I have completed playing through the Lego Harry Potter Year 5-7 DS game, at points I tried to find a full walkthrough for the DS version of the game but was unable to find anything. So in order to give something back to the Nintendo DS world, I’ve decided to create my own walkthrough as I re-play the game.

Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 Walkthrough for Nindendo DS and 3DS

Year 7 – Part 2 – Chapter 2

The Chamber of Secrets

You’ll find yourself in the chamber of secrets where your aim is to find the basilisks fang.

Be careful, try not fall in the green acidic water and make your to the right of the screen.

Shoot the large pink dome to reveal a Herminoe bag spot. Use the bag spot by switching your character to Herminoe and press the A button to activate the bag spot. Using the directional key pad rotate around the directional button to find a a pile of gold Lego bricks.

Use the ‘Windardium Leviosa (WL)’ spell on the bricks to create a transportation ring, stand in the centre of the ring and press and hold the A button to use the ring.

Use the ‘WL’ spell on the snake heads to the right and left of the platform to expose the fangs. Head through the archway in the middle of the platform and press the A button to pull the leaver and head back through the transportation ring.

(Red Brick) – Jump over the newly positioned stepping stone platforms to the right and use the ‘Lumos’ spell on the devils snare from the second platform. Then use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the gate and jump through the gap.

Switch your character to Ron and press the A button to use the parseltongue cabinate; this will produce a pile of Lego bricks and the … red brick.

Head back across the stepping stones to central walkway and use the ‘WL’ spell on the pile of bricks to make a a bridge.

(Wizards Hat) – Before heading over the bridge pick up a pair of spectraspecs from the quibbler dispenser and then make your way over the bridge. To the left of bridge end you’ll see a bunch of semi-transparent bricks, slowly edge towards them and you’ll begin to see them properly and will be able to use the ‘Reducto’ spell on them.

Jump on the first of the stepping stone platforms and use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the crate situated on the second platform to earn yourself a Wizards Hat.

Use the ‘WL’ spell on the snake head to the left of the platform to reveal the fangs and then head to the leaver and press the A button to reveal the next set of stepping stone platforms.

Make your way back to the central walkway and switch your character to Hermione and use the ‘Pet’ ability on the pet dig spot by pressing and holding the Y button to reveal a Herminoe bag spot.

Switch back to Herminoe from the pet and press the A button to use the bag spot as described above to find a paint brush. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the paint brush to paint the rest of the Weasley walkway.

Make your way over the stepping stone platforms to the Weasley walkway. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the snake heads to the left and right of the platform to reveal the snakes fangs.

(Bill Weasley Character Token) – Use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the gate to the right of the Weasley walkway and then use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the crate behind the ‘Weasley Wizard Wheeze Box (WWWB)’ to gain the Bill Weasley character token.

Use the ‘WL’ spell on the ‘WWWB’ to move it into position and switch your character to Ron. Press the A button to open the ‘WWWB’ and retrieve a pair of Weasley sucker pad shoes and make your way up and across the Weasley walkway.

(Wizards Hat) - At the end of the walkway drop down onto the platform below and use the ‘WL’ spell on the snake head to right of the platform to reveal a box on the central platform. (see P2 for how to retrieve the wizards hat.

Then use the ‘Deluminator’ spell pressing the A button to gain the light from the lamp and place the light in the lamp above the door way; this will drop down a large black rock. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the rock to place it on the pressure pad to the right of the platform. Now stand on the pressure pad to the left of the platform to raise the gate.

Stand on the third pressure pad which is situated through the gate to raise the final stepping stone platform. Press the A button to use the parseltongue cabinate to release a couple of Lego pieces. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the pieces to create a drill, then use the ‘WL’ spell on the drill to break up the large rock.

P2 (Wizards Hat) – Make your way back to the start of the area where the crate appeared from below the platform, use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the crate to gain a Wizards Hat. 

Head to the far right of the area where you’ll see a skeleton basilisk head, use the ‘WL’ spell on the head to open the mouth and then use the ‘WL’ spell on the tooth.

Stand on the blue platform and press the A button to continue to the Room of Requirement.

Make your way to the right of the area and you’ll come across a fiery snake, use the ‘Aguamenti’ spell on the water canister before the snake and then use the ‘WL’ spell on the water bolder to move the snake.

Use the ‘Aguamenti’ spell on the flames and jump over the gap. Make your way around to the next gap and use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the light fitting. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the pieces left behind to create a bridge and make your way over it.

Use the ‘Aguamenti’ spell on the flames to extinguish them and continue across to the left. Use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the cabinate unit to reveal a couple of Lego pieces and use the ‘WL’ spell to make a Herminoe bag spot.

Switch your character to Herminoe and use the bag spot by pressing the A button to find a pile of Lego bricks. Then use the ‘WL’ spell on the pieces to build a ladder and climb up it.

Use the ‘Aguamenti’ spell on the flames across the gap (these are difficult to see from the other side of the gap) and jump over the gap. Shoot the bookcase and continue along to the right.

Use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the pad lock and then use the ‘Diffinfo’ spell on the red wall to produce a pile of red Lego bricks. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the bricks to make a fan, jump on the fan to get up onto the platform above and the snake will break up the wardrobe.

Use the ‘WL’ spell on the pieces left from the wardrobe and use the ‘Aguamenti’ spell on the water cannon to make it spray the snake. Head to the left of the platform and the snake will break up the box, use the ‘WL’ spell on the water cannon left from the box and use the ‘Aguamenti’ spell to spray and defeat the snake.

You will now find yourself in a fiery room with many platforms.

Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 Walkthrough for Nindendo DS and 3DS

Year 7 – Part 2 – Chapter 1

Gringotts Break-In

You’ll find yourself in Gringotts, standing in front of a dragon. The dragon will not hurt you unless you attempt to go through the door, before you can go through the door you need to do the following.

To the left of the room you’ll see a few items on the floor, stand on the brown pad to the left to reveal some items for the bike. Place the items near the bike and then use the ‘Wingardium Leviosa (WL)’ spell on the bike items to built the bike. Mount the bike and while pressing the Y button head towards the dragon to reveal a path of studs and continue towards the door while still pressing the Y button then jump through the door.

To the left of the room, use the ‘WL’ spell on the chest and then use the ‘WL’ spell on the Lego pieces which came from the chest to create a Quibbler Dispenser. Collect a pair of spectraspecs and head to cabinate to the middle-right of the room. Shoot the cabinate and use the ‘WL’ on the scroll that is left behind.

(Invincibility Red Brick) – Use the ‘Reducto’ spell on all eight silver status around the room and the Invincibility Red Brick will appear in the middle of the room.

(Alecto Carrow Character) – At the back-left of the room you’ll see a snake with a fiery cage underneath. Use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the cage and then use the ‘Aguamenti’ spell on the flames.

Switch your character to Hermione and use the bag spot which has been revealed from the fire; this will cause a book to appear. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the book to make the snake sneeze and give you a cog. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the cog to place it on behind the chest and then use the ‘WL’ spell on the cog again.

Switch your character to Bogrod to use the ‘Key’ ability on the light post to lower the light and gain the Alecto Carrow Character token.

The room will fill up with fiery goblets, watch these are they will kill you.

Switch your character to Ron and use the ‘Deluminator’ ability to get the light from the lamp.

(Bogrod Character and Wizards Hat) – Jump your way to the top of the goblet pile, try not to fall in as you will have to start again and you’ll lose studs. At the top use the ‘Deluminator’ spell at place the light on the unlit lamp; this will give you the Bogrod Character token and a Wizards Hat.

Head of the way you came in and go to the right of the dragon. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the items on the floor and then use the ‘WL’ spell on the chains to release the chains on the dragon. Head round the other side of the dragon (I suggest going around the front of the dragon) and head to the far left of the room.

Switch your character to Bogrod and use the ‘Key’ ability to lower the lit lamp, then switch to Ron and use the ‘Deluminator’ ability to get the light.

Switch back to Bogrod and use the ‘Key’ ability again to lower the other light, switch back to Ron and light the other light with the ‘Deluminator’ ability. Switch back to Bogrod and use the ‘Key ability one more time to raise the light again; this will release the chains from the devils snare.

Switch to another character and use the ‘WL’ spell on the on the chains to release the dragon.

Hogsmead

The aim to this level is to defeat all of the death eaters without being spotted.

Head up the path and use the ‘WL’ spell on the white bricks on the floor to fix the rocket sledge. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the leaver of the sledge to fire the sledge up the hill which will defeat the death eater.

Head up the path and watch out of the death eater, head into the shelter and hide behind the sheet (stand on the gold ring for the leaver). When the death eater comes round press the A button to pull the leaver when the death eater turns around to walk over the grid. When the death eater falls down the grid you will have defeated it.

Make your way up to the far right of the path and you’ll see the sledge which has crashed. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the sledge to defeat the third death eater, which will open the gate.

Make your way up the path destroying everything for studs.

(Aberfort Dumbledore Character) – Half way up you’ll see a snowman, shoot the snowman to gain the Dumbledore Character token.

(Wizards Hat) – Shoot all 5 of the Harry Potter wanted posters to reveal a wizards hat, use the ‘WL’ spell on the barrel to place it on the wagon, use the wagon and barrel to jump up to the platform to gain the Wizards Hat.

(Emalima Vance Character) – Head to the far right of the area and use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the far right coal store to gain the Emalima Vance Character token.

Use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the far left coal store to real the key for the gate, pick up the key and head to the gate. Now you’ll have to defeat several death eater before you can use the key and exit through the gate.

Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 Walkthrough for Nindendo DS and 3DS

Year 7 – Part 1 – Chapter 2

Forest of Dean Lake

This chapter is performed under water, the controls are a bit strange but you will get used to it by the end of the level. The idea is that you are under the ice of the lake, and you are looking for the sword.

As you make your way around the level you will run out of air so you need to use the bubbles to fill up your air-o-meter.

Controls while swimming:

• A Button = Down
• B Button = Up
• Y Button = Target

Go down to the black and red spiky devils snare and stand on the floor to use spells. Use the ‘Lumos’ spell on the devils snare to reveal a shopping trolley and use the ‘Wingardium Leviosa (WL)’ spell on the shopping trolley to place it on the ice. Across the ice you’ll see a chest in the rock, use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the silver rock around the chest; this will drop the chest. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the chest to place it in the shopping trolley and wait for it to break through the ice.

Head down through the hole in the ice, and head to the let.

(…) – (Free Play Mode) Use the ‘Lumos’ spell on the devils snare to the top left  (you’ll need to aim to stand where the bubbles are so you don’t get hurt by the devils snare) and then use a dark magic character to break off the padlock and gain the …

(Wizards Hat) – Swim down the bottom and you’ll see a huge crab to your right, you can’t get past the crab at this point to get the Wizards Hat. Go up to the platform above and stand as close to the edge as possible. Use the ‘WL’ spell on what looks like an arrow (Its supposed to be an umbrella) to stop the mermaid attacking you. 

Use the ‘Lumos’ spell on the devils snare to release the crab food, shoot the food can to open it and shoot it again to knock it over which will attract the crab.

Now go back to the Wizards Hat.

(Mundungus Fletcher Character) – Make your way through the area until you get to the devils snare. Before you do anything with it, swim up and slightly left and you’ll see the Mundungus Fletcher Character token.

Use the ‘Lumos’ spell on the devils snare to reveal the sword and a path of studs leading to a platform to the top-right.

(Peter Pettigrew Character) – Land of the ledge by the brown wagon. You’ll see a block of ice with a character token behind it. Use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the ice to break it up and collect the Peter Pettigrew Character token.

Use the ‘Ruducto’ spell on the padlock on the brown wagon to drop down a couple of barrels. Follow the barrels down the floor and shoot both of them to reveal a pick and hammer. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the pick and hammer to get the sword and pick up the sword to continue.

Now you’ll find yourself back in the woods.

(Third Brother Character) – Switch your character to Harry and head to the yellow ring to the left. Use the A button while standing in the middle to transport yourself to the other yellow ring. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the tree branch and jump on the branch to reach the Third Brother Character token above.

Jump on the platform above and use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the rocks to drop the black down to the other side and head back through the yellow ring.

Use the ‘WL’ spell on the black rock to place it on the pressure platform which will start to reveal a Parseltongue cabinate.

(Dobby Character) – To the far right of the area, you’ll see a red wall. Use the ‘Deffindo’ spell on the wall to gain the Dobby Character token and reveal a Quibbler Dispenser.

Collect a pair of Spectraspecs and head to the second pressure platform, next to it you’ll see a second black rock. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the rock to put it on the platform and raise the parseltongue cabinate. Use the cabinate to activate the horcrux.

Now you need to defeat the horcrux, this took me ages to figure out what to do.

Basically, when the head comes down to the ground and stops firing at you, using Ron and the sword, stand in front of the face and press the Y button, it took me a while to get into the right place and you need to be quick. Once you’ve managed to do this once, you’ll need to switch your character to Harry  and shoot the spiders. As soon as both spiders have been destroyed switch to Ron and use the sword on the face again (you need to repeat this 3 times).

Malfoy Manor

Once you have defeated the horcrux you’ll watch a cut scene and go to the next area where you’ll be entered into a duel.

Win both duels to finish the chapter.

Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 Walkthrough for Nindendo DS and 3DS

Year 7 – Part 1 – Chapter 1

The Wedding

You are at a wedding, in a marquee that is on fire.

Switch your character to Ron (Suit) and use the ‘Weasley Wizard Wheeze Box (WWWB)’ to break up the piñata which will drop some Lego bricks. Use the ‘Wingardium Leviosa (WL)’ spell on the bricks to create a transportation ring. Stand in the ring and press and hold the A button.

(Wizards Hat) – Use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the balloon to release it (there are 5 of these scattered about the marquee, release them all the get a Wizards Hat)

(…) – (Free Play Mode) Dark magic character ….

Go back through the transportation ring.

Use the ‘Reducto’ spell the flower to destroy the flower, leaving the plant pot. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the plant pot to put out the fire.

Use the ‘Deluminator’ spell on the two lamps to move the light to the unlit lamps; this will melt the ice sculpture. A Hermione bag spot will be left behind when the ice has melted. Switch your character to Hermione to use the bag spot to get a fire extinguisher, the extinguisher to put out the next bit of fire.

(Free Play Mode) – Spectraspecs …

Note: For the fifth balloon, head to the bottom-right of the screen and you’ll see a barrel with orange handles, next to it you’ll see the fifth balloon to release.

(Free Play Mode) Strength Character …

Use the ‘WL’ spell on the items on the floor in front of the table to place them on the table. This will uncover a blue exit platform, use it to continue.

Godric’s Hollow

You’ll now find yourself in a winter wonderland.

Head to the doorway and collect a pair spectraspecs from the Quibbler Dispenser. Go to the left of the area and use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the padlock on the gate.

(Wizards Hat) – Make your way to the left of the water feature where you’ll see a pile of Lego bricks, use the ‘WL’ spell on the bricks to fix the water feature and you’ll get a Wizards Hat.

(Free Play Mode) – Switch to Ron,

Use the ‘WL’ spell on the snow covered grave to the right of the gate. There are five graves in total which all require different actions.

(Second Brother Character) – On the right hand side of the first set of graves there is a pile of snow. Use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the snow to achieve the Second Brother Character token.

To the right of the doorway you’ll see a heating outlet pipe, use the ‘Reducto’ spell the pipe and then use the ‘WL’ spell on the pieces of pipe to direct the steam to the grave to melt the snow.

Head to the right the wall and use ‘WL’ spell on the pile of Lego bricks by the grave. Use the ‘WL’ spell again to melt the snow on the grave.

(Hyper Cast Red Brick) – Around the area you’ll see three brown flower storks on the floor, use the ‘WL’ spell on the flowers to place them back on the graves and gain the Hyper Cast Red Brick.

(Narcissa Malfoy Character) – Shoot the snowman to the right of the hut with a yellow lock to gain the Narcissa Malfoy Character token.

Use the ‘WL’ spell on the candle to melt the snow on the grave.

(Wizards Hat) – Before clearing the final grave, use the ‘Pet’ ability to kill the three rats to gain a Wizards Hat.

Using the ‘Pet’ ability dig up the Hermione Bag Spot, then use Hermione on the Bag Spot to get a hair dryer. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the grave to clear the snow and exit through the gate.

Now you’ll find yourself in an old house.

(Bathilda Bagshot Character) – At the top and the bottom-right of the room you’ll see two spiders come down on webs, use the ‘Reducto’ spell on both of them to gain the Bathilda Bagshot Character token.

Go through the doorway at the back of the room.

(Wizards Hat) – Use the ‘WL’ spell on the rotten food to put it all in the bin and then use the ‘WL’ spell on the bin lid to gain the Wizards Hat.

(Mafalda Hopkirk Character) – To the bottom-left of the room, there is a pot of the table, use the ‘WL’ spell on the pot to gain the Mafalda Hopkirk Character token.

Use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the padlock on the cabinate to get a Hermione Bag Spot, switch your character to Hermione and use the bag spot to get a watering can. Shoot the watering can and then use the ‘Arguamenti’ spell to fill up the watering can. Finally, use the ‘WL’ spell on the watering can to put out the fire from the oven.

Use the ‘WL’ spell on the pile of Lego bricks to create a pair of teeth, use the ‘WL’ spell on the teeth and direct them towards the pile of books to reveal the staircase.

Head up the stairs, you’ll be faced with a snake. Watch out for the poison he spits out, when the first item appears in front of the snake use the ‘WL’ spell on it and use the directional buttons to spin the item towards to snake, this will happen three times.

When the snake does dizzy use the ‘WL’ spell on the item to make the snake swollow it and then use the ‘WL’ spell on the snake. Repeat these actions another two times to complete the chapter.

Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 Walkthrough for Nindendo DS and 3DS

Year 6 – Chapter 4

The Cave Entrance

You will find yourself in a dark cave, in order to see where your are, use the ‘Lumos’ spell to light up the area.

Make your way up the path of cave until you reach a large light orb, walk into the light orb to light up the area.

(Wizards Hat) – Switch to Dumbledore’s character and head to the far left of the room. Use the ‘Deluminator’ ability on the lit light and light the light next to the gold gate to the right. The gold gate will open and you can gain the Wizards Hat.

Stand to the right of the chest which is sticking out of the ground and use the ‘Wingardium Leviosa (WL)’ spell to raise the stepping stones in the water. Use the stepping stones to get to the central platform. Note: You will need to jump on the stepping stone and raise the second one as quick as possible to get across to the central platform.

(Minister Rufus Scrimgeour Character) – When on the central platform use the ‘WL’ spell on the bell pieces to put it together. Shoot the bell and a bat will fly down with a character token, shoot the bat and collect the Minister Rufus Scrimgeour Character token.

Use the ‘Deluminator’ ability on the light next to the bell to get the light.

Use the ‘Wingardium Leviosa (WL)’ spell to raise the stepping stones in the water. Use the stepping stones to get to the far left platform. Note: You will need to jump on the stepping stone and raise the second one as quick as possible to get across to the far left platform.

Use the ‘Deluminator’ ability to put the light in the light to the right of the gold gate.

The gate will open and you’ll see a red wall, stand on the red glow on the floor and press the A button. Use the directional buttons to cut the circle out of the wall and use the ‘WL’ spell on the pieces that fall from the wall.

Use the ‘Deluminator’ ability to get the light again and stand in the middle of the red ring that is created. Press and hold the A button to send you to another area and leave you standing in the middle of a ring circle.

Use the ‘Deluminator’ ability again to put the light in the unlit light and get the light from the other light; this will put a handle on the crates so that you can make them in to stairs. At the top of switch your character to Harry and use the Parseltongue cabinate; this will open the other yellow ring. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the yellow ring to put it into place.

Use the yellow rings to get back and forth between the two platforms and use the ‘Deluminator’ ability to move the lights to the three lights around the far left door on the lower platform. For the third light you will need to get the light from the one you lit to get the wizards hat; this will open the door and allow you to continue.

You will find yourself in another dark cave, use the ‘Lumos’ spell to see where you are going and watch out for the gaps in the path.

Make your way along the path until you get to another light orb again, this will light up there area.

At the bottom of the ramp, use the ‘Reducto’ spell to brick up the rocks; this will reveal a temperature valve. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the valve to cut off the fire going across the path and proceed.

Switch your character to Dumbledore and use the ‘Deluminator’ ability to move the light to the far right to the light above the devils snare vines.

(Wizards Hat) – Shoot the two skeletons to gain a Wizards Hat.

Make your way up the ladder and use the ‘WL’ spell on the snake. Then use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the snake to destroy it and press and hold the A button to pull on the handles on the column.

Shoot the two skeletons to get the key which the skeleton swallowed and place it in the boat pulley. Press and hold the A button on the boat pulley to get the boat and jump on the boat to continue.

Use the ‘Lumos’ spell to see your way and head to the right to get the light orb to light up the area.

In this area you need to collect three gold goblets and drink away all of the cursed water to get the horecrux. This is pretty self explanatory, use Dumbledore to move the light to get the gold goblins and fill them up with the fountain in the middle of the area. If you wish me to write this section step by step I will do that on request.

At this point you will watch a rather long cut screen but don’t be fooled this isn’t the end of the chapter.

You’ll find yourself in a fiery cave, make your way up the path and jump over the fiery logs as the roll down the hill.

After the cut scene kill the death eaters and collect the coins around the area.

(Argus Filtch Character) – To the top-left of the area you’ll see an arrow made out of coins, collect the coins to reveal the Argus Filch Character token.

Use the ‘Diffindo’ spell on the red wall at the top-left of the area and then use the ‘WL’ spell on the Lego bricks that came from the wall to create a barrel to break through the fiery barrier.

Make your way down the newly opened path, Bellatrix Lestrange will throw a pumpkin at you, use the ‘WL’ spell on the broken pumpkin and then use the ‘WL’ spell on the pumpkin again to attack Bellatrix Lestrange.

Use the ‘Reducto’ spell to kill the snakes and jump over the flaming logs and cross the bridge (where the coins are positioned).

Use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the next two snakes and make your way down the path. You’ll then be entered into a dual with Snape at the bottom of the steps. Attempt to defeat Snape, I have been unable to defeat Snape so I’m not 100% sure whether it is possible. Either way, exit via the blue exit platform.
