LEGO_Harry_Potter_Years-5-7_DS

I have completed playing through the Lego Harry Potter Year 5-7 DS game, at points I tried to find a full walkthrough for the DS version of the game but was unable to find anything. So in order to give something back to the Nintendo DS world, I’ve decided to create my own walkthrough as I re-play the game.

You may also want to check out Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 for Xbox 360 or Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 on the Nintendo Wii as the DS game is doesn’t have everything the larger console games do.

I will be posting separate posts for each chapter of the game while I re-play it, once I have finished I will combine all of my posts together to create a full walkthrough which you can print off and use.

Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 Walkthrough for Nindendo DS and 3DS

Year 6 – Chapter 3

The Burrow

You’ll find yourself outside of the Weasley household where the grounds are covered in flames.

Use the ‘Aguamenti’ spell on the flames in front of the logs that are hiding the Quibbler Dispenser. Then use the ‘Wingardium Leviosa (WL)’ spell on the logs to reveal the Quibbler Dispenser and collect a pair of spectrespecs.

Go to the right of the house and use the ‘WL’ spell on the Lego bricks to make a water container for the water cannon. Use the ‘Aguamenti’ spell on the water container to fill it up, the water cannon will put out the fire to reveal a pet pad.

Make your way around the house and you will see a washing line, use the ‘WL’ spell on the pulley wheel to move the the washing to the washing machine at the front of the house. Make your way to the front of the house and use the ‘WL’ spell on either item of clothing give them to the washing machine. The washing machine will blow up and allow the Remus Lupin character down from the washing line, he will now join your party.

Switch your character to Remus Lupin and select the ‘Anumagus’ ability, Remus Lupin will turn into a werewolf, then go and dig up the pet pad area to reveal some Lego bricks. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the bricks to turn the water cannon into a vehicle. Ride around in the vehicle putting out the fire where possible.

(…) – (Free Play Mode) If you put out the fire to the far left of the area you will see a pile of Lego bricks, use the ‘WL’ spell on the bricks to create a carrot harvester. The harvester will collect carrots revealing a Hermione Bag Spot …

(Wizards Hat) – (Free Play Mode) Switch to a character that has the ‘Pet’ ability and use the pet to dig the pet pad under the pipe, then go up the pipe to get a basket ball out. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the basket ball ? times to get the Wizards Hat.

(Character) – (Free Play Mode) Switch to Dumbledore and use the ‘…’ spell to get the light from the lamp by the basket ball net. Go over to the other lamp to the left of the house and put the light in the lamp to get a …

Go over to the far right of the area to continue to the next area.

Destroy the reeds around the area and the big green plants, then switch you character to Remus Lupin and use the ‘Anumagus’ ability. Dig the scissors pieces out of the pet pad and switch back to another character.

Use the ‘WL’ spell on the scissors pieces to put them back together and then use the ‘WL’ to cut down the shrubs.

(Nearly Headless Nick Character) - Make your way to the far right of the area and use the ‘Anumagus’ ability to dig up the pet pad; this will give you the Nearly Headless Nick Character token.

Head back to the middle of the area and you will see a turned over boat covered with Devils Snare, use the ‘Lumos’ spell on the Devils Snare and use the ‘Anumagus’ ability to remove the boat by pulling on the orange handles.

Shoot the death eater to make the area safe to walk about.

(…) – (Free Play Mode) To the far right of the area you’ll see a pet pad, use the ‘Pet’ ability to dig out a Quibbler Dispenser and collect a pair of Spectrespecs. Make your way to the left hand side of the area and switch to a dark magic character, use the ‘…’ spell to create … to be completed …

Continue along the path to the next area.

You will be facing with a dual with a death eater, defeat the death eater. Then you’ll enter another duel with another death eater, defeat the death eater and then shoot him until he runs away.

Now Bellatrix Lestrange will appear behind a wall of fire, she will throw a scarecrow towards you. Use the ‘WL’ spell to throw it back at her.

The death eater will re-appear, shoot him again until he runs away. Bellatrix Lestrange will appear again behind a wall of fire, she will throw a tractor towards you which will break up on the floor.

Use the ‘WL’ spell on the tractor pieces to put the tractor back together, the tractor will then run Bellatrix Lestrange over and a blue exit pad will appear and exit to the Hogwarts Boys Toilet.

You’ll find yourself in the boys bathroom at Hogwards, first of all you’ll be entered into a dual with Draco Malfoy, defeat Draco to continue.

Draco will hide in the toilet, you need to flush Draco out.

Go to the right of the toilet stalls and use the ‘Aguamenti’ spell on the water pipe to fill it up. To the back of the bathroom is a blue pipe, use the ‘WL’ spell on the pipe piece to complete the pipe. Switch to Ron and select the ‘Pet’ ability, use the pet to go up the pipe to push the drain pipe into place. Then use the ‘WL’ spell on the other drain pipe by standing underneath the pipes and press the A button; this will get the water to move along the drain pipes and fill up the water butt to get some dynamite pieces. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the dynamite pieces to put them together and pick it up. Walk up to the first toilet stall and shoot the door. Place the dynamite in the toilet and use the ‘WL’ spell on the toilet chain to flush the dynamite; this will force Draco out of the toilet.

(Wizards Hat) – Head over towards Draco to face another duel, defeat Draco to continue.

Now you will find yourself in the room of requirement.

Use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the padlock on the bouncing cabinate to get the first piece of the strength potion, place the item in the cauldron.

Use the ‘Diffindo’ spell on the red wall to create some Lego pieces, use the ‘WL’ spell on the pieces to create a stair case. Head up the stairs and collect the potion item at the top, place the item in the cauldron.

To the right of the Christmas tree you’ll see a box with a pipe piece in it, use the ‘Aguamenti’ spell on the box to raise the pipe piece. Select the ‘Pet’ ability and make your way up the pipe at the top you’ll see the third potion item, knock this off the shelf and switch back to your character. Place the item in the cauldron and press the A button to use the strength potion. Pull the orange handles on the cages to break through to the next part of the room.

(Wizards Hat) – Use the ‘WL’ spell on the brown display box to clean the window, there are three of these around the area; this will give you a Wizards Hat.

Use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the silver horse to destroy it, it will leave a pile of Lego bricks and use the ‘WL’ spell on the pieces to make a grabber. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the grabber to put it on the Weasley Wizards Wheeze Box and use the ‘WL’ spell to bring the Weasley Wizards Wheeze Box down.

Press the A button to break the box leaving a load of Decoy Detonators, walk over to the orange column on the floor and the Decoy Detonators will destroy it.

(Madam Rosemerta Character) – Use the ‘WL’ spell on the black statue to the right of the area to reveal the Madam Rosemerta Character token.

Use the ‘Lumos’ spell on the Devils Snare coving the silver statue and use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the statue to destroy it. Some Lego pieces will be left behind, use the ‘WL’ spell on the pieces to create a record player and then use the ‘WL’ spell on the record player to get it to play; this will cause the instruments to break themselves up so you can continue.

Use the ‘Diffindo’ spell on the red wall section to give you some Lego pieces, use the ‘WL’ spell on the pieces to create a weight and then use the ‘WL’ spell on the weight to get it to open the curtain.

Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 Walkthrough for Nindendo DS and 3DS

Year 6 – Chapter 2

The Three Broomsticks

(Wizards Hat) – Collect the three gold goblets and place them on the bar to get a Wizards Hat.

Switch to Hermione’s character and select the ‘Pet’ ability. Use the Y button to catch four the rats around the room. Use the ‘Wingardium Leviosa (WL)’ spell on the piece of pipe to complete the pipe and use the pet to go up it.

At the top there is a brown pad, stand on the pad with the pet to reveal a red ‘Diffindo’ wall. Switch back to your character and use the ‘Diffindo’ spell on the wall to produce a pile of Lego bricks. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the bricks to create a set of stairs.

Make your way up the stairs and use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the padlock to find the Quibber Dispenser and collect a pair of specrespecs.

To the right you’ll see you can now interact with the yellow Lego bricks, use the ‘WL’ spell on the bricks to create a picture frame with pieces of the picture missing.

Use the ‘Lumos’ spell on the Devils Snare and put the picture piece on the frame.

Destroy the bricks on the floor to leave two more picture pieces and place these on in the frame. Now swap the pieces around to produce a picture of a character in a bath.

Use the ‘WL’ spell on the yellow duck to give it to the character in the picture, he will give you a tap for the barrel by the stairs. Attach the tap to the barrel by pressing the A button next to the barrel; this will then pour a glass of butter beer for Professor Slughorn.

(Wizards Hat) – (Free Play Mode) Use the spectrespecs on the Lego bricks in front of the fire place and use the ‘WL’ spell on the bricks to create an animal head. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the animal head to place it above the fire place; this will open the gate to the fire place. Use the ‘Aguamenti’ spell on to put the flames out; this will reveal a Wizards Hat.

Collect the butter beer from the top of the stairs and give it to Professor Slughorn to continue to the next area.

Slughorn’s Supper

You’ll find yourself in Slughorn’s dinning room.

(Wizards Hat) – (Free Play Mode) Go through the door way to the right of the dinning table, use the ‘Aguamenti’ spell on the four plant tubs to grow the flowers; this will give you a Wizards Hat.

Make your way back inside.

(Marcus Belby Character)- (Free Play Mode) Go over to the cabinate with the orange handles and switch to a strength character to open the cabinate. A key will come out of the cabinate, pick it up and put it in the key hole on the piano. Press the A button to turn the key, this will make the piano open up and start playing. The wizards in the picture frame above will start to dance and give you the Marcus Balby Character token.

By the piano you’ll see a table, shoot it to get it to hit the sofa; this will give you a pile of Lego pieces. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the pieces to create a sink.

Now make your way over to the dinning table and use the ‘WL’ spell on the broom to sweep the mess on the table into the waste disposal unit. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the plates on the table to put them into the sink. Now use the ‘WL’ spell on the sponge to clean the table.

A blue exit platform will appear in the middle of the table, use it to continue to charms class.

Aguamenti Lesson

This is where you first learn the Aguamenti spell.

First of all shoot the two moving books as they will try to kill you.

Then to the right of the room, you’ll see a watering can. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the watering can to place it weight hook and use the ‘Aguamenti’ spell to fill up the watering can; this will open the gate on the fire place. Use the ‘Aguamenti’ spell on the flames in the fire place to get the first key for the chest, place the key in the chest.

(Slythering Twin #1 Character) – To the left of the chest you’ll see a chair, jump on the chair and shoot in while standing on it. When the chair has grown you’ll see the character token, jump up to get the Slythering Twin #1 character token.

Behind the chair are four green Lego pieces, use the ‘WL’ spell on the pieces to place them into the plant tube. Use the ‘Aguamenti’ spell on green plant storks to make them flower. Shoot the flowers to reveal another key, place the key in chest.

To the top-left of the room you’ll see a tank with Lego bricks in it. Press the A button to fill up the tank and raise the Lego bricks. Use the bricks to get up to the platform above, at the top go towards the centre of the platform and you will see a container with loads of pipe coming from it. Use the ‘Aguamenti’ spell to fill up the container by pressing and holding the A button twice.

Use the ‘WL’ spell on the pipe regulator to release the water into the hose pipe to let the wizard in the picture frame put out the fire. The wizard will give you a chest, shoot the chest to get the third and final key, put this into the chest. A blue exit platform will appear in the middle of the room.

(Character) – (Free Play Mode) Switch to Dumbledore and use the ‘…’ spell on the lamp behind the chest by pressing and holding the Y button, target the lamp to get the light. Make your way up the Lego steps to the platform and go to the far right. Press and hold the Y button again and target the lamp by the Devils Snare to release the …

Now exit via the platform to complete the chapter.

Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 Walkthrough for Nindendo DS and 3DS

Year 6 – Chapter 1

Professor Slughorn

You’ll find yourself in Professor Slughorn’s living room, here you need to basically tidy the place up for items which will allow you to move on.

It doesn’t matter what order you do the following steps in as long as you do them all!

Right of the room

• Put the record on the record player and destroy the bricks in the window to get another record, place this on the record player too.
• Destroy the bricks infront of the bookcase and pick up the photo that is left behind. Place the photo on the vanity unit to the far right of the room.
• Go to the right side of the bookcase, press and hold the A button and use the directional buttons to push the bookcase as far to the left as it will go.
• You’ll see the 3rd record for the record player. Place this on the record player to get another photo, place the photo on the vanity unit.

Left of the room

• Use the ‘Wingardium Leviosa (WL)’ spell on the lamp to stand it up and on the bricks in front of the fire place to make a clock.
• Destroy the bricks on the floor to reveal a clock cog, put the cog in the clock that you just created.
• Use the ‘WL’ spell on the pictures above the fire place to get a second clock cog.
• Place the cog in the clock and the clock will release a photo for the vanity unit, place the photo on the vanity unit.
• Use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the bricks in the fire place then use the ‘WL’ spell on the Lego bricks left behind.
• Use the ‘WL’ spell on the light fitting pieces to place the fitting on the ceiling; this will reveal another photo. Place the photo on the vanity unit.

A blue exit pad will appear in the middle of the room, before exiting do the following for a character token.

(Madam Pince Character) – Switch your character to Dumbledore and select the ‘Deluminator’ spell. Press and hold the Y button and target the lamp that you put together by the clock, release the Y button to get the light. Go over to the bookcase and press and hold the Y button, target the light and release the Y button to get the light to light up.
A row of studs will appear with the Madam Pince Character token at the end.

Now continue through the blue exit pad to Weasley Wizard Wheezes.

You’ll find yourself in the Weasley Wizards Wheezes shop.

The aim in this area is to create a love potion to give to Verity, so that she will let you go upstairs.

First round up the three purple creatures that have escaped from the cage by walking behind them leading them up to the cage; at first this may seem difficult but keep trying and you’ll get the hang of it in the end.
Then use the ‘WL’ spell on the cage to put it back on the ceiling. A love potion item will be left behind on the floor.

Use the ‘WL’ spell on the key which is located on the floor in front of the duck, to put it in the box on the table. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the key again to release the jack in the box, this will scare the duck and the duck will lay an egg. Shoot the egg to create another love potion item.

To the right of the duck is a product display, shoot it to leave a third love potion item.

(Leanne (Jacket) Character) – To the far top-right of the room is a green strange looking girl head holding a barrel. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the head to get the Leanne (Jacket) Character token.

Jump on the table that the duck is on and the use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the flying saucer to get it to brake up the box to the left of the stairs. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the Lego pieces that are left behind to make a Quibbler Dispenser. Press the A button to collect a pair of ‘Spectrespecs’.

Go over to the other side of the stairs and use the ‘WL’ spell on the Lego pieces; do the same to the piece located in front of the table with the duck on it. This will release the cauldron from the flower to the right of the stairs.

Now collect the three love potion items that you uncovered earlier and put them into the cauldron to create the love potion.

Press the A button to get a box of love potion chocolates and give them to Verity. You will become Verity’s character, so use Verity to open the gate to the stairs, and make your way up the stairs.

(Verity Character) – At the top-left of the stairs, you’ll see three coloured piles of magic sand and three coloured boxes. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the three piles to put them into their boxes; this will give you the Verity Character token.

(Wizards Hat) – Using the George Weasley character, select the ‘pet’ ability to deploy a ‘Decoy Detonator’, use it to destroy the Weasley Wizards boxes; this will give you a Wizards Hat which is located in the middle of the balcony.

(X10 Stud Multiplier Red Brick) – Use the ‘WL’ spell to give sweets to the clown head, use the ‘Reducto’ spell very quickly to break the clowns teeth; this will take a lot of attempts and is very difficult and frustrating so just keep at it and you’ll get there eventually. Then use the ‘WL’ spell on the sweets again to get the clown to give you the 10X Stud Multiplier Red Brick.

To the far right of the balcony, use the ‘WL’ spell on the boxes to release the flying saucer. Stay on the balcony and use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the flying saucer to destroy it. (You may need to re-position yourself a few time to get a position that will allow you to hit the flying saucer)

(…) – (Free Play Mode) Switch to a dark magic character and use the … spell on the padlock on the cabinate to get … to be completed …

Year 5 – Chapter 4

Grawp Visit

In this chapter you find yourself in the woods. Shoot all of the plants and flowers around you to get studs.

(…) – (Free Play Mode) As you move through the area you’ll see small green square Lego bricks on the floor there are five in total. Use the ‘Aguamenti’ spell to turn them into flowers and you’ll gain a ? You can also shoot the flowers for more studs.

As you move down the area a creature comes out of one of the holes in the ground, you need to shoot the creature. Then another two creatures will come out of the ground, shoot these too. Finally, two more creatures will come out of the ground, once you have shot them a flower will be released from one of the holes in the ground. Use the ‘Wingardium Leviosa (WL)’ spell on the flower to create a jump pad, jump on this pad to get up to the level above.

To your right you’ll see half a tree trunk with Devils Snare coming out of it, use the ‘Lumos’ spell to remove the Devils Snare; this will clear the path way below to allow you to continue.

Use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the silver rocks at the back to reveal a pink petal and use the ‘WL’ spell on the petal to put it on the plant.

Make your way around the area and shoot all the plants, you should now see another pick petal on the floor. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the petal to put it on the plant.

Now switch you character to Hermione and select the ‘Pet’ ability. Press the A button to turn into the pet and press and hold the Y button to dig out the last pink petal. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the petal to finish the flower on the plant. This will make the flower head spin, jump on the spinning flower to get blown up to the next area.

Make your way down the path and shoot all of the flowers and plants for studs.

(…) – (Free Play Mode) Switch to a ‘Strength Character’, I like to use Hagrid and go up to the chest with the orange handles. Press the A button to open the chest and you’ll get … To be completed …

(…) – (Free Play Mode) On the far right hand side of the area you’ll see a pet pad, switch your character to someone who has the ‘Pet’ ability, press the A button to use the pet and dig up the ‘Weasleys Wizard Wheezer Box’. Switch your character to a Weasley character and press the A button to open the box.

Use the ‘Pet’ ability to dig up a pair of scissors from the pet pad in front of the hedge. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the scissors to cut down the hedge to allow you to continue to the next area.

In the next area you’ll see Grawp to the right, head left and shoot the flowers for studs.

(…) – (Free Play Mode) Switch to a ‘Dark Character’ and the ‘…’ spell on the all ? red and black flowers to get a … to be completed …

At the far left hand side you’ll see two fences, behind the first one is a drill, use the ‘WL’ spell on the drill and break down the wall.

Follow the path until you get to a broken bike around the bike are pieces for the bike. On the far left is a bell for the bike, use the ‘WL’ spell on the bell to put it back on the bike.

In the tree trunk is a Devils Snare, use the ‘Lumos’ spell on the Devils Snare to get the wheel for the bike, use the ‘WL’ spell on the wheel to put it on the bike.

Switch character to Hermione and use the ‘Pet’ ability to dig the handle bars for the bike. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the handle bars to put them back on the bike; this will fix the bike.

Go up to the bike and press the A button to get on the bike. Ride the bike over to Grawp and press the Y button to ring the bell which will wake Grawp up.

(Professor Sprout Character) – Jump off the bike and go behind Grawp, you’ll see a rock with Devils Snare over it. Use the ‘Lumos’ spell on the Devils Snare to release the Professor Sprout character token.

Attract Grawp to the left of the screen by ringing the bell on the bike as you move along, you will finish this section of the chapter.

Now you’ll find yourself in a dark room with metal grates on the floor.

You need to move quickly through the area before the whirl wind gets you. Watch out for the floor as it will fall down in places.

When you get to a safe area you’ll be faced with two black caped people, kill them by using the ‘Reducto’ spell on them, they will disappear.

Use the ‘WL’ spell on the snow globe to your left and then use the ‘WL’ spell on the pile of Lego bricks, this will make a ladder. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the ladder to move it over to the right and then climb the ladder. When you get to the top of the laddar another black caped person will appear, use the ‘Reducto’ spell on it too.

(Wizards Hat) – Use the ‘WL’ spell on the Lego bricks across the shelves to make a bridge, walk over the bridge to the other shelf and then jump towards the studs on the other shelves to get an item above. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the item to drop it down from the shelves. The item will break when it hits the floor to reveal a Wizards Hat.

(Professor Tralunway Character) – If you make a large jump to you left you’ll land on another shelf where you will find the Professor Tralunway character token.

Continue forward and use the ‘WL’ spell on the fallen piece of floor, make a long jump over to the other side. Now the whirl wind will start to chase you agin, just run the end of the area and watch out for the holes in the floor again.

Now you will find yourself in a room with three black caped people holding your friends hostage on the top of three large rocks.

First kill the four black caped people on the ground using the ‘Reducto’ spell.

Then go to the first one to the right and use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the three silver rocks under the large rock with the black caped person in it.

Then go to the second one to the left and switch character to Hermione, use the ‘Pet’ ability to dig through the pad infront of the rock to make the black caped person fall down. You’ll then be taken into a duel with the black caped person, defeat him to continue.

Head to the third and final one, switch your character to Luna Lovegood. Use the ‘spectrespecs’ ability to see the power drill on the floor infront of the rock. Move away from the drill until the purple ‘WL’ spell gives you the option to press the A button. Use the ‘WL’ spell on the drill to break up the rock, this will make the black caped person fall down and pull you into another duel. After the duel a blue platform will appear in the middle of the area.

(Rita Skeeter Character) – Where the third rock was is the Rita Skeeter character token.

(Unlock Four Characters) – To the left of the third rock is a pile of bones on the floor, use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the bones to reveal a token to unlock four more characters.

Now exit via the blue platform in the middle of the room.

In the next area you’ll start a duel between Dumbledore and Voldemort, just need to defeat Voldemort.

Now Voldemort will summon a fire snake, use the ‘WL’ spell on anything you can around the room to stop the fire snake. The snake will retreat and Voldemort will create a whirl wind, watch out for the whirl wind as you make your way around the room.

(Wizards Hat) – Use the ‘Reducto’ spell on the silver bricks near to where the fire snake was to gain a Wizards Hat. 

Go over to the fountain and use the ‘WL’ spell on the fountain to get the Lego bricks and then use the ‘WL’ spell on the tap handle to plug the fountain.

Do the same with the next fountain but this time plug it with the duck shaped item on the fountain edge.

Use the ‘WL’ spell on the third fountain to release the last few Lego bricks, this will make a spear object and put Voldemort in it. Use the ‘WL’ spell to spin the spear through the gold gate. This will open the gate and start another duel between Dumbledore and Voldemort. Defeat Voldemort to continue.
