Nancy's Art/Ramblings/Visions/and Discoveries

2012-12-24T22:08:00.001-06:00

YES! It's been a year and more since I last wrote on my blog, but cyberspace is good to us all, and in almost 2013, my blog is still here! I left you last with dolls, dolls, dolls. A personal problem interrupted the flow, and the doll blog ceased. However, never one to be held under water, a new adventure has come a float!
Even though dolls were always #1 as I grew up... in my later years...let's call it the Fall of my life, I fell traps, bee bees and gun shots for squirrels. Ohhhh, their beady little eyes and back button noses! Squirrels always have equivocal on their faces. "What are you looking at now? Where are you going now? Are you looking at me? Do you have any bird seed now? I'm not sitting on the feeder, is it yours anyway? Why are you looking at me? Isn't this my tree? Is this your tree? Is this your bird seed or mine? I didn't climb on this bird feeder, is it yours anyway?"
So, to make a long story short....I always envisioned opening up a squirrel museum. After all, we are one of the black squirrel capitols of the world! (Please don't google that.)
AS luck would have it, I was out on a date with myself last Sunday afternoon, happened into a junk shop, and there....beholden to my unbelievable eyes....should be SQUIRREL TAXIDERMY...ripe for the pickin!
I bought them all, set them up in my humble dining room, and learned right quick that these here squirrels were just what the erstwhile blogger wanted; new squirrel meat! That is, the answer to a small town entertainment block: Roselyn and Her Inner City Squirrel Button Fly's!
( not to be compared to the Squirrel Nut Zippers). 5 squirrel Entertainment....and yes, folks, all dressed for the holidays.

Meet Roslyn ( singer), and her life-long neighbor, Elwood (xylophone)~

Rosey's brother Biff, (keyboards)~

Their cousin once removed, Scrappy, ( stand up bass)~

And... Mai Tai, ( on ukulele)~

Woah, Mai Tai...lay off the Santa beard sauce!! heh heh

Yes folks, the 2nd generation 5 swingin' squirrels will deliver a walloping punch to your musical festivities! But for now, they are content to lay low up on the Dutmer's buffet to celebrate holiday blessings that they didn't end up REALLY on the Dutmer's buffet menu, and they look forward to yours and their, new year adventures!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!

On to the new

2011-12-27T07:46:00.000-06:00

2011 almost at a close, and I am on to new adventures. So sorry, for those who eagerly awaited the doll blog daily, ( cough, cough), that it came to an untimely end. That's the way the cookie crumbles. I am now onto a social study. I have recently gotten involved in Pinterest, on the World Wide Web. I am now going to post a painting of mine to see how many times it gets re-pinned on the sight.
Here is the painting, "Trixie, The Tattooed Lady."

And now....I am pinning her. Happy New year!

The Breakup

2011-08-12T12:28:00.000-05:00

Harlequin White and Clowny had a break up......

...quite literally.

All the King's horses and all the King's men, couldn't put their lives back together again.

The Vogue Doll

2011-08-11T08:00:00.000-05:00

Well, lookey who's back on the blog... Me.... and a new doll! She is a quirky sort, to say the least. You would think from her stature and pudge that she would be a baby doll, but how could you call this the face of a baby?

Note: pouty red lips, luxurious lashes and nappy hair.

Yet, being an official Vogue Doll, as you can perhaps read on her tag, she has to have been in style, fashionable, trendy.

I decided she was way beyond her years, and the proof was in the pudding. I caught her watching Madonna Vogue clips on my computer.

I also caught her in our wine cabinet....

...and sneaking out for a cigarette!

Oh naughty naughty baby Vogue Babe!

Of course, what else can we expect from a doll who can wet herself from her derriere?

VOGUE! Vogue... Vogue....

Doll Inventory

2011-07-29T16:22:00.000-05:00

My original plan for Dutmer's Doll-A-Day, was to spend a year introducing all the dolls in Granny's doll cabinet. A year of dedication and imagination. (I hadn't even seen Julie & Julia then.) The idea was to clean out the cabinet (deemed scary by my daughter), weed out the undesirables, and possibly reacquaint myself with my Mother's, (aka Granny's), doll seeking travels and journeys. I had been a doll lover since I was a wee one, and I was not allowed to 'touch' the dolls in the cabinet. I can remember hours staring into the cabinet, and perhaps even back then, I created stories about the doll lives.

This past 7 months of doll blogging has dusted off parts of my imagination that had begun to rust. I have enjoyed dissecting each doll, and giving them a long awaited personality; but at the same time, the process, at times, has been challenging, frustrating, boring and exhausting.

Now, as I do inventory, this motley crew of dolls is all I have left to write about.

I still have 5 months, 1 day, 9 hours and 8 minutes left of my year's journey. I highly doubt this rag-tag assortment holds enough POW to keep the readers attention.

So, in leu of this predicament, Dutmer's Doll-A-Day may have it's life cut short. If the inevitable happens,

a. the dueling baby Jesus's will show up before Christmas,

b. my husband will be at long last relieved his harpy wife will no longer be a frustrated lump, worrying about the next day's bog,

and

c. I can get on with my book publishing attempts, so that you will ALL

have the chance to place Dutmer's Doll-A-Day on your coffee table!

For now, since I still have a little more fire in me ( and a few good dolls),

the bog lives on!!

Let's Hear It For the Boobs!

2011-07-27T08:59:00.000-05:00

There have been blogs about blondes, shoes, hats and food. Now it's time to glorify the almighty BUST! After all, many musical composers did just that!

"June is busting out all over! All over the meadows and the lanes."

"Tits and Ass, bought myself a fancy pair... tightened up the derriere.
Did the nose with it, all that goes with it."

"I'm gonna be a celebrity, that means somebody everyone knows.
There gonna recognize my eyes, my hair my teeth my boobs my nose."

"It's what's upfront that counts, baby."

"The neck bone's connected to the shoulder bone. The shoulder bone's connected to the breast bone...."

"When the red red Robin goes bob bob bobbin along."

Knockers, hooters, gagas, jugs. Bon Bons, boulders, cantaloupes, bulbs.

Fried eggs, hand warmers, honkers and mams. Marangos, melons, tatas and glands.

WAIT A MINUTE! That's Granny doll.....game over! This is sick and wrong......

Lily

2011-07-26T12:04:00.000-05:00

You've no doubt heard of Tiger Lily~

And surely you know Easter Lily's~

surrounded by bunnies, lambs and chicks.

Then of course there's "High Lily high Lily Hi Lo," the song from Carnival!

How about "Consider the Lily's of the field?"

Here's one more Lily to add to the group. She is Lily, Queen of the Day Lily's.

Lily is a pudgy little doll from Germany with the year 1936 written on her leg in pencil.

Lily has declared herself the Lady Over All Lily's and who am I to argue?

If she thinks she's a queen, alright...she's a queen.....

considering her fists are primed to plant one on my nose.

Hail Queen Lily!

Clowny Goes Home

2011-07-25T10:28:00.000-05:00

Clowny [blogs 1/12/11 and 1/20/11], was in sad shape. After years of traveling on the road with the Flying Gorgonzola Brothers, he was a down trodden clown. He was broken, beaten, worn out and just plain pooped. So, he decided to sojourn on a quest to discover his roots. His mission brought him to Baraboo, home of the
World's Largest Clown Museum
in the world!

As soon as he entered, he knew he had come home at long last. Upon arrival, he was met at the entrance by his old Uncle Milky. Milky adored Milky Ways, strawberry and chocolate milk, and sometimes Milky Ways in his strawberry or chocolate milk, so what better way to honor his memory, than a portrait on milk glass.

Next, he visited the room of extraordinary feats, and hanging above the Twisted Pretzel Clown's portrait, was a painting of his Grandfather, Grampy Zany. GZ, as they called him, could play the harmonica and keep 6 balls in the air, while juggling 3 flat tires with one leg. Not only that, his pants would raise and drop at scheduled intervals while explosions of confetti burst out of his hat.

Clowny did his best to emulate him, but he never quite had the wag or dexterity needed for his exceptional feats.

In room three, he discovered dear old Uncle Bumbleshoots. He was one class act. After having both of his legs broken in a runaway circus stampede, it didn't impede his rise to clown~dom. His buddy with the prancing horses, lent him a ball, and Bumbleshoots invented the one and only

Rolling Rubber Legs Clown Brigade!

His display was so popular, the museum had a commemorative band playing there 24/7. Clowny sat in with them for a spell, but then he moved on in search of the real reason he had come.

At long last, he found what he was searching for. In room 25, there was portrait of his dear old Ma Maw.

She used to ride the bareback horses, and tumble to and fro off of their backs onto Uncle Bumbleshoots, and back onto the horses. Clowny adored his Mother. She was the most beautiful clown in all of the circuses far and wide.

Unfortunately, she met her fate one sad rainy day in front of a measly 30 person turn out at the Big Time Chautauqua. As she somersaulted off Rosey Girl, the favored pony, Thunder hooves, the world's largest shetland discovered Rosey's heat. He plowed over Clowny's poor Ma Maw to make beautiful ponies together with Rosie, right there in the center ring! I tell ya, it was not a pretty sight.

Clowny, only 5 years old, was doing his tumbling act in Ring 3 with Sasha and her bouncing ShiTzus. He witnessed the whole thing.

A sad memory for Clowny this day at the

World's Largest Clown Museum,

so he pressed on to room 501.

There, in a corner, under a string of cobwebs, clowny discovered, his Poppy.

Long forgotten, Clowny's Dad, Mr. Zippy, was once adored by all. He was a sentimental clown; one who adored children of all ages. They would flock to him to bounce on his knee. Clowny bounced on that knee many a time, but after the death of his wife combined with stock crash of 1929, Mr. Zippy disappeared into oblivion. Clowny ever saw him again.

It was rumored he took off with Trixie the Tatooed Lady to start a commune in Connecticut.

Anyway, Clowny was at long last satisfied that he had touched base with his relatives, as sad as the recollections may have been.

We all need to go home once in a while, even if home lies in our fragile memories.

Show Girl's New Gig

2011-07-24T09:08:00.000-05:00

Show Girl is back on the boards in a new gig! She teamed up with the cast of Chicago's Gangster Follies one afternoon as they were rehearsing their big feather bump and grind number.

Show Girl became a huge hit with the cast, and they invited her to stay on for the bus and truck run starting September in Poughkeepsie, and ending in Lower Chemung's east side sometime late spring.

It just goes to prove the old adage, "A pretty girl is like a melody....."

"Now just hold on there Missy," whined Pretty Doll.

"I am the pretty doll in the cabinet. My name, after all, is Pretty Doll! What makes YOU so special?"

Show Girl, having a tad more maturity plus the reassurance of her former mob connection bosses,

chose to walk away without a conflict.

And that's when Pretty Doll showed her ugliest side.

She took down Show Girl and the fight ensued!

Of course, Pretty Doll, having a good size more weight on her than Show Girl, immediately got the upper hand. After all, a PRETTY Show Girl, watches her petite figure incase there's call for a topless parade.

(I knew that would end the fight.)

Pretty Doll got up to go purge the bacon and egg MacDuffin she ate for breakfast.

Show girl went back to rehearsal.

"...she's like a melody that haunts you night and day...."

Fontaine and the Deer

2011-07-23T07:30:00.001-05:00

You would be amazed at the talents of this doll. She is from Switzerland, and I suppose living in the Alps gets lonely from time to time, especially in the winter. So, she developed this special talent; Fontaine is a deer whisperer.

No matter where she roams, deer come up to her for a chat.

It is not for me to say, or for her to tell, what they whisper about, but Fontaine keeps very busy with her skill.

She whispers to ten point bucks, does and fawns.

My Mother taught me that it was not polite to whisper in front of others, and perhaps so did Fontaine's, so she created a chat room in which the deer and the antelope could play. There, she tunes into miniscule brains for a telepathathic chat.

She had her Great Grandmother, Reggie, paint a mural in her chat room to make her deer fellows feel more at home.

Now, not only deer show up. but also moose~

~and squirrel.

(Sorry, I had to say that...get it? Moose and squirrel? Bull-winkle?)

~ANYWAY~

Fontaine has shared conversations with some of the most elderly deer in the world, (even though they're numbers are low, due to the deer-in-headlights mentality).

She tries to teach her deer about road safety, and what every Doe wants but is afraid to ask, entitled Rutting For Chicks 101. Fontaine also teaches the deer how to polish their antlers incase they end up on a hunter's wall. Included in that lesson is keeping fit and trim as to not make fatty parts to spoil their meat.

It's a rare gift she has. Think of her if you see a passing deer. It's possible Fontaine has whispered sweet nothings in it's radar ears.

We Are Siamese

2011-07-22T08:45:00.000-05:00

We are Siamese if you please...We are Siamese if you don't please.

Now we're looking over our new domicile~

If we like we stay for maybe quite awhile.

Do you hear what I hear...a baby cry?

Where we finding baby there be milk near by.

If we look in baby buggy there could be....plenty of milk for you and also some for me.

Do you see that thing swimming round and round?

Maybe we can reaching in and make it drown.

If we sneaking up upon it carefully~there will be a head for you, a tail for me.

OKAY! That's it. There will be no ripping fish apart on my blog. Annie, you aren't even Siamese. What are you doing in this segment?

Don't try to sneak by me with those pointed ears. Can't you see, this doll on the left is Siamese? She was around when Thailand was Siam.

Note her long pointy fingernails, and temple-style hat.

She is dressed in the taffeta and brocade fashions of old Siam. YOU are dressed as Annie, with jewelry on.

Let's see you make that move on that bottle Miss Smartypants. Let's see you contort your arms and legs in typical Siamese fashion.

Right, I didn't think so.

Now be a good little cartoon character and mosey on back to the doll cabinet,

or you will be replaced with Little Lottie.

More Faceless Faces

2011-07-21T07:30:00.000-05:00

In this nameless, faceless, we-are-just-a-number world, what do we need with another faceless doll? Can't help it, there is yet one more featureless doll in the blog. She may be faceless, but she is not characterless!
Meet Superstar. She visited with Faceless Man and the Windom's...you'll know which one she is.

I gotta tell ya, interviewing all these mouthless, faceless people is a challenge on my part

[See blog 4/5/11].

"Superstar! Wow, that is an impressive name. Did you get that name because you have reached some lofty goal, or is is a nickname perhaps?"

"Ohhhhhh, you got the name from your Mother...well, isn't that just dandy. I can see you have very long legs! It's clear you are not a member of the Windom, or Face less Man's family..heh heh."

"WOW! Easier to pick up your leg then, isn't it? Look at that Mrs. Windom, she can clear your head and then some. Actually, she could clear the couch with those legs."

"Oh my, isn't that a cozy picture? Well, Superstar, I didn't really mean you needed to clear the couch with your impressive gams. Uh... are you alright Mr. Windom?

I think you're turning pink."

Superstar, clearly you have been blessed with many talents!"

("I don't think tact or decorum is one of them.")

"Nice splits, by the way."

"OOh, lunch time! Anyone for chicken legs?"

Clay-nation

2011-07-20T07:43:00.000-05:00

Previously, we covered that some dolls in Granny's doll cabinet are not dolls at all.
We've had a paper award, [blog 4/1/11],

disembodied heads and wooden arms [2/23/11],

and toy soldiers [blog 3/11/11].

There are also clay statues. They measure in between 2 1/2- 3 inches tall, and who knows where they came from?

#1 The Guru

He's been walking the world so long, his legs are cracked at the knees. A nomad with no cares, all he travels with is a sack on his back. His identity remains anonymous, yet his pedestal bears the fingerprint of his maker.

#2 The Mother

In all the world, no one loves their child like this statuette. She has been hugging the dear baby for at least a century. The child is content, the Mother is content. You can tell by her soft smile that carrying this baby for a century is no burden, simply a labor of love; a tribute to Mother's everywhere.

#3 & 4 The Foreigners

Their nationality is up for guesses, but their costume details are a marvel. Although the poor woman is missing a foot, she manages to stand on her own amidst folds of fabric and a sash made of minute colored clays, rolled as thin as a toothpick.

Look at the sandals on their feet. While the man dons fringe and hat decorations, each have tiny toes and fingers, and small, plaintive faces.

They are off to a celebration! A traditional gathering in which he will dance with abandon, and she will group with other women, clucking, chatting and passing their speciality dishes.

Although I personally never gave these figures much notice, I can now see why they were chosen by Granny to live honorably in her doll cabinet. Each one bears the artisans devotion to his craft.

Each one has a story..... if you stop by the cabinet long enough to notice.

Shopping Spree!

2011-07-19T09:40:00.000-05:00

Madame Mahavira took in her apprentice today. Guess who LOVES sparkles, satins, silks, beads and feathers more than anyone else in the doll cabinet???

Oh....you guessed it......

the crazy Egyptian!

Madame had to take a trip into the city for another rich customer's beckoning, and the Egyptian, who loves anything that shines,

[ see blog 4/29/11 ], BEGGED to go along!

Madame, showed him the ropes.

Ropes of sequins, that is!

On to the trimmings!

Truly, he was an egyptian in paradise. On the way home, he pouted over not getting to pick out strands of beading to embellish his sarcophagus.

So Madame let him ride in the bags!

When she opened the bags...he was flushed feathers, bewildered with beads, ravished with ropings, and drunk on designs!

"Dancing by the Nile, the ladies love his style.

He could have won a grammy, buried in his jammies! King Tut!"

Molly O' Dolly

2011-07-18T07:57:00.000-05:00

We think we're hot right now....how about the wardrobe on this doll, Molly?

On the surface she dons a bonnet with a really long satin sash, over her mile long hair which is twisted and turned into an up-do. Her upper torso is wrapped in a velvet coat.

She sports a taffeta dress to the ground, because, heaven forbid, an ankle would show.

Under her taffeta overskirt, is a perky polka dot slip made of tulle and more taffeta.

Under the slip, are.....

bloomers, made of the same quirky polka dots.

Under the bloomers...

Are toasty warm tights, so every inch of this woman, sans, her hands and face, are covered!

Of course, if this were real time, even her hands would be covered with gloves.

So, sweat away in the July heat wave, Molly O'Dolly! At least your virtue will be sacred!

Who could find it under all those layers?

2011-07-17T08:19:00.000-05:00

We're havin a heat wave~A tropical heat wave.

The temperatures rising, it isn't surprising~she certainly can,
can can!

She started a heatwave~ by letting her seat wave,

in such a way that the customers say that she certainly can, can-can!

Gee, Gee! Her anatomy makes the mercury rise to ninety three!

We're havin' a heat wave a tropical heat wave.

The way that she moves....

The thermometer proves...

that she certainly can~

I certainly certainly certainly can~

can-can!

Nun-Tiki

2011-07-16T08:58:00.000-05:00

Weeeeeeeee! Look who snuck out for a night at the Tiki bar.

I'm not talking about that cute blonde...No, I'm talking...

the Flying Nun!

She said it was because there was an air-show, and, being a flying Nun, she wanted to see the planes.

Later, however, after several glasses of wine, a couple Miatia's, one large Bahama Mama

and shots for the whole bar,

the Flying Nun got lost in the swizzle sticks....

fell into the a Blue Hawaiian....

climbed out just in time for the limbo....

They partied hardy dancing to Tiny Bubbles...

but after that... the Nun..... and the cute blonde.....

were done for the night!

They even missed the hula contest!

The Noseworthy Twins

2011-07-15T07:30:00.001-05:00

I opened the doll cabinet, and inquired if anyone would like an interview. On the European side, Hither and Yon, the Noseworthy twins, jumped at the chance. They said their bums were getting rather tired sitting day after day.

The interview commenced henceforth:

Me: So, which one is Hither, and which one is Yon?

Hither: I'm Hither, Oi'm the one wit the creme beld on. Oim the lahger of we two, as oi was bohn fihst. I guess oi goht mohr fish n chips, riht Yon? Uh, she's Yon.

The Queen's Amnesty Day

2011-07-14T14:26:00.000-05:00

While pouring herself a lively cocktail one pleasant day, Queen Elizabeth declared amnesty for all Scots, in honor of Rob Roy (the Queen's favorite libation).

On this momentous occasion, she insisted on a plaid parade. All the well dressed Brits, Scots and even "THOSE Irish", attended.

Right off the bat there is MacGregor Stewart Ross McBain sporting a typical Stewart plaid, on his rousing bagpipe. He is also donning a Rose plaid upon his stylish kilt and swag.

Not a shy Scotsman, MacGregor pushed his way to the front of the amnesty line in order to partake with the Queen when she pours her first 5 o'clock cocktail!

Next up, is the Queen's own faithful man servant, Horace Wilky

He's wearing a Johnston plaid. To quote Horace, "You don't have to call me Johnston!"

After Horace is a new girl. She is a true Scottish Lassie, named Bonnie Gunn.

Bonnie, dressed in full kiltie regalia is wearing a Royal Stewart plaid, and she's not real happy about it, as you can see. The Gunns and Stewarts have a long running tribal feud, yet her dear Great Auntie was a Gunn and a Stewart (illegal cousin marriage), and thought the Queen's amnesty might be a smart way to end the riff.

Sauntering in after Bonnie is our old pal, Scotty, the Scot who wanted to experience St. Patrick's Day.

Scotty's kilt and socks are of the Erskine lineage. (He too is anxiously awaiting a Rob Roy).

Another of the Queen's personal guards backed up Scotty, just to make sure the blinkin' Scotsman didn't get out of line. After all, how could you trust a Scot who went out on St. Patrick's Day? This guard, whom we shall call Number One, is wearing a MacEwen plaid, which must incorporate the Queen's favorite colors, as all her proper guards are wearing it.

Rounding out the parade are the British twins, The Noseworthy's, Hither and Yon.

Me: What plaid are you girl's wearing today?

Hither: Oim not quite sure...what did Mum say about this garb, Yon?

Yon: Oim not quite sure either, sweety. I think it's blend of MacNaughton and Ogilvie, with a bit o' Drummand and Perth, rounded out by a smidge of MacAlister.

Me: Are these Queen approved plaids?

Hither: Oh yes! Mum bought them at the Queen's garage sale! It was right after that poor incident with tha dear, sweet Princess Diana.

(Me in my mind: The queen's garage sale?)

Anyway. ...that sums up the first annual (?) Amnesty Rob Roy Plaid Parade, and now, we are all popping off to the local pub to show off our good hearted spirits and partake in some good hearted spirits, as well.

Cheers!

Perky/Pouty Baby Doll

2011-07-13T09:19:00.000-05:00

You've met the Happy/Sad Baby Doll,

and now meet the Perky/Pouty!

Here she is Perky....

...and if you squeeze her belly, she's pouty!

I asked her if she would like some ice cream. She was elated!

Then, I realized we were out of ice cream....woops!

Then I got out the cookies, and she was sooooo happy.

However, I had to tell her, that it was toooo close to her supper, and that brought about a pout.

The little baby doll got so excited to play with the dog!

Our dear little Maizy May, wanted no such thing! Bring on the pout!

The dog pouted too.

Then I said, "It's time to go back into the cabinet......"

Poor little Pouty/Perky Baby Doll.

Just remember, it takes more of my muscles than your muscles to pout~ than it takes for you to smile!

I guess that perked her right up!

Hide and Go Seek With the Girls

2011-07-12T07:12:00.000-05:00

Another rousing game of hide and go seek occurred to day, to chase away the mid-summer doldrums.
See how crafty Elmira and Hepna can be.

At the diner~

Tucked away in a forgotten corner~

In the refrigerator~

Can you spot them with the 4th of July centerpiece?

Oh, clever girls!

And last but not least, in the wild kingdom.

Ah, you saw them didn't you? They are mastering their disguise.

Let's follow them again on some future date, to see where hey hide.

Red Doll Meets An Art Star!

Red Doll received an invitation to an art show this weekend...featuring a VERY famous local artist. Her initials are CJC, and her work is locally renowned! Red Doll was very honored to have this privilege to rub elbows with working artists! Nothing says welcome like a Mama in an apron at the door!

Many people were milling about enjoying this gala event.

There was even a musician plunking out welcome music!

Red Doll took it all in. Here she poses with an artist's sculpture. She fits right in! She imagined it to be an exotic cloak from bygone days of Florence Ziegfield!

She had a conversation with the artist's pet bird...

Then....Red Doll viewed the artist's self portrait...

....and along came....

the artist!!!

Quite the day for Red Doll! When she came home, she spread out her paint set, began to create, and she's still painting today!

Thanks CJC for your inspiration!

Faceless Man Goes To the Antiques Roadshow!

2011-07-10T09:34:00.000-05:00

The Antiques Roadshow rolled into Minneapolis on Saturday. The Faceless Man, having a very small sense of worth, decided he would go. When he arrived, there were long lines, and he pretty much felt like antique cattle, as the people were shuffled through theme park-esque lines.

As he arrived at the brink of the main room, they told him no cameras from now on...so his journey can only be described as tales told from long ago.

After receiving his doll ticket, he was ushered to the doll line. As luck would have it, no one was in the doll line.

Faceless man stepped up. Tables surrounding the room of high end antique dealers from the BIG apple, pierced him with disdained eyes.

He spoke...they spoke....he thanked them....turned and walked away.

As luck would have it....no cameras were allowed to capture Faceless Man's humility. Deemed worthless, as he suspected, he slumped back home to the doll cabinet.

Once again, I cradled him in my hands telling him, "Faceless Man, you are very valuable to me. All dolls are equal in my eyes. Someone created you with love, and you shall live out your humble life surrounded by my love and the loving dolls in the cabinet."

As he went back to the cabinet, the dolls were very silent...and then Mammy Belinda scooped Faceless Man up into her arms and gave him a great big Mammy bear hug.

The Love Pony nuzzled him and all the dolls let out a great sigh.

Yep, all dolls are created equal.

Junky Monkey Meets the Camel

2011-07-08T07:30:00.000-05:00

Junky Monkey was making the rounds one fine day, checking out the local junk, antique and thrift stores.

When he got to the thrift store, he found some of the old cronies hanging out in the stuffed animal department. So, junky Monkey sat down to chew the fat.

When he got ready to leave, he discovered one of the dolls from the cabinet there. It was Camel, and he was grooving with the stuffies at the thrift store too.

Junky Monkey lives on a different shelf from Camel, so their paths hadn't crossed yet, but he recognized him right off.

So, when Camel went over to the fabric department, Junky Monkey hopped on over and right onto Camel's back! Camel was surprised, but pleased to meet a member of the cabinet.

Now, the two of them are fast friends, and Junky Monkey is going to introduce Camel to the Love Pony. I'm SURE it will be love at first sight!
