Summer Fishng Patterns In Naples

We are now in our summer fishing patterns here in Naples. When we travel out deep sea fishing we know that several species of fish are available to us in the summer, including king mackerel, mangrove snapper, barracuda, Goliath grouper and most importantly red grouper.

There are several different methods we employ to catch red grouper but the main key is to get them biting. Grouper, like many other fish, can be pack feeders. When one eats, often times all the others, in the area feel like they have to eat as well. That is the reason you often catch red grouper so full you have to wonder where they would have stored your bait had they not been caught.

We have several different techniques to try and start a feeding frenzy with grouper. Sometimes soft baits or chum will get the small fish biting and draw the bigger fish. Grouper are also instinct feeders so jigs ripped off the bottom will also work on occasion.

There are other ways to fire up grouper but the main idea is to get them biting and then get ready for fast and furious action.

Snapper fishing in Naples FL

Fishing remains very good on our sportfishing charters out of Naples, Florida. The Grouper are biting very good and Mangove Snapper fishing has remained very solid all year. The king mackerel were very late arriving in Naples this season but the bite has been very good for the last couple of weeks. We are taking kings up to 30 pounds using Drone or Captain Action 5 1/2″ silver spoons or flat lining live baits back to the schools of fish. Fishing should remain very good as the permit and red grouper become more active.

Big Fishing Fun for Little Guys

Even the kids are enjoying the great charter fishing that has going on the past few weeks. As many folks are coming to Naples, Florida for their spring break or Easter vacation the kids have been catching their share! All of our fishing charters are “child friendly”, departing from the Port of Call Marina here in Naples. As of late we’ve seen outstanding catches of grouper, snapper, king mackerel, Spanish mackerel, cobia and sharks. The king mackerel are so abundant that we are catching limits while grouper fishing over reefs. The deep sea fishing should stay extremely good for the next month or more. We expect the permit to show up this week on the offshore ledges and wrecks.

Grouper fishing tends to be slower in the colder months than when the Gulf of Mexico waters warm up. When our fishing charters out of Naples go out in search of grouper we try and give ourselves the best chance to be successful. No matter what you might think there is no guaranteed, sure fire way to be a successful grouper fisherman, other than determination.When we are charter fishing we always try several different types of baits to offer the best chances of success. Our sportfishing parties will often be fishing with live bait, jigs and cut bait all at the same time. Often times one bait will trigger a feeding frenzy for some unknown reason. Because of that we are always experimenting to find the magic bait for each particular day. Grouper fishing in Naples is good and outfitted properly is great.

Today we officially commenced our complete spring fishing patterns. King Mackerel have suddenly appeared on all of the offshore hangouts and several Cobia have also been seen with them. The deep sea fishing in Naples is as good as it gets right now. Spring Break Fishing

Spring break is in full swing here in Naples, Florida. Families are taking their spring breakers out on deep sea fishing charters for the sun, calm seas and great fishing. Our charters went out into the gulf of Mexico today and returned with nice catches of Mangrove Snapper and Gag Grouper. We also caught a few Spanish Mackerel and one nice Mutton Snapper. Many of our clients are having us clean their catches and then taking the fish to Kelly’s Fish House to have it prepared for their evening meal. If you have never had fish prepared the day it was caught then you have never eaten fresh fish. Come take a fishing charter with us you are certain to catch dinner then you can always tell the difference between fresh and less than fresh fish.

Now that spring has finally arrived, and temperatures in Naples are in the 80s, our fishing charters into the Gulf of Mexico are reaping the benefits. Limits of Mangrove Snapper are still being caught along with lots of Gag Grouper. Charter fishing parties fishing out of Naples are also finding Spanish Mackerel showing up along with loads of medium size amberjack. The AJs are suckers for big white jigs that are dropped down to them. The Spanish can be caught with small spoons or live pilchards. Fishing will continue to improve as we move deeper into spring.

Variety of Fish Species in Naples

Most sport fishing parties we take out are hoping to catch Red, Gag and Black Grouper or Mangrove Snapper. While we catch our fair share of Grouper and Snapper there is also a wide variety of other fish to target and catch. For eating, Porgies and Silver Snapper are every bit as good as Mangrove Snapper and easily caught on just about every charter. We also will be catching Permit, Cobia, Barracuda and Goliath Grouper on the offshore wrecks and ledges as the waters of the Gulf of Mexico continue to warm. Warm waters also bring the annual migration of Spanish and King Mackerel through our area. These fish will appear shortly and be caught on just about every conceivable bait. They are always hungry and ready to feed. Nowhere in the the United States is a wider variety of both sport and table fare for your seafood recipes as readily available as here in Naples and Marco Island, Florida.

Naples FL – Spring Break Fishing!

Daylight savings time signals the beginning of spring and spring break for a host of students. Many of which are coming to Naples for the great charter fishing as well as fantastic beaches and nightlife. Fishing charters going out on the Alabama right now are finding the fishing to be red hot for mangrove snappers, gag grouper and amberjack. We are catching lots of nice sized grouper but, the season is closed until April 1, so we are having to release them right now. They are being trained in how to take a bait so that when the grouper season opens next week the fishing should be unbelievable.
