I've been obsessed with polka dots for a couple of months; reason why I couldn't resis when I saw this black skirt with white dots on the Chictopia Shop. This time, I wanted to add a little color with the purple top- also, I added the white blazer to polish it a little! I wore this to a get-together at a friend's house! Do you like polka-dots? Desde hace unos meses que me encantan las piezas con puntitos, razón por la que no me pude resistir al ver esta faldita negra con puntitos en la tiendita de Chictopia. En esta ocasión quise darle un poco de color con un top morado de Zara y hacerlo un poco más sobrio con el blazer blanco. I love dressing up, even if it's just to go out with my boyfriend to have dinner. This time I really wanted to wear this red blouse with sequined collar; I paired it with my favorite black skirt (I already posted a remix with all the ways I've worn this skirt). A mi me encanta arreglarme, así sea solo para ir la cena obligatoria semanal con mi novio- esta vez combiné una camisa roja con el cuello de lentejuelas con mi falda negra favorita (ya hice un remix.. pueden ver todas las formas como la he usado AQUI). Le agregué las medias negras porque siento que se ve muy cortita al usarla con tacones. También mantuve los accesorios al mínimo para que toda la atención estuviera en la camisa. I promised I would share more of what I wear to the university.. so here's a super comfy outfit with my flared jeans and a flowy shirt. I don't know if I have mentioned something about how short my semesters are- they are actually called quarters (4 a year and they last 11 weeks)- and the 1st quarter of the year is about to end, which means FINAL PROJECTS! As you can imagine, I've been super busy with huge projects due in the next two weeks- I have to do a store window display, develop a fictitious full line of 6 products (from the designing process to the launch of the store), and do an ad for "evening wear" where I'm the model! I'll definitely share the end results! About my outfit: if I wear heels to school, 99% of the times are wedges. Also, I absolutely love this shirt- I really like the asymmetrical hem and the slits on the shoulders! HAVE AN AMAZING FRIDAY! Xoxo

Les prometí más outfits de universidad...así que hoy les traigo uno con jeans cómodos. No se si les he contado pero en mi universidad los "semestres" son "quarters"- porque son 4 al año y pasan VOLANDO (ya en primer quarter del 2012 está apunto de acabarse y estoy a millón con los proyectos finales). Hay varios trabajos que me encantaría mostrarles- uno de ellos es una vitrina de tienda que vamos a hacer, otro en el que tengo que ser yo misma "la modelo" de un anuncio en la clase de publicidad, y finalmente uno de una colección de zapatos que hice (había que desarollarlos desde el diseño hasta la invitación del lanzamiento de la colección!) Así que como se pueden imaginar.. he estado ocupadísima con la universidad. Sobre mi outfit: la camisa la compré en Forever 21 hace muchísimo tiempo, me gusta mucho que es asimétrica (más larga por detrás) y me encantan los huequitos en la parte de los hombros. FELIZ VIERNES! Un abrazotote!

pd: siempre que menciono algo de la universidad me preguntan que estudio. Estudio "Fashion Merchandising"- todo la parte de la moda que no es diseñar y coser; desde publicidad de moda hasta la producción de fashion shows.

1. Jeans color menta (Forever 21, $29:) muchas usaron jeans o piezas de este color en el resto de pasteles.. y quiero un par de jeans como este!

Chevy Oscar Party

For the day of the Oscars I got this fun invitation thanks to Chevy to spend the day of pampering and fashion with other Miami Fashion bloggers. At the beginning I had no idea what to wear because they said "comfy and cute"- so what's comfier than a maxi skirt and a tank top!? The day started at the Chevrolet dealership where we all got together and the had cars ready for each of us (and the drivers where dressed in bow ties and everything, as you can see below). After that, they took us to a hair salon called "Blo"- they specialized in blow-drying and dry hair styling. I got fun braided fun and lavender nail polish (I posted pics on Instagram...@nanysklozet). They also treated us with pink champagne and delicious cupcakes/candies. After that, our next stop was to watch the Oscar's red carpet- Chevy decorated the place super cute, it had even a small red carpet and movie decorations. It was a great experience, and I love meeting with Miami blogger. I added a lot of pics below, hope you like them! XOXO

Para el día de los Oscars recibí una invitación cheverísima de parte de Chevrolet- en la mañana no tenía idea que ponerme, pero que más cómodo que una falda larga + camiseta + plataformas. El día empezó en la concesión de Chevrolet donde nos encontramos un grupo de bloggers y tenían carros listos para cada una (y cada carro con su chofer vestido con su corbatita y todo, como van a poder ver abajo). De ahí nos llevaron a un salón de belleza llamado "Blo"- ya que solo se especializan en secado de cabello y peinados (es decir no cortan ni pintan). Ahí nos consintieron peinandonos, y pintandonos las uñas (puse unas fotitos en Instagram- @nanysklozet); también había champagna rosada, cupcakes, gomitas, y más dulces. Después de eso seguimos nuestro recorrido, la siguiente parada era ver la alfombra roja. Y Chevy decoró el lugar lindísimo todo como si estuviéramos en la alfombra roja y con muchísima comida. Fue una experiencia increíble y lo mejor siempre es poder compartir con otras bloggers! Abajo puse bastantes fotitos del evento, espero que les gusten! Un abrazo grandísimo!

Wearing PASTEL COLORS!

Finally.....my challenge outfit is up! I had a small technical difficulty with my camera so I asked Flor to delay her post for a couple of hours. As you can see, the regular high Miami temperatures seem to be back- checking out my latest posts, it's all short skirts and dresses. I wanted to wear this cute pleated skirt for the challenge- I've had it for a while but it has a weird black elastic band that didn't go with anything I wanted to wear. So I decided to hide the the elastic thing- which made the skirt SUPER short, and I had to improvise with mini shorts to avoid any type of accidents! I wore it with this gorgeous netted top (which is cropped and I can only wear with high waisted bottoms...I want a high waisted trouser just to wear it with it!!) Finally I added a metallic belt my mom gave me on Christmas, my floral pumps, and random gold accessories. I hope you liked the outfit and don't forget to add your link if you wore pastels recently! Finalmente las fotos del reto están aquí, tuve un problema técnico con la cámara (y tuve que pedirle a Flor que atrasáramos el reto unas hojitas)... pero aquí está! Como que ya llegó a Miami otra vez , y como pueden ver en los últimos posts, todo ha sido faldas y vestiditos. Decidí usar esta falda color rosa pastel que no había usado porque tiene como un elástico negro que no me convence (especialmente porque siempre quería usarla con colores crema)- entonces quise esconderla doblándola (lo que hizo que la falda quedara mucho más corta de lo que pensaba y tuve que improvisar con un short cortito debajo... "es mejor prevenir que lamentar"). Lo combiné con esta camisa que me FASCINA- quiero un pantalón a la cintura para poder usarla porque es cortita- agregué un cinturón delgado que me regaló mi mama de Navidad, mis mary-janes de florecitas, y uno que otro accesorio dorado sencillo. I'm sure you remember the look on the right, I just wore it last week to have dinner with my parents while they were in Miami (check it out HERE: "Wear it backwards")... but what you didn't know is that the look was a little different a couple of hours earlier (more casual and more comfortable). I just switched the white shorts for a tight skirt and the wedges for umps. At first I didn't want to publish the 1st look because they look so similar- and the one with the detail in the front is much cuter! However, I thought it was a cool idea to show you that you don't need to completely change to go out at night.. just switch a couple of pieces! I hope you liked it! XOXO

Estoy segura que reconoces el look de la derecha (ya que lo vieron AQUI: "Wear it backwards")- y como les dije, era el outfit perfecto para ir a salir con mi familia a comer. Pero hubo un look un poquito diferente unas horas antes; más casual, más cómodo y con la camisa como va originalmente (con el detalle en la espalda). Como pueden ver el outfit es básicamente el mismo, solo que tiene unas plataformas en vez de tacones y unos shorts. También pudiera haber una tercera variación, con unos jeans blancos y unos flats. Originalmente no lo iba a publicar porque se parecían mucho pero me parece que es una idea chevere, no tener que cambiarnos totalmente en la noche- en vez, cambiemos una que otra pieza para adaptarlo a la ocasión. ¿Qué opinas? Lately I have been obsessed with royal blue- as soon as I saw this shirt, I loved it (not only because of the color, you know I love cute details on the collar too). WHen I was linking the shirt, I realized the model wore it with a striped skirt too ( I completely forgot, I'm sure it stayed on my subconscious or something). My boyfriend's family is in town visiting and we went out to have dinner with them at a Mexican restaurant. Reason why I wanted to look casual but still cute and put-together. No se porque últimamente me atraen mucho las piezas azul rey- y apenas vi esta camisa me encanto (no solo por el color sino también el detalle que tiene en el cuello <3 ). Me acabo de dar cuenta que la modelo en la página de la camisa también estaba usando una falda de rayas- pero de verdad que se me había olvidado completamente (tal vez se quedó en mi inconsciente!). La familia de mi novio está de visita en Miami, y fuimos a comer- quería usar algo casual y cómodo pero que se viera arregladito al mismo tiempo. I feel like I haven't done a "Celebrity inspired- look for less" in a while- this time I chose Kristin Cavallari wearing a pleated leather skirt. I looked for this type of skirt for so long, I know H&M has one but the closest store is almost two hours away. So finally found one at a reasonable price at Storets, the shipping was free and I swear it arrived in just one day (considering it came from the UK). My complete look, head-to-toes costs under $150- details below- while just Kristin's skirt is over $400 (and that's not even looking at her $3,500 Chanel bag). Siento que tenía tiempo sin hacer un look por menos- en este caso escogí a Kristin Cavallari usando una falda de cuero con pliegues. Tenía meses buscando una falda como esta, se que H&M tiene una pero en Miami no hay esa tienda- pero la vi en una página de internet llamada Storets a un precio razonable... y no lo podía creer, llegó en 2 días (considerando que venía de Inglaterra!). Mi look completo, de pies a cabeza, cuesta menos de $150- mientras solo la falda de Kristin, de Alice+Olivia, cuesta $400 (y eso sin contar su Chanel de $3,500). Tengo muchísimas ideas para esta falda, creo que no me la voy a quitar por un buen tiempo. Espero que les haya gustado el outfit; FELIZ VIERNES y FELIZ FIN DE SEMANA! Un abrazo!

When I do a "remix", I like having at least 5 completely different looks- I feel like I challenge myself more if I have 5 looks in mind instead of three (like most of sites do). This week I realized that I have a lot of remixes with 3-4 looks (from green jeans and metallic jeans, to a leather, a floral, and a yellow skirt). I'm going to wear this pieces soon so I don't feel like the "remix" is incomplete. This time I chose a black sheer blouse- I've worn it with a strapless stop underneath in look #1, with a detachable collar (look #2), button up with a necklace (look #3) and open as a cardigan (look #4)... and I'm SURE you will see this shirt a lot more here!

A mi me gusta hacer remixes con al menos 5 looks totalmente diferentes- así me reto más a mi misma. Pero esta semana me di cuenta que tengo muchísimos remixes de 3-4 looks (jeans verdes, jeans metálicos, falda amarilla, camisa beige, falda de cuero, y falda de estampado floral)- voy a intentar usar justamente esas piezas estas semanas para completarlos a 5 y no sentir que el remix esta "incompleto". Hoy les muestro esta camisa ancha negra- un poco transparente. La he usado con una camisa strapless debajo para que la transparencia se vea como un detalle (look 1), con un cuello quita-y-pon (look 2), cerrada hasta el último botón con un collar debajo (look 3) y abierta como si fuera un cardigan (look #4).

This weekend was a long one because yesterday was "President's day"- which meant.. no class; and the best part was that Miami had perfect weather the past couple of days, sunny but not humid! Reason why on Sunday, we headed to the beach for a little bit- we ate there and enjoyed the gorgeous afternoon. We went to Key Biscayne, because they allow dogs there and there were a lot of people swimming in the beach and on little sailboats. About my outfit: I wore an oversize vintage blouse from Furor as a swimsuit coverup (with a big hat and comfy summer sandals). Thank you so much for stopping by! You rock!

Este fin de semana fue fin largo porque el lunes fue "President's day" (el día del presidente); no solo no hubo clases, ni trabajo.. sino que también Miami nos regaló unos días espectaculares, con sol pero frescos. El domingo decidimos pasar un rato por la playa, comimos por la zona y aprovechamos para ver el atardecer en la playa. Fuimos a una a la cual pueden ir los perritos, y había muchísima gente bañandose en la playa, en veleros, o simplemente disfrutando del día. Sobre mi outfit: estoy usando mi blusa vintage de Furor, como me quede bastante larga decidí usarla encima del traje de baño. Tampoco podía faltar un sombrero grande y unas sandalias veraniegas. While the first time I wore these jeans was with a denim shirt, making it really casual- this time I tried more of classic combo- staple pieces every woman should have in their closet: black pumps, a classic bag, and a white blouse. Instead of adding a necklace, I added a black ribbon to make a little bow. I wore this outfit to get together with a couple of friends at a friend's place- he was cooking and I swear he does the best argentinian bbq in the whole world! Mientras que la primera vez que utilicé estos jeans fue en una combinación más casual por denim- en esta ocasión quise mantener todas las piezas muy clásicas para que los pantalones fueran como la parte divertida y trendy del outfit. En vez de utilizar un collar con la blusa blanca, la cerré hasta el cuello y amarré una cinta negra en forma de lazito. Este outfit lo utilicé para ir a casa de la novia de un amigo, en donde nos reunimos todo mi grupo y la pasamos súper chevere! El es argentino, y les juro que hace el mejor churrasco y chimichurri del mundo ¿Qué opinan de esta forma de usar los jeans de leopardo? FELIZ LUNES! Un abrazo!

I spent most of my day yesterday at IKEA- I got this crazy idea of turning the living room into my little fashion office. Let me explain you, I don't know why my apartment had two living rooms so we put walls/door in one of them and made it into what was supposed to be). I seriously love how it looks so far ( I tweeted and put a preview on instagram, I'm @nanysklozet on both), it's exactly what I had in mind for it. After walking like crazy in IKEA, we headed to eat with my family. A couple of people stared at my hair accessory, but I don't care.. I think it's amazing, it really transform a casual outfit like this one. I was super comfy in a tank top, a blue maxi skirt, and sandals! Hope you are having an amazing weekend! XOXO

Ayer pasé casi todo el día en IKEA porque me dió por convertir la sala en mi oficina. Les explico un poquito, el apartamento donde vivo tenía dos salas- entonces pusimos cerramos una de las salas para convertirla en un cuartito, y tenía en mente que fuera como mi oficina. Me encanta como está quedando, de verdad que así era como la visualizaba (puse una fotito en mi twitter e instagram, ambos @nanysklozet)- pero no se preocupen que cuando esté lista, les hago un tour completo. Esto fue lo que me puse para pasar el día en IKEA y luego ir a comer con mis papás y unos tíos que están de visita. La gente se me quedó viendo medio raro por el accesorio, pero a mi me fascina- siento que lleva el outfit a otro nivel (especialmente cuando es algo tan casual/bohemio como esta falda larga y unas sandalias). Un abrazo inmenso!

Wear it backwards!

I've mentioned before how much I love tops with cute details on the back- but I have to wear my hair up in order to be visible. So this time I decided to wear the shirt backwards so it transforms into a cool neckline (it's like having two shirts in one). You should definitely try this, specially cardigans (wear them as shirts by buttoning them in the back), or V necks can turn into a cool back by wearing it backwards. The rest of the outfit is very simple; a white skirt, nude pumps, and a fun navy messenger bag (since I was just going out to eat with my family, I didn't use a clutch so it'll look a little more casual). Anteriormente les he dicho que me encanta cuando las camisas tienen un detalle en la espalda- pero, al tener el cabello tan largo, no se notaba para nada el detalle. Razón por la cual quise usarla al revés, es como tener dos camisas en una. Les recomiendo que lo intenten, usen cardigans al revés como camisas (los botoncitos atrás) o si una camisa en V, es más cuadrada por detrás quedas con un cuello cuadradito y un mini escote en la espalda. De resto lo combiné con básicos, una falda blanca de zara, zapatos nude, y una carterita tipo mensajero azul para que el look no se vieran tan elegante ya que solo iba a comer con mi familia. Disfruten el fin de semana ! Un abrazotote!

As I mentioned on the previous post, for us.. Valentine's day is every day (as cheesy as it might sound!). This year, Gaby had an important test the day before Valentine's and he spent it studying. Reason why as soon as he finished the test- which he passed, I'm so proud- he called me and told me to get ready because he wanted to go out and celebrate. So it was like a double celebration, and it's the best day to get candy, chocolate and teddy bears (everything is on sale!). We decided to take some pics together- we put a setting that takes 10 pics at a time, and I loved all of time! I hope you enjoy them too! XOXO

Como les dije en el outfit pasado, considero que el día de San Valentín es todos los días. Este año Gaby tenía un examen súper importante ayer (15 de Febrero), y me llamó emocionadísimo en la tarde para decirme que lo había pasado. Me vestí y decidimos salir a celebrarlo yendo a comer- fue como nuestra celebración de San Valentín un día atrasado- lo mejor es que todo está rebajado, es el mejor momento para comprar caramelos, chocolates, y peluches! This post should have been up a couple of hours earlier, but I had class all day,and a midterm at night! (yes, a pretty boring Valentine's day). However, if I'm totally honest... I don't believe in V-day, I think it's a holiday that society created to sell chocolates and flowers. Every day should be Valentine's day, I believe that you should tell your family/friends/significant other that you love them EVERY DAY. You shouldn't go out to dinner, or give a fancy gift because society tells you too... it should come from your heart and because you really want too. It should be the other way around.. we should have 364 days dedicated to love, and one day to fighting- I'm sure the world would be in a better place! But.. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you, because my days would be completely different without you! (how cheesy!). XOXO!

ps. I wanted to do a post with my boyfriend, but he has an important test tomorrow and he hasn't stopped studying! Wish him luck :) We'll definitely do one this weekend!

Se supone que este post debió haber salido unas horas antes, pero tenía clases tooodo el día y un examen! (que forma de pasar el día de San Valentín!). Pero siento totalmente sincera, no creo en este día- me parece que fue un día creado por la sociedad en el que "tenemos" que comprar chocolates y flores. Todos los días deberían ser día del amor y de la amistad, todos los días deberíamos de tener algún detalle con nuestra familia, amigos, y pareja, todos los días deberíamos decirles que los queremos... y darnos chocolates/flores debería ser por gusto, no por una fecha. Debería ser al contrario... 364 dedicados al amor, y uno a la guerra, el mundo estaría mucho mejor. Pero bueno, aprovecho la ocasión para decirles que las aprecio muchísimo- y que mis días no fuera iguales sin ustedes! (un poco cursi!). Un abrazo inmenso a todas!

pd: quería hacer un look con mi novio pero mañana tiene un examen MUY importante por su doctorado y no ha parado de estudiar (Deseenle suerte!!) Pero voy a convencerlo para hacer un post doble este fin.

As I've mentioned before- I was hoping for colder weather for a couple of weeks, and when I gave up and decided to take my summer wardrobe out...it gold a little chilly. I wore this outfit just the day after the temperatures dropped- which by the way it's getting warmer again, crazy Miami weather. Back to the point: since I was in "spring mode", I wanted to wear this striped tank (from Furor's new spring collection) and paired it with some classic summer/spring stables: white jeans and a fedora. In terms of accessories, I layered a couple of simple necklaces just for fun and added a bold gold cuff. This look is perfect to have brunch, run errands, bbq, casual gathering, shopping and more! Como les mencioné; después de semanas y semanas deseando que llegara un poquito de frío, me rendí.. y dije "listo, para mi ya llegó la primavera aunque estemos en febrero". Justo al día siguiente de usar este outfit llegaron unas temperaturas bajísimas- pero ya se están yendo, para este fin creo que va a hacer calorcito otra vez. Pero bueno volviendo al caso, en mi mentalidad de primavera decidí combinar esta camisa de rayitas de la nueva colección de Furor, con unos jeans blancos, varios collares delicados dorados, y una fedora. Este look casual es perfecto para ir a comer con tus amigas, pasear, ir de compras, etc (aparte que están plataformas son de las más cómodas que tengo). Last week I found these leopard jeans for $22 at Target- where I regularly go for groceries but I stepped into the clothing department trying to find something by Jason Wu (which was a total fail, the only thing left was a black skirt in XXL). Instead of pairing it with the predictable black shirt (which I will totally do soon), I decided to try an unexpected combo with denim. I know some of you might not like it, but it's fun to try different things once in a while! On Thursday, we went to a dog park beside my university with Chiki I hope you like the pics! La semana pasada encontré estos jeans en Target (a donde siempre voy es a comprar comida, pero pase por la parte de ropa porque tenía la esperanza de encontrar algo de Jason Wu- lo cual fue una misión fallida porque no quedaba absolutamente NADA). Pero bueno, encontré estos pantalones de leopardo por $22, y ni lo pensé. En vez de combinarlos con la típica camisa negra - cosa que pienso hacer para el próximo look, me arriesgué un poquito y decidí ponerme una camisa de denim. Se que a algunas no les gustara mucho el look, pero es bueno intentar algo inesperado de vez en cuando. Estas fotos las tomamos en un parque de perritos que queda al lado de mi universidad, estuvimos un ratote el jueves ahí con el chikitin- el cual quería jugar con TODOS los perros. This week went by incredibly fast! I feel like we needed more time to do this challenge- I have been waiting almost a month for a package from Romwe.com (which included the perfect metallic sweater for this challenge).. however, things happen and it didn't arrive on time. So this was my plan B, my amazing gold/metallic jeans from Mango (already worn with a black blazer and simple white tee, and with a black shirt and detachable gold collar). I wore this to go out with a couple of friends- I'm so excited because there's a cold front right now in Miami and I can't wait to wear something less summery tomorrow (I say only tomorrow because I know it's going to last like two days)! ¡Que rápido pasó esta semana! Siento que fue ayer que publicamos el reto de usar metálicos- llevo desde el mes pasado esperando un pedido que hice en Romwe (el cual incluía un suétercito metálico que hubiera sido perfecto).. pero que se va a hacer, no llegó a tiempo. Así que opté por mi plan B, estos jeans dorado metálico que han visto en dos ocasiones (la primera con un blazer negro y camisa blanca, y la segunda con una camisa blanca y un cuello dorado). Esto fue lo que utilicé para salir un ratito con unos amigos- les cuento que hoy bajó la temperatura muchísimo en Miami, estoy emocionada porque mañana puedo ponerme algo más abrigadito. I feel like I haven't taken pictures in so long- but Miami wasn't cooperating with me (it has been raining the whole week, so it's impossible to take pictures outside)- and when it's not raining, my amazing "photographer" is studying/working. It rained today until 5pm- so we ran outside to take advantage of the hours we had before sunset (can't wait for summer and its extremely long days). As I've mentioned before, this week was midterm week so I was studying and doing projects like crazy (I have a couple of fun projects that I'll definitely share here when they are ready- one is an ad campaign for evening wear, the second one is a store window, and the last one is creating a collection inspired by a TV show. Finally I wanted to ask you for a little advice- one of my brothers is getting married in a month and I need two dresses (both casual, nothing over-the-top). Siento que tenía siglos sin poner nada en el blog- pero los días han estado MUY muy lluviosos en Miami, lo que hace que sea imposible tomar fotos afuera. Hoy llovió como hasta las 5pm y aprovechamos que la hora que quedaba de sol (ya quiero que sea verano para que los días sean larguísimos y que el atardecer sea como a las 8-9pm). Como les dije, también he estado a millón- esta semana tuve dos exámenes y entregas de proyectos.. y la próxima tengo otros 2 exámenes más! Cuando estén listos les mostraré algunos trabajos- uno es la vitrina de una tienda, el otro es una campaña de publicidad para una línea de vestidos ficticia y la otra era "crear" una linea de productos inspirada en un show de TV. TambiénlLes quería contar que uno de mis hermanos se casa el mes que viene... y ando en la búsqueda de dos vestidos (uno para el civil y otro para la iglesia).
