Kay was not able to make it into the studio during the first 2 wks of birth but we still tried to catch some great sleepy images when her son was a bit older. I think you would agree he is adorale!

Patricia came to my studio for a maternity session. We did some environmental shots, some classic shots and some silhouette shots; and Patricia is gorgeous in all of them. I just heard that she had her twins very recently! How exciting!

Nae came to the studio the other day for a maternity shoot of her second pregnancy. She certainly brought a bit of glam to the day! It was lovely working with her — we went for a very classic, artistic look and I think the photos turned out great.

Black and White beauty

If you have not had enough of this sweet darling little girl then good! I have just one more image as an example! I know lots of people would think there must be just a button to change images from colour to B&W. When you don’t know the basis behind how certain colours have different levels of contrast and and depth within greyscale you find yourself muddling along making quite flat B&W images. The ability to understand how each colour value changes and knowing the tools to manipulate them in photoshop allows you to go from dull muted greyscale to “WOW” contrast, depth and rich tones! Having an understanding of traditional B&W printing really made the transition into the digital development world so much more exciting! And I have taken all the methods I used to use in the darkroom into my digital darkroom now!

Annabelle & Corinne

Annabelle is such a sweetheart! Her smile lit up the whole studio that day. She and mom just had fun in front of the camera. I’m playing with a new set up of sorts. Lots of people keep contacting me asking if I take pictures in the home. Sadly I do not, but for good reason! For one, lugging all my props and blankets and tools is just not realistic and would be a mess! Most importantly though is the lighting. Not everyones home is set up with beautifully filling light as my studio is. I have worked very hard at creating the best available natural light that produces that soft dreamy feel I like in my images. That can not always be created in everyone’s home.

Having said that, I do understand how people are drawn to those “natural” in the moment “environmental” portraits. I plan on developing this new studio bed set up to create a more bedroom feel giving my clients more diversity in their final products. Hope you enjoy this session!

J’ai eu la chance de prendre en photo la grossesse de Monica, ainsi que les premiers jours de sa douce petite. Regardez le petit visage dans la deuxième photo! Par chance que ma camera prête à capturer ce joli visage trop mignon.
