dint really like ketam.. But if its chili crab then it would be a different thing.
There are so many chili crab styles, chinese style with egg, pranakan style and wat not. This is my version of chili crab. Hope you'll enjoy them. [^_^]

Ingredients:

Shallots
Garlic
Ginger
Lemon Grass
Gallagal
Tomato ketchup/blended tomato
Chilly sauce
Honey
Tamarind sauce
Salt Sugar

p/s: The way it is being cooked is like when you are cooking sambal.

This is and old post that I've should have published which I didn't..malas nak type hahaha. Actually, bukan malas but my kiddos, especially the younger one tu meeerraaaaaap sesangat.. haish....so lately melayan kerenah dia ja..

Udang galah yang fresh!

Done cooking

Ready to be eaten..

So here is the recipe for Udang Galah Masak Lemak Cili Api

Ingredients:

Udang Galah
Cili Api - 5 tangkai
Bawang merah - 5 ulas
Bawang putih - 2 ulas
Kunyit Hidup - secukup rasa
Halia - 1 inci
Serai - 2 tangkai (diketuk)
Asam keping/Asam Jawa - secukup rasa
Fresh Santan - approximately 2 cups
Salt and sugar to taste

Method:

Blend cili api, bawang merah, putih, kunyit hidup and halia.
Tumis all the bended ingredients... bila dah naik bau... masukkan serai,santan and asam kepinga. Always stir.
Then when it started to boil put the udang galah, add salt and a pinch of sugar to taste.
Lower the heat. When the udang galah turned orange you'll know its ready.

Home Made playdough- Cooking version

Made these yesterday...It is a cooking version of home made playdough unlike the previous one which is need not to be cooked. Its is very easy to make.

The ingredients are as follows:

Plain flour - 1 cup
Water - 3/4 cup
Salt - 1/2 cup
Cream of tartar - 2 tablespoon
Cooking oil - 1 tablespoon

Method:

Firstly, what you do is, add all the ingredients in the saucepan.
Using a whisk stir the mixture until they are well mixed.
Next, with low-medium heat stir the mixture until it thickens.
Once the dough start gathering together around the spoon you know that it is ready.
You can now spoon it out and divided into few smaller ball depending on how many colours you want to make.
I like to add the colour after the dough is ready making it into smaller balls. You have to use your muscle to knead the dough after adding the colours of you choice.
However, you can also add the colours during mixing all the ingredients together. It is much easier and less hassle.

I enjoy making these, and my DD also enjoy playing with them. You can store them in a zip lock bag and it would last quite some time. I've read in a blog, hers lasted for a year! So please try making them and let me know how it turned out.

Homemade Chicken Nugget

It has been a while, I have been busy with the kids. Trying to came up with activities for them rather than letting them watch the TV all day.

Plus making and creating dishes for my picker eater DD. I've found this recipe here:

It is very easy to make, very tasty and healthier than the one you bought from the store since there is no additives and preservatives.

My daughter loves them. And now I dont buy chicken nuggets anymore...[^_^]

I used chicken breast...

I does look like the store bought nuggets right?!

I hope you enjoy making them as much as I do and you create you own flavour by aadding your own preferable spices like for example:

I've always wanted to make my own pizza...
After noticing that my DD LOVE eating pizza than nasi.... Her favourite topping is pepperoni. So, finally, putting my hands down...I've decided that I should try making one.
With a limited item....here it is!
Just plain old tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese, nothing else!
My DD still loving it!.

And as for the sauce I just use PREGO!!! hahahaha. Classic flavour or with mushroom.

Wow its been quite a while since I the last time I updated my blog.

I had actually made a few interesting dishes, but didn't have the chance to post it here. Anyway, this is one of the dishes that I've tried...Homemade Mini Burger...

The burger buns I've made using the same recipe as the sweet buns just opt out the powdered millk and make it plain.

Ground beef - a pound

p/s: when cooking the patty please DO NOT press down the patty, it will make the patty dry.

HOme Made Fish Cake

Fish cake is easy to make and also good to eat. My children loves them. Sometimes whenever I want my kids to eat vegetables, I will make this and dump in a few slices of carrots or celery etc... depending on what we have on that day.

This is one food that my kids take it as it is... no scheming for any 'aliens' in the foods. hehehe

Hope you like to eat and making them as much as I do. [^_^]

Ingredient:

Fish - I used leftover tenggiri goreng or alternatively you can boil a piece of fresh tenggiri.
Potato - boiled and mashed
Onion - 1
Garlic - 2
Fennel seed - 1 teaspoon ( crushed)
Coriander seed - 1 teaspoon (crushed0
Salt
Pepper
egg - 1 (
breadcrumbs

Method:

Sauté the fennel seed and coriander seed in a skillet (without oil) until you can smell the aroma.
Then remove the seeds using pastel and mortar crushed them until fine.
Next, chop the onion and garlic sauté them until they translucent and add in the fish (make sure you carik2 the fish first) and the seeds. Mix them well.
Add some salt & pepper according to your taste.
After that mix the sauté ingredients with the potatoes. Use your hands if you want them well mixed.
Make a round shape ( or any favourable shape you like), press a bit and dunk in the egg then in the breadcrumbs. Fry them in a shallow oil.
Enjoy!

p/s: You can add some carrot in it or any other veg. you like just make sure to mash them well or finely chop.

Play Dough has been in our childhood life since the beginning of time and for as long as I can remember.
It is both fun and educational. It can develop our little ones fine motor skills and imagination.
My little princess loves it sooo much! She always ask to play with play dough every day.

keep in the airtight container for 'freshness' [^_^]

The ingredients are:

All purpose flour - 1 cup
Salt - 1/4 cup
cooking oil - 1 tablespoon
water - approximately 50 ml
food colouring - depend to your liking. ( I used powder)

Method:

Mix all dry ingredient together and stir thoroughly.
Add the water bit by bit you until you have the desired texture, if its not enough you can add more and vice-versa.
Now you are done! Try it out.

p/s: keep it in an airtight container to avoid it becomes hard.. if it does, just knead it few times until it become soft again.

Hehehehehe...
I love making these sweet buns.
It is easy to make and good to eat.
Plus my family loves them.
Noticed that my buns looked fluffier than the first time I've made it. [^_^]
Practice makes Perfect! hehe.
These buns can be used as a basic dough to make other types of bread... example like pizza dough, bread sticks and mini sausage roll that I've posted in the previous post.

I've used mini sausage roll from Ayamas.. Black pepper ones, so it gives a little bit of 'heat' to the buns.

Breakfast...hmmmm..
I've made this quite sometime ago..
It is Tortilla Espanola....or in English, Spanish omelette.
Spanish omelette is typically Spanish dish consisting of a thick egg omelette made with potatoes and fried in olive oil.

The potatoes, ideally starchy rather than waxy ones, are cut and then rinsed in water to remove excess starch, then fried in olive oil at a moderate temperature until they are soft but not brown, then drained, mixed with raw beaten eggs, and slowly fried in a pan.

The tortilla is fried first on one side and then flipped over to fry on its other side. This may be done with the help of a plate or a "vuelve tortillas" (a ceramic lid-like utensil made for this particular purpose).

Wetting the plate prevents the tortilla from sticking when it is slid back into the pan. Other ingredients, especially onions, can be added.

The tortilla may be eaten hot or cold; it is commonly served as a snack or picnic dish throughout Spain. As a snack, it may be cut into bite-size pieces served on cocktail sticks.

My version of Spanish Omelette

Ingredients:

Egg
Potato
Onion
Garlic
Bay leaf

Preparation:

Sauté onion until it is soft.
Then add the potatoes, a little bit of water and the bay leaf.
When the potatoes is cooked remove the bay leaf.
The egg is beaten and cooked in a non-stick pan with a slow fire. Then put in the potatoes.
When the one side is cooked and set flipped it to cook the other side.
Ready to serve

I love bread! hehehe [^_^] and love baking them too!

I have this country bread recipe for quite sometime and never got the chance to try baking them. So this is the 1st. \(^o^)/

It is quite easy because it is no knead bread. Yes you see it right NO KNEAD whatsoever is necessary! [^_*]

So gorgeous isn't it?! hehe

Tak sabar nunggu... potong panas2 kui..kui..kui

Ingredients:

All purpose flour - 2 cups
Whole wheat flour - 1 cup
Multi-grain mix - 1/2 cup (didn't put in)
Yeast - 1/4 cup
Salt - 1 1/4 teaspoon
Water - 1 5/8 cups

Method:

Whisk dry ingredient thoroughly
Add water and stir
continue stirring for about 60s
Cover with plastic wrap and let it rest in a warm place for 18 hours
Will double in size and form in a baking pan
Rest the dough again for 2-3 hours
Bake for 45 minutes at 180C

My daughter loves to have apom for her evening tea. She will gobble everything up at a blink of an eye. hahaha. That is how much she loves them, and I love making things that she loves to eat...she's a very picky eater.

Just look how beautiful they've become!! hehehe (syok sendiri!)
Anyway, I've made these before using the same recipe:

Ingredient:

Sugar - 100gm
Egg - 1
Ovallete - 1/2 teaspoon
Vanilla - 1teaspoon
Flour - 100gm
Fresh milk - 150gm

Method:

Beat sugar and egg until kembang
Add ovallete and beat again
Add vanilla and beat again
Then add flour and milk bergilir-gilir.
Steam in hot boiling water for 12mins.

p/s: to ensure that the apom kembang.. u beat sugar with egg white first until btol2 kembang like meringue then you add the yolk

I've been meaning to write this quite sometime ago..but been busy attending the kids. They were down with flu, both of them! Aaaaaarrrgggghh!
Thats how it is with my kids. When 1 is sick the other tend to 'follow'. [^_^]. After they were done with it they transfered the virus to their dear mummy...sigh..always in that order. Last month was fever-flu-virus-attack month, so thats why the blog seemed to be 'dim' too. hehe

Anyway, the big cheer is for my dearest daughter, she is now 100% potty train!.. Yeay! actually it is been 3 months already...since she started schooling, at 3years and 1 month old! Mama so proud of you kakak! Muuaaahhhhhs!! [^_^].

Perhaps some mothers out there would feel 3 years is a bit too late but to me, it would came down to your child readiness to be potty trained or not. Frankly, I've trained her at the tender age of 1++ ..yes very young, since the day she was able to speak and understand what I'm saying. She was successfully potty trained during the day at 2. So she was no longer wearing any pampers during the day..only the nights and during travelling. hehe.

Slowly but constantly. That is my motto. That is how to make it work and to ensure your success. But the key is to be constant. And that is the hard part. Because I am a frequent traveller from Bintulu-Jitra, so the contant matter is difficult to realise. I think if I can constantly train her, she can be successfully potty trained earlier. Believe me, it can be done.

Homemade Mee Udang...

My hubby is very fond of noodle mee and kueteow especially... He is a foodie.. [^_^]

Here in Bintulu its very hard to find such things... especially the halal ones plus sedap according to our tekak la. Coz sometimes we could noodle with the same name ... but when we got to taste it...!@#$%^&*..no comment there.. huhu.

So, while I'm here..everytime I crave something or my hubby would like to eat something we always refer to Mr. Google. hehe [^_^]

This time my hubby nak makan mee udang. So I got the resepi from here.

My hubby said it was not bad. I did made some alteration to the recipe since I dont have all the ingredients in my pantry. hehe
