This relaxed and friendly two-hour session is suitable for all abilities. You’ll be guided to create your own pretty felt flowers and leaves using simple techniques. You’ll then arrange and attach your handmade florals to your basket, ready to fill with goodies!

What We’ll Be Making

This will be a relaxed, friendly evening where you’ll learn how to create beautiful felt flowers and leaves using simple slow-stitch techniques—suitable for all abilities. Whether you sew regularly or have never picked up a needle before, Pam will guide you through each step with patience, encouragement, and plenty of expert tips.

You’ll then attach your handmade flowers and leaves to a bamboo woven basket (which is included in the price of the workshop!) creating something truly personal and one-of-a-kind.

Meet Pamela Goddard – A Wonderfully Talented Local Maker

This workshop is led by someone very special—our good friend Pamela Goddard of Cherry Bank Studio. Pam isn’t just talented, she’s an incredibly warm and generous person, and we know you’re going to love her.

Pam has been a qualified teacher for over 10 years, helping hundreds of people to discover the joy of creativity. Before that, she spent a decade working as a fashion designer for some very well-known brands—so she brings a wonderful mix of expertise, creativity, and a love of beautiful details. Supporting the Community with "Light Up Narborough"

This Small Business Saturday coincides with Connecting Narborough’s "Light Up Narborough" event, where the entire village comes together to celebrate the festive season. We’re thrilled to host "Swing Into Christmas with Gareth John," a live performance at Narborough Hall featuring festive classics. To spread extra holiday cheer, we’ll be serving free mince pies and mulled wine, and giving away our specially designed neighbour Christmas cards to encourage connection and reduce loneliness in our community.

We’re also acting as Headquarters for the village-wide Elf Trail. We’ve provided posters for all the shops, elf signs to spot, collection cards, free gifts for every entry posted into our magical postbox and a grand prize for one lucky winner at the end! 

This event shines a spotlight on all the wonderful local businesses in Narborough, including cafes, pubs, and micro businesses with pop-up stalls. Together, we’re building a stronger, brighter community.

Since our start, over 30 years ago, we’ve been supporters of countless small businesses and start-ups. Many of them have gone on to be incredibly successful and its a privilege to have been able to help them, even in just a small way, along that journey. Lots of those have been very local to us based here in Leicestershire, two of our fave greeting card suppliers, Laura Darrington Design and Molly Mae, started up right on our doorstep (in Narborough and Cosby respectively) and we’re still stocking them to this day!

At More Than Just a Gift at Narborough Hall, we’re passionate about supporting our local community. So we’re especially happy to be involved in Connecting Narborough’s "Light Up Narborough" event, a festive celebration that brings the entire community together. As a proud founding member of Connecting Narborough, I’ve been busy in the background helping to bring this vision to life, from designing and printing the posters and Elf Trail to brainstorming ideas to make this occasion super-special. After the success of last year’s event, we’re building on it the make the occasion bigger and better this time around, with more local businesses involved and more local people enjoying the activities. Here’s how we’re shining a light on Narborough this Christmas season.

Lighting Up the Village Together

Local community group Connecting Narborough is inviting everyone—residents and businesses alike—to illuminate our village in festive cheer. The event is packed with activities and opportunities to explore everything our vibrant village has to offer. Whether it’s participating in the Elf Trail, admiring the Christmas Tree Festival, or simply enjoying a cosy drink at one of the cafes or a meal at the pub, there’s something for everyone.

Here’s what’s happening:

• Bring your lanterns or torches, wear your bright clothes, and visit the village.

• Elf Trail: Find 12 mischievous elves hidden around the village and win prizes! Pick up your search card from Narborough Hall, Dales Café, or The Coffee Club.

• Christmas Tree Festival at All Saints Church: Open until 4pm, this stunning display of 40 decorated trees will warm your heart. Don’t forget to vote for your favorite!

• Bazaar and Colouring Competition: Head to the library from 2.30pm to 4.30pm for festive fun.

They hopped halfway across the world from Australia to Birmingham, we made the slightly less taxing trip from Leicester to the NEC to view all their latest launches at the Autumn Fair.
