The Intruders: I'll Always Love My Mama

I'll always love my Mama
She's my favorite girl
I'll always love my Mama
She brought me in this world

Sometimes I feel so bad
When I think of all the things I used to do
How Mama used to clean somebody else's house
Just to buy me a new pair of shoes

I never understood

How Mama made it through the week

When she never ever got

A good night's sleep

Talking 'bout Mama

I'll always love my Mama

She's my favorite girl

I'll always love my Mama

She brought me in this world

A mother's love is so special

It's something that you can't describe

It's the kind of love that stays with you

Until the day you die

She's taught me little things

Like say, "Hello and Thank you, please"

While scrubbing those floors

Tyler Perry's Madea's Big Happy Family

FUNNY

Hilarious

LoL

I only have one thing to say about this movie,

"By-Raaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnn".

If you want to laugh, this is the film to go and see.

It's the same old Tyler Perry story line, but definitely a good laugh.

Laughter is the best medicine

Aunties

2011-04-24T08:31:00.000-07:00

What is an Auntie?

(Your mother's or father's sister - or who ever you want her to be)

If one of the following ladies were your auntie - what do you think she would say to you?

We all love Phylicia Rashad! What would Auntie Phylicia have to say?

What if Oprah Winfrey was your Auntie! Wow, what words of wisdom would she have for you?

Michelle Obama - what would Auntie Michelle talk with you about?

What would Auntie Halle say?

How about Auntie Mo'Nique - You know she will keep it real with you.

Whether it's one of the ladies above, or a neighbor, or a teacher, or a sister, or any woman that's not your mom, but loves you like one - then that's your auntie.

Seek her out and talk to her.

I bet she'll always have some good advise.

We Are Family

2011-04-24T07:48:00.000-07:00

Sister Sledge

(CHORUS:)
We are family
I got all my sisters with me
We are family
Get up ev'rybody and sing

Ev'ryone can see we're together
As we walk on by
(FLY!) and we fly just like birds of a feather
I won't tell no lie
(ALL!) all of the people around us they say
Can they be that close
Just let me state for the record
We're giving love in a family dose

(CHORUS x2)

Living life is fun and we've just begun
To get our share of the world's delights
(HIGH!) high hopes we have for the future
And our goal's in sight
(WE!) no we don't get depressed
Here's what we call our golden rule
Have faith in you and the things you do
You won't go wrong
This is our family Jewel

(REPEAT CHORUS TO FADE)

Federal Government Shut Down

2011-04-10T08:17:00.000-07:00

Governments all over the world are going crazy and the United States' government is no different.

Government Shutdown 2011

April 11, 2011, could have been the first day of an American, Government, shut down. That means that a lot of government working Americans would have gone unpaid to allow politicians 'more' time to decide on how to spend America's money.

Now let me ask - why would America have to shut down the government to figure out how to spend some money? Makes no sense to me.

Tell me what you & your family spend money on?
Tell me if you & your family would stop getting food, gas, water, clothing, etc. until it is figured out?

F.A.M.E by Chris Brown

Chirs Brown's new album

Chris Breezy has a new album out called FAME. I haven't heard ALL of the songs yet, but I heard one that I like - Look At Me Now - it's pretty good. I like it.

Unfortunately, there is an energy out there following Breezy around trying to turn him into a very angry person. The key to life is to not let people push your buttons. I pray that Chris can do it because I enjoy seeing him perform.

What are some of the ways that people push your button?

How can you not get angry?

The Lord's Prayer

2011-03-27T08:17:00.000-07:00

Sometimes, all you need is a little prayer to get you through the day...if you don't have one, you can use the one that I use, sung by Loretta Devine.

The prayer as it occurs in Matthew 6:9–13

"Our Father in art in heaven,

hallowed be your name.

Thy kingdom come,

thy will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our debts,

as we also have forgiven our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, and the power

And the Glory, forever."

THE MESSAGE

It's like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder
How I keep from going under
It's like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder
How I keep from going under

Broken glass everywhere
People pissing on the stairs, you know they just don't care
I can't take the smell, I can't take the noise
Got no money to move out, I guess I got no choice
Rats in the front room, roaches in the back
Junkies in the alley with the baseball bat
I tried to get away, but I couldn't get far
Cause a man with a tow-truck repossessed my car

Chorus:
Don't push me cause I'm close to the edge
I'm trying not to lose my head, ah huh-huh-huh
[2nd and 5th: ah huh-huh-huh]
[4th: say what?]
It's like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder
How I keep from going under
It's like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder
How I keep from going under

Standing on the front stoop, hangin' out the window
Watching all the cars go by, roaring as the breezes blow
Crazy lady livin' in a bag
Eating out of garbage pails, used to be a fag-hag
Said she danced the tango, skipped the light fandango
The Zircon Princess seemed to lost her senses
Down at the peepshow, watching all the creeps
So she can tell the stories to the girls back home
She went to the city and got social security
She had to get a pimp, she couldn't make it on her own

[2nd Chorus]
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/g/grandmaster_flash/the_message.html ]
My brother's doing bad on my mother's TV
She says: "You watch it too much, it's just not healthy!"
"All My Children" in the daytime, "Dallas" at night
Can't even see the game or the Sugar Ray fight
The bill collectors they ring my phone
And scare my wife when I'm not home
Got a bum education, double-digit inflation
I can't take the train to the job, there's a strike at the station
Neon King Kong standin' on my back
Can't stop to turn around, broke my sacrophiliac
A mid-ranged migraine, cancered membrane
Sometimes I think I'm going insane, I swear I might hijack a plane

My son said: "Daddy I don't wonna go to school
Cause the teacher's a jerk!", he must think I'm a fool
And all the kids smoke reefer, I think it'd be cheaper
If I just got a job, learned to be a street sweeper
I'll dance to the beat, shuffle my feet
Wear a shirt and tie and run with the creeps
Cause it's all about money, ain't a damn thing funny
You got to have a con in this land of milk and honey
They pushed that girl in front of the train
Took her to the doctor, sewed her arm on again
Stabbed that man right in his heart
Gave him a transplant for a brand new start
I can't walk through the park, cause it's crazy after dark
Keep my hand on my gun, cause they got me on the run
I feel like a outlaw, broke my last glass jar
Hear them say: "You want some more livin' on a seesaw?"

[4th Chorus]

A child is born with no state of mind
Blind to the ways of mankind
God is smiling on you but he's frowning too
Because only God knows what you'll go through
You'll grow in the ghetto, living second rate
And your eyes will sing a song of deep hate
The places you're playin', where you stay
Looks like one great big alley way
You'll admire all the number book takers
Thugs, pimps, pushers and the big money makers
Driving big cars, spending twenties and tens
And you wanna grow up to be just like them, huh,
Smugglers, scrambles, burglars, gamblers
Pickpockets, peddlers even panhandlers
You say: "I'm cool, I'm no fool!"
But then you wind up dropping out of high school
Now you're unemployed, all non-void
Walking 'round like you're Pretty Boy Floyd
Turned stickup kid, look what you've done did
Got sent up for a eight year bid
Now your manhood is took and you're a may tag
Spend the next two years as a undercover fag
Being used and abused to serve like hell
Till one day you was found hung dead in a cell
It was plain to see that your life was lost
You was cold and your body swung back and forth
But now your eyes sing the sad, sad song
Of how you lived so fast and died so young

Don't push me 'cause I'm close to the edge
I'm trying not to lose my head
It's like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder how I keep from going under
It's like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder how I keep from going under

Yo Mell, you see that girl there?
Yo, that sounded like Cowboy man
Cool
Yo, what's up Money?
Yo, where's Cooly an Raheim?
They is downstairs coooling out
So what's up for tonight y'all?
We could go down to Phoenix
We could go check out "Junebug" man
Hey yo, you know that girl Betty?
Yeah man
Come on, come all man
Not like it
That's what I heard man
What's this happening, what's this?
What's goin' on?
Freeze
Don't nobody move or nothin'
Y'all know what this is (What's happend?)
Get 'em up, get 'em up (What?)
Oh man, we're (Right in there) Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five
What is that, a gang?
No
Shut up
I don't wanna hear your mouth
Shut up
Officer, officer, what is the problem?
You the problem
Hey, you ain't gotta push me man
Get in the car, get in the car
Get in the god...
I said, "Get in the car"
Why is he?

YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A STAR
Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr.

You can come as you are with just your heart
And I'll take you in, you're rejected and hurt,
To me you're worth, girl, what you have within, oh honey.

I don't need no superstar cause I'll accept you as you are.

You won't be denied cause I'm satisfied with the love that you can inspire.

You don't have to be a star, baby, to be in my show.

Somebody, nobody, knows could steal the tune that you want to hear,
So stop your running around cause now you've found what was cloudy is clear. Oh honey.

There'll be no cheering from the clouds, just two hearts beating out loud.

There'll be no parade, no tv or stage, only me till your dying day.

You don't have to be a star, baby, to be in my show;
Oh, honey, you don't have to be a star, baby, to be in my show.

Don't think your star has to shine for me to find out where you're coming
from; what is a beauty queen if it don't mean that I'm number one?

I don't need no superstar cause I'll accept you as you are.
You won't be denied cause I'm satisfied with the love that you inspire.

You don't have to be a star, baby, to be in my show;
Oh, honey, you don't have to be a star, baby, to be in my show.

Justin Bieber movie

2011-02-27T07:40:00.000-08:00

This young man is so cute - I pray for him!

He has the heart and voice of an angel, I pray that demons stay away from him.

I saw his movie and he 'appears' to be very genuine!

He has a lot of people who, I would have to say, support him. There were people in the movie like, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Miley Sirus, Usher, and others.

He has a good sound, can dance, and a happy heart.

Heaven stay in his corner!

2Thumbs up - I like the Bieb!

Prince - a concert review

2011-02-27T07:18:00.000-08:00

PRINCE!!!

I have to say I love this guy! His concert was awesome.

I treated my mother to the Prince concert because back in the day she was a die heart fan! Because of it, I know most all of Prince's old school songs.

Back in the day I thought he was a little weird (sometimes) but I went to his concert and I 'really' like Prince. Nice to see how he's matured :).

Of course he has to be in his 50s so he wasn't jumping off of tall speakers and riding in on motorcycles, etc., but he still sounded like the good ole Prince. Even my mother was up dancing - with her bad foot.

He did everything from Purple Rain to Controversy.

Nice clean show - awesome stage - cool back up singers - Ms. Sheila E (you go girl!) - and a tight band (as usual)!

2 Thumbs UP!

So that's it. Get your sexy on without displaying sex!

Lift Every Voice and Sing

2011-02-27T06:48:00.000-08:00

IN HONOR OF BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Lift every voice and sing,

'Til earth and heaven ring,

Ring with the harmonies of Liberty;

Let our rejoicing rise

High as the listening skies,

Let it resound loud as the rolling sea.

Sing a song full of the faith that the dark past has taught us,

Sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us;

Facing the rising sun of our new day begun,

Let us march on 'til victory is won.

Stony the road we trod,

Bitter the chast'ning rod,

Felt in the days when hope unborn had died;

Yet with a steady beat,

Have not our weary feet

Come to the place for which our fathers sighed?

We have come over a way that with tears has been watered,

We have come, treading our path through the blood of the slaughtered,

Out from the gloomy past,

'Til now we stand at last

Where the white gleam of our bright star is cast.

God of our weary years,

God of our silent tears,

Thou who has brought us thus far on the way;

Thou who has by Thy might

Led us into the light,

Keep us forever in the path, we pray.

Lest our feet stray from the places, our God, where we met Thee,

Lest, our hearts drunk with the wine of the world, we forget Thee;

Shadowed beneath Thy hand,

May we forever stand,

True to our God,

True to our native land.

In the beginning God made man

2011-02-20T08:54:00.000-08:00

In the beginning of the bible, it states that God made man - and out of man he made woman.

I believe God made a man to be loving and caring and kind and considerate. A man is an easy thing to love.

But, today's blog is about men who are not being the above stated things.

I'm not here to diss men - but rather speak on the men who are not being the things that God intended them to be.

A man not being a man, is like a rose, not being a rose.

A man not being a man, is like the sun, not being the sun.

A man not being a man, is like 'love' not understanding how it works. Love brings growth - hate brings death.

Of course things in the world have protective devises:

A rose has thorns, to protect itself.

The sun can burn you, to protect itself.

At times love must be blind, to protect itself.

But a rose does not set out to intentionally prick you. The sun does not set out to intentionally burn you. Love does not set out to intentionally make you look stupid.

Hurt happens when you aren't being careful. When you get pricked, you don't kill the rose. When you get burned, you don't shoot the sun. Therefore, when you get hurt by love you don't kill the messenger.

The topics of my blog today deal with men (who are not being loving, caring, kind and considerate - what God intended them to be). But rather, they are men who want to kill the messenger. My topics today deal with Domestic Violence.

Domestic Violence must stop! Please help me spread the word.
