Bloodmilk

2012-03-23T19:48:00.000+00:00

what i like about jlschnabel's work is that it's very "out there" its strange and definitely for surrealist fans. I rally love the way she casts the natural appendages of birds as a fellow jeweler smith i know that's not easy i have not yet mastered it but i hope i do its. In my work i want to mix both natural objects and metal ones to create a cluster of items on a necklace or a ring.

My artist inspirations

2012-03-23T19:23:00.000+00:00

Bjørg Nordli-Mathisen grew up in the north of Norway and began making one-of-a-kind jewellery whilst living in India in 2004. With a background from the arts, she has upheld a nomadic lifestyle, always drifting towards newcorners of the world in search of inspiration.

Bjørg releases two collections per year. The Classic collection has its foundation in silver, diamonds and precious stones whilst the Odyssey collection represents new directions through its foundation in bronze. All materials are 100 % natural and obtained in accordance to environmental preservation. There is a conceptual approach to all of her designs that encapsulates both previous and present collections as balancing acts between the fine and the raw. Whether the specific inspiration comes from surrealism, Charles Darwin experiments or ancient myths, there is always a link through an industrial approach to conveying nature in a piece of jewellery.

I like her work because it very different and unusual its not the sort of jewellery that is worn for no reason it is a statement. Her work has concept which give her work meanings and its own story to me that's the charm of theses pieces.

I really enjoyed making and design our box garment I found that it was hard to know when to stop adding things to it but as I was working with a partner we discussed ideas and decided what 2 colours to use. I like this photo because it is really different to how in my mined we would weir our box.

In this photograph i like the way we have combined our body's to create one form by using the t-shirt i rally like this one as we have used 2 levels which i think gives it more depth.

i piked this photo because i like the use of the lockers and how i interacted with them and how the object work with them as well.

i liked this one because of how the object manipulated my body and the way i interacted with them made different shapes in profile.

i liked the concept of this one but it does need some improvement such as getting the full tenth of the bodes i wanted to get the objects to look like they were holding me up in the chairs

i think this is my favourite because its very dramatic and dynamic i really like how i used the object in relational to my body.

over all i found the activity helpful in getting me to think how i can be a pice of sculpture and how i interact with object around me.

when i was doing this i felt really silly but it was fun to do something so strange.

Just for laughs

2011-10-06T22:23:00.000+01:00

Well i just love the creativity in this it reminds me of one of Dali's work 7 fly's and one model.
I really like that something so strange can provoke such emotion aether repulsion or appeal.
